- Seth (1/5): Worst Hotel - Nothing Everything. I was unable to stay due to no parking. The front desk guy was extremely rude and said I would have to park 2 blocks away and walk with all my stuff. Also told me there was nowhere to take my dogs potty, when I booked it, it said good place for dogs. Experience was so terrible I had to go book another room elsewhere even though this place was still going to charge me regardless if I stayed or not. Terrible management and staff. Worst hotel experience I've ever had.

- Thomas (9/5): All great - location, kindness and efficiency of staff, comfort of room - Sadly just one night in San Diego, and my first visit too. I'd love to go back and stay here. I arrived quite late on a Saturday evening, so the neighbourhood was super-busy (in a good way) and it was an extra bonus to find that facing out on a side street ended up being surprisingly peaceful. The staff could not have been more welcoming and more helpful. The room was a very good size, and although quite simply furnished, spotless and 100% comfortable. This is an unfair "what didn't you like?" ... Coming from the UK, the price seems quite high BUT it seems that this is actually pretty good value in CA!

- Sepideh (5/5): Good location, descent hotel - I think the location was good, the place was clean, and the staff were friendly; they suggested a coffee place which was good and close by (spill the Beans). We had no internet connection for two days until they fixed the issue; the bed was too soft, causing us back pain, specially as we had booked the place for several days. We also had to come to the lobby to get drinking water every time.

Hotel piccolo (solo 4 piani), ma per questo molto meglio dei grandi hotel di lusso che sono nelle vicinanze. All'arrivo borraccia (in regalo) con possibilità di refill acqua fresca tutte le volte che si vuole. Possibilità di usare biciclette dell'hotel gratuitamente. - Abigail (7/5): Aight. - Location, cleanliness, coffee and tea inside the room. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom. The doggy cookies were a nice touch too. Random fee for... I forgot what they called it when we got there that was not in the original payment but it mainly covered for random drinks we were given upon arrival that were not actually necessary. The television we got also had five huge white dots on it so we were all watching Twister as a family in bad quality. I also hated that it was one price four days before and then it went up like... $50 and we had to get the accessibility room that we did not need.

- Robinson (6/5): I feel it had a more hostel vibe than hotel vibe and was expensive for the value. - Staff were exceptionally friendly. The hotel was a block away from the GasLamp Quarter, convenient for night life but quiet for sleeping. The bed was very comfortable. There was a keurig coffee maker in the room (bring you own K-cups) and a hair dryer. My requests went unanswered, which was disappointing. The outlets by the nightstands did not work and I asked for a solution so I could charge my phone, watch, etc., next to the bed. They were going to send up an extension cord for a solution, but it was never received. There was no housekeeping during my stay (3 nights). Fortunately, I was a solo traveler, and two towels were plenty for me. It would have been nice to have the trash emptied at least once. There was no light in the closet area which made it difficult to see my suitcase and clothes. The television, which I rarely use, had Pixels missing, maybe? There were 5 annoying "spotlights" on the screen when watching any channel.

Although I was told an early check-in was approved, I had to wait over an hour to get a room. had to be escorted to room, as room keys were not available to anyone because of the transition - not ideal. Asked for a quiet room and got a noisy second floor room with windows facing a noisy parking lot and street - heard cars, sirens, people parking and talking through the late morning. Bed was not great. Bathroom was substandard and had deteriorated drywall in shower. I will never stay here again and suggest that you do not.

For 1 person, short stay, it's fine. The outlets need to be replaced. They were all loose. Charging station needs to be updated to accommodate USB-C. I just used my own external battery.

Remote control batteries were dead and front desk person said they couldn’t help because they are out of batteries. 2 days later when the other front desk person took a remote from and empty room for us to use, the tv has bright spots all over it when on. Very small room. Very comfortable bed. They only clean the rooms every other day and somehow that meant one time over 4 nights.

Sehr schöne Frühstückcafés in wenigen Schritten. Ruhiges, geräumiges Zimmer mit Kaffeemaschine und anderen Goodies. Fahrrad kann ausgeliehen werden. Die Zimmerreinigung war nicht effektiv.
- 453gerryk (8/5): Great place to stay - The hotel is perfectly located in the Gaslamp district with easy connections by tram and bus. It is nice and quiet with comfortable rooms. Central water bar and coffee facility in the room makes life easy. Staff is really friendly and help. Free water botte, very nice. Plenty of umbrellas to borrow, fortunately I did not need one. You can also borrow a bike. The only drawback I could find, you cannot contact the hotel via the staypineapple hotline. Super breakfast places nearby

- TraceyB674 (10/5): Quick Weekend Trip - Had a great weekend getaway in San Diego and stayed at the Hotel Z. We are huge fans of Stay Pineapple hotels (have stayed in Chicago and New York too.) This one did not disappoint. GREAT location so that we didn't have to rent a car. We walked, used public transit or borrowed their bikes to get around. We got suggestions from the front desk folks for breakfasts (all of which turned out great!) The room was a great size and very comfortable. 10/10 and would stay there again and again!!

It is all basic but we were out exploring and only needed a place to crash at the end of the day. The location was great, easy walking to everything. Don't expect spectacular views. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the "resort fee", completely unnecessary add on.

- Marilyn (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. - The location was perfect since we were to Petco Park. The price was reasonable for its location. The staff was very helpful, especially Alan. The room was comfortable and we were provided with everything we needed. We were lucky to find street parking because it's so expensive to park downtown.
- Kenia (6/5): - I stayed in a king suite and it was a pretty big room but it was a long room rather than big all over. I didn't mind it because it was still big anyway. The fridge and microwave were useful and clean. I wasn't aware how dog friendly the place is, i loved it and i know where ill stay if i visit san diego again with my fur baby. I stayed there for three days/ two nights and they didn't come not once to clean the room. Lots of positives but I REALLY didn't like that.
- Jesse (10/5): All-in-all a great value being so close to everything in the GasLamp district. - I liked (1) the decor; (2) cleanliness of the room; (3) beautiful setup of the room; (4) air conditioning; (5) the thermostat with the option for just air (not air conditioning) low or just high or automatic; (6) the body lotion in the bathroom; (7) the coffee setup; (8) being so close to everything in the GasLamp District! (9) only a 10 minute walk to the convention center. In Room 106, the (1) TV worked well but probably needed to be replaced since it had big white dots that looked like the sun was on a person's face. It wasn't really bad, though, just slightly annoying; (2) there was no iron and ironing board since I was there for a conference but I asked for one and within a few minutes, they appeared! Very responsive. TYSM! (3) I was on the first floor and I could see there was somewhat of an alleyway outside of my room so I closed the double blind and was fine.
- Paula (4/5): I was very disappointed with the parking and bedding. - When we checked in the clerks were very welcoming. They went out of their way to help us solve our parking issue. No valet! No parking! You had to find parking at public lots near by. Late in the evening we found overnight parking four blocks away.
- Emily (10/5): great hotel, I would look to stay at others in the chain in the future - theme was fun for the hotel. It was memorable compared to other chain hotels. I liked the bright yellow throughout the hotel and the pictures on the hotel room doors were fun. No views from the windows, but I like that the room had windows with natural light even if there wasn't a nice view.

- John (9/5): Very Fun! - Staff was excellent and location was perfect for exploring Gaslamp District. Hotel had unexpected extras which made it a joy to stay at. Rooms were a little noisy so it was easy to hear people walking in the rooms above

- Joonha (10/5): - 출장지가 샌디에고 컨벤션 센터였는데, 걸어서 갈 수 있을 정도로 위치가 좋았습니다. 공항과도 우버로 부담없는 거리였습니다. 객실에 슬리퍼가 따로 없어서 아쉬웠습니다.
- bruceh742 (10/5): Very welcoming, accommodating reasonably priced hotel - I was very impressed with the Stay Pineapple experience from making the reservation to receiving a personal email to arriving and receiving the wonderful hospitality to staying in the nicely laid out, clean, comfortable room. It was a very clean, adequately fixtured room with a great comfortable bed and a very nice shower. I highly recommend this hotel in the Gaslamp district very close to the port for cruising and the airport.

- U8308VDterrig (10/5): great hotel at a great price - This simple and basic hotel was in a great location, extremely clean, awesome bed & pillows, super quiet overnight, great shower with a tall enough head and great water pressure. Rooms was small but adequate, complimentary water in room + robes & coupons for 2 free beverages. Staff went above and beyond to visit and offer suggestions such as Lyft over a cab & great B'fast recommendation at 6th & G just 2 blocks away.
- anselmode (10/5): Great Value Stay in the Gaslamp with Excellent Service - I had a great stay at Hotel Z and would absolutely recommend it. From the moment I checked in, the experience was top notch. Alan made check in smooth and enjoyable. He was incredibly friendly, very detailed in explaining the hotel’s features, and accommodating with all of my requests. His hospitality really set the tone for the stay. The room itself was excellent. The bed and comforter were extremely comfortable, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep. The internet was fast and reliable, which was perfect for working remotely. I also appreciated the thoughtful perks like the free welcome drink and the robes provided in the room. The stay was also very affordable, especially considering the location in the Gaslamp Quarter. Being within walking distance to a lot of great food spots, nightlife, and popular San Diego attractions made it an even better value. The thermostat worked perfectly, so the room stayed at a comfortable temperature throughout my stay, and the shower had great water pressure, which was a nice bonus. Overall, Hotel Z delivered comfort, convenience, and excellent service. I would happily stay here again the next time I am in San Diego.
