• Carlos (10/5): - If I remember correctly, we got the 2nd cheapest option (or the 1st cheapest option)... the room was very small, but it was enough for our needs. The only issue was that everything was easily heard from the hallway (I think we got 1st floor, Rm. 106 or 109), from the room to the outside and viceversa. No big deal for us, but it would have been better if the room was more sound proof. The staff was superb! The surrounding area, not to mention the road getting here, was unbelievably beautiful. Well worth the trip.

• LUIS (6/5): - El hotel es muy bueno la comida excelente el tema de darle de comer a los colibríes es muy bueno pero la habitacion 208 la cual nos tocó es terrible el piso estaba dañado el vidrio de la ducha estaba dañado el tamaño de la habitación deplorable para tener un camarote y una cama doble. Me hicieron el cargo de las dos noches de hotel antes de mi llegada a las 10 am me pareció extraño ya que siempre uso a expedia para mis reservas y siempre pago en recepción, no deberían poner en servicio esa habitcion 208 por respeto al huésped sinceramente

• Juan (10/5): One of a Kind Experience - From a couple.days before the stay, the hotel personnel reached out to confirm and validate everything to avoid any delays. They gave us clear and specific instructions on how to arrive to the property. At the checking, the process was easy and simple. The room was spectacular along with the view. Food, pools and tour are nothing short of exceptional. 1000% worth and recommended.

• olga (4/5): Como en ninguna otra experiencia: mala sensación - 1-IMPORTANTE revisar la ruta para llegar, hay 2 rutas: la PELIGORSA y la adecuada (por el ocho). 2- El check in no fue agradable, ni servicial, ni flexible; fue muy tajante y sobre todo NULA escucha al húesped. 3- Nos ofrecimos a dar medicamento a otro huesped porque NO cuentan con BOTIQUIN para el mal de altura. 3. El lugar es lindo, no creo que valga la pena el costo, sólo por la experiencia de los colibrís. 4. Nuestra habitación fue la Junior aunque, requerimos cambio ya que la chimenea de leña se apagaba y ahogaba la habitación con los propios gases. Ocurrió por 2 motivos: falta de capacitación al personal y porque se apagaba sola en menos de 15 mins. Tenemos video de cómo es que se apagaba sola y los gases quedaban dentro de la habitación, por lo que no nos sentíamos seguros para dormir. Nos tomó mas de 1 hr y media para solicitar la diferencia del costo de la hab. en efectivo (por una hab. más sencilla) La Srita. de recepción nos comentó que el reembolso sería bajo nuestro seguimiento con el banco y con una espera aproximada de 3-4 meses. Se logró conversar con la Responsable de Reserva quien facilitó el proceso de devolución correspondiente en efectivo. 4- Después de la llamada con Reservas, la Srtia. nos ofreció la cena gratis por el inconveniente pero al día siguiente nos comentó que el gerente estaba cobrando a nosotros la cena o sino ella correría con la cuenta. La filosofía del hotel NO nos pareció para nada hospitalario, INTEGRO, ni orientado al cliente.

Wish were were able to open a window but they were sealed. Other than that our stay was perfect and the staff is super nice.

• Daimon (10/5): - This is a beautiful property which is perfect for couples and families. We stayed for two nights and it is more than enough. Our daily routine here was going to thermal water during morning and evening, during mid day we went to Murillo (2 hours away from the hotel) and the Black Lagoon. There is a good and humble spot in the way called Bodega El Sifón where you can buy local food as empanadas, drink coffee and eat white cheese. The hotel also offer complimentary trekking tour to local walking trails that take you to waterfalls (2) and to a spot where many hummingbirds approach. You can even buy a feeder with nectar to have an unique experience giving them nectar. I will definitely book here again. The only thing is that my parents stayed at room 109 and it is EXTREMELY SMALL, you basically can’t walking inside the room and for the price you pay, it is not worth it. The food at the restaurant is delicious and very good prices. Alexis and Rai, both waiters, are super kind. Mateo at the front desk is very helpful. Tip: if you are driving here, as we did, be aware where you see the sign Termales del Ruiz 7 km (arrow to the right), it means you need to take the dirt road, this can take you up to 20’. You may lose cellphone signal in the road.

• Paul (2/5): Quoted us double the price to get there and back - We'd heard that you could get to this place for 40,000 one way. The day before we took a different cab for 50,000 for an hour drive. But when we called the hotel and asked them if they could help us arrange transportation, they passed us the contact of a buddy and quoted us 200,000. With that price, the transportation would be more than the room. I called the guy to see what he'd say. I asked him how much it'd be and he said 190,000. I said that was high, and he immediately lowered it to 150,000. I didn't even push hard and he could tell I was a foreigner with my spanish. The price should definitely be much lower than 150,000 too. We never ended up going to the hotel. It's not like they don't know how much it should cost to get there. It shows a lack of integrity for them to give us such a bad quote.

Dicho todo eso, insisto en q es un paraíso

• Gary (10/5): A great place to relax after birding Los Nevados - I've been wanting to say at this place for a long time. It's great for birdwatchers given the location, and especially nice to have a retreat at the end of a day of birding in the cold. The restaurant menu could use a little more variety but everyone was very helpful and pleasant. Since the staff knew we were there for birds, they made sure to put bananas out for the tanagers.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel lindo - Es un lugar muy bonito, la comida es buena y tiene el termal que es algo muy bueno pero desde que ice check in hasta el check out el hotel estuvo sin Energía y no tienen otra alternativa y a esa temperatura bañarse con agua helada no es lo que uno quisiera, igual que no tuvimos calefacción entonces. Pero el hotel lo recomiendo y de no ser por este detalle todo hubiera sido perfecto

• Verified traveler (8/5): Off the grid, high above Manizales. - The property itself is set in a stunning location, the hotel is in great condition, the room was comfortable and the thermal pool was very enjoyable. There are two routes to get there from Manizales, and each takes about an hour and 20 minutes. I'd recommend the highway route (as opposed to the route from Gallinazo). It's a bit further, but the road is better and the landscape is breathtaking. While breakfast was good, dinner was disappointing, unfortunately. Also, we'd have loved a lounge area with maybe some couches, books and a fireplace to relax in in the evening. There are three dining areas, perhaps one of them could be turned into this kind of room. All in all, a good stay and I would stay here again.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxing mountain lodge, simple and rejuvinating - Excellent natural relaxation in a rustic mountaineer-style lodge with history paralleling the nearby Nevado de Ruiz. The building is well preserved, and the food is good but with reason there is a limited menu at this remote place 4000m high above the city of Manizales. The main attraction of course is are the hot springs that keep a pool circulating with hot sulfuric water. The landscaping is beatufil and there is a waterfall that cuts through the area and the views are breathtaking, although much of the time you are in literally in the clouds. The thunderstorms are unbelievable (whether you like them or not!). The unfortunate part was that we paid for three people even though we were two. That is because the only option available on this site was a ´3-person room´. When we arrived the host was reviewing the screen and apparently confused by the price we were quoted via hotels com, which was more than the two-person rate. The lodge atmosphere can be noisy calling for early rising so it all evens out I guess.
• Julian (10/5): Hotel muy muy hermoso - Hotel muy bonito, a 3.500 mts, en una zona muy hermosa como lo es la zona del parque nacional de los nevados. Todo en el hotel es muy nuevo, excelentes instalaciones y los empleados muy amables. La piscina de aguas termales es deliciosa. A 20 min en carro de la entrada del parque del nevado del ruiz y a 45 min de manizales. Ojo hace mucho frio.

• JAVIER (6/5): NO SE RESPETA EL COSTO DE LAS RESERVAS PREVIAS - El sitio y sus alrededores son muy relajantes, la atención del personal es muy buena, pero pese a mostrarles la reserva contratada con ustedes donde se incluía todo, procedieron a cobrar dineros diferentes y mas altos. la persona a cargo solo podía cobrar la tarifa que le estipulaban y no tenia autoridad de aplicar la tarifa de la reserva. finalmente pague lo que me cobraron en el hotel, pero me sentí a disgusto, por que no se si es confiable tomar reservas con Hoteles.com
