- Alexandra (8/5): - The staff was absolutely superb. Josey checked us in late in the evening. He had lots of recommendations and information. The hotel stored our luggage the next day so we were able to explore Avignon. Room was very small, but newly renovated. All in all a great place to stay for a night. Walking distance to restaurants, great cafes, the market and historic sites. While the location is great to explore the old part of Avignon by foot, it is not easy to get to for an UBER or Taxi.
- Philippe (8/5): Pour la situation en plein cœur d'Avignon - Hôtel très bien situé dans le centre médiéval. Accueil courtois et chaleureux. Les travaux évoqués dans les précédents commentaires semblent finis ou en pause. Ascenseur flambant neuf. Par contre, la moquette est toujours hors d'âge. La chambre (2ème étage) est propre mais défraîchie. La SDB est minuscule, avec un bac à douche avec rideau (!). Le petit-déjeuner (14 euros) servi dans un patio fraîchement rénové, est tout juste correct. Les quelques produits proposés sont peu qualitatifs à l'exception de la baguette fraîche. On a déjà vu beaucoup mieux pour un 3 étoiles.

We also had air conditioning which was a relief after traveling and staying in places that did not have air conditioning. The front desk was very friendly and responsive whenever we had questions. Would recommend and would stay here again.

- Josef (6/5): - Das Zimmer welches ich bekam hatte nichts mit den Beispiel Bildern bei der Buchung zu tun. Bewusst buchte ich ein Hotelzimmer mit Klimaanlage und Besetzer Rezeption. Der Check in war nüchtern und Mann konnte mir auf Nachfrage nicht einmal die nicht angehende Klimaanlage erklären. Der Kühlschrank und die Klimaanlage (nach dem sie endlich an ging) machten eine extreme Geräuschkulisse. Der Teppich im Treppenhaus macht einen schäbigen, abgenutzten Eindruck. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist wohl vor dreißig Jahren hängen geblieben. Beim abreisen würde nicht mal mein Gepäck zur Verwahrung angenommen was eigentlich Standard ist!

- Roy (8/5): Perfectly located if you want to explore the town. - Being in the walls of a medieval town parking and locating the hotel was always going to be difficult.The owner(I assume) was incredibly polite and helpful.As other reviewers have mentioned the property is being renovated so some of the features mentioned in the listing were not available which was disappointing.Unfortunately not a good night sleep as our room was immediately next to a road which seemed to have a lot of activity through the night.

Mini bar was empty. However this did not detract from our stay. There is a supermarket just around the corner and lots of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Location was great. Central to everything.

The only reason for a lower rating was that our room ( I think 42?) had exceptionally thin walls and we could hear our “ neighbours” speaking , coughing and using their bathroom through the evening and night so the quality of sleep was not great . Perhaps other rooms are better ?

At 7am I could hear people outside in the hall cussing the work. At 8am the work started. The room was very nice and clean but I checked after just one day. When I asked the manager for a refund he said no and “well your room was clean”
- MarilynJ450 (6/5): Under Renovation - The hotel was under renovation while we were there and we had not been informed in advance. The staff was nice and the room was fine, clean and in decent shape but the rest of the hotel was pretty much a disaster. The building is historic so it would be worth a second try after all the renovations are done.

En lille hyggelig gårdhave hører med og værelset vi boede på var fint og hyggeligt selvom det ikke var så stort.

The room windows are looking in the small courtyard which is quite noisy, so sleeping with open windows was not comfortable as well, additionally we have suffered from mosquitos The persons on reception were friendly and would probably suggest us another room but I found it unusual to change room in the middle of the night.

- Barbara (10/5): - Everything about this hotel was top rate! Spotlessly clean, super friendly and responsive staff, location, price, and amenities in the room. Yes, the room was small, but when I travel I don't really expect to spend all that much time besides sleeping in my room. It is meant as a small, affordable hotel and not a luxury hotel and it far exceeds this goal. I highly recommend it.

Despite our objection of not applying insecticide to kill the bugs, she sprayed it right away when she saw them flying in the bathroom. We travelled with children and had concerned about the effects on kids. The family who supposed to stay in the room moved to another hotel and had not received any response from the hotel owner/management after a week. Very disappointed.

- MatthewP154 (2/5): Moldy and bad - The outside, lobby, and stairwell have a lot of charm. I excited to stay here. The room was even fairly spacious. However, the room was not in good condition. After a night of sleeping in the room, we suffered irritated throats and allergies. There is visible black mold in the grout and ceiling of the bathroom, and the inside of the AC looked filthy. Perhaps related to its lack of upkeep, the air conditioner was also extremely loud. And not a consistent a loud hum either, but big thumps at irregular intervals. This was also pretty annoying when trying to sleep but we could have lived with it if not for the air problems. Unfortunately, we booked through a travel portal and prepaid for 3 nights. The hotel would not refund the rest of the stay. But spending another two nights here was not an option for us, so we left.

- kfritz712806 (6/5): 2 stars - thats what you get! - Perfect location, room very small, only a small little window, had a bit of a smell in the bath room, staff super nice. For the price, thats what you get. No elevator but thats fine. Very noisy inside as the staff cleaning room was right next to my room ad it was pretty noisy in the morning when they< started to clean the rooms.

- Maxime (10/5): Stay at the hotel medieval - Nice hotel with very central location at 5 minutes walk from the Palais des Papes. Minimalistic, but comfortable. The AC did not seemed to work but it was not hot enough to make it necessary plus one can open the window (although sometimes you might hear a couple loud people in the middle of the night).

- Darlene (10/5): - Hotel Medieval is in the heart of Avignon. It's on a quiet street which is excellent for sleeping. 1 block away there is a square with lots of restaurants. It's an easy and close walk to all the sights of Avignon ie Palais du Papes was about a 4-5 min walk. The size of the room was fantastic, especially for France. We looked over a quaint coutyard. We would definitely stay there again! We highly recommend Hotel Medieval.

- Bryan2370 (10/5): A delightful stay - The hotel staff was welcoming and helpful. Everyone was so friendly. Walking up the grand stone staircase to our room felt like being in a museum. The location in Avignon can't be beat--we walked everywhere in town.

- Agml66 (8/5): Good hotel good location - The Hotel is situated in a side street in the heart of the car free zone in the city of you are driving turn Parking les Halle’s is just a few minutes walk to the hotel through a square with great bars and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were friendly, efficient and professional. The room we had was clean and the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The breakfast was adequate with good coffee. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this hotel if staying in Avignon

L'hôtel porte bien son non, chambre correct ( aurait besoin d'être rafraîchie) parking des halles à 5mn,attention n'utilisez pas votre badge autoroute prenez un ticket car l'hôtel fait 20%sur le parking à condition que vous ayez un ticket. Personnel sympathique

- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location in Old town - Good location. Walkable to everything in the old town. As expected in historical buildings, there is no elevator. If you have a lot of luggage, ask for a lower floor. Room is small but is expected in this area. Very friendly receptionist. Breakfast is ok.

The staff was super friendly, offering suggestions on places to go as well as speaking slow French when I practiced my own (but always being ready to switch into English). The room was great and very quiet--the AC worked great and the bed was comfortable. I added an extra night because I liked it as a base for Provence and I would definitely go back.

- Julien (8/5): Nice local hotel (and not part of a big chain!) - A well located hotel, very convenient, very close to the town centre and all its amenities. Charming yet simple, the hotel and its breakfast will please all, families, couples and businessmen/women. Very good value for money, the only drawback would be the few minutes walk between the car park and the hotel although to be honest, you get a hefty 20% discount on the « palais des papes » car park which makes it one of the best place to stay.
