Personnel aimable - les chambres sont propres - toutefois : manque de rangement dans la chambre si plus long séjour... Parking sécurisé : bien ; pourrait être compris dans le prix de la chambre (8€) !

- VICKI (10/5): Nice hotel in a lovely town - Very nice stay easy check in and nice clean room with lovely shower. There was parking outside the hotel which was free. Bergues was a lovely town and plenty of restaurants near the hotel. Will visit again when in the area again

Het dorpje is een lust voor het oog met mooie oude gebouwen, en de typisch Franse huizen met gekleurde luiken. Een wandeling waard. Hotel is prima voor een doorreis overnachting. Klantvriendelijk personeel, heel fijn.

- Laurent (8/5): Hôtel de charme. Patron très sympathique - Difficile de trouver un parking le soir. Prix petit-déjeuner sur hôtel.com à 11e50 alors que le prix réel est de 12.80e. Je demande yn remboursement à hôtel.com car l'hôtel dit que vous n'avez pas mis à jour le tarif. Baignoire très glissante au numéro 30 et ma femme a failli tomber. Elle s'est retenue à la barre qui tient le pommeau de douche. La climatisation était hs quand on est arrivé. Le monsieur père des 2 filles responsable de l'hôtel est passé 2 fois et ça a marché ensuite. Petit-déjeuner correct. Église en face donc attention à ceux qui font la grasse matinée, ce qui n'est pas notre cas. Bergues est très agréable. Bon traiteur sur le coin prés de la place de la mairie et tout proche de l'hôtel.

We had a very nicely fitted out room in the annex with a new ensuite and comfy bed . The food was excellent , not exiehsive and very good vfm . Have visited France many times this is a very good place to stay. Couldn’t fault it .

- Geoff (8/5): Good value hotel in the centre of historic town - Used as a last night stop before Eurotunnel. Very conveniently located in the centre of the historic town. On-street parking adjacent. Attractive rooms and ensuites which have recently been refurbished. The restaurant wasn't open on a Sunday evening, but we used the excellent Bruegel which is close by (booking advised). There were a lot of bells ringing nearby during the evening although I didn't notice any in the early hours.

The friendly welcome from the staff was fantastic and although we were early, they allowed us to check into our room. The room itself was very clean and had all the amenities you would expect. Lovely rainfall shower as well. I'd stayed in this hotel many years ago so knew to expect the exceptionally loud bells from the church next door which begin at 07.55 on Sunday morning.!!! But it all added to the atmosphere of a nice hotel in a beautiful little hidden gem of a town. Would highly recommend.

- Robert (8/5): Unexpected surprise gem! - Great little unexpected gem. Lovely location and modern high finished rooms. Spacious quad room with twin bed and bunk. Only downside was breakfast wasn’t included. Lovely little village.

For some reason the one I was in had a set of curtains on one side of the room and none that over looked the church..... For some reason they close the bar at 845pm which meant that we had to find an alternative bar near by. Also the resturant closed at 9pm. I would imagine they loose out on a lot of trade due to this. As I said a good hotel but could and should be a lot better. Nice location and good for Dunkirk or Calais.

- chd (8/5): Great Little Spot with charm - Charming town, hotel right in the centre of this walled town. Rooms and bed comfortable and obviously all updated recently. Breakfast lovely but wouldn't bother with dinner. Great overnight spot to stay before or after a crossing.

- Martin (10/5): - Booked one night here without too much research on way back to the Channel Tunnel and we were very pleasantly surprised. the town is a delight, great main square with cafes, the town walls and canals are really impressive and all around 30mins from the Tunnel. The hotel room in the side annex building was lovely, great bed, large bathroom all really well kept and clean - the hairdryer didn't work (minor grumble). We could park our car safely on the road outside our room, which was great. The hotel restaurant was excellent as well. Overall a great find, we will be booking again.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable and friendly - We stayed overnight on our way back from a holiday in Germany. Although we were late, the proprietor was happy to help us with the secure car parking. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant at a very reasonable price and slept well. The bells of the nearby church and town belfry did not disturb us through the well-fitting windows. Bergues is a charming medieval town and wandering round the historic sites is well worth it.

- John (8/5): Rustic with a modern touch. - The reception was very friendly. We were escorted to our room and shown how to use the A/C and electric blinds. Had a good dinner at the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was simple and sufficient. No elevator and many steps if you have heavy baggage.

- Paul (8/5): Just the job. - We were just stopping off on the way to the ferry. A good clean hotel. Did the job. They have a good range of room types so better than the basic French motels and a very good location. The town was very interesting it seems like you could easily spend a day just looking around.
