- Fernando (3/5): It was overall poor - It was in a decent location The beds where very uncomfortable
I kept getting locked out of my room the lock was messed up
The room was very very dirty
Bathroom ceiling was peeling and no hot water
- Karolina (9/5): -
- Sabrina (4/5): - Netter Poolbereich, gute Lage Ultra kleines Bad und kleines Bett.
- Marilyn (10/5): - The staff was exceptional, we asked for an additional chair to sit out in the evening, and when we got back from dinner, the chair was in our room . Location was good, walking distance to a restaurant. Room was clean and comfy. Liked every thing - whenever there is a good staff/owner, then all is good!
- Rymer (10/5): -
- Travis (6/5): - The air conditioner wasn’t on when I arrived so of course it took a while for it to cool off. The motel room was clean but the mattress was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced; luckily I was able to sleep five hours and get back on the road.
This was my first work trip to Carlsbad. If there is a next time, I’ll definitely stay somewhere else.
- Ken (6/5): - All ok, except for TRAFFIC NOISE, which would keep me from ever staying here again or recommending to anyone else.
- Daniel (2/5): - Linens were unacceptable. Tolerated crowd in and around the property made for uncomfortable and wary circumstances. Did not believe property was amenable to a good nights rest and safekeeping of property. Employee’s were polite and made offers to switch rooms, but even the cleanest room wasn’t going to make us feel safe for ourselves or property, and then stuck to their guns on the fine print. Didn’t stay the night, and we’re not getting a refund. C’est la vie…
- Tim (8/5): - Nice hotel and very nice staff. A bit noisy due to being on a main road, but overall a good value. Pool was clean too.
- Renée (9/5): - l'emplacement pour la visite de Carlsbad Caverns le bruit inintérompu de la route principale très proche
- Vanessa (1/5): Dirty. Didn't stay - Dirty asked for refund and left
- Rachel (6/5): - Room was near the front office, could hear traffic from main road all night
- Sunny L (10/5): - Okay
- Lucas (9/5): -
- Edgar (8/5): Good location and value - Good location and value for what you get , staff friendly , rooms acceptable for short period beds are not the best ...a mattress change can be improved
- Leticia rocio (6/5): - Cant say much for the $spent . Its a cheap stay couldn't expect more
- Rocco (6/5): - You get what you pay for but honestly its not the worst
- Aelicia (1/5): -
- Natalie (6/5): Fine for a quick nights stay - Room was dingy, but pretty clean. Easy quick check in. Not terrible for a quick nights stay and the price.
- Button (8/5): -
- Judith (5/5): -
- Marilynn (10/5): Great place! - Comfortable, clean, quiet.
- Leana (10/5): - Clean place, very nice room
- S (7/5): Low price...Peased more than expected. I don't think they offered breakfast but saw coffee. - Great price! Clean room and privacy! Playground equipment for kids. The bed could be more comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although all properties are expensive in this area, this one was a great value for the price, especially because of the pool and the air conditioner in the room. Both of those were great!
- KENT (10/5): - There were flies in the bathroom
- Hector (10/5): Good times at the Carlsbad Inn - The hotel was great, pool was well maintained and clean, we were on motorcycles and owners offered us towels (old ones of course) so we could shine them up after a long ride. I noticed an array of workers (oil field related) but every one was respectful and personable (I believe the hotel staff reflected that) and quiet hours were respected. I would not hesitate to bring wife and kids there, a very safe environment.
- Emilio (6/5): Pleasant - The pool & play area were great. The room wasn't very clean, the headboards to the bed were filthy like they had never been wiped down. The beds were hard. Also left the do not disturb sign on the door but housekeeping still went into the room.
- Sofia (8/5): Very good -
- Denise (7/5): Good - The location The bed wasn't all that comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was ok, can hear traffic off highway all night. Service was good.
- Cass (7/5): Cheap & cheeful - you get what you pay for! -
- Patricia (7/5): Good -
- Brian (10/5): - Standard roadside motel, reasonably comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the excellent ice machine on the very hot day we were there. Playground is probably ready to be torn down, seemed a bit unsafe.
- Ezequiel (8/5): - Property was good room smelled a little like smoke and the A/C unit was old needs to be replaced asap it made a lot of noise.. and it smells bad. Also the towels for the restrooms are really bad like a 0 out of a 10 they need to be changed all asap they have spots and blood spots nasty I would not stay there again…
- Carol (6/5): To close to the road. Loud /noisy from street. Heard every noise from outside. - Close to things Water flooded restrooms from outside walls
- Clifton (6/5): - We asked a few times to repair the toilet because it did not stop running. It was never fixed. The towels were small and thin. And only one small bar of soap and one shampoo were provided. We had to ask for more. I was disappointed.
- Shannon (6/5): Good deal for the money. - Rooms are dated but clean. You can hear traffic noise well so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs. The pool looked great but we didn’t get a chance to use it.
- Keith (8/5): - Totally serviceable, cheap hotel with a helpful staff.
- Deanna (6/5): - The room was clean and quiet. Bed was good. But not sure about people living there. It was adequate for our needs.
- Leslie (8/5): - Had everything u needed but noisy
- James (6/5): - Very busy noisy area and heavy traffic. Rooms were redone over. Ok. Better places up the road 4 or 5 miles.
- Armando (1/5): Bad -
- sharon (6/5): - This property was good for the price. It was dated, so some things weren't perfect, like the air conditioner was a bit loud, the bathroom could use new caulking in places and the carpet is getting tired. But, it was pretty clean and did the trick for a few, unplanned nights in a hotel. (we were supposed to go camping.)
- Ruby (8/5): - No frills, but clean, quiet. Everything modern except bathroom.
- Ondřej (9/5): Great accommodation by the US Highway 285 - Comfortable bed, AC, bathtub, fridge, microwave.
- Jonas (7/5): Good -
- Lena (8/5): Convenient and glad we could book last minute. - The rooms were okay and met my expectations.
- Dennis (4/5): Not the best place and will never stay here again! - I will never stay here again!!
I booked and paid for a queen bed and he gave me a room with 2 double beds.
I asked him to honor my reservation and he said too bad - things happen.
The street noise is horrible so don't expect a quiet night sleep!
- Gill (8/5): Very good stay - Staff very helpful. Beds comfy. Nothing
- Guadalupe (5/5): Passable -
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Strickland (8/5): Very good - free breakfast, no carpet in the room, nice size room, comfy beds staff were friendly. some fixtures in the room were coming off the wall. location is right next to the freeway which is good and bad.
- Christopher (7/5): Well located for our purpose, well priced. - The location was on a busy main road but the accommodation was acceptable and clean. Only used as one night stop before a visit to Carlsbad Caverns, it suited our purpose and was well priced. It has been recent refurbished, but down to a price. The room was large, everything worked, although we booked a double bed we felt the size was a little small.
- Shahnewaz (9/5): Superb - It was clean, rooms, toilet everything was specious and comfortable. The bed was full size which was not specious enough for two persons. Queen size would be better. Other than that everything was perfect.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was ok. Microwave old, internet not working, TV not working with provide (no signal), loud neighbors
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (2/5): Avoid at ALL Costs - I have stayed in 100s of hotels/motels in the USA and Europe over the past 40 years and this one gets the award for being the worst. I paid for 2 nights but left after 1 miserable sleepless night. The motel is next to an intersection and the road noise was overwhelming ALL night long (and I use earplugs but they were useless). Half of this run down, totally outdated motel was occupied by oil and gas workers who all noisily left between 5 to 6 am. Just a plain miserable excuse for lodging.
- Mary (10/5): - It was fine
- Cindy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Billingsley (10/5): Nice place to stay - I was greeted by a young woman, She had a smile and was friendly, That is always good to see after a long drive.
It is an older hotel but was kept up, water pressure in the shower was great, bed was comfortable and the room was nice and clean. There was a restaurant right around the corner (walking distance). I will make a point to stay there again when in the area. there was nothing I did not like about the Carlsbad Inn
- kevin (8/5): - Room was just fine, to much traffic noise, but overall enjoyed our stay
- Butch (7/5): It was adequate for what we needed, but not what I expected from the website. - The room was clean and I could tell had been recently renovated. There was no breakfast not even cereal
- Subharag (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (6/5): Good stay except for one thing… - Overall, the room was good. Most likely I’d stay there again. Only reason for 3 stars is we didn’t find out until the morning that the hot water handle in the shower didn’t work. We only stayed one night, so by the time we discovered this, there was no time to do anything about it.
Aside from that, the room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend, but soon as you check in, check the shower faucet :-)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfortable & conveniently located - Pristine clean in the room, comfortable bed and sofa, appreciated the fridge and microwave. Staff so polite! Pool wasn't open at time of visit. Convenient to groceries, restaurants, parks and of course the Caverns.
- Shane (7/5): Great price for value - Great price, located on the Main Street Cars on the road can be slightly loud at night
- RAYMOND (10/5): - Great stay
Unlimited soaking in RT66 room
Safe and friendly
- London (8/5): Very good - Good for the price, wasn't the cleanest room ever but it wasn't horrible TV was messing up
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (10/5): - It’s my 5th year choosing to stay at Carlsbad INN because of the service, clean rooms, pool and great price !
- Simona (8/5): A comfortable stay on our journey acrosd the US - Nice clean room, comfortable beds No breakfast (but we knew that ahead if time), old-style heater/A/C with no thermostat (but it worked and warmed tbe room),
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ames (10/5): - Good hotel, great value.
- Tonya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Phillip (9/5): Overall it was a good stay. - Location was good. The price was good. A breakfast would have been nice.
- Nichols (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (4/5): A dump for workmen - This place is a dump, but the workmen use it. We specifically requested a first floor room. They lied to us and said one was not available. But when I got there and the air-conditioning was so loud I was going to walk out on them, they moved me to a first floor room. That is how I know they lied to me. If so many workmen use it, it serves a purpose. That is the best I can say about these liars.
- Deborah (2/5): - The shower head was sticking out of a hole in the wall. The toilet wouldn’t flush correctly. The bathroom window let cold air in.
Only a bed spread over top sheet. Other that that, the rug looked new and was clean.
- Saiz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristel (8/5): Great Value for the money - Good motel. Clean. Well kept up. Short jaunt to Carlsbad Caverns. Close to other services, grocery store and laundromat. Cleaning supplies smell in the motel was overwhelming and had to air out room.
- Eddie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was good!
- Ivan (7/5): Very convenient place to stay after a full day at Carlsbad Caverns National Park!!! - Really liked that there was a sofa in the room! We asked for a room on the ground floor and we received one. The motel was right on the road that we would be traveling on the next day! Thought that the price was a little too high.
- 640antond (2/5): Charged twice - The motel double-charged me for a single night’s stay, which was incredibly frustrating. When I tried to address the issue, the receptionist was not only dismissive but also outright rude. They refused to acknowledge the duplicate charge and insisted it wasn't possible, showing no willingness to resolve the problem. After my stay, I discovered that the property had canceled my booking without explanation—likely to avoid any negative reviews and complicate the chargeback process. The lack of professionalism and accountability was appalling. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.
- Anton (1/5): Charged twice - A decent motel, you get what you pay for, may be a bit overpriced. The motel double-charged me for a single night’s stay, which was incredibly frustrating. - John (10/5): Watch the bat program - The Cave was incredible
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
