Wir hatten glücklicherweise ein Auto und haben in der näheren Umgebung gut und wesentlich günstiger gegessen. Wir sind quer durch Costa Rica gereist und diese Unterkunft war mit Abstand die schlechteste. Die Unterkunft lockt mit Tierbegegnungen. Faktisch liegt Futter aus, welches von den Kapuzineraffen und Aras natürlich gerne genommen wird.

Bemowski (10/5): This a special spot! - The young man who checked us in and out and also served our meals in the restaurant was so kind! The food was excellent too. The dining area with bird views is amazing and we loved the pool. We only stayed one night here to be closer to SJO for our flight the next afternoon but we would've loved to stay longer!! The other guests were mostly serious birders with big cameras but our kids were still welcomed.

David (10/5): An excellent place to stay and an excellent base to bird this part of Costa Rica. - We were here for birding and the lodge was very "birdy." The room was very comfortable and the meals we had at the lodge were excellent. Being able to stay in the open dining area all day if you wanted to watching birds and wildlife was a real plus. Nothing was a disappointment! Hope to return soon.

We waren reeds aanwezig voor check-in time en kregen onmiddellijk water aangeboden, konden plaatsnemen op het terras en gebruik maken van het zwembad. Het zwembad was ook heerlijk, het Italiaans restaurant was top en als kers op de taart kwamen er Scarlet Macaws en apen op de voederaar van het restaurant. niets
Adeline (10/5): Hôtel au top mais propriétaires peu arrangeants, dommage - Il y a plus d'animaux dans l'hôtel que dans les parcs (singes, iguanes, aras). La piscine est top. Le restaurant est délicieux. Les difficultés que j'ai eu pour avancer la date de mon arrivée d'une nuit alors qu'il y avait clairement de la place. Après 2 refus, ils ont finalement accepté, pour 9$ de plus.

It would have been helpful to know the toilet and shower were outside, in the open and not within the room.
H3552IFadamp (10/5): Great lodge, great restaurant. - Coming out of the mountains after 10d, I really dry forest environment of this lodge. The accommodations were good, A/C, good Wi-Fi. My room had the outside bathroom but this wasn’t an issue for me, it’s literally like an en-suite, all perfectly secure and really very pleasant. The restaurant delivers amazing food. It’s incongruous to get world-class pizza in this setting but that’s what they deliver here! As well as other great options. Breakfast is also good, served from 6am, which is great for birders who want an early start! The views from the restaurant decking, across the forest and down to the pacific are stunning. Great sunsets.
Anneloes (7/5): Mooie ligging in de natuur, bijzonder klantvriendelijke medewerkers, maar weinig comfortabel - Het hotel richt zich op vogels kijken. De geschakelde huisjes/kamers met badkamer zijn omringd door natuur met voederplanken. In de tuin zijn allerlei vogels (en andere dieren) te ontdekken. Een goed (niet goedkoop) italiaans restaurant dat tot 21u open is, wat handig is omdat het wat afgelegen ligt. De medewerkers waren uitzonderlijk hulpvaardig, vriendelijk en servicegericht en de communicatie verliep erg goed. De kamer bleek gedateerd en niet erg comfortabel. Ik kon alles van de buren horen en ik vond het bed niet lekker liggen. Voor deze prijs (110 dollar) verwacht ik een ander kwaliteitsnivo. Het ontbijtbuffet was wat magertjes qua aanbod. Groot terrein, dus risico op wat verder moeten lopen op een wandelpad van cement op een helling.

Carmelo (10/5): - E' un posto meraviglioso per fare bird watching. Facendo colazione sulla loro terrazza alla mattina abbiamo visto moltissimi uccelli diversi (pappagalli di tre colori, motmot, e altri). La struttura è molto ben tenuta. Il personale gentilissimo. Le camere grandi e pulite. Una bella piscina dove rinfrescarsi e una vera pizzeria italiana per cenare. La sorpresa per me è stata il bellissimo bagno.

Lots of activity here, the hotel's restaurant has a deck space specifically for birds and other creatures to enjoy some fruit! Truly a remarkable experience! Staff is very kind and accommodating. Food at the restaurant is very tasty, they take alot of pride in their food! They do what they can to ensure your stay is comfortable. Due to the high animal activity in the area, you may have some visitors outside your room. So fun! The road leading up to the hotel is in rough shape. Need to take your time. AWD or 4x4 is highly recommended.

Jocselyn (8/5): Un hotelazo con descuidos en su mantención - La ubicación la piscina el formato de habitación el personal es increíble, la comida deliciosa. En el baño hay cero privacidad estaba mal cerrado con cedazo verde se veía claramente hicimos varias pruebas y se veía todo no pudimos usar el baño en paz, hace años cuando los visité todo eso estaban bien cerrado y la vegetación muchísimo más cuidada y bonita, definitivamente tienen que cambiar esos baños por privacidad de las personas habitación 206 además el colchón de las camas individuales están en muy mal estado y muy incómodos, los paños muy viejos y feos, rotos, percudidos es hora de cambiar paños y ropa de cama amigos! Además de mejorar las ventanas los cedazos, fumigar la habitaciones ponerle atención a lo feo que está el piso y los pisos de la ducha, olía muchísimo a orines, les falta un chineito grande a las instalaciones, más amor cuidado pinturita mantenimiento.... No sé descuiden porque en general son un hotelazo pero es muy importante que atiendan las necesidades de su negocio.
Moellenkamp (7/5): The best part of our stay was seeing the animals. - It was a very nice hotel, the rooms were spacious. The bathrooms were open to the outside which was very cool. We didn't have a view of the ocean but we did overlook the forest which was lovely just the same. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant provided excellent food and service for dinner. Seeing the troop of Howler monkeys so close was really great, the capuchin was entertaining, and seeing the macaw at breakfast was an added bonus! :) The rooms were in rough shape. They need some attention, walls washed, fresh paint. One room had a coffee pot, but the second room did not. Wifi at our room was super slow and cut out often. The four of us couldn't use it at the same time.

Mykolas (6/5): A gem for animal lovers, but not for calm sleep - The staff was friendly, the pool is also quite nice, the sunset view is beautiful and the parrots are really colorful. The location is quite strategic when travelling from north to south. Overpriced for what you get. Yes, the animals are amazing, but at the same time they cause so much noise and the small houses are without any isolation. We simply didn't have luck that the howler monkeys spent their night just above our roof: they were doing their jurasic park noises, throwing the rest of their food and defecating directly on the roof. Interesting experience for sure, but to be honest not the one I expected.

Ernst (1/5): FRAUDULENT - FALSE ADVERTISING - Don't trust the images on booking.com. It's highly likely that your bathroom won't resemble any of those pictures. All of the pictures under my booking details showed my deluxe room as having an indoor bathroom. I was given an outdoor bathroom. According to Hotel Cerro Lodge, everything was accurately represented on Booking.com. There are absolutely no pictures of the outdoor bathrooms provided. Although some patrons are content with these outdoor bathrooms, this shouldn't be a secret until you get to your room. You ought to have an option. Before guests pay, Hotel Cerro Lodge ought to be transparent and truthful about what they will receive. In a location where mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, zika, and chikunaunya are possible, I personally would not have reserved a room with an outdoor bathroom. I choose my accommodations carefully. I look at the pictures to make sure I'll be comfortable. I've used booking.com a lot, and this is the only bad experience I've ever had booking through them. The lodge claims that everything is as described after flagrantly misrepresenting itself. There was a gap in the front door frame of my room (201) that measured about 3–4 cm by 90 cm. This gap would have allowed mosquitoes as well as possibly larger animals like snakes, mice, and scorpions into the room. Before I realized the room had an outdoor bathroom, this was what I initially noticed. The beds have no mosquito nets covering them. Hotel Cerro Lodge offered to move me to a standard room for my first night, and then to a deluxe room like the one I had reserved (with an indoor bathroom) for my second night. There were no other rooms available for two nights because they were completely booked. The bathroom in the standard room they offered me for the first night is not shown or described on Booking.com. Instead of a physical fourth wall, the bathroom has a "mesh wall". Ctd from above: After all, there was a large gap where a piece of molding had broken off in the door frame of my original room. The smaller room with a different, unacceptable bathroom that they offered to me for my first night, was not what I had paid for and reserved. They acted like they were giving me a great deal by letting me stay in two different rooms during my two day stay. The first room was not what I had reserved, and it would have been extremely inconvenient. When I asked how much I would be compensated for the "lesser" room and the inconvenience of having to check-out of my room the next morning before my 6am tour, they ignored the question. I informed them that I would be departing and reserving a room elsewhere. I informed them that I was not receiving what they had advertised when I made my reservation, so I wanted a refund. They informed me that I would have to contact Booking.com since I made the reservation through them. Actually, my credit card had been charged by Hotel Cerro Lodge two and a half months prior. They have to reimburse me since they have my money. I was getting the runaround from them. I left my bags in the room for approximately forty-five minutes while I considered my options. I didn't use the room in any other way. They refuse to give me my money back. If this lodge really cared about providing excellent customer service and making visitors' stays enjoyable as they say, they would have admitted that what they gave me was not what I was promised, given me a prompt refund, and we could have moved on from this regrettable situation. Rather, they are making me bring this up and voice my displeasure. I don't complain. I've let a lot of things go at other properties, but their deceptive advertising is a serious problem. ernstimages (2/5): DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING - FRAUDULENT - Don't trust the images on booking.com. It's highly likely that your bathroom won't resemble any of those pictures. All of the pictures under my booking details showed my deluxe room as having an indoor bathroom. I was given an outdoor bathroom. According to Hotel Cerro Lodge, everything was accurately represented on Booking.com. There are absolutely no pictures of the outdoor bathrooms provided. Although some patrons are content with these outdoor bathrooms, this shouldn't be a secret until you get to your room. You ought to have an option. Before guests pay, Hotel Cerro Lodge ought to be transparent and truthful about what they will receive. In a location where mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, zika, and chikunaunya are possible, I personally would not have reserved a room with an outdoor bathroom. I choose my accommodations carefully. I look at the pictures to make sure I'll be comfortable. I've used booking.com a lot, and this is the only bad experience I've ever had booking through them. The lodge claims that everything is as described after flagrantly misrepresenting itself. There was a gap in the front door frame of my room (201) that measured about 3–4 cm by 90 cm. This gap would have allowed mosquitoes as well as possibly larger animals like snakes, mice, and scorpions into the room. Before I realized the room had an outdoor bathroom, this was what I initially noticed. The beds have no mosquito nets covering them. Hotel Cerro Lodge offered to move me to a standard room for my first night, and then to a deluxe room like the one I had reserved (with an indoor bathroom) for my second night. There were no other rooms available for two nights because they were completely booked. The bathroom in the standard room they offered me for the first night is not shown or described on Booking.com. Instead of a physical fourth wall, the bathroom has a "mesh wall". I had no reason to think that there were no holes big enough for mosquitoes to get through the mesh. After all, there was a large gap where a piece of molding had broken off in the door frame of my original room. The smaller room with a different, unacceptable bathroom that they offered to me for my first night, was not what I had paid for and reserved. They acted like they were giving me a great deal by letting me stay in two different rooms during my two day stay. The first room was not what I had reserved, and it would have been extremely inconvenient. When I asked how much I would be compensated for the "lesser" room and the inconvenience of having to check-out of my room the next morning before my 6am tour, they ignored the question. I informed them that I would be departing and reserving a room elsewhere. I informed them that I was not receiving what they had advertised when I made my reservation, so I wanted a refund. They informed me that I would have to contact Booking.com since I made the reservation through them. Actually, my credit card had been charged by Hotel Cerro Lodge two and a half months prior. They have to reimburse me since they have my money. I was getting the runaround from them. I left my bags in the room for approximately forty-five minutes while I considered my options. I didn't use the room in any other way. They refuse to give me my money back. If this lodge really cared about providing excellent customer service and making visitors' stays enjoyable as they say, they would have admitted that what they gave me was not what I was promised, given me a prompt refund, and we could have moved on from this regrettable situation. Rather, they are making me bring this up and voice my displeasure. I don't complain. I've let a lot of things go at other properties, but their deceptive advertising is a serious problem. Jessica informed me in my correspondence with the lodge that all of the features listed in my reservation were provided by the hotel. She stated that every feature of the room matched exactly what was portrayed on the booking.com platform. She wrote that no refund was due because my reservation was explicitly confirmed under a non-refundable policy. My reply to Jessica: I apologize, but your hotel did not offer "room features, room characteristics," as stated on Booking.com. You claim that outdoor bathrooms are clearly described, but the booking platform makes no mention of them. You show many pictures of the interior bathrooms, but you don't even include one of the exterior ones. Why is that? Bathrooms, whether they are indoors or outdoors, are "room characteristics". One of the most important aspects of a hotel room is the bathroom. Based on the photos you provide on the booking site, no reasonable person would anticipate receiving an outdoor bathroom. The fact that the bathroom was outside is not mentioned. How you think this is acceptable is beyond me. In your portrayal on booking.com, you are not being truthful and forthright. I paid for a deluxe room with an inside bathroom, not the alternate standard room you offered for the first night. Additionally, there are no pictures provided of the bathroom in the standard room, which had dubious mosquito proofing. I am very picky about the accommodations I choose, and I would never have reserved that room if your hotel had presented itself truthfully on Booking.com. Before making the reservation, I carefully examined your pictures, especially the ones of the bathroom. You stated that making sure your visitors have a pleasant stay is your top priority. That objective would not have been achieved with what you offered. I will get in touch with MEIC if I do not receive a refund. Jessica didn't reply after that. The following day, Katherine replied. She wrote, in essence, that the booking.com platform must be used for all refund requests pertaining to reservations made through booking.com. That contradicts what booking told me, which was that the lodge had to approve any refund. The payment was received by the lodge. Hotel Cerro Lodge has been incredibly dishonest. Katherine then wrote that they would be pleased to help if I needed any additional support. Wow. Hotel Cerro Lodge takes a very bureaucratic stance. No refunds no matter what, means no refunds even if the hotel is at fault. In my case, the room that was displayed in the pictures on Booking.com was not what they gave me. There was not a single indication that my room might have an outdoor bathroom. The outdoor bathrooms and the resulting mosquitoes have been the subject of previous complaints. Any complaints or negative comments posted in reviews regarding the outdoor bathrooms are ignored. Hotel Cerro Lodge completely steers clear of the topic. I've included pictures of the actual bathroom in the room I was given, along with the gap in the front door caused by broken molding on the door frame. In my initial review, I cited earlier complaints from the booking.com platform regarding the outdoor bathrooms. I went through every review on Booking.com and copied and pasted all of the previous unresolved complaints to my review so that future customers wouldn't have to search through more than 1000 reviews. I received an email from TripAdvisor stating that in order to adhere to their policies, particularly the one regarding plagiarized and non-original content, I must make revisions and resubmit. I tried submitting again with just the names of the reviewers and the dates of the reviews after editing out the actual quotes, but that is also unacceptable. The outdoor bathrooms are currently the subject of 25 additional negative reviews. Knowing this, in my opinion, is crucial since it indicates that this issue has a history. One employee told me when I was onsite, that this bathroom issue had never come up before. In my original review, I added screenshots from my actual booking confirmation. They showed 12 photos, 5 of those photos were of inside bathrooms. Since they are not my own images, they have been removed from this review. It is important to note that there was no outdoor bathroom in any of the pictures that Hotel Cerro Lodge supplied. Neither the booking.com platform nor my booking confirmation made any reference to the potential for an outdoor bathroom.

Björn (10/5): - My wife and I stayed there for two nights at the end of February. We received a very warm welcome. The deluxe rooms are also very good and clean. We were there primarily for bird photography. We especially enjoyed being so close to the macaws and other birds. The peaceful atmosphere of the lodge, nestled in nature, was also a big plus. For dinner, we had pizza and beef burgers, both of which we highly recommend. We took excursions to Carara National Park and two boat trips on the Tarcoles River. These were also fantastic for birdwatchers, especially at sunset. A hike along the beach to the mouth of the Tarcoles River, with its numerous pelicans and various gulls, was also a great experience. So, if you're looking for a lodge in nature with plenty of birds to observe, this is an excellent choice.

Steve Schaller (10/5): Birding Paradise - Cerro Lodge is perfect for people interested in birding and photographing birds. The natural environment there is exceptional for locating bird species and the view from the restaurant porch is wonderful. Some of the birds that we encountered including scarlet macaws, blue and gray tanagers, rufous-naped wrens, and baltimore orioles. Cerro Lodge is also close to Carara NP, another fabulous location for birdlife. Every cabin has a wonderful view out over the valley and forest making it ideal for sitting outside with your partner. It would have been nice to have a listing of activities that I could have booked at the hotel. We explored the place on our own and discovered many bird species. They do cater to larger bird watching groups and maybe it was my own fault that I didn't notice what was happening.

Les pizza du restaurant sont magnifiques Le personnel manque de réponse compétente sur les propositions touristiques à proximité. Le pont de Tarcoles étant en travaux le tour "crocodile" habituel n'était pas possible. Une alternative possible et disponible à proximité immédiate de l'hôtel ne nous a pas été signalée. Nous l'avons appris trop tard par des clients de l'hôtel qui l'ont découvert par hasard. Le personnel était au courant et nous a expliqué que ce n'était pas leur partenaire... Je pense qu'étant donné les conditions particulières l'hôtel aurait pu faire exception et renseigner ces propositions. De même, pour un hôtel se revendiquant un must du point dd vue ornithologique, il n'a pas pu nous faire de proposition de guide compétant

Per (9/5): Fantastic food and lovely scarlet macaws - The breakfast was ok, but nothing special. However, the food for lunch and dinner was outstanding. Pizza was phenomenal and so was the ham & cheese sandwich. It was great to sit in the outdoor restaurant watching birds and monkeys. Compared to 11 years ago, the quality of the food has increased significantly. They do have a pair of scarlet macaws visiting every morning at around 7, and this is a great asset. At the same time, they have 2-3 visiting monkeys. They are also an attractive asset. Cerro lodge has got new owners and the trend is to emphase the swimming pool more than the birdwatching. This means that you attract families with children more than photographers. It used to be the other way around. The monkeys are somewhat problematic since they tend to eat all the fruit and bananas and chase off other birds. Final remark: The coctails do not really taste of licor and are somewhat disappointing.
John (4/5): Nice hotel nice grounds lots of birds, but the bridge is the problem. - The big problem with this hotel is that it’s on the wrong side of the alligator bridge, which is under construction. This means it can take up to two hours to travel 11 km and almost everything worth doing in the area is on the other side of the bridge so you can depend on the fact that you will be spending about two hours plus in the car every time you go somewhere.

Das Dreibettzimmer ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen, klein und kein Ort zum Verweilen und Aufhalten. Kein Kühlschrank. Frühstück zu teuer. Es ist lediglich ein Ort zum Schlafen. Das Restaurant ist auch teuer, Pizza im Ansatz gut, doch verbrannt.

USNA2003 (10/5): Excellent Experience for Me! - My friend and I stayed here while we were on a week-long multi sport trip in Costa Rica. These accommodations were arranged for us by our tour agency. We were very happy with the lodge. It's simple but clean. It's in a very quiet location down a private road in the countryside. WiFi service is good. Meals and staff are excellent. The pool is lovely. The restaurant is open on three sides with a gorgeous vista, birds, and outstanding sunsets. This area attracts a lot of bird watchers from all over the world. So there were a lot of birdwatchers staying the six days we were there. They were a nice, quiet group of people.

Suzanne (8/5): Vogel paradijs - Restaurant, het uitzicht, vriendelijk personeel, heerlijke pizza's en zoveel vogels in de omgeving! De standaard kamer is erg gedateerd en onlogisch ingericht. Veer verroest en verweerd. Er staan veel nieuwe huisjes maar deze standaard kamers die wij hadden zijn echt toe aan een renovatie. Geen goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding zo. We zouden zeker terugkomen maar dan de nieuwste kamers boeken.
Beate (9/5): Gutes Hotel in schöner Lage mit einigen Schwachpunkten - Das Hotel liegt sehr schön und vom Pool und von der Terrasse am Restaurant hat man eine tolle Aussicht. Die kleinen Häuschen mit den Zimmern liegen verteilt in einer grünen Parkanlage und es gibt viele Vögel, auch die berühmten roten Aras. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich willkommen. Unser Zimmer war in einem separaten Häuschen mit viel Privatsphäre. Die Häuschen wirken ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen und die Tür schloss nicht gut, so dass man sich nicht ganz so sicher fühlte. Die Preise im Restaurant waren extrem hoch und auch wenn die Pizza sehr gut war, fanden wir es schon sehr überteuert und aufgrund der intransparenten Preise haben wir am Ende im Restaurant sogar noch mehr bezahlt als erwartet. Wir wussten, dass man eine Kaution zahlen muss, aber uns ist nicht ganz klar, warum. Wir haben in sehr viel besser ausgestatteten Unterkünften übernachtet und nirgendwo wurde eine Kaution verlangt oder das Zimmer gecheckt, bevor man abreisen durfte.

La comida es espectacular, principalmente la pizza. La piscina puede mejorar mucho en temas de limpieza, teníamos ganas de ir a meternos al agua pero decidimos no entrar, aún así nos quedamos ahí leyendo a la par porque el lugar es muy tranquilo.

The staff let us 'hang out' as we were early arriving. Loved the birds, we saw lots of Macaws. We had dinner at the restaurant, it was good, but be aware it is pricey. Bring mosquito repellant! The mosquitos ascended in droves when the sun went down. The room could easily be improved. There should be a a side table on each side of the bed, even a shelf. Better lighting. The bathroom has a large shelf across from the toilet?! You bonk your head on it at night! It is even hard to go by it when going to the shower, it should be moved to beside the vanity at the same height. The 'table' in the room is useless, it should be changed to a shelf table... A small fridge in the room would be lovely.

Me mosqueó mucho que el baño de la habitación no tuviera pared y estuviera al aire libre, y que no se hiciera ningún tipo de referencia a eso en la descripción ni en las fotos de la habitación. Si lo hubiera sabido, habría elegido otro alojamiento. Además es que el baño estaba cochambroso, y la habitación era menos que básica por el precio que pagamos. Sobre todo en comparación con el resto de alojamientos en los que estuvimos en nuestro viaje. Todo en general necesita renovación o mantenimiento. Y es cierto que las pizzas del restaurante están buenísimas, pero los precios son carísimos. En fin, que me pareció que las fotos son engañosas y que el precio no corresponde a lo que se ofrece. No repetiría ni recomendaría alojarse aquí.

Tours on offer at additional cost. The pizzas were astounding but much of the food on offer was quite expensive. A low cost menu would have been appreciated.

Lutz (9/5): Toller Unterkunft mit grosszügiger Umgebung - Wir waren nur eine Nacht auf der Durchreise hier, doch uns hat die Unterkunft und vorallem die Restaurantterasse und Pool sehr gut gefallen. Wir haben Iguanas diverese Vögel und rote Aras gesehen und total leckere Pizzas gegessen. Das sehr freundliche Personal liess unsere Kids nach dem Check out den Pool benutzen, so konnten wir das beste aus dem letzten Tag vor unserer Abreise herausholen.

Famous location for seeing Scarlet Macaw. Room had air-conditioning. Our room needs urgently renovation. Lots of insects/worm came in during the night.

LIANNE (9/5): Great stay in a nice location - loved the monkeys and macaws! - We had a great 3 night stay at Cerro Lodge. They were so accommodating to us despite them being quite busy. The staff worked really hard and often went above and beyond. Breakfasts were a little hit and miss but it did depend on when you got there and how busy they were. There was generally cereal, fruit, pancakes and eggs plus plenty of tea, coffee and juice. Nice to have cold water and ice available the whole day. Lovely to see the monkeys and macaws come for food in the dining area. Beds were comfortable and we all slept well. We ate in the restaurants and the pizzas were delicious! Bathrooms were a joy in the 3 bed rooms - not so nice in the 4 bed ones. WiFi was good in reception and the rooms near it. It was a little weak in the further away rooms.

Karen (8/5): Great location for photographing the Scarlet Macaw! - We photographed the Scarlet Macaw on property which was our goal! Very happy! Otherwise, while we were there, there wasn't a great variety of other birds. The property is comprised of a number of individual bungalows, and a few small buildings of rooms. Our bathroom was "outdoors," which was cute but warm. The restaurant is the main "meeting" point. We enjoyed dinners there - many options, including wood-fired pizzas. It is easy to access and not far from Tarcoles. One day we drove to the beach and enjoyed photographing the frigatebirds and the fishermen. We also took a river cruise which was very enjoyable. There are a number of feeders around the restaurant area, but most were not used during our stay. That could have impacted the birding opportunities. Also, the pricing on the menus wasn't anywhere close to the prices we were charged. they need to update the menus.

Audrey (10/5): Good birds and pizza - We loved the location which was great for morning birdwatching (walk down the road! or drive to nearby carara np or take a boat ride with jose!). The fruit feeders are cool but I really loved the bird friendly landscaping -- porterweed for the hummingbirds, etc . I hope the lodge continues to landscape their grounds to really accentuate birdwatching!! Also the pizza is really really good and the pool is real refreshing.
Feli (9/5): Wonderful place, exceptional staff, amazing stay. - Lovely place, very cute little resort with everything there that you need. The waitress was up late at night and again early in the morning, yet still in the best mood possible. Remembered our names and drinks. Lovely people, would come again. The pool is amazing, colorful lighted at night, surrounded by jungle sounds. The pillows were no good. If the huge handicapped parking lot (has shade and is closer to the cabins) is not in use, other people should be able to use it.
