- Rafael (10/5): Amazing Stay. Keep something things in mind. - I have to say that we loved our stay. Our view to the canal was incredible. The check in process was easy. Breakfast was included but it was very basic, bread, cereals, some fruits, scrambled eggs. Nothing made to order so keep that in mind, we didn’t mind. There are also some stairs to go up to the hotel so if you have mobility issues reconsider. They do have a partial lift but I didn’t see another one the rest of the way up. What I loved the most was the view of the canal, I couldn’t stop staring out the window watching the gondolas go by. It was amazing. The location is also amazing as you are near everything specially San Marcos square which is like a 5 min walk or less. Also note that there is no reception. The gentleman that checked us in was lovely but I never saw him again nor anyone else except the gentleman working the breakfast. Personally I’d stay there again but keep in mind the stairs, no reception but all in all amazing stay. We had room #6
- Brandon (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Our stay here was wonderful. The location was perfect. It's a quick walk to St. Mark's Square, and it's in a quieter part of Venice. The room was very clean and spacious. The included breakfast was a huge bonus, and it was good. We would definitely stay here again on future trips to Venice.

After all that travel by train, boat, and walking, we got to the hotel and were greeted by a huge staircase, and we had to haul our luggage up almost three levels with no help at all. And get this, there wasn't any hot water in the bathroom for a shower! The toilet barely flushed, and you had to wait like 15 minutes between uses! I paid almost $600 for this, and it's really more like a two-star hotel. The only good thing was the location and the breakfast.

It took us a while to realize we had to ring a doorbell to get inside, may be nice to include that in the instructions.

Chef prepared breakfast in the morning and was very helpful, even was there early for our early departure when we left. Very clean room, the fourth bed could have been a little sturdier, but it was acceptable. Lovely room overlooking the canal, cleaned every day.

We only had breakfast 1 of 4 days because we had excursions that began at 8am and were not allowed to eat earlier. Flexibility would be nice instead of being treated that we were a bother.

Don’t be intimidated by the multiple locks to get in, this neighborhood is actually quite safe and the host was super friendly! My only real complaint is that the bed was not comfortable and a/c is inadequate for the size of the apartment.

The staff were superb and provided an excellent breakfast each morning. It is, though, important to know that there is no elevator at this location and 51 stairs (my daughter counted) to reach the guest rooms. If you have a lot of heavy luggage, you may not want to stay here. But if you’re traveling light, then it’s a wonderful place to stay in Venice!
- James (10/5): Great Place to Stay - Nice place. Great location. Wonderful hostess — Attentive and thoughtful. Room was comfortable. Piazza San Marco is less than 5 minutes away from the hotel. Lots of shopping (5th Avenue style) and great restaurants (both Italian and Hard Rock) nearby. The only thing: had some trouble keeping the mosquitos out of the room...bring some bug spray and you’ll be good.

The views from the 2 large (openable) windows are just breathtaking. Being on one of the busiest canals off the grand canal, there was always loads of interesting water activity and singing. We were treated like family from all staff the moment we arrived. They gave us loads of valuable information and took the time to make sure we were looked after. The breakfasts were a lovely touch that we looked forward to every morning. Be aware that there are many stairs to reach to top (and we had 4x24kg bags) - but it was all definitely worth it when you see the views. Fantastic location close to everything. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse!

- Verified traveler (4/5): Beautiful guesthouse let down by rude service - Recently renovated , this B&B was stylish from the private entrance stairs (3-4 flights) through to the spacious rooms ( we had a triple) with classic decor and modern bathroom. Continental breakfast was good with choice of eggs , great coffee . Fabulous location, 3min walk to St Marks Square and 7min walk to the Rialto bridge . With such exemplary reviews prior , I thought I found the perfect Venice rooms. However , our experience was marred by the indifferent and at times rude treatment by the hostess . It was the low in an otherwise good European trip. From our check in to the end of our 2N/ 3 day stay we highly disappointed and felt like unwelcome guests .We are seasoned travellers with over a hundred hotel / apartment and B&B stays between the 3 of us and this was my 4th visit to Venice. As an example, I had a problem with the safe ( and it was not a standard issue hotel one - have used loads of them ) , I was treated like an imbecile with a low IQ who could not read basic instructions. FYI , I am a native English speaker but of SE Asian descent . We did not expect or request anything special , just some courtesy and a smile or greeting . We did not get that. Service with no smile , just sullen stares. So uncomfortable given it is a 6 room guesthouse . I note that most of the positive reviews for this place have been from Western guests . So I suppose if you are Western, this might be a perfect place in Venice for you . For my next visit to Venice .... NOT
- Joan (10/5): Our Best Accommodation in our Three Week Stay! - Best accommodation during our three weeks in Italy! Christina is awesome; very friendly and helpful! She created an atmosphere that permeated the breakfast room which meant that the guests enjoyed each other as well. The room was also just wonderful--full of charm, with an excellent bathroom and a perfect mattress. We enjoyed watching the gondolas in the canals below our window. And loved the easy walk to the square with its music and atmosphere.
- Anthony (10/5): Highly Recommended for Comfort and Location - We stayed in the Guesthouse location. Perfect to wander Venice on foot - 5 min walk to San Marco, less than 15 min walk to Rialto. (big advantage) Very conveniently close to San Marco vaporetto station so short walk with limited bridges to negotiate with luggage (another big advantage) or just to access vaporetto services. Our Guesthouse host was especially helpful, whether providing local information, setting up a water taxi for us to the airport (due to unusual departure time), or just in providing great morning meal service. She exceeded our expectations in every dimension. Be aware, like many Venice lodgings, the rooms are two flights up. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was modern, and WiFi service reliable. Highly recommend the Guesthouse!

Also, google map does not work here and can't search italian, etc... Overall, if this is your first time, be prepared. I felt really lost after taxi driver left me in front of information center and internet did not work :-) But once you manage to find it, it is a great location and great room/space. newly remodeled and beautiful. If you have heavy luggage, you will need to lift to the 3rd floor - no elevator.

Accommodating and patient and gave great advice. She even called us a private water taxi that picked us up and took us to the ferry terminal since we didn't know how that all worked in Venice.

There are steps to go up so that could be the only draw back, but she did have a lift to carry our luggage up 1/2 of the stairs.

It was great to open the windows and watch (and listen) to the gondolas heading down the canal. 5 minutes from San Marco, 5 minutes from the vaporetto, in the middle of the high end shopping stores. - Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was central and easy to find. The woman at the front desk was informative and generally lovely. The breakfast was more than I expected and the room were spacious.
- Jieun (10/5): Guesthouse Cà dell’Angelo - Cleanliness: room and bathroom is spotlessly clean and the communal dining area is always kept extremely clean as well Quality of service: Christina is a very good host, very welcoming and helpful with our needs. Breakfast selection was great and also Christina makes the most amazing coffee! Maria was also really attentive before check-in, very responsive to our enquiries. Hotel amenities: fresh towels and decent toiletries provided in room. We’ve asked for a universal adaptor which was provided in our room. Temperature control in room was very easy and wifi signal is very strong. Location: amazing location, under five minutes walk to San Marco square and bus stop. We could come back to our room during the day to get some rest and go out in the evening since everything is so close to this hotel.

- LateTom (10/5): - The room was spacious, one of the largest we have found in our year in Europe. The breakfast was great and you may order eggs cooked to your requirements. Location was very central: five minutes to water buses or St. Mark's Basilica, 100' to Gucci store and other shopping, and restaurants are everywhere. The best amenity was Kathyrinya's welcome to the guesthouse, sitting down with us for 30 minutes and giving us an overview of Venice, and her smile every morning as she prepared our coffee.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Super Location and Great Service - Super central location. Large room and bathroom, superb service from owner, nice breakfast each morning. Three to four flights of stairs to get to the lobby and breakfast area.
- Andrew (10/5): A lovely place to stay - The guest house is a little tricky to find but head for the street with all the designers on and it's down the street opposite Gucci with a pharmacy on the corner. The owner was delightful and very helpful. The room was lovely, all new and clean, with a lovely big bathroom. Breakfast was great, lovely coffee and a good continental selection with eggs cooked to order. It was a couple of minutes walk to St. Mark's square and very handy to explore the area. The owner gave us a card for 10% off at Calice, a restaurant round the corner, and the food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We'd definitely recommend this guest house. Wifi was great too
- Kathleen (10/5): Recommended - The Guesthouse is perfectly located, very close to the Piazza San Marco and in the heart of the luxury shopping district. You go down a narrow alley about half a block off the busy thoroughfare and there is a wooden door with a small notice by the key pad that lets you know you are in the right place. Very subtle. The rooms are very tasteful, the breakfast is wonderful and caters for most tastes (ham, cheese, croissants, fruit tarte, toast, juice, yoghurt, eggs to order are available and great coffee!) It is air conditioned which was a god send as the temperature was 32 degrees when we were there. The proprietor is charming and helpful. The only drawback I can think of is that you have to climb a couple of floors to get to it but the bridges of Venice get you used to stairs. The rooms are tasteful and the en suite in our room was lovely - clean, modern and it had 2 sinks and a bidet. Wifi works brilliantly. I think we were very lucky to have found it and I would happily go back tomorrow.

- Martyn (10/5): - What a view! (Room 6) Great service, great location, close to everything including, importantly, the transportation links. General Venice Tip - get out of the main square....and keep going. Get lost. Eat ice cream, don't trust google maps when between high buildings!
- Katy (10/5): Close to st marks square. - We had the most delightful stay at the Guesthouse. The rooms are gorgeous, breakfast was made everyday and Kristina helped us with reservations and taxis. Amazing 2 days.
- Ginger (10/5): Wonderful gem! - This is an amazing place to stay. We loved it and the rooms were spacious. The breakfast was great and when we were leaving early, we were fixed a breakfast to have the next morning. There are a number of stairs and no elevator which was not a concern for us but may be for some. We would definitely return.
