- Dominic (2/5): - Not worth it. No internet at all.
- Mehdi (8/5): - There were a lot of prostitues around the area at nights, and some even in the lobby!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is quite old
- Habib (2/5): - Noisy, not clean, and zero amenities.
Rooms are not soundproof and noises from 2 clubs on M floor feel as if they are next room on level 3.
The staff has no etiquette and make noieses when cleaning the floor in early morning. The pool has no lounge chairs...
- SURESH (2/5): - This is one of my most unpleasant
and horrible stay till date.
- Khawaja nadeem (8/5): Not happy with staying here - Very unprofessional and money hunger . I will never recommend to stay here in future.
- Mark (6/5): - The room they gave me had worst bed I’ve ever slept on in hotel… a little mold on ceiling in one area bad smell in bathroom. Seemingly prostitution in and around hotel
- MOHAMMED (2/5): WORST HOTEL- NOT WHAT WAS POSTED - IT WAS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN DUBAI.. IT SHOULD BE 0STAR, THE BATHROOM DRAINAGE IS FLOODED SO IF U TAKE SHOWER OF WASH FACE IN THE SINK IT FLOODS THE WHOLE BATHROOM FLOOR. THE BATHROOM DOOR WAS SO OLD, THE BELOW COVER WAS REMOVED, YOU CAN SEE THE ROTTING WOOD. FURNITURE FIXTURES WAS OLD. DIRTY MUGS WITH NAME "OYO". THE HANDLE OF CUPBOARDS WAS NOT EVEN REPLACE. I CAN SEND THE PICTURES FOR A PROOF. EVEN THE BATHROOM TILES SO DIRTY WITH BLACK MOLDS ON THE GROUTING.WE REQUESTED FOR A KING SIZE AS PER BOOKED AND GIVEN A 2 BEDS PUSHED TOGETHER. PLEASE HAVE IT CHECK WHEN YOU PARTNER YOURSELF WITH HOTELS LIKE THIS. RECEPTION EVEN TOLD US WE CAN CANCEL IF WE DONT WANT. WHAT IS THAT SERVICE?. IF WE HAVE AN OPTION ON THE SPOT WE COULD HAVE CANCELLED IT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. AND READ THE REVIEWS. IT IS REALLY SO DAMN DIRTY.
- Baljinder (10/5): Excellent - Rooms are very neat and clean
- Tariq (8/5): - Its location is good
- Bosco (4/5): - The furniture is very old. Carpets old, dirty and really tired. The room and bedtype reserved was not acailable. There is a noisy discotheque amonsgt the guest rooms. Rooms are only cleaned on guests request yet the guest are not informed that they need to make such requests. It was grnerally not a pleasant experience and the staff and management didnt seem concerned to help correct the bad situation.
- Abdelkarim Suleiman (2/5): - The worst hotel ever, I checked in the 20th of Feb til the 24th of Feb 2022, they checked me in room 205 the room was dirty I never seen something like this in my lifetime smell, noise, Tv no working and I even could not eat in the room, the day after they moved me to room 714 same dirt even the last days there’s were no internet in the hotel and I have to go to McDonald’s to do my work. Moreover the night club and loud music til 4am. I never thought there’s a dirty hotel like this in Dubai and I don’t advise anyone to stay there
- Abubakar (2/5): Avoid at all cost - The worst hotel experience ever. More like a night club than a hotel. Prostitution is rife in the hotel. Couldn't get a peaceful night sleep. Please avoid if you traveling with kids.
- Said (2/5): - Worst place to sleep unsafe bad 🛌 and alot more i can't tel here
- HABIB AHMED (2/5): Bad experience very very bad service - Very very bad service & my experience also I suggest never never stay their if they Ofer free
- Fahad (2/5): Beware of cockroaches!! - It is the worst hotel i have come across. The staff are rude the manager is aware of cockroaches however no pest control. Night club music is loud and can be heard in the rooms. The rooms are so out dated and bathroom as damp on every corner. Its a disgusting place!
- Angela (4/5): - The staff were very friendly but the hotel room was atrocious. The carpet was filthy and had burn marks and stains all over it. I certainly would not walk in my bare feet it was so bad. The bathroom was very poor with mould and stains everywhere. We were not given any towels and therefore I didn’t use the shower, although even if we had towels i still would not have used it. There was a nightclub and we could hear extra loud music right up till 3.00am. We only used it as a stopover for a few hours sleep as I certainly would not has lasted any longer. I have stayed in a better hostel than this and certainly would class it as a poor 1 star. I had booked it for my return journey as another stopover but had to cancel as I could not bear to think of another few hours staying here. The bed was 2 x singles put together but they were different heights. Furniture was very old and worn. Staff were nice and pleasant but hotel was just AWFUL.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Agilidade no atendimento, proximidades do shopping
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excelent!
- Rajender (2/5): Poor - Poor only the condition are more no door lock function wash room not good water facility not good television there but only for show no house keeping and front office useless
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s only for sleep
There was no towels and the shower didn’t work.
- Katrina (6/5): Sun and Sands Hotel - during the prebooking, it was not mentioned that different Nationality cannot stay in the same room so we have to book another room. room said it has balcony but there is none where i got to stay. only good thing about the place is it is nearby mall.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel environment inside terriblerible. Location good
- Verified traveler (2/5): - very bad
o many bad girls there and you can not go by your family
- Colin (4/5): Pool absolute mess. Should be reported! - Pool absolute mess. Should be reported! Like a building site
- Verified traveler (2/5): - WiFi so slow ...no fridge and when I ask the answer was ...removed from all hotel ! No visitors allowed !
- Samer (2/5): Not suitable for families and horrible management - Horrible experience, many issues. No support from the hotel management.. Minibar went missing for 3 days.. Technical issues... Please note that this hotel may not be suitable for families.
- John Kenneth (4/5): Room key card not working - I booked in this hotel and check in but just minutes in the hotel i notice that my room keycard is not working. I asked tmfront desk and said they have a problem with their system and that i need to ask the room boy every time i need to go in my room. Not expecting to experience this into a hotel in dubai. Stay there and less than 30mins and decided to change hotel. Front desk did not even bother to convince me for any other option with my issue and said that they cannot refund my payment mins. Ago when i checked in.
- Mr.T (4/5): Value hotel close to airport - Good Location. Friendly staff. Hotel is in desperate need of an update. Wifi was not good. Key card had to be reprogrammed 3 times. Dirty linen. Bathroom in a bad state. Good size room.
If you can overlook the bad points...great value for money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I'm still waiting for a receipt. I'm not writing anything until I have a receipt.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid this place. Not the value of the money - To avoid. Not quite place. I didn't sleep well during my stay.
Poor breakfast. Swimming pool not available. Roms aren't in good condition.
The gym is a small 4*4 letter with oldest material.
To avoid.
They try to charge me tinkhs I didn't consum.
- Vivian (10/5): Good location - It was amazing so easy to find and near metro will definitely recommend this to my friend
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a good experience. - The Hotel is located in a downtown Dubai. Two minutes walk from the union Metro station and access to eating places Like KFC, McDonalds and Burger king.
The club on the first floor gets noisy for those staying on the second floor of the building.
The windows in my room were blocked off with paper so there was no view of the street and no access to fresh air. Only the AC.
The floor has a wall to wall carpet that was badly stained and looked very dirty. The room had a smell of cigarettes and it was very uncomfortable. When I asked for a non smoking room, the hotel told me that it was coming from the next room, yet the room assigned to me had a cigarette dish!
The corridor had a strong scented perfume which gave me a headache every time I passed to go to the elevators.
It was not a good experience staying there.
- muhammad (4/5): Good but not cleaned - Staff are fantastic and friendly; but but the hotel itself not cleaned, carpets are dirty and old, insects 🐜 inside the rooms and not family hotel
- Merlinda (8/5): It was amazing the staff are friendly - It's was amazing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Value for money.over all its goof. 5 minutes walk to Dubai metro.
- karen (4/5): - Good location but noise from the night club, between midnight and 3am every night, was unbearable.
- Abdalrahman (2/5): - Unfortunately I didn't like everything, very disappointed
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The Hotel is not as it shown in the photos. Furniture are old and damaged. Someone has to check and replace them. As a result when a damage occur, they ask you to pay for it. During my first night i sat on a chair and it broke. They asked me to pay for it. They are the ones who should be paid me as the chair was damaged. Also there were not toilet papers, towels and shampoo. The room was a mesh. They must fix everything there as it's dangerous to stay in a place like this. Avoid this hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Downtown location with restaurants and super markets close by is good
Too noisy with the night club band until 3 am Could barely sleep Traffic noise on the roads adds to the inconvenience of losing sleep
Not even a bottle of water complimentary and I had to walk to the supermarket at 130 am to buy one
- Daniel (8/5): It's a good hotel - Clean, good position, good services, helpful staff but noisy. Nice swimming pool. Not expensive as well.
- Puneet (8/5): - Overall it is good ... only name is very confusing, in that area there are present two more hotels with Sun and Sands names. Even taxi driver will also get confused.
- erin (6/5): Nice hotel if your looking for a cheap place - I had some problems at this hotel as the air con didn’t work properly the first 3 days in one of the room. There was a leakage with the toilet flush so everyday we had to ask someone to come and clean it up and fix the flush they said it’s done but the same issue the next day we would come from outside and the bathroom would be flooded and we would need to ask some one to come clean it. After the 6th day I was so angry we went and complained as we were getting fed up as the 6 members of my family using the sane bathroom in the next room was getting difficult for us. So they decided to change our room but it meant we would have to pack everything and move to new rooms which wasn’t easy for us after having a long day out and we only had one day left at the hotel so we decided to bare with it and requested that they fix it and not just clean the water up and say it’s fixed so eventually they fixed it on our very last day. We also had issue with the air condition in one of the other room in the very last night we were there. So the little time we spent in the hotel wasn’t as pleasant as one would like.
We were also looking forward to using the swimming pool but during our stay the swimming pool was under maintenance which was another disappointment. And my kids were not happy we had to use my sisters apartment pool. The stuff at reception was nice and friendly and the cleaning of the rooms were good too. The bellboy was helpful too.I would not recommend this hotel sorry.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Average hotel in Al Rigga - My room did not have all the features mentioned in the online description and arriving late at night it is quite an unpleasant situation to see that the room had a wardrobe with no hangers, no kettle to boil water, no room safe, a lose phone where connection to the reception did not work and a wifi password that was not allowing wifi access.
It took over one hour of asking for assistance to get it all fixed and facilities provided. I believe that the staff did their best to assist though.
Some of the facilities were closed when I tried to go there ( gym and pool side Cafe) so I would just have meals outside. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby.
What I didn't like is the carpet in the room. It is very dirty and smelly. They should shampoo it regularly.
Location wise there are other hotels closer to the train station but Al Rigga is a nice place to stay with nearby cheap restaurants and budget shopping. A carrefour is also available about 10 min walk in a huge mall with plenty of retail shops of all types.
- Masood (2/5): Most horrible stay in a hotel ever! - On arrival at the hotel I was checked in after a short wait. During the check in process the lady at the counter asked some rather suspicious questions about the second guest who would later join me. She wanted to make sure it's not going to be an escort of some sort but answering her questions were rather awkward. I was then given key to room 719. On first inspection of the room I found out that there was not hot water and the room was absolutely filthy, bath was heavily stained and greasy, you could see grime on tiles and the sink tap was completely broken and unusable, sheets and towels were soiled and looked like had not been washed, a few of the room lights were also not working and the balcony door could not be locked. I went down to the reception and told them about the problems and they suggested I move to room number 718. 718 had as many problems as 719 and worst of all this room too didn't have hot water. at this point the hotel reception realized there was a plumbing problem and called the plumber to come and fix the problem. to cut it short it was around 22:00 when hot water flow was restored, even then water pressure was so slow I had to take a shower sitting down in the bath. I asked the hotel for compensation for the horrific experience I had which they completely ignored. the experience will daunt me for some time to come.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel was gross, left over food in the cabinets. Sheets seemed dirty.
- dil (4/5): Only one Indian girl at reception was nice to us - They don’t give complimentary water bottles.
Room has smell of cigarettes
Breakfast doesn’t have much options
- Verified traveler (2/5): not recommended - dirty and cheap hotel, refrigerator does not work , bathroom does not have curtain
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bad hotel - Whene I check in no one at reception and the key for room is not work he told me I have to call him where I need to go to my room every time and there was noise Frome desco and elevator and there is problem in the bathroom and not clean.
- Mazin (2/5): Worst hotel - Dirty, smelly and so small rooms. Just has agood location.
- Awais (10/5): giod - good
- Uttam (2/5): Stink and useless - All rooms stink and have smoking smell... Sounds from adjoining rooms.. By seeing single guest, hotel staff pre-assume why they are there.. Instead of taking security deposit, hotel took id deposit and refused to give it back till check out
- Verified traveler (4/5): - long waiting in check in
- JONATHAN (10/5): Excectional Stay - Great stay at Sun & Sands Downtown Dubai it is close to all the shopping area in Deira. Great Location, Friendly staff, clean rooms. Furniture needs updating.
- Vinesh (2/5): - Worst hotel I ever stayed in my life. Rude staff, poor Wifi, Broken showers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Staff made the experience great even though adv... - advertisement misleading,, amenities list a lie- 'gym'= 3 treadmills, 'wifi'=doesn't work, 'parking'= 10 spaces for 109 rooms
- NAveed (6/5): customer service needs Improvements ! - customer service needs Improvements !
- Jovelyn (6/5): - Typical 3 star hotel
- SS (8/5): A fine hotel for a short stay - This hotel would be suited for single men on a short stay.
The area, the "massage services" in the hotel , and type the "discos" in the hotel do not make it ideal for families, as there are a lot of men roaming around. Anyone can access all tje floors. No elevator access cards.
Staff were generally polite and helpful.
The hotel is old, quite run down, with musky carpets, but generally tidy. The bathrooms are clean but dated.
The location is the main selling point. Bustling area, close to a Metro station, 24hr restaurants, and there's no shortage of taxis in that area. Definitely not a swanky location but it is well suited for an average short stay single budget traveller.
- Ahmed (2/5): Staff?? - Not well
- austix (4/5): Unfriendly - Unfriendly reception staffs . To related with guests, a staff needs to be friendly, reasonable and logical
- hussain (2/5): bad hotel - The hotel is extremely bad. Rated as 3 stars is not correct.
- Verified traveler (2/5): very very bad................ - I will not suggest anybody to stay in this hotel. There are some pubs in the hotel that open from 11 pm till 3 pm you can't able to sleep. We paid for for deluxe room they given us king room and charged for deluxe.
Total experience is very bad .......................
- sean (4/5): A bit of a dump - Dodgy hotel in dodgy area
Sleezy
Noisy
Dirty
Demanded to hold onto my passport for stay!
- kibrom (6/5): service is not good - stuff receipt is good but the rome service is horrible. they don't provide you sufficient amenities in my stay of 15 days i reported more than 6 times about soap.this is unprecedented . They clean rooms almost at the end of the day some time you even uncleaned.
- UK Traveller (2/5): unfriendly environment - totally out of control hotel with any sign of proper management. The responsibility of the guy as the hotel manager was only to humiliating other staff in front of their customers, typical attitude you can usually see with low level managers in the third world countries.
- Verified traveler (8/5): close to metro - Its in good location with connected metro and bus facilities. But the sounds loud music during night. Also PC at business center was not working.I missed important meeting reply. So its good always keep 2 PC or the one in working condition. Overall , with this improvement , its a good hotel to stay for all activities.
- Yadollah (2/5): NOT a family hotel - It's a terribly maintained hotel with no towels in bathroom, no hangers in wardrobe, broken shower, leaking flush tank and an extremely noisy lobby with loads of night clubs operating in the evening. It's definitely NOT a family hotel.
In addition be careful if you give them your credit card as they have charged me extra and I had to talk with many impolite staff to get them back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): rude and impolite staff - Awful hotel! Poor service from reception! No health and safety! No mini bar! Should be 1star hotel!
Finally they have overcharged me on my credit card which I'm fighting for.
- Mwanakombo (2/5): - WE HAD A CONFIRMED BOOKING BUT ON REACHING THE HOTEL, THERE WAS NO ROOM AVAILABLE.
VERY DISSAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOTEL AND THE STAFF AT THE RECEPTION WERE VERY RUDE.
- Abubakar (2/5): not a nice place to stay - The room was bad, stained rug, horrible fragrance
- April (6/5): I like the location, near to downtown - At first, I was completely unfamiliar with the place, so I'm a little bit shock when I saw the front of the hotel. Although its the same as the picture looks like but its kinda old. The receptionist are very helpful when I check in, but when I check out they told me that I consume 1 Chivas which I didn't. Perhaps a little coordination with the room boy or whoever is checking at the minibar and communication as well to the receptionist and well documented may be the best way to avoid this incident.
My room is good, clean and refreshing. Although some of the things are needed to be replaced like the hair blower which I believed its been decade since they bought it, the bath tub do not have stopper, I haven't had the chance to use it cause there is no stopper. The hygienic kit which includes toothbrush, its a good thing I'm a traveler so I brought mine, I found nothing. The towel seems too old too, please replace it, I believe the color before it was purchased was white and now it turns out to grey. The pool scheduled was not informative at all. I mean I went upstairs all the way to the rooftop to swim but unfortunately it was closed because the scheduled for swimming is not the one it was posted on the door. The bar personnel was also very helpful and friendly. I suggest ventilation in the pool area during the night, I mean at least to provide electric fan for air circulation specially during humid air time. I still took the chance to experienced the pool in the morning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): I expected more from a "4star" hotel - Breakfast was awful! There were Not even scramble egg or orange juice!! It looks like they serve the leftovers from last night party. Ambience there is not good to go with family. There are many night clubs and relaxing massage IN THE HOTEL. So it is very noisy at night. Parking is awful. Only a few places.
- Albin (4/5): Average stayo - Average stay with tiered room. Average service and they couldnt give a spare access card! Pretty useless service.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not attend hotel it is the worst choice - It was awful, the worst service I have ever had and they are very rude, slow, bad wifi, tv, different room than advertised, keys did not work for 3 out 4 days, every little service was over charged by at least 20 UAE dirhams. Overall, horrific unpleasant stay.
- umesh (6/5): Maintenance is a must... - Waiting for 2 pm to check in was quite tiring,Since i arrived early to dubai.Staff were all ok,Especially cecilia the the reception. One thing i want to specify is They should provide batroom rugs or door mat which can absorb water after having used the shower especially, since the bedroom carpets get wet and moisture from the room makes it damp, followed by unpleasant smell. They should check the room completely before we check into the rooms,as lights were not working, door knobs were loose, etc.
- Z (2/5): Rude staff - Very rude staff, smelly room and was shockingly forced to check-out 12 hours early.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Booking Woes - the last thing one someone wants is a hold up upon check in . I had my confirmation # but it took them almost 20 minutes to FIND it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff. Restaurant is expensive, a cup of coffee costed me 20 dhs
- Paula F. (8/5): Perfect for relaxing - Lovely place to stay having your own cooking equipment and microwave meant you didn't have to rely on room service if you didn't want to eat out. Good selection on menu but not the best cooked.
Bed was a bit hard for me but overall room was comfortable.
Lovely pool area and very helpful staff would stay here again
