- Andrew (5/5): This is definitely a low quality motel, but outside of the summer time the rate is cheap enough. - The location The keycards never work. I've stayed here 4 times and all 4 times I've had issued with the key-card and had to request that the front desk reset it. They also don't refresh the coffee in the breakfast room until much later in the morning.

Location was just outside of the downtown which made it convenient to get to downtown quickly. - Martha (7/5): Clean, comfortable accommodations in a convenient location for a reasonable price - Clean, comfortable accommodations for a reasonable price given the time of year and location. Plenty of parking, convenient location. People with sensitivity to artificial fragrance should beware of the office at check in and check out. Very strong plug in air freshener. People with food sensitivities are unlikely to find anything from the breakfast offerings, which are inexpensive, basic ultra processed foods. Also, the hotel is pet friendly and many guests brought their dogs, which meant that the grassy area basically became a dog park. These conditions aren't deal breakers, as the hotel was still a good place to stay for the price, but it's good to be aware of them in advance.
- Robert (5/5): This is an expensive location, Boothbay. Got a good nights rest. - Clean bath with comfortable bed with TV Arrived 50 minutes prior to check in. After three hour drive, no bathroom available. I was told no public restrooms. Had to leave. $ 30 fee for early check in. Coffee maker in the room had Kuerig pods and these pods were not compatible with the coffee maker. Open closet did not have a horizontal pole to hang clothes and no clothes hangers. Two chairs in the room were dirty and I would not sit on them.

The continental breakfast was very good, lots of food choices. Would be nice to have some fruit there also. The staff was so nice, friendly and courteous. - L4461DMjulied (2/5): Terrible - I booked 3 rooms under my name, got there to check in and 1 room was 10 rooms away, and response was well had you called directly, we got settled into the first 2 rooms, and left to meet my oldest at Gardens Aglow, got back to hotel at 10:30ish pm and went to 3rd room and it was disgusting and had bugs, so my son came and slept in my room, told manager/owner next day and response was well we had an emergency number we would have come cleaned it, nope not with dead bugs that's not sanitary, he was like oh well, and when booking tried to contact them they wouldn't do anything, will never ever stay there again, miss the old owners!!!!

We are an older couple who booked a pet room online verified by their own website email confirmation for two adults and a pet. After check-in the clerk angrily confronted my husband, claiming we lied about our pet and rudely shouting that he was charging us an additional $300 penalty. Even with the Flagship Inn email confirmation in hand, he refused to stop his out-of-control rant that he was calling the police if we refused to pay the $300.00. We waited to show the police our proof but they never showed up. We returned the key and left without staying. The clerk absolutely refused to give us a receipt for our $540.00 credit card charges! Were we set up? It was the worst travel experience I’ve ever had, ever.

Unfortunately, there was a family with young kids who were very noisy over night above us. A lot of stomping on the floor above and pounding at 3:00 in the morning. - 703librac (2/5): Manager is a liar and a thief - My husband and I are in negotiations with Capital One and the management of Flagship Inn in Boothbay, Maine. He (do not remember his name) charged us 300.00 unknowingly for smoking in the room. We did no such thing. We just learned from Capital One that he claims to have asked us twice to stop smoking. Never happened. He is a liar and a thief. Don't patronize his business.

The sheets were bad too - so overly perfumed that I had an allergic reaction. We chose not to have the provided breakfast as it was only so-so offerings and were worried about cleanliness.
- JeffRob (4/5): Avoid at all costs. Attitude, unclean, and heater/AC won't work at all. STAY AWAY. - It was a room with a door that locked. The heater/AC would trip the outlet everytime, and thus fully would not work. The bathroom was totally dirty, with stuff dripping down the front of the toilet from previous guests. The room was just dirty, and while I've certainly stayed in nice hotels, I'm also no stranger to simpler hotel/motels when I'm traveling for work (as I was this time) and this was just much dirtier than it should've been (and I'm no germaphobe). Also, I arrived at 7pm, and there was a sign on the door that said the lobby was closed and to check the mailbox for the key, so I did exactly that and there was no key...so I tugged on the door, and the guy working the desk then acted like I was crazy for looking in the mailbox or being a little concerned that there was no key and no access to my room for the night. Seriously rude, and incredibly unnecessary attitude when I'm pretty darn easy and am not easily flustered (I'm a former travel photographer who has worked all over the world, so my standards are low and it takes a lot to rattle me). Just a totally unnecessary energy from someone who should be welcoming you to the property, no matter the price. Lastly, when I asked about late checkout (I believe I asked for an extra hour, and this was way off-season) , they told me they would charge me quite a bit ($30?) if I needed more than 15 minutes. Truly absurd. I will avoid staying here again at all costs, which is too bad, as I often work in the area.

- ForrestGreen (2/5): Do Not Book. Do not stay. - My wife and I have enjoyed this hotel in the past with several stays. Owners and management have changed our experience. I booked directly and was offered a rate with no changes or refunds; big mistake. The room was not clean, the floor was dirty, there was a dead spider in a web in a corner, etc. There was no hair dryer and my wife went to the office to get one but was told that some rooms don't have hairdryers. When my wife complained she was told by the manager on the way out "You can always leave." The no refunds and no cancelations means you have to accept what you are given. Undisclosed at the time is a "resort fee" (no resort) and a cleaning fee. Housekeeping didn't make the bed. The floor was dirty in part because there is no door mat inside or out to wipe your feet on. There was one chair in the room with no light nearby and a light above the bed is too dim to use as a reading light. There was no outlet or nightstand on my side of the bed. The heater is very loud. When I checked out I asked for an adjustment which was denied. I was sent an email that our conversation had been recorded and reviewed by management. (!) The email said we should have made a special request in advance for the hair dryer, even though it is listed on the web site as an amenity. The free breakfast had watery eggs and weak coffee. We skipped it after our first visit. This is my first negative review of any hotel. Do not book or stay here. The management of the Flagship Inn is now a blemish on an otherwise welcoming and pleasant community.

- jeffreycI9484IL (2/5): Biggest Scam Hotel in Boothbay - They charge a cleaning fee and resort fee to start my rant. Then I smoked away from the areas that said no smoking and my credit card was hit for 300.00!!! You may not care for smokers but I was doing the right thing at least.

The location was great, only 6 minutes from Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens Aglow. The Flagship Inn has a grocery store, cinema, restaurant, gas station all in the neighborhood. Also, there is downtown shopping, tourist area within walking distance. I didn't like an intruder coming into our room when we are not there! We noticed something missing when we were packing up the next morning. I reported it to the employee in the office. We were out of the room for about 2 hours (5:45 pm to about 7:45 pm) so that was when the person(s) were in our room. We were only visiting for one night. Plus, it was very cold in the room when we arrived and it took about 4 hours to get the room comfortable. The bathroom was still cool even when the room was comfortable. We requested extra blankets because the room was cool. The heater was pretty loud when trying to sleep. There was only one channel to watch with commercials on the television.

- Anita (7/5): Für eine Nacht okay - Es gab gutes Frühstück in einem Restaurant dass sich auf dem Hotel Gelände befand. Als wir die Klima Anlage einschalten wollten, kamen uns Staubwolken entgegen, das war sehr unappetitlich. Außerdem fand mein Mann auf dem Boden , neben dem Bett ein M&M oder ein Bonbon von einer anderen Marke , es war ja nicht eingepackt.

- Susan (10/5): Great Pet Friendly Hotel - It was apparent our room was recently upgraded. The flooring, furniture and bathroom were all fresh and clean. Also the flooring was very appropriate for any seaside lodging, not carpet! We were not "relegated" to a certain part of the hotel or room because we had our dog which gave this hotel major bonus points. The hot breakfast was very good. We were very happy all around.

- MoJoGlosta (8/5): Great breakfast, clean rooms and great location near all major Booth Bay attractions. Good value. - The breakfast was quite good. I was very happy to find that the pool was still open and heated as well as the hot tub in October! The hot tub jets are not operational. Front desk didn't allow us to check in 30 minutes early without a $30 surcharge which to me is not a very guest friendly.

- travelbugs0527 (4/5): Definitely needs improvement. - Very thin walls! I could hear everyone’s conversations and snoring! The weather is getting cooler and there was only a thin comforter, no extra blankets. The most annoying thing was the internet service. Constantly go out. The breakfast was ok. The bed was comfortable. For the price I expected better.

- Marlene (7/5): - It was very clean and homey. It was quiet and breakfast was good. The person at front desk at check in was not very friendly, she wasn't rude but was not very welcoming. Wanted to ask her if there was any nice places to visit in booths bay, but didn't because of the vibe . Also room was very nice but not enough outlets for coffee maker, had to move it across the room to plug it in to make coffee. Made do, just wondered why there was no plug for it.
- Cherie (8/5): Comfortable stay. - Bathroom on the small side and dated but room was nicely decorated and close to the harbor where we had the best lobster rolls ever at Booth Bay Lobster Wharf and excellent ice cream a short walk away at Scoops. Also nice to have a good hot breakfast included. We’d stay here again.

- Shannon (6/5): - The room was basic but clean. The guy checking us in, manager or owner (not sure), was rude and unfriendly. I wouldn’t recommend.
- Robin (5/5): - Nice decor. Comfortable bed Adequate breakfast Front staff has zero personality Multiple emails thru booking.com telling me to sign the agreement but no instructions on signing Dirty spots on wall and side of bathtub. TV didn't work. No we didn't tell anyone, couldn't be bothered.
- Mark (6/5): Maine 2025 - Location was excellent. Cleanliness, bathroom left a lot to be desired, dirty, loose cupboards, opened directly onto kitchen. Road was quite noisy and rooms are not very well soundproofed especially if on bottom floor
