Guest Reviews
- Amy (10/5): - Great
- Concreshia (8/5): - Need to finish renovation
- Peggy (6/5): - Will not be staying again
- Verified traveler (4/5): Rude, rundown, and dirty - We called the morning of, to let them know we would be checking in at 11:15 pm (road trip).
They called me FOUR separate times to ask if I had a dog( i don’t and had to tell them each time) so that was just weird.
We show up at about 11 and have to ring the service bell for about 20 minutes before someone finally came to the window. When she did, she was wearing pajamas and was clearly sleeping. (Okay, weird again but whatever- family business or something) she was immediately irritated that we were there. She asked me TWO MORE TIMES if I had a dog!?
Anyway, the actual problems were her being rude, trying to get me to pay an amount that was different than what I had already paid on hotels.com, asking me “what I was afraid of” when I told her I was only going to pay the amount on my confirmation.
I eventually gave in and gave her my card, I was exhausted and needed to sleep.
We get into the room, it’s disgusting.
No sheets on the bed, stains on the pillow cases, stains on the mattresses, shower curtain falling off and no inner liner. The mini fridge in the room didn’t work. Curtains didn’t close all the way and had been previously broken.
I knew this was an “economy” type listing but y’all the basics were not there. All I wanted was a place to sleep a few hours and shower before hitting the road again.
Just avoid. Drive another 30 minutes to anywhere else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Decent hotel for the price.
- Christian and Tabatha (4/5): - Decent for the price. Advertised as having free breakfast and WiFi, but neither were available. For some reason, pets only allowed on ground floor, which meant we did not get the room/bed requested. Bug-free and tidy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): descent place to stay in country - For being in then middle of no where’s! It was a descent county hotel!
- henry (8/5): Nice reasonable place and modest price - It was in the middle of Mississippi and being evacuated from Louisiana it was a pleasure
- Timothy (8/5): - Internet wasn't usable for me. No phone for wake up call, but lady at check-in let me borrow an old-school clock radio. She was certainly trying to be accommodating. Plenty of room, mini-fridge & A/C worked great, as did TV. Good shower. Gas station/convenience store across the street.
- Roy (2/5): Most Disgusting Dirty Hotel Ever - Dirtest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Dirty walls and flies everywhere. One light in bathroom area not working. Remote control not working-dead bateries. Totally disgusting. Sleeping area light has no light bulb in it. Just counted over twenty flies on walls.
- kenneth (4/5): - Have never felt so unwanted in my life. Still don't know if I was staying at a Red Carpet Inn or Royal Inn. Registration card said Red Carpet, so did business card. Receipt showed it was Royal Inn. Trucks on highway made it very noisy.
Did not even want to ask a question at front desk not friendly at all. Information given was bad or incorrect.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A true review - Management was attentive but should be more reserved when complaining about other guests.
- Kristi (2/5): Unprofessional staff. Not friendly - Lady at front desk claimed she didn’t have my reservation then overcharged me! Made me pay a higher rate, staff was unbelievably rude
- April (2/5): ☹ - This hotel was filthy!! We could not even stay!! We had to pay for one night( was supposed to stay 3) left and found a new hotel!
- charles (2/5): Stay away - Wifi kept going in out out of 3 nights only 1 night of room service.beds are hard.
- Tmmy (10/5): - I am always pleased when I stay here. The hotel manager is very friendly and takes good care of me!!
- Amberly (4/5): Worst place we've ever stayed. - Only good thing was the rooms were clean. The beds were so hard we might as well have slept on the floor. The pillows were only an inch thick and were just as hard as the bed. The a/c would not stay on. It took all night for the room to finally cool down enough to sleep. It was cooler outside than in the room. We could also hear every single thing the drunk people next door to use were doing. Front desk did nothing about any of it. We are never staying there again. I wouldnt suggest Red Carpet Inn in Taylorsville, MS for anyone what so ever.
- Kassidy (8/5): Quaint small town motel - It’s not a bad place. I can tell they don’t get a lot of business. There were only one other couple staying there and they didn’t have a vehicle so it must of been long term. It’s older. You can tell there has been some remodeling of sorts. Not extremely recently but it’s alright. The air worked great. The tv microwave and mini fridge had no issues. They provide soap and shampoo. The tub and sink didn’t drain fast at all. No coffee maker in the room. No breakfast in the lobby The ice machine doesn’t make much ice. I did discover that it is part of a chain of motels. I didn’t know that. There is a dollar general and service station straight across the road and a diner and service station on the same side of the road as the motel. WiFi in the room is provided. I’ve definitely stayed in a lot worse. I would stay again. It’s just low budget but maintained fairly well. There are two floors of rooms. The stores across the street close around 10 or 11 and the store on the same side closed at midnight. I think the diner was 9 or 10. Don’t expect a 5 star stay but you won’t have bugs or anything to deal with.
- Cathy (10/5): - It was a very nice place to stay.
- Maria (8/5): - No coffee pot & manager annoying no visitors allowed and i travelled from mich to see family.
