Delphine (8/5): Good value for the price - Good location and value, clean and comfortable (not big though) room with everything expected. We didnt try the breakfast and the pool, but they were probably worth the price. Noisy parking lot near a busy road. Some neighbors left early and their car engine was so loud, you can hear everything unfortunately. No liquid soap in the shower.

Eric (8/5): Clean, comfortable stay with good space. - Easy to access and the bed was comfortable. The blackout curtains were excellent. Also great to have the small patio The screen door to the patio was off the tracks and the outlet features on the lamps did not work.
Susan (7/5): I would definitely stay here again if I visit Petaluma in the future. - The location was great, since it was only a short drive to my brother's assisted living facility. The breakfast was very good, for being a basic continental breakfast. And the restaurant attached to the breakfast room behind the pool (Cafe Bellini?) was excellent. Our key let us into our room when we first arrived, but the second time we tried to get into our room, the key didn't work. In addition, after we got into our room the first time and were resting, another guest used her key and entered our room unexpectedly! (Fortunately, she was very friendly, and we were clothed, so no harm was done!) Also, the virtual clerk at the front desk is a little disconcerting. The clerk we had who checked us in on our most recent visit was very friendly and obviously enjoyed her work. But it's too bad we can't hire local people to check us into our rooms. I guess we will have to expect these sorts of adjustments if we want to keep prices low.

Maria (7/5): Overall, great place and staff, perfect location. Will consider BWH for future travels. - The friendliness of everyone in the staff. It felt like it transferred to everyone staying at the hotel and thus making the atmosphere quite enjoyable. We came back to the room after a long and exhausting day, looking forward to having an in room meal and to rest but our room keys stopped working. We had to go into the office and wait in line to get help. It was fixed rather quickly but an unexplained and uncomfortable bump at the end of a long day. Once we get in our room, we noticed the fridge had stopped working sometime during the day. The ice had melted from the freezer and fallen on all our food. Again, it was fixed rather quickly but once again unexplained and annoying.

Got to the room and there was a dirty napkin jammed in the peep hole, a booger on the bath towel, and stains on the pillow. Only a virtual employee there to help. Went to the lobby the next morning and still only a virtual employee. Ridiculous!

Cheryl (8/5): Pleasant clean room, Nice complimentary breakfast - Nice spacious clean room. Good value for the area. Friendly staff, Breakfast had plenty of seating, many hot and cold options. The attendant was the best part of breakfast, she was welcoming and friendly and attentive. Parking lot was very full when we returned after dinner, possibly because of happy hour at next door restaurant. We were unable to park in the lot, had to park next door. That was very inconvenient because we had the handicap room and even every handicap parking spot was taken. By late evening a parking spot opened up in the lot and we were able to at least get our car into the motel lot.

Used by many workers passing through which made the place feel very functional (in a good way!). A virtual agent? He was fine, but what about supporting the locals with jobs? Pool was closed for the season? Which season it was hitting 26-29 degree the days I was there.

Mary Beth (9/5): I would stay there & recommend others the same. - 3/13/26/Rm 373 desk dual light did not work and it was not the light bulbs. Probably not the light as both toggle buttons did not turn either of them on. The bulbs worked in other lamps. Probably the wall socket behind the huge cab for engineering to check out. I didn't call, but left a note.
311cbm (4/5): Bad experience checking in. - Upon check in, there was a screen with a person on the other side. The screen person was uninformed. When we arrived, we saw a promotion of which we qualified, but the screen person did not tell us how to qualify for it. He told us that we would receive the promotion. Later we received a call from the front desk telling us we did not qualify because we didn’t register prior to checking in. The screen person told us that he needed a credit card for amenities and we would be charged when we departed the hotel because we wanted to split the bill. He lied to us again. He charged us at that time. When we departed, no one was available to help us split the bill. If screen person is the direction Best Western is going…I will look at other hotels in the area next year for my stay. So much for hospitality service! Also, there was mold in the shower.
Jammie (7/5): The breakfast food is decent. It’s not something you say oh I look forward too, but the gal that works there in the morn - I liked the size of the 2 King Beds with sofa and chair. I’ve stayed here many times and had no idea this was an option until this stay. Luckily they gave user plugs because the street noise is very loud. It was very weird to be checked in by a do it yourself Kiosk but the guy from India we spoke to was very nice & friendly and engaging.

Adrian (5/5): - Location is good, breakfast is great, staff is nice I failed to notice the hotel allows pets, but I have stayed in hotels with pets before and i've never had any issues with cleanliness, odor, or otherwise . We had to move from our first room because of the smell. The second rule was only slightly better, and we only tolerated it because our stay was only for one night, but despite the dog smell covered in room deodorants, we came home , itching and sneezing the entire time. Not only diid the room smell, the bed had dog hair in it.

Roger Mont (9/5): Good for a short stay. - The complimentary breakfast is pretty decent, the room is cozy and the location is close to a gas station and shops. When I arrived there was a weird smell in the room, similar to humidity. The bath didn't properly work.

Cheryl (9/5): exceeded my expectations. Clean, great breakfast and surprisingly quiet considering it’s near a busy intersection and h - clean, cooperative front desk when I had a booking issue which is key in this time of unavailable and impatient staff! Did not like the Virtual staff when front desk staff was gone. They did not tell me that it would be more expensive to book an extra night versus going online as I did the first night.
Larinda (8/5): Clean & Comfortable (if you can get through the check-jn process) - I appreciate the friendly (on-site) staff. The beds are very comfortable and luxurious, and rooms are clean and well-stocked with amenities. I don't like the new check in procedure with a video screen and a cs agent in India. It was an adjustment when the new owners switched to this method of customer service and the cs agents were in Columbia, BUT the people in Columbia proved to be sharp and considerate, friendly and professional. The people in India don't seem to understand simple requests, nor do they care. Guests want a personal interaction with someone who appreciates their business, and is able to accommodate requests. This needs to be improved.

I am going again on business next week and am staying where there is a staff person to check you in, not someone you talk to through a screen. I was not alone checking in and being sent your room number in an email is stupid as is talking to a screen to check in and get your room key. Bad practice. Guests do not know where to go.

Craig (8/5): - Close to Safeway and downtown. Breakfast Virtual hotel receptionist, I miss the in-person hotel receptionist. The Bogota, Columbian virtual hotel receptionist probably doesn't pay taxes to CA & USA. Freeway 101 road noise
Madhu (2/5): Motel 8 for the Price of Best Western - Location was OK. Breakfast was minimal and the breakfast room crowded. Very limited Breakfast choices. No Parking spaces by the room. On-line remote check-in and check-out staff. Room more like Motel 8 rather than like Best Western.

Very clean, quiet considering being near the highway. Breakfast was mediocre, wet underdone eggs, soggy sausage and bacon. Waffles were fun for my grandson.

Daniel (8/5): Clean and tidy, excellent price and location! Try to avoid the video call check in device though! - Great location, very clean, good breakfast, good price. The staff at the desk were good - but there was also an electronic presence device that handled some things and when I tried to use it, the ambient noise of the room was too loud for mic to pick up my voice etc. I’d rather just speak to a human in person.

Paul (9/5): I stay here every time I come to Petaluma. - Everything was great. 1. Remote check in kiosk (like a call center in India on video). Not a good touch though it did work fine. 2. I stay here all the time. Location is at a busy intersection which doesn’t bother me though. The trade off for a very convenient place.

IrishEyes0620 (6/5): Never Again - Imagine my surprise when there is no desk staff, just a kiosk with a virtual assistant. I think this was the last straw for me. Last year we had a room in December with a non-working heater and dark lighting. We ended up having to change rooms. This visit the restaurant closed at 7pm on a Sunday. I ordered delivery and I had to stand in the open doorway so I could get a signal. The hotel’s wifi doesn’t seem to work. It was difficult to watch the television because the hotel uses Dish Network and it was raining. It is impossible to see the room numbers at night. I will not stay here again.
