- Martin (2/5): - Scam!!! They say they’re all booked up and only have a king bed available - when we were the only ones there. They only have one room to use. No towels. Office guy took me to laundry- only to get washcloths. He told another guy to go in the room next door for towels. That room had dead cockroaches on the floor and live crawling ones on the bed. We obviously left immediately. Didn’t turn in the card in the rush to get out of there. .Can not reach anyone for help. They give out fake numbers or hang up on you when I call for a resolution. divey is one thing- dirty, bug ridden and dangerous is another.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not good... - Upon arrival we were greeted kindly and directed to where our room was. That was the best part. From there we went to a room where we questioned if someone was going to break in and murder us. The door was taped over, the bathtub was cracked, hot water took forever, cob webs above the sink, bed was not a queen, and there was a fly strip hanging in the corner. It was bad.

- Ted (2/5): - The property was very old, and not kept up. Shears were dingy, towel had big holes. Seeking tiles were badly stained. Some of the office building’s windows were broken. Pictures on website were not of these rooms. No internet. Was given a queen bed instead of the king we booked. Went to Walmart and bought sheets and blankets as all was non-refundable and we couldn’t afford a different hotel after expenditure.

- Bryan (8/5): - Very nice Front Desk lady named Brooklyn. Check in is easy, and she goes out of her way to make sure you are taken care of. Quiet and safe as well. I'd definitely stay here again. Not bad at all and it is very affordable.

The lobby of the check in had food all over the floor. Had a coffe pot. No coffee cups for coffee. We stayed because i couldnt get my money back BUT I WILL NEVER STAY IN THAT DUMP OF A HOTEL AGAIN. You could almost believe that the check in person's whole family lives there. The check in lady was dressed in clothes that looked like they hadnt been washed. There was no professionalism what so ever about check in or the ladies that checked us in. They had extensions cords that had wires showing, kinda of a death trap if you ask me. I had to ask for my ID back because she still had it in the copier. The door to the room looked like it had been kicked in. It must of been the Lucille Ball room, because pictures of her were everywhere. No where near " The best room". You definitely get what you paid for. We was afraid to sleep there because of the way it felt when we walked in the room. Room #208. We walked around the room til we went to bed with our shoes on. The floor was that bad.

- Susan (4/5): - I booked a queen, but when I got there, my choice was a queen with mold on the walls & ceiling, or I could be "upgraded" to 2 doubles with plumbing problems (no water). I had already signed my reciept,with no refund, before my options for the 2 rooms were presented. I got the key card to the double bed room, went to Subway to grab dinner, & went back to give back the key cards. I have stayed here 3 other times in the last 2 years with no problems, but last night was not it. I went down the street to another hotel, and stayed the night.

This motel is a zero if I could rate it… I checked in and staff lied to Expedia on a recorded line, that I never even checked in…But they failed to realize I had my receipt after checking in. I noticed the room schedule to be a non-smoking and it was a smoking. Not even clean and no towels. I left within two minutes and returned the key. This is not a well run hotel. Refused to provide us a refund.

The toilet valve was broken, so every time we went to the bathroom we had to fill up the tank with water to get it to flush. We arrived there late at night, so we were too tired to ask for a different room by the time we noticed the toilet problem.
- Deedra (2/5): - Go somewhere else! The decor is outdated. The beds were the smallest queens I’ve ever seen. In truth I believe they were full size but I didn’t have a measuring tape. Worst was flies and bugs everywhere in the bathroom, no toilet paper and no towels. Do not recommend!
- TRUDY (4/5): Keep Driving - Keep driving. No towel, no wash cloths, no trash can. Requests were made but ignored. Chaotic check-in. You do not even get what you pay for here.
- Carole (6/5): - I had no towels in my room on arrival @ 3pm, the desk clerk said she would bring them to me shortly. It was a little inconvenient as I needed to shower for a dinner appointment. After I showered and "dripped dry", I left the hotel and came back @8:30pm or so, still I had no bath towels. The office was locked up most of the time during my stay. I managed to contact the front desk finally and they said they would bring me some towels. I received them shortly after, but if I had not found the clerks to remind them, I would have had no towels for the morning either.
- CHRISTINA (2/5): - We did not check in until around 7 pm and the room was not ready. There were no towels in the room and the carpet was soaking wet due to staff stating that they had to have it shampooed. When we left the next morning our towels were outside sitting on the air conditioner. Poor customer service. The room was not as it was displayed on their website. It was not remodeled at all. Quite disgusting.!!!

It is a very old property and outside has had nothing done to it for years, but they have tried to keep up the rooms. Needs new carpet but bathroom was spotless!
- Tina (4/5): - Property advertised outdoor pool. It was an inflatable kiddie pool on a concrete slab. We didn't stay. I knew it was non refundable, but I was charged by BOTH Expedia & Tall Corn Inn. So i paid Double for a night we didn't stay. I don't mind paying once... but twice? When i contacted both companies I was told it wasn't refundable. Absolutely no help from either company. I won't be using Expedia again either.

- U1939KNjoed (2/5): Infested with bed bugs - I stayed at the tall corn inn march 6th thru thru 9thfor a hunting trip. When i got to my room i thought wow this is really nasty. Stained filthy carpet,,Smoke detector hanging from the ceiling by wires, Black mold around all of the shower calking. Just nastyl. Being that our whole party was staying here I made the best of it. What a mistake. When i got home i noticed that i was full of itchy little red bumps. After further investigation. I found out they were bed bug bites. I was mortified. I proceeded to call the Tall Corn Inn,And asked to speak with the owner or manager. To let them know of the situation. They were not available. So I told the girl at the front desk of the situation and asked them to call me. For the next week and half they were not there and refused to return my call. So for all i know that room is still being rented. I my opinion this place should be shut down!!! It is not safe nor clean. And the ownership / management does not care. So do yourself a favor and save your money. This place is absolutely horrible.
- UpNorthWisco (2/5): Used To Be A Nice Place - This place has definitely gone downhill since it was bought out. Missing smoke detectors, dirty beds and floors, non working sinks and bathroom fixtures and worse of all bed bugs. One of our party was bitten multiple times and management won't even respond to his calls about it. They list amenities of high speed internet and a bar/lounge. They have neither. Bar building is caving in. Hasn't been open in years! We have stayed here every year for the past seven years but will be looking elsewhere next year!

I did not like that I reserved two queen bed room and was given a room with doubles. I was given the queen beds after calling the office. The light above the vanity/ mirror did not work. Bedding looked dirty.

Air conditioner smelled like PISS , missing prescription meds from my personal suit case.. i know housekeeping is only one with access to room, took shower Saturday morning left our room, came back noticed new towels, they took garbage out put didnt replace the garbage bag. Went to take medicine s this morning, noticed im short 3 days! And what a flipping quidence that we checked in late friday and the ladys. Was like . Sign this non refundable policy n because we didnt know better - we did 😡 this hotel needs to be torn down.

They advertise breakfast and there was no breakfast. Left after first night. Horrible Hotel would never recommend it! Staff at front desk or diss honest business people. I am in the resort business myself and if my hotel had those problems, which are very serious problems, I would’ve told my guess upon check-in what they were entering into and given them the choice to stay or go. The hotel refuses to admit fault and will not refund my money for the other two nights that I was supposed to stay there but didn’t . Buyer beware!

The rooms are small, carpet/furniture worn to the point they shouldn’t even be in a room...unfortunately, there were NO other rooms for 30 miles due to an auction or we would NOT have been here. On TOP of that we paid TOP dollar ($108 @ night) and learned from the other people staying there that THEY only paid $64??????? RIP OFF!!

I ended up having to go find an ATM so I could pay in cash. It was late and I was tired from the road, so this was an unpleasant end to my day.

- Andrea (6/5): Everything isn't What It says - The room isn't as advertised I was told I was getting one bed king size bed and it was a full size bed it wasn't even a queen but it was comfortable and I slept well the room was clean didn't have a bad smell the bathroom was excellent and the men at the front desk was funny overall it was nice the only disappointment was the bed

No ac had been on could not get the room to cool off. Spent most the night in car as the main office was closed and no one anwseted my calls. The celing tiles were discolured and falling down in some places. No ice machaine and bugs in the bathtub.
- 785roomservice (2/5): Bugs in the bed!!! - I checked into this hotel, and upon reaching my room I noticed there were multiple dead bugs in the bed. I googled "bed bugs" and looked at the images that came up. They looked exactly like what I was seeing on the comforter and pillow cases. I told the manager I thought there were dead bed bugs in the room, and after checking the room with me there he crushed them between his fingers and said the bugs weren't bed bugs (they were other dead bugs), and offered me a different room to stay in. No way I was staying at this hotel after that, so I requested a refund. He refused to refund my money, and ended up getting very angry and acting threatening towards me. He was yelling and swearing at me as I left as fast as I could. I can't believe the guy wouldn't give me a refund. I would NEVER recommend ANYBODY stay here...
- Willybilson (8/5): Clean and confortavle - I've had to stay over in Shenandoah a few times and I've stayed at the tall corn inn. The staff is extremely friendly and for a non chain hotel it is very clean. The breakfast doesn't start til 7 but there's plenty of places to eat in town. The rooms need an update but i would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Shenandoah.
- Retired6290 (6/5): Clean But Small And Dated - The good things are that the room and bathroom were clean and the WIFI was strong. Otherwise, it was small and furnishings were older. Walls were covered in wood paneling. Traveling by myself so maybe I got this size room for that reason.
- J-sevenlakes (6/5): Very friendly - About what I expected for the price and the fact that it is an older motel. It was clean. Staff was very friendly. Sheets were better then expected. I was pleasantly surprised that construction workers hanging out in parking lot was not an issue. I felt completely safe and comfortable the whole time. I would say the carpet is really worn and I did not have a coffee maker in my room. Other then that it was fine.

- H6787FWjoshs (10/5): Excellent! - I stayed here for the better part of 5 months for work. I must say I'm glad I found this place. The owners are courteous the staff was respectful of my crazy work schedule and would accommodate housekeeping wether I worked nights or days. The WIFI is fast and the location is quiet from the main road. I truly have zero bad things to say about the Tall Corn. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be staying here.

- travlnjazz (2/5): Dirty and uncomfortable - So if there is a remodeled part of hotel, I didn't have it, The room was dirty, blood on bed skirt, crumpled paper on floor, what appeared to be a webcam taped to front of tv, Bed was very uncomfortable and pillows hard and flat, I was going to sleep in car as that bad, Maybe if you ask for remodeled room but I would not take a chance, If they didn't clean this room not sure they clean remodeled rooms.

- slittle530 (2/5): Remodeled....where???? - So, I was reading the website and says the rooms have been remodeled and updated. While the furniture is nice in the room, the mattress is not comfortable, the pillows are flat and uncomfortable. The carpet is horrible in the room. No coffee pot, no continental breakfast and I don't think the lounge is in operation either. I'm here for company business so I have a CLC (Corporate Lodging) rate so maybe that is why I was put in a room that is not the nicest. In my opinion that should not be how things are done. The bedspread has holes in it. The telephone in the room is from the 60's or 70's. The lobby of the motel has definitely been renovated so people get the idea that it's a nice place, but so far the room doesn't reflect that at all. If I have a choice in the future, will not stay here again. I am also a travel agent and would never let my clients stay here either. Also, when I leave during the day I leave the a/c on (which is a noisy a/c) and when they come in to clean the room they turn it on energy saver, so when I come back from work the room is not cool and it's close to 100 degrees outside. Not a nice feeling to come in the room and it's not cool. Housekeeping should not touch the a/c when a customer has it set in a certain way in my opinion.
- ryanl671 (4/5): A step back in time, but not in a good way. - This room was way outdated. Room looked like it hadn't been updated since the 70's. The bed sheets were itchy and I had a hard time sleeping. There was a window air conditioner that was very loud when it was on, but it was too hot in the room to turn it off. A lot of construction workers stayed at this hotel and they were up late having a good time right outside of my room. The only bright side was the cost of $50, however if I am in Shenandoah again I will either spend more money to stay somewhere else, or stay in a different town.
- 442jeanninel (6/5): Cute room, lousy service - The Tall Corn was an icon from my childhood, remodeled and fairly priced. We stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor room, which was good sized and quaintly decorated with a movie theme. Nice shower, microwave, and small refrigerator. The 3-star rating comes from the housekeeping service. The first day our room was not made up at all. The second day we specifically asked for service and came back to find the spread on the beds just pulled up, no idea if sheets got any attention, no towel replacement. Trash cans did get emptied and soaps replaced, but the room just wasn't given the attention I expect. Very mixed experience.
- plush74 (10/5): Value and character, stay here if in town. - I pulled into the Tall Corn with a friend just to check the prices and as soon as I entered the reception knew this was where I was going to stay the night. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful and offered us a full range of rooms. We opted for two of the movie themed rooms and we were not disappointed. The rooms were clean, spacious and well kept and the touches of Hollywood 'art' made for a unique road trip experience. The motel is situated on the edge of town opposite wide, scenic corn fields and is very quiet, even with an on site nightclub. I enjoyed staying here so much I was tempted to stay an extra night. Definitely the place to stay when in Shenandoah.
- catwic57 (10/5): A Lovely Hotel with Unique Themed Rooms - This is a great place to stay if you are into movies, music and and looking for something a bit different and fun. The lady who greeted us at reception was lovely, and we could tell we were going to enjoy our stay. Not only were the rooms very reasonably priced, they were very clean, and quiet. I think the place had been recently renovated. I stayed in the Dolly Parton room, while my friend chose the Elizabeth Taylor room. There are several other "celebrity" themed rooms, John Wayne ,Elvis, Marilyn Monroe.... My room was very pretty, cosy and comfy with a portrait of Dolly over looking it. All the portraits are also in the reception area and if you are a connoisseur of unintentional "bad art" you will love them. No disrespect meant here. They added to the charm of the place, and were fun. One of the best parts was the wallpaper in my friend's room ( Elizabeth Taylor room ) - absolutely wonderful "old movie star" design. This room was rather plush and glamorous, and very spacious. We loved our stay and would do it again if ever we revisited this area. I hope they add some more celebrity rooms and other features and really do well. A nice change from the "same old same old" chain motels, with good value and lovely people.
- mattn2013 (10/5): good value - Room was clean and staff was friendly. Good value for money. I was told that the original owner or manager was back and the previous owner wasn't very good. I think this might explain some of the bad reviews from the past.
- Riffey (10/5): TALL CORN WAS GREAT - Loved the old hotel feeling and decor.....food was outstanding...the folks working the place were so friendly and accommodating. if you want a great place to stay, TALL CORN IS IT. Fall is a fun time, when the hunters are in town.
