Guest Reviews
- Mitt (9/5): -
- Derek (8/5): - The breakfast was fantastic and the lovely elderly lady that was on service while we stayed had a wonderful sense of humour.
- james (8/5): - The staff was delightful. The pool area was beautiful, and the lobby was amazing. The room itself was great with the best TV we've ever had at a hotel! I think it was slightly overpriced..
- f4cdc84b816a71d8ca1f35185918e48f (8/5): -
- Kaila (7/5): It was ok but felt it was a little over priced - Close to the hwy and McDonald’s and gas station/
Convenience store the breakfast was good tho The pool was freezing not enjoyable the room smelled musky
- Lori (9/5): -
- Elaine (10/5): -
- OakridgeOR (2/5): Never Again! - It started off with a desk clerk refusing check in until we provided a phone number. I have never had this happen. I provided a valid ID and credit card which should have been enough. It had always been before. She gave me some story about having to contact us if there was a fire. We wondered why the phone in the room would not suffice. As it turned out, we were given the room next to the hotel’s equipment room. Perhaps we were being punished for our not wanting to provide a phone number. The room was very noisy. So much so, we could not sleep. After our previous experience at the desk, we felt our only option was to just lay there and get what little rest we could before having to drive all day. In the morning, the manager denied knowledge of the noise and further refused any compensation because we used an online booking site to make our reservation. Something else I’d never heard of since we paid at the hotel upon checking in. And if you are counting in the breakfast, don’t. The gas station next door offers better food. There is another place just ip the road at Wikiup Station. Go there.
- Robert (2/5): Never again. - There was hot water for a shower. It used to be a decent place to stay but no more. Towels are frayed, the breakfast is horrible and staff is not particularly helpful. I wish I could upload the audio from our room. We got no sleep because of the constant rumble from the equipment room next to us. And after our experience with the front desk checking in, we felt obliged to just deal with it. Even the earplugs that we carry were of little use. The “breakfast” was incomplete. There were no potatoes to go with the rubber eggs. The only bread was an English muffin, no bagels or sliced bread. Yogurt was nowhere to be found. Fruit was limited to school-lunch style cups of diced fruit or apples. The cereal choices were all sugary cereals with the exception of the instant oatmeal. They charge $13/person for this breakfast! We were glad we had a few snacks in the car. I talked to the manager and was refused even a partial refund. She blamed that on the fact I used booking.com to reserve my room. I am pursuing other options because the one thing a person should be able to do in a hotel is sleep. Our room was too loud to allow that!
- Terry (8/5): -
- Suzanne (3/5): Think highly of Best Western however poor customer service at this location. - Our charges at checkout were 40.00 more than our confirmation price. All we did was sleep there. The room was left just the way we received it. The front desk refused to look into the price difference. See above wrote this answer above.
- Karen (7/5): Clean hotel that works fine for a quick overnight stay. - The staff is very friendly, the rooms are large and clean, the free breakfast the next day is nice. The locale isn’t particularly pretty, as it is right off highway 97. If your neighbors are loud, you can hear them. Also, even though the website says there is a fitness gym, there is no gym. Finally, there is no elevator. That is actually an issue for those with mobility problems and isn’t noted on the website.
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Robin (8/5): - Good location
- Mrs. Williamz (5/5): -
- Shawna (10/5): - Beautiful decorations calm atmosphere
- Carol F (10/5): - Easy access to Highway Parking lot
- Reyes (10/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional for someone always looking for a good rate. - The parking for me was great for pulling a trailer w/luggage on top of my car. The decor was very homey, Holiday decor was well appointed, breakfast was perfect, very quiet! I was challenged by the TV system but then again at 79 I’m easily challenged. Wished I’d had a swimsuit. Pool area looked exceptional, wished I could have stayed longer! I will look for more BW Stations in my future travels.
- Stephanie (8/5): -
- Dale (5/5): -
- P (6/5): - Staff was amazing and the room was a good size The breakfast was not good. The section of ideas was limited.
The main enter trance/ sitting area was extremely hot
- Jennifer (8/5): Very nice - It didn’t have a elavator
- Schlundt (7/5): - Facility is clean and staff friendly. We were in town for family event. It would be helpful to have grab handles in the shower/tub and non slip mats for the tub.
- Arkadiusz (8/5): -
- Melody (10/5): - After a couple of nights on our road trip at very low budget hotels, this quiet and classy hotel was the perfect antidote!
- Loretta (8/5): -
- Kimberlee (10/5): - Thank you for a relaxing stay.
- Yulia (10/5): - Convenient location. Nice service. Indoor pool and hottub is a plus.
- Tim (10/5): - The Best Western in La Pine is pretty well situated - near grocery stores, gas station and restaurants. Even though the hotel is right off the highway, our room was quiet and could barely hear the highway noise. The staff was friendly, helpful (we added an extra day) and remembered our names. The breakfast was good, plenty of choices, and a great way to start our adventure each day.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Srihari (10/5): - It wasn't cheap but it was good. The hot breakfast choices were nice
- Jan (8/5): - Was ok
- Anthony (6/5): - It was outdated with a below average breakfast. The bed was very nice and clean though. Overall, I think it's overpriced.
- Emily (9/5): - Le confort, le petit déj
- Nili (9/5): -
- Roger (9/5): Much better than expected based on previous reviews. - Overall a fine place to stay. The suite was good. Main issue was price of room which likely comes from demand with little options overall for similar properties. Hotel seemed nice and clean and breakfast was normal fare. Property has subway and McDonalds very close. Parking lot could use better lighting
- Shawn (10/5): - BEAUTIFUL ROOM
- Timothy (10/5): Very relaxing and nice rooms. Hopefully we’ll get to try out the pool next time? - Location close to the lakes and not to far from restaurants and Bend. Construction going on in the early morning
- Francis (10/5): - We stop over here quite a bit because it is so consistently reliable.
- Patricia (8/5): - Friendly staff
- Polly (8/5): - Expensive for just an average best western hotel!
- Susan (10/5): Comfortable stay - Nice staff. Clean comfortable room and good breakfast. My son loved the yogurt dispenser to make parfaits. He left his teddy bear and they held it for us while we drove back to retrieve it.
- Christina (8/5): - Kids enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. Staff was nice. Not much around to eat except McDonald's and Subway. Nice place to stop on our extended journey. We left before breakfast was served.
- Curt (10/5): - Dining was kinda of packed!
- David (10/5): - The breakfast was excellent. The room was clean. Can't ask for much more.
- laurie (10/5): Nice place and close to Crater Lake - Very clean
- Olena (10/5): -
- Lyndi (8/5): - Clean, friendly staff. Bit of a drive into town.
- Thomas (10/5): - Great place to stay. Friendly staff.
- Lynn (8/5): - Ok hotel
- terry (8/5): - We stayed a number of times at this hotel but this time we stayed in room 102 right next door to the utility room. All night the hum of the machines from that room. Making room 102 a very noisy place to sleep.
- Craig (10/5): - Fantastic! We were able to get an early check-in which really helped us in our stay in the area. Receptionist is very helpful, nice and informative. Trying breakfast soon. Bet it’s great. Loving our stay.
- Meeiling (6/5): - ICe Machine was broken, and solution was to put a garbage can to fix it.
- Beth (6/5): - Dirty carpets, musty smell. Noisy AC in the room
- Patricia (10/5): - Check in was smooth and friendly. Facility clean and quiet. Breakfast was above and beyond.
- Travis (10/5): - Great place to lay over for a night or two on trip. Great base there so much to do out
- Kevin (10/5): - The beds were comfortable and the kids were happy with the internet speed.
- sherry (10/5): Crater Lake - Comfortable and clean stay. Good choices for breakfast and friendly staff.
- francis (10/5): - We have been here many times and have never been disappointed with the accommodations
- Christina (8/5): - It was ok for a quick over night stay while traveling.
- Beth (5/5): - Breakfast was okay the toilets in the rooms are too low to the ground. For someone with a bad back and elderly have a hard time getting up and down. The toilet paper roll was located behind you and very difficult to reach.
- timothy (8/5): - Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Good location if you plan on visiting the area and sightseeing.
Could use a couple of upgrades but overall a nice comfortable place to stay.
- Nunez (9/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): -
- darlenehZ1014ES (2/5): Horrible! Cancel your reservation! - Exposed wiring, broken ripped screen, dirty old furniture, ect .. charged over $700 for 3 nights Manager Tiffanie Shaw
- Robert (6/5): - The carpet especially on the stairs in the common area was filthy. The room was ok. Microwave underpowered and freezer in refrigerator was dirty.
- Michael (6/5): - Mattresses were nice and sheets were clean. Sort of an oddly made bedding with the top sheet tucked in so well it took a little digging to find it.
But that’s minor, the hotel building was tired and in need of updating (old carpets that aren’t vacuumed that frequently and the rooms have an odor like they used to allow smoking but no longer do, but haven’t updated any of the furniture or carpet from when they did allow smoking). Elevator was out of service during our stay, so we had to lug our bags up/down the stairs.
The pool isn’t a place you’re going to want to spend much time, it’s tiny and the hot tub is sub-miniature.
But there aren’t many options in these parts, so I guess it’s the best option in town.
- Trek64707334113 (2/5): Appalled - PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS !!!!Approximately a week before I booked a room at the Best Western Newberry in La Pine Oregon, I was notified that my cousin was in ICU in Bend- to say this was shocking would be an understatement. I rushed to Bend to be at her bedside, she was only 51, and sadly she passed three days later. I drove approximately 200 miles home to pick up my husband and son and put together a few things. Also I booked a room with Best Western Newberry because I needed to go back to La Pine for an impromptu funeral for my cousin. Once I checked into the hotel and I had seen the room I was given, I was appalled! I then requested another room, but I was informed there were no available rooms, except for possibly one that wouldn’t even be open until Thursday at 2, but I would have to be out by 11, then move again to a another room that would possibly be open on Friday at 2. You can see by the attached photos unsafe exposed ducting, wires, window screen and not mention the dirty moldy stall shower. The air conditioning unit sometimes worked and I did call the front desk to asked for maintenance. I was informed not to adjust the thermostat, there were problems with the unit and it would freeze over. Therefore it was either hot in the room or freezing. I could not even open the window to cool the room off due to window screen being so damaged that insects or whatever could get in and also I was concerned for my family’s safety. The Wi-Fi was horrible! Completely unstable, it continuously dropped, I would have to re-login so often that I actually memorize the login and password. The Wi-Fi could not even support my own logged in channels on the TV. I was so fed up. I just used my own data so my son could watch shows and our cell phones could have internet. There were no power sources near the bed whatsoever so charging our phones, etc., was ridiculous. I truly did not feel safe in the room with all the issues, especially the exposed wires. Unfortunately, I felt had no other choice but to stay in the room I was given. I had to be in La Pine. I called the hotel and spoke with the manager after we checked out and got home. The hotel manager stated that the room that I thought I booked was misadvertised on the Best Western Newberry hotel webpage and I was actually booked for ADA room. Shel also stated that I should have expressed more of the issues with the room during my stay and because I did not she could only offer me $100 or $150 gift card towards another stay with best Western Hotels. I respectfully declined. I truly don’t understand what difference it would have made for me to express “more of the issues” with the room, also not to mention I would hope that a guest who actually needed a ADA room would not have to accept the
accommodations that I was given as their only choice. I would think at the very least some form of courtesy notice from the hotel explaining the condition of the room prior to my stay would have given me a choice to change the room or even upgrade before the hotel was completely booked. I was under complete distress and did not want to cause any other conflict that may have resulted in no place for my family and I to stay for my cousin‘s funeral. I chose Best Western hotel because I am a Best Western member and for over $700 for 3 nights I could depend on Best Western for decent room during this devastating, heartbreaking tragedy. Unfortunately this was not the case. Please check double check and even reconsider your stay with Best Western Newberry in La Pine Oregon
- Carolyn (2/5): Watch dog friendly - We could not stay. We booked dog friendly. Hotel was not dog friendly.
- Prasad (8/5): Very good -
- justin (6/5): - The Staff is great and location is good. I just don’t like paying double the price in the summer vs winter.
- Mariya (8/5): - The stuff was not helpful during check-in.
- Leslie (8/5): Very good -
- Dave (6/5): - Bathroom smelled like mold. Room and bathroom were clean though.
- terri (10/5): - Very happy with our stay, great location, wonderful breakfast. Staff was great, would stay again
- Nick (8/5): - I have been going to this hotel for years now, always a pleasure here. Most staff here are mostly friendly a few even smile when they greet you, the others avoid eye lol
- Richard (10/5): - Everyone was very helpful. Our room was perfect for our stay.
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - Everything but the sound of dripping water The sound of dripping water
- Lisa (10/5): - Stayed for 1 night. Great experience!
- Arthur (10/5): - We enjoyed the free breakfast. The room was very comfortable. The nearby dining options are mostly fast food but there were also some non-chain restaurants. The gas station next to the motel was convenient for ice and other provisions on our way to Crater Lake. We would stay at this Best Western again.
- Brandon (10/5): Exceptional service -
- Kevin (8/5): - We rented four rooms one of the rooms had a little bit of dry blood in the bathroom. In the other room the air vent in the bathroom was dirty. Overall everything was good.
- Menisha (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy bed, good sized room
- Mark (10/5): - Loved everything about the stay. Pool was very nice too!
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hanna (8/5): - The ants that came into our room were annoying but understandable since our room was right by the door...housekeeping did not do a good job of making sure everything was vaccumed since we found a sleeping pill under our chair....we were there with a 2 year old...i looked up the pill and it said it was taken for insomnia.
- Lisa (10/5): FANTASTIC!! - Fantastic place to stay! Charming lobby, great breakfast and the room was beautiful! Comfortable bed, spacious room and loved the fireplace! I would absolutely stay here again!
- Kwoun (2/5): - As soon as I entered the room, there was an unpleasant smell similar to foot odor. I tried adjusting the temperature, but the remote control mounted on the wall had low battery and barely worked. The bathroom was dusty in several areas, and the tissue ran out after just a few uses. Early in the morning, there was a strange knocking sound that kept waking me up. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel unless serious improvements are made.
- Boris (8/5): - No elevators, dirty carpet on the stears. Uncomfortable pillows. Good breakfast, standard.
- Tim (8/5): - A older place that is in good condition. The service at the front desk was very kind and patient with my questions. We did have room service leave dirty towels in the bathroom accidentally. Plenty of interesting sights nearby.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): - Friendly and clean
- Samantha (10/5): - It was a great overnight stay. The hotel had all the things we needed for the stopover. Highly recommend trying the Thai restaurant near the hotel too!
- Isaac (10/5): We made a week long road trip to Northern California. We stayed one night going and one night returning. We will repeat - Location! Easy access and away from busy city streets.
- John (6/5): It'll do for the tired traveler. - I like the Lapine location. No elevators and the place needed some housekeeping TLC. Our room was next to the staircase and it made it almost unbearable.
- Z4853BSbonniew (10/5): Great place to stay! - The staff at BW Newberry were very friendly and helpful. Everyone we interacted with greeted us and offered assistance. The entire facility was clean and fresh. The room very comfortable, including a great bed! The location is quiet enough to open the windows! We will return.
- John (10/5): Friendly staff, very nice place! -
- Jason (10/5): - Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Check-in Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- justin (10/5): - Good and handy place to stay while working in LaPine
