Please be aware that Galapagos is conformed by different islands; in this case you are arriving to to Santa Cruz Island. Once you arrive to Seymour Airport in Baltra Island, please take a public bus to Baltra Ferry Terminal where you should take a ferry to Santa Cruz Ferry Terminal. Then, take a bus or a taxi to Puerto Ayora. Give the driver the property's name and directions in order to arrive easily. This whole trip take approximately 40 minutes. To move between islands you can take a boat or plane; please check with your hotel the different schedules.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Las habitaciones son extremadamente ruidosas, prácticamente todas tienen una ventana que da a un pasillo común y cada mañana en cuanto los primeros huéspedes empiezan a dejar sus habitaciones (estamos hablando de las 6am cuando se van al ferry, por ejemplo) es imposible seguir durmiendo del barullo que se monta. Muchas habitaciones no tienen ventana al exterior (únicamente ventana al pasillo) Es el único hotel en el que hemos estado en Galápagos que no ofrecían una fuente de agua potable a sus huéspedes, hemos estado en lugares más humildes y siempre la han ofrecido, te obliga a comprar botellas en los comercios cercanos con la incomodidad y contaminación que eso implica.

La piscine était systématiquement en maintenance en journée aux heures où nous aurions pu en profiter. Le personnel n’est pas très aimable ni accueillant et le petit déjeuner très mauvais. Ne valait pas du tout le prix que nous avons payé !

Filled us up for our trips and time exploring. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower nice and powerful. Internet throughout. Rooms were small for 3 people and lots of luggage, but very comfortable and clean.

- Lori (10/5): Great location for a stay on Santa Cruz - The staff here were super friendly and very helpful. The location was great for excursions to other islands and day trips. There were many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel provided us with box breakfasts on the days we had to leave early and a good breakfast on the days we could stay. Rooms were big and comfortable and generally quiet at night. It wasn't a problem for me but you do need to use the stairs to go to the rooms. Some of the rooms were up 4 flights of stairs - just something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. Some people in our group reported no hot water some mornings.

I spilled tea at night in my room and had to use a towel to clean it up. I was told I would be charged, crazy what was I going to do, fall. Then they said I had to take it to the laundry. I declined was leaving. Accidents happen, so if one stains the sheets you have to pay, crazy.

- Oskar (6/5): Nice for someone without high expectations - Nice hostel (around average) with all the commodities : shower with hot water, air conditioning, tv and a lot of space in the room. The establishment has a private pool and a nice social area. You can fill your bottle with water at anytime (useful before trekking or boat excursions). The breakfast is modest but satisfying. The coffee is good (which is rare for the hostels). The service was kind and helpful at any time, although if you want to book a ferry or a trip, it’s better to go outside and book it on your own. At the España Hostel they charge you an extra fee apart from a higher price than two blocks away (i.e. the round trip to Isabela island with the hotel costed 85 usd whereas in other places is 60 usd). The delay in sending me the electronic invoice (for the tax refund)

Room without a desk, simple windows, a lot of outside noise.
- Joey (3/5): I would never recommend this property or stay here again - The location was good The pool was so dirty I could not even get into the water My room was on the fourth floor and I had to walk up four flights of stairs. I requested for a room on the lower floor and they never responded to my request. The breakfast was terrible. They served cold food.

- Melissa (9/5): Superb - The lobby was nicely decorated and the pool was really nice. The pool fountain was not on during our stay which I normally would not note but it is on their cover photo. They offered separate pool towels for the pool and bathroom right off the room. Good size room. Overall I thought it was a good value for the money. . There only seemed to be one place to plug in anything in the room. The beds were ok but not great. No refrigerator in the room but you could use the community refrigerator in the communal kitchen.

- Zemer (1/5): One star accommodations for four star price - Location was decent, and breakfast was ok. Expensive with terrible accommodations. The room was dark with no view. The wifi was so slow as to be unusable. Even the shower was cold. And they refused to accept credit cards. It really felt like a cheap one star place but at a four star price. There are much better options in town that are both nicer and cheaper.
- Melissa (6/5): Adventures in the Galapagos - The hotel was average. Breakfast wasn’t great and it was very noisy all night long. The location is great & the staff was helpful. If you’re looking for a basic hotel this was great. Tips: to get to Santa Cruz take the airport bus($5), a water taxi to other side ($1) & bus to main road ($5). It’s cheaper than taking a private taxi & it takes the same amount of time. It leaves you off right on the main road & the hotel is 2 blocks away.
- EO (6/5): - The property was acceptable clean. But the the wifi service was only available in the lobby not in the rooms. It would have been great a small refrigerator and coffee maker in the rooms. A cup of coffee is expensive and very bad in this area. If you are a coffee drinker and like it with milk, this is very important. The pool is so tiny that it looks like a kiddie pool. If you travel in a budget and need a clean place this is the one for you.

It makes it awkward if you were to swim. The rooms were fine, small but workable. The wardrobe had 1 hanger.....1 for 2 people. This didn't work so well. The property is clean and centrally located.

The policy is not clear and false advertising! I read other reviews about the pool , and is true . It always out of service. The schedule it close at 6 pm!!.

- Rafael (8/5): - Front desk staff was extremely helpful to arrange tours and ferry tickets. The location was great, since you can easily walk to the pier, Darwin station and food kiosks. Only complain - they were sneaky and omitted some information. For example, they omitted to let us know that hotel was under renovation and that some areas will be restricted (pool) and there will be construction during the day. Also, wifi was only available in the lobby. Overall, it is a good place and location for the price.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - For what you pay, this is a very nice place to stay. It is very basic but very clean and comfortable. Somewhere between a hotel and a hostel but for just a little more than a hostel you get the privacy of a hotel. The staff were not super super friendly but were very helpful in making recommendations and overall I'm extremely pleased with the value.
- Jinling (6/5): - The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful for giving information about the town and tour. Hostal has a nice and quiet common area. The room is clean and big. We were given a nice room for the first two nights with window to the outside. and then we were moved to room #3 which has constant smell. And also there was a noise behind the bathroom which sounds like generator. It goes on and off and even rattled the bathroom door. There is no WiFi inside the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Perk is there's a large, comfortable reception area with plenty of seating: couches, chairs, hammocks. The hostel itself is nestled behind a couple of other hostels, and can be a little difficult to locate if you aren't paying attention. My room had everything I needed, though I found the bed to be stiff for my liking. Also, it had a singular window that looked out into the hallway. Some rooms do have windows to the outdoors, and I would have much appreciated one of those... since the air conditioning/fan unit in the wall was rather loud. Wifi was, well, it might have not even existed. This place was good enough for just staying a couple of days; however, if I had a longer reservation, I would've been slightly disappointed.

- Stephen (4/5): Noise Level They Can Hear In Madrid! - Primary RED flag on Hotel Espana is NOISE LEVEL! Street traffic noise is extreme combined with the disco next door results in a high level of noise that I find acceptable. Would not stay again!
- Stacy (2/5): Don't stay here - If you like to receive the Wi-Fi and air conditioning that you are paying for, I highly suggest that you do not stay at this hotel. During the 3 days I was there, the Wi-Fi worked once for about 10 minutes. At first the staff said that it was because the island doesn't have fiber optic and the internet is bad everywhere. Upon further questioning, it was determined that it's because they share their internet among too many people. I don't know what that means, but I do know that I moved down the street to a cheaper place and the internet works perfectly fine. Most of the time...it is the Galapagos, after all. Since I travel solo and need to be able to contact my family, having zero access to internet was quite stressful. Also, the air conditioner in my room was so loud that I couldn't sleep with it on at all. And, the owners let their children have the run of the place at all hours....making lots of noise, even as late as 10pm one night. The shared kitchen is filthy and has very few utensils, plates, etc. No one seemed to care about the happiness of the guests.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to the airport in a peaceful setting - We arrived very late (2AM) after delayed flights. Hotel Espana has a shuttle service to and from the airport which is extremely valuable as it is difficult for a cab driver to find. Miguel was a great host. The hotel is lovely with a homelike setting and feel. We were able to ride into Quito for a small fee with Miguel one day.

Liked the facilities so much we are coming back on our way back to Quito. It’s clean, comfy beds, HOT water, great location and wonderful staff. Wifi is only available in common area.
- DD (8/5): Nice comfortable hotel - Liked most aspects of this hotel. Clean, comfortable, location... but couple of things must improve. The guy at the reception must be more smiling and friendly and the internet connection must improve. The connection was one of the worst I face on the island. Some cafeterias and restaurants had way better connectivity than the hotel.

- Matthew (6/5): Ok - Good Area. No hand towels. Lots of little bugs in the room, especially noticed on the walls and my backpack. Appeared clean though. No wifi in the rooms- only in the lobby area, and if five people are using it, you won't get a connection. Comfortable common areas and the guy at the front desk was very helpful with calling a taxi for us!
- dragoncito (6/5): Not a 3 star hotel - It is not a 3 star hotel, it is a hostel, maybe one star due to lack of amenities. The room did not have lamps on the night stand, alarm clock or any clock, bathroom did not have water glasses, hand or face towels, hair dryer, or toiletries, no hangers in the closet. All we got was two towels and a sleeve of soap 1 by 1.5 inches. It did have good A/C unit, not too loud and TV. Kitchen was under repair so no breakfast in the morning. The advertised tour counter offered just inter-island transfer tickets. I know that all you need is a bad to rest between your tours, but I expected a real 3 star hotel as advertised. Hotel is all stone, tile and wood, so very noisy. Every time somebody was closing their room door we hear it from any floor, and at 3am is quite annoying. If on a budget this hotel/hostel could be perfect.
