- Lisa (9/5): A good option when staying in the valley. - Rooms have been nicely updated since my last stay there several years ago. Staff were incredibly friendly. The tv channel options sucked. If it wasn’t for my Netflix account it would have been a long boring night. Also, I am allergic to shellfish so eating at the restaurant wasn’t an option given the current menu.

- Nancy (6/5): I like the location and staff but overall I would rate it as 3 star - Property was beautiful. Bathrooms are dated and did not find it very clean. The gym was extremely dirty - cardio machines had sweat all over them. There was no wipes or spray in the room to wipe down after use. Floors were extremely dirty. I was there at 6am so it should have been fresh.

I realize it’s a dog friendly room but there was a lot of hair and dirt . The pool could also use some attention as far as cleaning goes . Other than that a wonderful stay

I was there two nights and ate dinner in the newly renovated restaurant both night. Great food, great service. Complimentary morning coffee a plus. The comfy bed was definitely a treat.

- pdsimba (10/5): Great attention to detail and a fantastic staff! - Great view from the 3rd floor (Valley View) was worth the extra cost. Comfy bed and a sofa too! Room was very clean. They were doing quite a bit of construction in the hallways and stairwells but it wasn't too loud. Great pool, sauna, exercise room and two fabulous outdoor hot tubs! Used the robes from the room to go to/from the pool. Very cozy. The staff were awesome! From the front desk to the bartender and wait staff in Terroir (the onsite bar/restaurant). There was even a free wine tasting. We asked for more Nespresso pods to make coffee and they came right away. Really lovely experience from check in to check out. The cold March weather didn't allow us to try any of the other outdoor offerings (horseshoe pitch, rooftop lounge, etc) but we may be back to check them out. They even had delicious apples. Really nice touch. It is a little on the expensive side but we had a blast. Thank you!
- brookesQ3348CM (8/5): A lovely spot - Old Orchard Inn overlooks the apple -growing Annapolis Valley and its own orchard of heritage apples, which it shares with local citizens at harvest time. The staff are friendly and eager to help. It is very clean. The restaurant serves delicious fresh food in a room with a view of the valley and a large wood-burning fireplace. The hotel is undergoing a remodel and redecoration under new owners. Unfortunately, there are a few misses: the comfortable beds are oddly very high while the toilets in rooms must have been purchased from a kindergarten supplier. Sound travels far too easily from adjacent rooms and hallways. My comments to the facilities manager about the beds and toilets were dismissed. Nonetheless, I would return again.

But I must say , the staff were above and beyond! Valerie , and Glenne Catherine were too sweet. Just a joy to be greeted by them. The food was excellent! Keira was terrific at her job. Its a perfect location to access sightseeing in the valley. Probably 15 minutes away from Bald Eagle viewing site. It was all in all a great experience, a fin e example of Maritime hospitality. Highly recommended!

Stayed in the newly renovated part of the hotel - very comfortable bed, nice snowy view of the front orchard. Staff (front desk, restaurant, room stewards) are incredibly kind and welcoming. Great breakfast options - loved the oatmeal porridge, good gluten free options too. No microwave in my room, but I didn't need one so not a problem. I would like to return during early spring when the apple blossoms are in bloom or late summer when the many farmers markets are in full swing.

- Dream01069254347 (6/5): Disappointing customer experience - An excellent location. Beauty view. Very nice restaurant - excellent food, service is usually excellent, however don't be in a rush for breakfast on busy morning. All hotel owners, management and staff should have to read materials and/or watch/attend seminars by Horst Schulze who talks about a premium customer experience. Several things at this hotel are sub par ... (1) Asked front desk for water, and they told me to walk down the hall to a vending machine that doesn't work. (2) Asked front desk where is a garbage can and recycling bin, and they instructed me to walk to a bathroom that is locked, then told me to walk to the next one around the corner. Did not offer to help. (3) Asked for a glass of wine to take to our room and told I can't, then asked for room service for a glass of wine to our room and again told (quite sternly & coldly) that we can't, but they offer to sell us a bottle of wine to you which wasn't what I asked for. There was no attempt to explain reason or offer any reasonable solution. (4) On a previous stay the wifi didn't work and no one could figure it out. Told me it was on my end, then an hour later I found out from another front desk staff that it happens all the time. (5) TV is frustrating. No Canadian channels. No Canadian news or sports. We have stayed there 4 times since September. Each time they manage to disappoint us. Rooms are very dated - old furnishings. We have seen that some rooms have been updated but we have not been in one of those yet. We do not normally write reviews or complain, but I felt we needed to this time, finally. Only rated 3.5 but charging like a 4-4.5, thus we expect more.
- messengrl (8/5): Welcome return to the Old Orchard Inn - The last time we stayed at the Old Orchard Inn was 2020, so we were quite surprised by how much has changed. The management and employees have done an amazing job of updating the inn, which used to have a rustic "hunting lodge" vibe. Happily, the fireplace stayed and is so welcome on a cold winter's day. We appreciated the warm, welcoming staff, who undoubtedly have had many challenges to deal with as renovation work continues. Despite all that's going on, there was minimal disruption to our experience as guests. Our room was comfortable and nicely updated from when we were last there six years ago. However, the highlight of our stay was the food at Terroir: Creative, beautifully presented and, most importantly, delicious. Our server at dinner was exceptional. He took care to listen to our questions and help us make our selections. We will be back!

I expected two queen beds in the hotel but was sent to a tiny cramped cabin in the woods, a long walk to the hotel for meals or pool. That should have been specified.

Neighbouring table had to wait for her tea as there was no clean tea pots. Plenty of staff moving around looking busy but you didn’t need to sanitize the same table three times… nobody guiding what seems to be a young inexperienced staff

- kp237 (2/5): Very disappointing - Very disappointing. We booked through an agency, but when we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the dining room was not available for our two day Christmas stay. We were told that the hotel was not responsible for us not knowingbecause it was the agency that booked the reservation! Apparently the hotel had not informed them. Even on the hotel fact information sheet we were handed the dining room hours were included. The right hand didn’t seem to know what the left hand was doing. It being Christmas there were no other restaurants open in the area so for two days we had to scrounge food elsewhere, very unpleasant, and no attempts were made to offer us alternatives or even a reduction in fees or a complementary bottle of wine (Also it was very grumpy desk clerk… perhaps angry at having to work Christmas?) The grumpiness continued when we called down from the room to say that the coffee maker wasn’t working properly and could they send somebody up to fix it …said clerk just said “no.” When we asked if we could have our grandchildren over for a swim, the desk clerk said “no” …registered guests only. Dare I ask for a stool for the shower?… I did so to my regret as the answer was the same… I never even tried to find out if someone could help us with the TV, which seemed a mystery. Happily, what partially saved the holiday was the arrival of our Christmas angel in the name of “Wanda”… we encountered her as she was doing her security rounds in the hall and she asked us how we were enjoying our stay and got an earful. A very profuse apology from her about the dining room and many regrets at how inconvenient it was for us., a quick trip and she replaced the coffee maker and even made the coffee for us, and best of all when I asked about the grandchildren in the pool, she said, “of course they can come and if anyone asks just tell them Wanda said so”. If we ever go back it will certainly be because of Wanda, but overwhelmingly it was not a happy experience.

- SilverOrlov (8/5): Good place for stay with couple of minor claims. - The hotel has big parking lot, including a zone in front of the long wing of rooms, which you can access directly from your room. After renovation, the building looks stylish, combining old and modern design elements. We especially liked the real fireplaces in the dining room and the hall where our Christmas event was held. The hotel has an ATM, swimming pool, spa, tennis court, ice machines and several vending machines with snacks. They also have a red former barn, which we used for dancing (I think it's there for that purpose as well in general, so as not to disturb guests of the main hotel building). The area has small separate houses too. The cuisine here is good. Both the evening event food and breakfast were delicious. Me and my wife ordered on breakfast Orchad French Toast, Apple Oatmeal and 2 Hot chocolate, and on the event we tried a chicken, grilled vegetables with potato, and several desserts. The prices on rooms and food/beverages here are normal I think. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are good. There is an iron and board here too. I would give this place 5/5 if not several "minuses". They are minor in general, but in a sum - it can't give to a place a maximum rating. ... (1) The shower head was covered with unpleasant residue. (2) The door directly to the hotel parking lot had a rather wide gap, and we had to place a towel by the door to avoid freezing and catching a cold from the draft at night. (3) Instead of a regular mini-fridge, the room had a wine fridge. (4) The rooms have interior doors between rooms. They only open from one side because there's no handle on the other, but it still creates an unpleasant feeling. I don't like things like that. (5) At breakfast, I asked for warm water, even explaining how (3/4 hot + 1/4 cold), and they just brought me plain water, slightly cooler than room temperature. I'm beginning to suspect that in Canada, anything that doesn't have a ton of ice in the glass is considered warm... not only because of this place, but also about other restaurants in general. ... I mentioned the first two things at reception, and they wrote them down and thanked me. Overall, I was pleased with the interactions with the staff and the service, except for the slightly unpleasant experience with the water. So, yes overall I can recommend this place.

- GrandTour56806198724 (8/5): Senior point of view - I experienced some difficulties, it has been a while since I’ve stayed in a hotel. As a senior I got 10 percent off, but found the beds were too high off the ground, I could have used a step stool. The dispensers in the bathroom were hard to squeeze. The technology presented problems such as I couldn’t figure out the phone or the t.v. , didn’t even try the Coffee maker. Had trouble with pass keys a few times. The little lights by the bed didn’t all work, I guess it is not as easy as changing a bulb. Things have changed . I really appreciated the kettle though the selection of teas were all caffeinated. Items on the Terroir menu were mostly meat based, and expensive so I shopped at nearby Noggins Farm Market. The pool was a bonus. The dry sauna was wonderful, but there were no instructions to operate, so another trip to the front desk. Staff was very accommodating and understanding. My dog was accepted, and the pet fee only charged for one night of the stay!

Access to outdoor hottub until midnight - one of our favorite features. There is a restaurant - we did not unfortunately have time in our scheudle to go this time to try it out. It looked busy and the menu looked delicious. The gentleman at the front desk was so pleasant and knowledgeable! He was so kind to honor our noon check out request! The general manager must be doing a fantastic job to have such a great staff.

We enjoyed both the hot tub and propane firepit. There were lots of towels on hand and everything was well maintained. We will definitely be back.

Our meal in the restaurant was really good and well looked after by our server whose name unfortunately escapes me but clearly very experienced me looked after us. Also had an enjoyable breakfast. We didn’t try out the rest of the facilities due to time, but swimming pool looked good. We only had one night but one of the best hotels on our trip.

Check-in was easy, the beds were comfortable, and the decor was amazing. The room had a microwave, a fridge, and a coffee maker. The views are exceptional, and having a restaurant on site means you can enjoy the scenery without going far. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the fall when the colours turn the valley into a postcard.

I ordered room for 5 people and when I went to make sofa bed up there were no sheets or blankets. Had to go to desk. The people in the room next to me could be heard very easily. Could hear them talking and opening and closing their doors. Thin walls?!!

- garygE8974OH (4/5): My experience - We stayed at the Old Orchard for a convention from Oct 8-10/2025. When booking my reservation they got several things wrong and after 3 e-mails I gave up and said I will wait until I get there. I told them the dates of our stay, they got that wrong, I told them what group I was with, again wrong, price was wrong, even during check out we weren't asked how we liked our stay. We found the carpet in room 305 to be very soiled, not good. We ate at the restaurant several times, the setting was very nice but when my wife asked for a roll to go with her salad she was told it would be an extra $4.00, couldn't believe it. Probably won't return. I didn't take any photos of the room but I wish I had.

We brought our dog and stayed in a very nice room on the main floor that we could drive right up to. The hotel grounds were a fantastic place to walk with him and the large high school next door gave us even more room to walk and enjoy the incredible views. We really liked the location too, close enough to town, great hikes, etc. The restaurant was excellent, service very good and the hot tub was clean and easily accessible. We will definitely recommend it!

- Departure27186599845 (8/5): dated but nonetheless a good place to use as a base - We stayed five nights in one of the cabins. Overall the inn is somewhat dated, which in our case led to the wall air heater not functioning properly the first night (making for an uncomfortable sleep). But it was rectified the following morning. The cabin was spacious and comfortable. Location in Wolfville, right off hwy 101 interchange is ideal for visiting anywhere from Halifax to Annapolis Royal, both just over an hour away.
- 485bruces (6/5): Beautiful views. Good restaurant. Rooms need updating and soundproofing. - We had a marvelous view from our room. The on-site restaurant serves delicious food and local wines. The Inn is a short drive to Wolfville, Port Williams and Canning. The only drawbacks are the rooms are noisy especially when you have loud guests next door in the main building and the old carpets are stained and need replacing.
- Benoit (6/5): - Check in was supposed to be at 3 pm but ours was delayed because the room as not ready. We were told 15 minutes but it took over 30 minutes before getting the keys to our room. This despite the fact that numerous other check in were processed in the meantime and ALL of them got their room immediately. I think it is because the booking was done through Expedia and our room being one of the worse in the facility is not given priority. We booked well ahead of the dates and paid $700 for 2 nights yet treated as 2nd class customers.

- Iona (8/5): - I was very pleased with the room with its beautiful view of Blomidon and the Minas Basin. My only suggestion is please provide new rubber bath mats and install secure grab bars in the tub. I asked for and received a rubber mat but it was old and did not adhere to the tub floor. The tub was high and hard for arthritic knees to step in without something to hang on it and slip-free footing. I managed to shower with one foot still on the bathroom floor and curtain around me! Not comfortable. Safety is a concern for everyone but especially for seniors. Otherwise, the room was great, the bed comfy, the food good.

Staff didn’t seem to be concerned over the lack of cleanliness and that it was ok and “pictures used on the internet for advertisement can be misleading “ Had the attitude that the word “rustic” used the description of the accommodation made it acceptable for the lack of cleanliness. This property failed miserably in my expectations

Dining room staff were either understaffed or undertrained. Took a long time for hostess to greet/sit us. Then we were ignored. One of us got the menu from the lobby and others went to bar to get water. Lots of tables with dirty dishes and food left around the DR. Checkin was also a bit clunky. The one night stay (Fri to Sat) was pricey ($375) so I expect a higher level of service.

Outside there was a picnic table but the ground slope was so steep we didn’t feel it was wise to use it. The outdoor hot tubs were wonderful. There is a contradiction between the main building (which looks new and modern and has a spa) and the cottages (which are very rustic).
