- Ronald (1/5): - nothing the fact i paid for a room i didn.t use

- jwaduff (9/5): It was a good visit and we are returning guests. - There were some wonderful options for breakfast There were waffles, bagels, yogurt, juice etc. I just snagged some cookies because we were heading to breakfast in Mesa. The early check-in of $35 seemed a little steep. The front-desk person was so helpful and accommodating and let us do an early check-in for $25.
- Eric (10/5): Great for Ren Fest - Short distance to Renaissance Festival. Low cost. Decent exercise room and comfortable rooms, pool and a Jacuzzi. Only bad thing during our stay was a rude drunk guy we encountered that accused my wife of video recording him and he cursed like a sailor while my children were around.
- Michael (8/5): It was good. - Breakfast was ok. Bread could have been fresher.
- Rodd (7/5): Jacked up price for special events - Good More smoking areas

- Pankaj (10/5): -
- Angie (8/5): - Staff were all nice. Water pressure in shower could be better.
- Gregg (9/5): Very nice. Clean, staff and management all wanted to please us. - I had four breakfasts there. They rotated different sides to the scrambled eggs each day. Yogurt was served with fresh strawberries, melon and/or pineapple. Eggs were not kept as hot as I would have liked, but still good. Soap, shampoo and conditioner were place a little too high for height challenged people. They were located under the shower head, so one had to stand in the shower stream to get the soap and hair products. They should have been placed at the end opposite the shower head.
- Mary Helen (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable, some staff very friendly. I’m assuming the manager, she was very rude, knocking on my door asking me if I was checking out it wasn’t even close to check out time.
- Guest (9/5): Stay was very enjoyable. - Breakfast was above average. Had a pretty good variety. Missing peanut butter and honey. Lighting in the bathroom was a little dim.
- Natalia (10/5): Weekend gataway - Cozy, ran, location was perfect for our event. N/A
- Janice Elzenga (7/5): - Always a great place to stay None
- Contreras Jr. (5/5): -
- Contreras Jr. (6/5): Unfortunately, it’s an average stay - It was clean. It wasn’t old looking. The pillows were very uncomfortable. All the towels were dingy. The sheets were dingy. The pool was not very warm. The Jacuzzi was not very hot. The vending machines did not have a great selection and the breakfast sucks because of the fact that biscuits and gravy will work too much pepper too much way too much pepper. They didn’t have a very good selection of hot sauces And I don’t know. I just could’ve been better. I’ve seen best westerns that had a really great breakfast and I don’t have potatoes. This was very weird.
- Doreen (8/5): -
- Shirley (10/5): Very nice - Location
- Donna (5/5): - Friendly staff and locations The bathroom shampoo, conditioner, body wash,
body lotion , etc. are on the walls and were squeeze bottles that are very difficult to use.
The towels were rough.

- James (10/5): - Staff so so friendly and kind.
Will come back here Found out they do not take animals so we couldn't bring our dog next time
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Jefferson (10/5): - Good
- Uta (7/5): - Ruhiges Zimmer mit Balkon und Poolblick, schöne Poolanlage. Sehr schlechtes Frühstück!
- Wanda (3/5): - We liked how clean it and quiet it was. Although it was a good location, we were charged for 3 separate charges totaling 500 + dollars when it should have only been 350 roughly. We won't be going back to that.
- Heather Mueller (7/5): Clean and comfortable over priced - Friendly staff clean comfortable room very quiet good air conditioning Early check inn cost $35 before 3. Won’t let you sit at pool if early
Breakfast very poor. Fake butter. White bread only
Expensive for what you get
- John (8/5): - Very friendly staff, clwan rooms , a bit out of the way, but comfortable stay.
- Gail (6/5): - It was a typical best western experience. The bedding is terrible, a thin blanket, lumpy pillows, and when I got in the room, I almost walked out because they sprayed such a strong disinfectant in the room. It was almost like if they were spraying if there was a dog in it and it was a non-smoking room, but it gave me a massive headache for about four hours. My husband wouldn’t let me cancel and go find another hotel so I just hung in there. I kept the room door open to the back pool area so that helped until a bird flew in. Finally got the bird out and the smell seemed to dissipate. I wish they’d use something more organic smelling or natural essence. These strong disinfectant sprays are horrible. It’s too bad because the pictures look so cute. The lighting in there was pretty terrible as well. A shower cap might be a nice touch. It just was a low budget experience, but it was a low budget so you get what you pay for I’d rather pay double and get a better hotel room. And if you book from Expedia and want to change your room, just expect that they will charge you and that’s fine. I guess they have to make their money somewhere.
- Manisha (8/5): - Good
- Nicola (10/5): - This is a lovely hotel
Staff were very helpful, pleasant and friendly
Spotlessly clean, inside and out
Quite isolated spot if you have no car but good accessiblity to other routes - minutes from Freeway 60
Beautiful scenery (superstition Mountains)
- Christopher (10/5): Clean, clean, clean! - The hotel was super clean. The facilities were nice and the pool was great. For the money, this hotel can’t be beat, unless you need a 5 star resort. I will stay there again if I ever return to the area. Can’t think of anything.
- Sheila (10/5): - Great location to hike Superstition Mountains! Friendly staff and clean, comfortable room. We enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again.
- andre (10/5): -
- Karin (10/5): - Wonderful!
- Dewann (10/5): - Friendly staff. Great breakfast.
- NIKKI (9/5): -
- Ryan (8/5): -

- paul (10/5): - Staff was very good and professional. Very clean property and rooms are very nice.
- Christine (10/5): - Easy to get to. Friendly staff. Clean room. Bar next door had nice dinner options. Nice breakfast.
- Elizabeth (7/5): -
- Steve (6/5): - The bed blanket seemed to be 20 years old, stiff and scratchy.
- Patrick (10/5): Basic, clean & safe - This was perfectly fine-very clean, safe & secure, great customer service and affordable/reasonably priced. It's a decent, mid-level hotel. This is not a fancy 5-star resort, it's pretty basic with a nice pool.
- James (10/5): - Great place
- Scott (10/5): -
- Petra (8/5): - Zimmer ok.
- Grace (10/5): - The check-in staff were very friendly and hopeful.
- Frank (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Good Breakfast
- Lucille (10/5): - Staff was great

- Kim (10/5): - Beautiful place. Great people.
- Yen (8/5): Very good -
- C5002OFdianeb (4/5): Little regard for guests; poor customer service - Dates of stay - June 7-8, 2025
Our experience with Best Western Gold Canyon Inn would have been fine except for a few problems, namely the TV sets, the check-out time, Sierra, the front desk clerk, and Pat the manager. My family drove down from Prescott, AZ to go to a 90 year old man's birthday party. We made reservations at this hotel to stay for one night. All went well except for the RCA TV remote was difficult to use with it jumping all over the screen. (It is hard to explain, but it was something like that). My daughter also experienced the same problem with the TV in her room.
I heard the hotel had only 12 rooms occupied, probably because it was June with 103 degrees outside. The breakfast was from 6 to 9, which usually is till 10:00 on weekends. We were told they shortened the breakfast time so that the cleaning staff could leave early, even though it inconvenienced the guests! At 9:40 the cleaning lady knocked on my door and asked, "Are you ready?" I replied, "No, we're not ready to leave yet." Check-out wasn't until 11:00!
The most annoying part was dealing with Sierra, the front reservation desk clerk and Pat, the manager. Since check-in was at 3 and check-out was at 11, we felt a bit rushed. While I was eating breakfast, my daughter thought perhaps we could extend our check-out time by an hour and offer to pay $25 for each room ($50 for 2 rooms) to increase our stay for one more hour. She asked Sierra, the front desk clerk, if we could extend check-out by an hour. At first, she said no, but after my daughter called corporate, she let my daughter pay $25 for each room. Everything was fine until Pat, the manager, came outside where my daughter was smoking. There was no indication that she was the manager (no name tag, no special clothing). The woman authoritatively told my daughter to come over to her. My daughter didn’t know who she was. Pat, the manager, said they will not extend an hour for her, so she had to get a refund. Supposedly, it was because she screamed at Sierra, which my daughter denied. Pat told my daughter if she didn’t leave at 11, she would call the sheriff. My daughter told her to call the sheriff so that we all could look at the video tape of her “screaming.” That made Pat back down and walk away. I believe my daughter was not screaming or yelling because I was in the breakfast room eating, which was near check-out. I heard no screaming or yelling. Nothing! Later, I asked the breakfast staff if she heard screaming or yelling. She said no.
This Best Western gives the chain a black eye. I have been in Best Western Inns all over, even in Europe. We never had such poor customer service before. I think we may have to think carefully about choosing Best Western next time.
- Patrick (10/5): - Very nice place
- Angela Marie (10/5): - The towels were pretty rough.
- Harold L (10/5): Desert Oasis - Excellent oasis from the desert sun at the base of the Superstition Mountains. Staff was friendly and helpful. Drugstore next door. The pool and hot tub were fantastic in the evening. Balcony was nice.
- Joshua (8/5): - There was a used washcloth in the Bathroom.
- Don't (7/5): Lovely staff - For us it was the perfect location, the breakfast was good and the Rodeo bar very nice. Having blankets instead of duvets in hotel rooms is really not acceptable anymore.
- Eric (10/5): - Comfortable bed breakfast was good
- Dennis (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, good breakfast. Pool was great.
- DayTrip39127248644 (4/5): Disappointing Experience and Unprofessional Treatment - We recently stayed at this hotel and were deeply disappointed by both the accommodations and the way we were treated. Upon arrival, we were told we would need to pay an additional fee for having our child in the room with us—despite booking a room that clearly indicated it was for our family. This forced us to upgrade from our original King room with a rollaway to a room with two beds, which was not what we preferred, nor has this been an issue on past stays.
To make matters worse, we were accused of attempting to hide our service dog, even though the dog was clearly present, laying at my feet during check-in. The accusation was both unfounded and offensive. It was upsetting to be treated as if we were doing something dishonest, especially when we were in full compliance with ADA regulations. To blame the guest because the front desk staff forgot to give us a paper to sign at check in is unprofessional and unacceptable.
The hotel also had a strong, pervasive curry smell that made the stay uncomfortable. We felt as though we were being watched by management throughout our time there, and it wasn’t just us—other members of our group received inaccurate bills and were wrongly accused of having more people in their rooms than allowed, which simply was not true.
The management’s behavior was rude and unprofessional, and the overall atmosphere made us feel unwelcome and unfairly judged. This experience fell far short of hospitality, and unfortunately, we will not be returning or recommending this location to others.
