Guest Reviews
- Deborah (8/5): - Central to everything. Great selection of very affordable food. Good selection of drinks, beer slightly more expensive than pubs at home.very friendly staff
- mark (10/5): - Great bar area and choice : football on screens
- Chris (8/5): - Very convenient location. Welcomme was very good. Room was as we expected. Dinner average but service was jovial but slow. Food order was not as we wanted and one drink and tea hadto be chssed.
- Ray (6/5): - Room over priced for the time of year. Food fair and over priced. Ordered a bowl of fries which were £3.95 and only worth about £1.50 and were not hot.
- Julian (10/5): - Well kept well situated hotel with a good vibe and busy environment 😄
- Verified traveler (10/5): Welcoming - Very friendly welcome to the hotel and a bonus to have separate beds for the children. Pub/restaurant was nice and had the added bonus of darts and a pool table.
- Bethan (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Just what we needed.
- Amy (10/5): Fantastic - Amazing stay staff really friendly. Room fantastic for a family of 4
- Darren (6/5): OK, but very cold. - Staff were helpful. Food was OK. Room was freezing, no heating working, heating in the corridors bit not in the room.
- Tony (10/5): Lovely - Always enjoy staying here
- Andrew (10/5): Nice Overnight Stay. - Excellent overnight stay. Leah and her staff were very nice. Food good, especially the full “Big Breakfast” served on nice warm plates! Something that you don’t get everywhere these days. Hotel must have been recently renovated and our room was very good with an unusual three steps down into the bathroom (something to remember to tell staff if you are not quite as mobile as us) which was spotless and the shower was brilliant.
We will be back sometime! Thanks.
- Zoe (10/5): - Good location. Good family room.
- Sherri (10/5): Lovely room - Really lovely stay, the room was great. We ate in the restaurant too for evening meal and breakfast, great value for money and food was delicious.
- Gary (10/5): - Lovely stay nice staff
- Lindsey (10/5): Absolutely lovely - Impeccable stay at a lovely pub! Clean, fresh rooms, delicious meal, friendly service, reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!
- Richard (10/5): - A lovely stay for a couple of nights while visiting the area on holiday with my family (booked a family room for 4). It has been recently refurbished nicely and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Would recommend to others looking to stay in the area.
- Lynn (8/5): - It was fine. The room seemed extra warm with the turned off and 2 windows open. Pillows kind of hard.
- Margaret (10/5): - We stayed here for a weekend at the beginning of July and despite the pouring rain our stay was excellent thanks to the staff and lovely recently refurbished room and bathroom. They were all welcoming and helpful in every way. Would stay there again anytime.
- Margaret (8/5): - Very central and friendly. Rooms clean snd linen spotless.
Food very nice.
- Terry (10/5): - A fantastic property in a great location looking over the broads. Central in a beautiful village catering for all your needs
- Stacy (10/5): Very nice hotel - We did a last minute booking so we got to he hotel really late however upon arrival Damion checked us in and he was very hospitable.
- Kay (8/5): - Room had recently been tastefully renovated. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had a safe and secure locked up place for our bikes.
- Donna (4/5): Not the best stay - The room was clean. Paint peeling in the bathroom and shower head very lime scaled. Pillows were very very very hard and the bed was like sleeping on a pavement so overall very uncomfortable. We left a day early. Staff were friendly although reception was also restaurant booking area so while we were being checked in there were people queuing for tables getting very grumpy at the delays.
- Maurice (8/5): - Superb location. Helpful staff. Very nice evening meal.
- Stephen (6/5): Terrible tiny room, tiny bed - Just awful. - Terrible tiny room, dreadful outlook from window. Food not so good, compared with other green king pubs.
- Shirley (4/5): Disappointing! - Duvet was so badly stained could be seen through duvet cover....complained straightaway and manager had to go out and buy a brand new one to replace it.
8 pillows but only one usable others all badly stained...manager again had to return with a clean pillow....no duvet or pillow protectors used!
One window didn't have a lock....no plug near mirror....wallpaper peeling away from ceiling...sink had hairline crack....shower mat you had to ask at reception for?
On the plus side room was large and breakfast great.
Hotel needs updating!
- Nigel (8/5): OK, I guess, but not particularly great - The decor wasn't great - the room looked pretty 'tired', with a broken shower tray and very leaky shower head. In addition, the sash windows didn't really fit properly in the frames, so I imagine it would have been pretty draughty in winter. The bed was comfortable though, so we had a good night's sleep. Apparently it's due for a full refurb in January 2024, so I'd expect it to be better after then
- paul (4/5): Great location great staff but avoid room 7. - I do not often write reviews as I’m not a key board warrior. I thought value for money, the room was very basic. No bedside tables a view from the window staring at roof tiles. Yes I get the location and why the room rate was close to £100 per night. But at 4.55am this morning when the bottle bank was emptied waking me up I thought was a little in considerate. Hence me review. The staff on arrival were excellent the room was very tiny and considering just the night before 11 miles away I’d paid £79 for a suite room was very unimpressed with the room. It was small, very cold and the bathroom whilst very clean was very cold. The window blind only went down 3-4 of the way the window so as well as the bottle bank being emptied at 4.55am the room was filled with light. I’m sure the rest of the hotel is fine, but room 7 should not be sold at the rate it was. In my experience of travel and room rates £55-£65 per night is the maximum this chain should be charging for this room.
- Steven (10/5): steve - Very relaxing location, room clean staff nice, breakfast very enjoyable. Would defiantly stay again.
Thank you.
- Patricia (8/5): - The drain on the shower did not work at all
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very central - Comfortable and staff helpful. Great location.
- Mark (8/5): Hotel needs refurbishment, but great service - We stayed here one night, on the bank holiday Sunday. The receptionist was very friendly indeed and made us feel very welcome. The same man served us breakfast in the morning, and couldn't have been more helpful so our thanks to him.
The accommodation itself is dated and needs bringing up to modern standards really. The double bed in the room felt small and was no so comfortable. In the evening we thought about eating downstairs, but we hadn't booked and only small table available was located where we could smell the toilets so we ate elsewhere!
In summary, we were happy with the accommodation for what we paid and glad we took the breakfast option as we had a nice vegetarian full English, with juice, tea and a good quality caffé latte.
- Sally (6/5): - Firstly, staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room we had (no. 8) was very clean.
However, it really needs a bit of maintenance. The TV has a blue line down the middle, the shower doesn't drain, and the heating didn't come on at all over our stay (although there was a free standing heater provided which did work). The kettle also needed the button held down manually in order to boil.
We didn't try the breakfast so can't comment on the food.
The area is perfect if you're looking for somewhere central to Wroxham, right by the broads, and yet peaceful at night.
- Anthony (4/5): Basic Hotel - Very dated place , needs updating and room I had must of next to the office as I heard the people coming to switch the alarm off at about 5:30 a.m. and then having a full conversation also the room was extremely cold
Low budget hotel it could be improved by something up dating and then heating
- Alastair (10/5): -
- Natalia (10/5): - The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The food was nice and reasonably priced. The room had a little bit of wear and tear but was great for the price we paid. Parking was easy and fantastic location for what we needed. A great stay had by all.
- Michaela (8/5): - A clean reasonably priced room
- Trevor (4/5): September 2022 - I am lead to believe that this property is soon to be refurbished? Not before time! The room, although mostly clean, held quite a few "dingy" areas. there was a hole in the wall under the TV, there were missing caps on the non heated towel rail, and the windows were filthy. I did not receive any clean, dry towels after my first full day, and the shower tray did not drain adequately . The TV itself had a wide vertical band running down the right of the picture. On a happier note, at least the bed linen was clean. Overall, my experience was not very nice. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the several areas of crumbling wall plaster.
- Stuart (8/5): Good location - Great easy location, right on the riverfront, with easy access to transport links.
Helpful staff even if the bar area was busy at times.
Clean and basic rooms
- Amy (8/5): Good value and perfect location for us - Good value for money and clean, but the window in the bathroom needed attention (rotting) and softer pillows would have been great. The staff were all lovely.
- Nic (10/5): NW - I really liked it here, a nice setting and very friendly and professional staff. Mine was a business trip but I would have no hesitation in visiting with family or friends.
Thank you
PS Breakfast was great 👍
- Megan (6/5): Fine for a little crossover stay - Nice enough stay, changed me to a river view which was lovely. The rooms were as we presented as they could be although the building does need some TLC windows with holes in and also a bit of damp here and there
- M (6/5): Polite, friendly staff. Terrible rooms. - I consider the pictures a bit misleading. It's basically some badly presented rooms above a pub. The pub staff were all great, helpful, friendly, polite. Food and service was good.
The state of the rooms and corridors are very poor. Cracked sink, cracked shower tray, ceiling plaster cracked and falling off above the bed. The bed was very old and felt every mattress spring. The sink filled without emptying for about 10 mins after using.
Breakfast was good, though had a "breakfast sandwich" at £3.99 and was charged the "full breakfast" rate of £7.99. Take a look at the pic, best to make your own mind up.
- Tim (8/5): All around good - Good location. Good size rooms and a good breakfast. Attentive staff and very friendly.
- Barry (8/5): Great staycation - This was our second stay in the last 5 years at The Kings Head and our first stay was great but this stay was even better, the staff were all brilliant, relaxed happy and welcoming with our comfort their priority. For a prime location next to the River Bure great food and staff willing to please this is a must stay when visiting Wroxham although the building is old the atmosphere is fresh and pleasant.
- Sebastian (6/5): - .
- Robert (10/5): - A lovely old pub and hotel on the river. Bar and food excellent. We would like to stay again.
- Susan (8/5): Lovely character pub/hotel - Overnight stay in room 4. View over roofing and towards river. Two single beds, good size room with tea and coffee making facilities. When you consider the age of the property you can imagine other feet in a bygone era treading the same steps. Speaking of steps there are a few to get upstairs and not quite even so you have to take care. Wroxham very busy with holiday makers so staff in pub/restaurant quite rushed and some menu items not available. We were advised a wait of 45 mins for our food but received it in half the time. Staff helpful and pleasant. Good choice for exploring Wroxham and lots to do and see.
- Jenna (6/5): Clean but dated - Fantastic location. Staff friendly. Pub and bar area nice and food was also good.
The room was clean but very tired and in need of renovations. There were a couple of damage marks on the walls and the tv had a damage line through it. The bathroom was clean but dated, fixed shower head, which was rusted.
Our stay was only for one night and therefore we could oversea the issues and enjoy the location and convenience and we would stay here again, but would ask for a different room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very close to the water, had partial view of river
- Christian (10/5): - The beds were comfortable, bedding was clean. The view of the river was beautiful and there's plenty of seating outside to watch the boats pass. The steps into the bathroom were a bit of a surprise but the toilet and shower were clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Early days and not all the menu was available
- Lee (6/5): Not Great - the place is in a good location however the very dated and décor, Light cover missing in bathroom above mirror and this could condensate with shower running and cause electric to trip as well as anyone could put fingers into this area.
Wallpaper falling off ceiling and lights look like they have been taken from an operating theatre.
Very dull lighting......
- Boma/Kate (8/5): - Free parking was well appreciated.
It's well situated by the side of the river.
All the staff were absolutely understanding, polite and very helpful at all times. A special thanks to Agnes the angle of breakfast. So upbeat and obviously happy in her position it was an absolute treat to be served by her, most definitely an ambassador for the company and ideally suited to front of house interaction with patrons.
Matt made booking in so quick and easy giving clear instructions on all matters.
However happiness was dampened due to a busy spell when the IPA and Abbotts run out. And for the same reason there was a very restricted menue due to the fact there was no chicken strips no sharers platter no hunters chicken meaning we went out to eat. I'm sure this was an oversight but nethertheless it was disappointing. As advertised our room was small but were happy as time spent in it was minamal, in saying that I think the bed was only a four foot double and as I am 21st and 6'3" even with a short slim wife a good nights sleep was still left us wanting. The only other thing i would like to add is while commuting through the corridors there are two places we found with unidentified floor level changes which can take you by suprise. But these "faults" are just our opinion, overall we feel our stay was value for money and a good base for Horesy and the seals and further north at wells.
- Russ (8/5): alue for money - Stayed for two nights.
Bed was a little small for our liking but everything was clean.
We stayed in room no. 7. A lot of squeaky floorboards!
Breakfasts are good value.
Overall a pleasant stay
- Joannedeex (10/5): - We stayed in a family room for 2 nights . Very clean was a little surprised as never stayed above a pub before . Not that it should less cleaner or nice but very pleasantly surprised. Fantastic location . Easy car park free for stay . Lovely beer garden it was huge over looking broads . Very covid conscience every thing in place from waiting to go in and explaining every thing . Drinks and food were very reasonable too especially alcohol lol . The manager was very nice as like all the staff couldn’t fault one of them . Very dog friendly too . So yeah well done kings arms very impressed , will stay again hopefully longer next time 😊😊😊😊
