- Val (10/5): - The 1770 House Restaurant is a very nice B&B. The restaurant was terrific. We had dinner there. My one reservation is that there was no hot breakfast (other than toasted items) during our stay (from Sunday to Wednesday). The continental breakfast consisted of items that were refrigerated but tasty.

The service was IMPECCABLE while unpretentious, and I was quickly accommodated with any and all requests. Highly recommend if you are out East and want a TRUE Hamptons stay.

This was our first time visiting the Hamptons and the inn keeper was very helpful with finding things we might be interested in doing. I appreciated her phone call before we arrived to ensure we'd have everything we needed when we arrived. We had dinner in the tavern one night and the meal was spectacular. Some of the inn keeper's recommendations for activities were actually closed (not opened for the season or bc of covid restrictions), which we found out after doing more research. The breakfast was delicious, however, it took over 60 minutes on the first day and there was a lack of communication about why. We thought about going elsewhere the next day but gave it another chance and it was much faster on the second day of our stay. The room was clean and comfy, perfect for our two night stay. The location is great and we enjoyed the short walk to town. I would recommend this inn.

All members of the staff were welcoming and professional giving exceptionally service and suggestions to enhance our stay. The Inn is lovely and spotlessly kept. Both restaurants, the Tavern and main dinning room offer delicious selections, and the wait staff is well trained and congenial! I highly recommend this gem for a relaxing experience.

I went into breakfast thinking it would be a muffin and coffee, but what I was served was a menu of at least 7 different options that were delicious. We ate in the Tavern on night 1 for dinner and I had the prix fixe menu (the same food they serve in the main dining room) and my husband had their famous burger. The service was AMAZING and the food and cocktails were great. Definitely get the Montauk fluke appetizer! The staff was incredibly friendly and you will definitely want to connect with Randy to learn what to do in the area. She is so passionate about The Hamptons and will provide so many ideas on what you can do for your day. The location is fantastic too because if you just want to stroll in the town of East Hampton you are only about 2-3 blocks away. I'll definitely be back

- Verified traveler (10/5): A special retreat - This is a great traditional American inn that manages to be timeless and a bit nostalgic, but without being stuffy. The bedroom was very comfortable, warm and cozy - perfect for a cold February with snow on the ground. Every room is different, and the whole place is filled with personality and charm. Cooked weekend breakfasts are delicious, as is the weekday continental which is several steps above what passes for breakfast at most hotels. Dinner (which for us was a valentines day special prix fix) was absolutely outstanding, in quality of food and service, in a beautiful dining room. The staff are delightful - friendly, kind and helpful and helped to make our long weekend stay enjoyable from beginning to end. Can't wait to return!

The accommodations were luxurious, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. It felt like a real treat to be here. In fact, no one wanted to leave to explore the Hamptons because there was such a relaxing and cozy feel to the place. Randye and Carol were incredibly helpful as well. We appreciated the easy free parking and the complimentary breakfast each morning. We look forward to returning again soon.
- Sumana (10/5): Old-school charm with high-end amenities - The room and facilities are beautiful, warm, and inviting. Breakfast was included and the self-serve options were extensive. And if you’re into dining, they have both a prix fixe dinner menu and a beautiful Tavern (complete with cozy fireplace) you can choose from to dine in. It’s also walking distance from the center of town with a myriad of open shops to choose from!

We were only there for two nights for our mini moon, but we were welcomed as family immediately upon our arrival. We had dinner our first night there and the food was delicious and savory. We can’t wait till we go back next fall for our 1 year anniversary. Thank you to the staff at the 1770!

- ROBERT (10/5): Nice and Quiet! - Despite being on the main highway to the east end of Long Island, our room was amazingly quiet. The outdoor eating area was nicely isolated and quiet as well. There were a couple of minor repair issues with our room, but it was neat and clean. One disappointment: After leaving a tip on the nightstand, we checked out. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed on the receipt that I'd been charged a 5% gratuity. I've never seen that on a room bill before. Not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but not a pleasant surprise.

- Ignacio (10/5): - Beautiful inn. Great location on Main Street. Randye was fantastic. Inn provides everything you need to go to the beach: parking permit, towels, chairs and beach umbrella. They make recommendations for restaurants and even make the reservations for you. Restaurant at the inn was great, but on the expensive side. Still, great choice for your first night. Will definitely stay again.

Randye as innkeeper is very friendly and informative. She knows the area very well. Recommendations for places to eat out were first rate. The room we occupied (room 1) is spacious and well equipped. We were there just at the turn of seasons and it does feel special to sit by the fireside in such a lovely setting.

- Dawn (10/5): Charming inn - Charming inn, walking distance to the shops and some historic sites. We stayed in room 6 which was very well appointed and comfortable. Dinner and breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We preferred the atmosphere and decor downstairs at the restaurant (they call it the tavern, it has the same menu as upstairs which was nice too, we just preferred the coziness of downstairs). The customer service from the hotel staff was excellent as well. We would absolutely return!

I asked for vegan options at breakfast and was accommodated, which was appreciated. Restaurant downstairs should work on having more vegetarian/vegan options but Bobette’s on New Town Lane is a terrific spot for eating out with these options.

The Innkeeper, Randye, was a delight, a font of knowledge, a warm and welcoming presence. I felt we were cherished friends staying in a beautiful historic family home.

- Carolyn (10/5): - This is a Bed & Breakfast and it’s a beautiful historical property. As such, if you have difficulty with stairs, this is probably not for you. However, I loved it! It reminded me of my grandparents Victorian home where I used to spend part of my summers growing up. The staff and manager at 1770 House could not have been and friendlier or more helpful. I highly recommend 1770 House for your stay in East Hampton!

We stayed in Room 6, which was very cozy and clean. The continental breakfast served was plentiful and delicious. We dined at the restaurant both nights we stayed (once at the tavern, once at the main dining room). Both food and service were excellent. If we are in the area in the future we will definitely be staying at 1770 again.
