• Marta (8/5): Buena ubicación. Casa espectacular. - La casa es increíble. Decoración, comodidad y limpieza. El desayuno muy rico, aunque tienes que elegir un mismo desayuno para todo el grupo. Cocina y nevera a nuestra disposición. Muy cómodo para poder cocinar comida del bebé que llevábamos. Personal muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar en todo momento. No había agua caliente en algunas habitaciones. Piden que no se hagan fiestas porque es una zona residencial pero las dos noches que estuvimos, música alta en la casa de al lado hasta tarde. Esto solo afectó a la habitación de arriba. En el resto no se oía. Por otra parte, el chef dejó mucho que desear. Aunque la cena era abundante, era una cena fría y no avisó. El ceviche lo sirvió en una fuente enorme, como a granel. El tiradito eran unos filetes muy gordos de pescado casi sin salsa. Nos dijo que el vino estaba incluido pero solo trajo una botella para 8 y además, de vino blanco. El postre, tarta de queso, era totalmente artificial, como de plástico y no sabía en absoluto a queso. En fin. Una pena para ser una de las dos noches que cenamos en Cartagena. No lo recomiendo en absoluto. Además, fue buffet. Lo dejó todo en la mesa para que nos sirviéramos.

The lift/elevator was helpful when carrying items from one floor to another. A few nights we engaged the cook to stay and cook dinner for us - fabulous meals (bbq and seafood) ! Memory makers ! The staff were all pleasant and responded to requests Eg laundry, shopping recommendations. Special call out to Victor who was charming & intuitive (hard to do when we spoke no Spanish and he spoke no English). The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast meals were nice and filling - order the night before from a menu of about 8 items (select one item for the group). I would recommend this property for a group who intend on enjoying some time in the property and want to be well positioned in the old town. These are very small issues & wouldn’t stop me from booking again : the property has a plug in to the message system which results in messages being sent/received via email rather than the standard booking.com message system - it’s inefficient as you can’t see the conversation thread ie you need to go back to every email to pick up the thread. The manager was difficult to contact by phone. We tried for 24hrs - leaving messages and calling - eventually we contacted booking.com directly (we were travelling with Colombian locals and this helped us navigate the system). The plumbing needs a hot water pump - the hot was intermittent and when running was very difficult to regulate to a comfortable temperature (all rooms). Fortunately Cartegena is hot so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. There is only one bike available for riding. In Colombia, gen Z speak some English but don’t rely on speaking English as the main means of communicating. Learn a few phrases before you arrive. Download an eSIM so you can communicate with a translation app.

My friend and I jumped up and down for joy when we saw our room! It was right out of a magazine. The room was huge and so posh. The air conditioner was strong which is so nice in the humidity of Cartagena. We had new water bottles waiting for us everyday and were greeted with a delicious drink when we checked in. It only has 5 rooms, so it is peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was yummy and though we didn't use the 2 pools, they are a huge plus. I will recommend this hotel to everyone going to Cartagena!

• Nigel (10/5): Great boutique hotel. - Careful how you book - Expedia gave the wrong description and we got a first floor room (ground floor) on check in on the road by the front door - you don't want this room its too noisy. Our booking had in it that our room came with a balcony/patio so we were moved. Other than that it is a great small hotel with only 5 rooms and great personal service. Very very very comfy beds. Excellent location to see all of the old town. Just a brilliant hotel. Highly recommended.

• Matthew (10/5): Amazing Staff and Atmosphere - Everything about Casa Gastelbondo was amazing. First off, Jennifer at reception went way above and beyond on multiple occasions to help us. My friend and I speak basic Spanish, but Jennifer's perfect English was really helpful when we had some issues with a lost phone. The room was immaculate and the beds by far the most comfortable we had during out trip. Don't miss out on the breakfast, either. They have a long menu including local dishes and the quiet, relaxed, personal setting for your meal is nice before stepping out of the little oasis into the crowded, narrow streets of the old city. And I'd like to just say one more time how amazing Jennifer was and how easy she made our trip.

We had the master suite on the roof and used the pool as much as we liked. The staff were very helpful and kind and the breakfasts started the day well. • Nicholas (8/5): Great location and breakfast - Casa Gastelbondo is really well located within Cartagena's old town. It feels very luxurious and the rooms are very comfortable and well-equipped. The breakfast is large and very good (we loved the fresh juices!). We did have a bit of noise from the street during the night and in our room the air conditioning unit blew right on to one of the beds, which made it difficult to regulate the temperature of the room in the night. We had an early flight on our last day and we were disappointed after booking a taxi at the reception and being offered pastries and juices for breakfast before we left, when we came downstairs to find that none of this had been arranged for us. Other than this the service was very good.
• Dan (10/5): - Beautiful hotel with amazing staff and amenities. We stayed here for four days and had a amazing experience. Location is great, walking distance to all the city center sights and restaurants. The rooftop pool was a welcome retreat from the heat and humidity. Never used the indoor pool, as it felt awkward being next to the main desk and dining room. Breakfast was awesome. Both Colombian and Western options, all of which are made to order. Taste great and plenty of food. The real standout was the staff service. Our flight was severely delayed on our last day and we came down with a bout of food poisoning. The staff allowed us to stay in the hotel lobby after check out and did everything they could to help, including helping us order a taxi. They didn't have to do this and we were (are) very grateful for the assistance. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend this hotel enough.

The room was very spacious and it was nice to have a balcony as well as some outdoor sitting areas within the hotel as well. Breakfast included but made to order was great as well. I enjoyed coffee on the terrace in the morning, cooling off in the pool in the daytime heat, the location near the wall and shopping/dining. The A/C worked great! The room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint (and I don't think this is the hotel's fault) was the jackhammer on the roof above or near my roof that started at 7AM and was constant until about 7PM, plus there was a loud nightclub or bar nextdoor. Honestly, I would stay here again in a heartbeat though.

• Deborah (10/5): Lovely, small boutique hotel in the old town - My daughter and I had a great visit to Cartagena. Casa Gastelbondo was small, quaint and very accomodating. The room was spacious - 1 dbl bed, 1 qn, plus a pull out we didn't need, and a shared balcony. You could hear the street noise (cars, people walking by) but it was minimal. The breakfast each morning was included and they had many choices, each prepared very well. We took advantage of the small pool on the roof, and were fortunate that no one else did, so it was our private pool for a few days. The hotel only has 4 rooms, so you never see the other guests except at breakfast and because of that it is a very quiet and peaceful environment.

Their recommendations and the way they accommodated us was amazing. We felt like we were treated like VIPs. The hotel was beautiful. Location is perfect, walking distance to everything in town. Loved that it was a place with fewer rooms but our room was big and beautiful. The sitting area outside our room and the rooftop terrace and pool were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. Overall an incredible stay. I would visit again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend this enough to other travellers!!!

The room is nice but the hotel Is intimate because there are just 4 rooms. The location is exceptional, a block from the wall within the old city. The breakfast is great . I spent a good deal of time by the pool and in the oool because only 8 guests total in the whole place at most means you will have that pleasant pool to yourself. it’s hot hot hot in Cartagena and I have never spent so much time poolside as I did here. Love this place! Love the staff!

• keith (10/5): Lovely boutique hotel in walled city of Cartagena! - Fabulous small boutique hotel right in the old walled city of Cartagena. Location can't be beat, just a block off Plaza Santo Domingo. Hotel is clean, modern, all the appropriate amenities including a nice pool in the open air lobby area. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Included breakfasts were awesome. Can walk absolutely everywhere in the walled city, including being just two blocks from the wall itself which is lovely to walk on. Can easily exit walled with to access Getsemani neighborhood within ten minutes. This is an excellent choice for hotel in lovely Cartagena!

• Janet (10/5): - This place is in a great location. The hotel itself is clean with a very good breakfast. They have bikes if you want to ride around. The staff, Jennifer and Jamie are the best. They helped us with everything we needed and were very sweet. Only con-nightclub music can be heard on Saturday night until after midnight (quiet on Sunday and Monday of our stay). If we visit Cartagena again we would definitely stay here.
• Jen (10/5): Perfect - Our experience at casa gastelbondo could not have been better. Beautiful boutique hotel with only 4 rooms made you feel very attended to. with the amazing breakfast, 2 pools, and bicycles for free, what more was there to ask for. Located a block from the wall, and close to everything, i have no complaints. The staff is SUPER accommodating as well. Our flight home was not until 1155pm and they allowed us to use the facilities all day, which was nice to have a pool to cool off in during the day. I recommend this place to everyone and what would be great is a big group renting the whole house. I can't wait to return.

• Michael (6/5): Very good small hotel with one problem. - This is a micro hotel with only four rooms. A great staff, very helpful. Excellent bed. Small pool on the roof which was very relaxing. But you could not get a hot shower. Not once in four days did I get one. Also the sink was near impossible to use since it was so 'modern' the sensor would let it go on only if you hand was held in the perfect position. Also the designer loved changes in the floor levels which tripped up everyone. And why walls of mirrors in the bedroom. Still, its in a great place and Cartagena is a great place.
