Guest Reviews
- Ryan (6/5): - The friendly staff and location Minor issues for example the lock on our door didn't lock, the teaspoons in the room were literally sticky (disgusting), the hair dryer didn't work and the sink needed a plunger
- Julie (8/5): - Convenient for london
- Paul (8/5): -
- marco (9/5): - personale molto gentile e professionale
- Jonathan (10/5): -
- Pat (7/5): Location fabulous but.... - Location and staff ( well done Leo!)were excellent! Room was a lovely size with great outlook over the river. The hotel, particularly the bedroom, was cold. To the point it affected my sleep. The ham and cheese toastie was v poor. Chips were good. My companion did not enjoy his breakfast - i didnt have breakfast so cannot comment! Hotel needs a bit of tlc.
- Sara (7/5): - Good size room Hot water took over 5 minutes to warm up and the plug in the bathtub doesn't seal so couldn't have a bath. There is parking but gets busy quickly. Room key stopped working the day before check out
- Anon. (7/5): - Staff were great. It was a relief to find such friendly and helpful staff after a long journey. Breakfast was good too. No sound insulation at all. Very noisy when people were walking through the corridors even if they weren't speaking.
- SHIRIN (10/5): Very comfortable pleasant stay. - Cute, clean with exceptional view over the lake. Nothing really.
- Caroline (7/5): Had a nice stay. Weather was good so walked into the town centre. - The size of room was very good.
Location was superb.
Breakfast was excellent.
On site parking. The TV was not working. Told reception who sent the maintenance man he could not get it to work.
Central heating did not work but it was late when we discovered so told reception on checkout
- Tracy (3/5): - The view from the club room was beautiful. Overlooking the boating lake every morning having a cup of coffee was so relaxing The Club Room was not as expected for the extra £100. It was more of a standard room with a river view. No signal to watch TV, even after telling the guy on reception and he came to tune it in but wiped all the channels off and still no signal. Thermostat was broken on the radiator, had to hold the button down on the kettle until it boiled for it to stay down. Stayed for the Murder Mystery night and we where not sent the menu via email so did not know what the 2 course meal was until the day and there was no options, just fish cakes for a starter and chicken breast stuffed with peppers wrapped in parma ham, lumpy mash and some broccoli and carrots. No alternative for people who don't like what was given.
- Courtney (9/5): -
- Alison (10/5): Best stay I have had in the area - Character , the views, room size Nothing
- Gerard (3/5): -
- Jessica (2/5): - Location
The duty manager for the eveing/night. The room was oppressive. It was so hot, none of us slept.
- Bardi (9/5): -
- Nicola (9/5): - Location and staff Nothing..hence repeat booking was made
- geoffrey (8/5): - Good clean accomodation, great location. Booking 5 rooms, then having to pay extra to use one of them to get changed upon arrival.
- Steve (10/5): -
- peter (6/5): Nice location, read only priced . Did the job reqd would stay there again. - Nice and reasonably priced, and nice location. Room was very hot, couldn’t turn heat down anyway.
- Francesca (3/5): Rude, uncommunicative staff - The room was okay but way too hot. The location was good. The staff were frankly terrible
- Graham (10/5): I'd return - The setting and the cleanliness The food was average
- Krystyna (7/5): - Super location. A tad dated, but the price reflects this. The main thing is that it was clean and beds were comfortable.
- Sue (8/5): Comfortable and relaxing - Lovely environment. Quirky and old fashioned in a good way. Nothing
- Mark (1/5): - The guy who did reception, bar & waiter on his own! was very helpful Room was too hot, shower was cold, not enough parking
- Theresa (5/5): - Its location is lovely, right by the river. Staff are pleasant and helpful. I have stayed quite a few times over the years due to its convenient location. It is sad to see it declining from years of under investment.. Breakfast ok, nothing special.Bathroom clean but very basic.
- Clive (7/5): Excellent location on The Thames, enjoyable food, friendly staff. Has a degree of charm due to its age, but needed the p - Location. Food. Staff. Rather tired: needed a new coat of paint in many places; a bit grubby in room.
- Debi (7/5): Pleasant stay - Location Needs updating showers/ Tv
- Joel (6/5): Lovely area , friendly staff , no parking , need renovation. - The area is lovely and quiet. The hotel is all right , lovely building .the staff is friendly . Parking a car is a nightmare , I couldn't access the hotel car park and no space around .
The building is charming , but when you walk in , it is a bit run down . Could do with some modernisation .
- Kirsty (5/5): Friendly and helpful staff but needs tlc - First room was very stained and ceiling had stains and cracks. Second room was a lot better but then had a dripping toilet that let us awake all night Poor decor in rooms
- Barbara (9/5): - Lovely staff, great room. Blind in bathroom was very dusty
- Bi (10/5): We were given 2 rooms together upon our request which was very helpful . Staff was friendly and We all had a great stay - The location and the views.
- Crystal (8/5): - The beautiful views
- Ernest (10/5): -
- Terry (7/5): Comfortable bed slept very well - Did not have breakfast
Needed to be at work Size of the room was somewhat small
But everything was there
- Derangere (10/5): - Le charme et l emplacement, le calme
- Regular Traveller 1 (8/5): -
- sophia (6/5): I liked it but it wasn’t up to standard . Quaint - Lovely location for work Parking is awful and pub bar is tiny. Room old and tired .
- Eleanor (7/5): -
- Kim (8/5): Great stay staff were excellent - It’s position for the town centre It was a bit dated however it was built in 1700 so that would explain everything
- Danny (9/5): -
- Colum (10/5): -
- jjenner1968 (8/5): Pleasant place to stay - I stayed here as away on business and needed overnight accommodation (Premier Inn was full I’m glad to say)
A pleasant building with a friendly team. Observations not criticisms are no hairdryer in the room so I had to ask for one, heating was on all night so had to turn off radiator, tiny shower so kept getting shower curtain touching me and I’m not a big person!!
Food for dinner and breakfast was good, Leo on reception/bar/restaurant was great (yes he is a jack of all trades). Decent amount of places to park. Wish I’d had more time to spend and explore…
This will now be my preferred place to stay in the area.
- Barbara (8/5): - Friendly staff, nice and quiet Room very small
- Cindy (8/5): Welcoming and Warm - Situated on the river Food needs to be reviewed. Chicken burger was very dry and bland.
- Jose Maria (7/5): - El lugar donde está situado , tranquilo y al lado del tamesis , Es un hotel bonito, pero le hace falta una renovación y un poco más de limpieza
- STANLEY (10/5): - A really lovely, comfortable and praceful setting; Warren Lodge provided me with just what I was looking for at the price I was wanting. That I haven't been here I before!
- Marc (10/5): -
- simon (4/5): The whole place needs a refurb/updating, photos must have been taken some years ago - Onsite bar & restaurant Room tiny, shower head leaking
- Robert (3/5): Poor - Location Very old and tired. Bed uncomfortable. We left our charger there but when we called they said if they find it they would let us know. We know we left it there but they have not let us know and so have kept it.
- Kevin (8/5): Comfortable - Not much to choose from for breakfast and to expensive
- Wander54154826036 (4/5): Needs the hotel inspector take a visit - Sadly this was a terrible stay. The toilet had a large crack in it. The hotel smelt badly of solvent paint (why doesn't the contractor use waterbased). We ate there yes with this awful smell. Waited 45 minutes for fish and chips which were very greasy. A further 5 minutes for the mushy peas. No clotted cream for the brownie as per the menu. The menu is terrible there is a wide selection of mainly burgers.... macdonalds is far cheaper and quicker. Waited 40 minutes for breakfast and took them less than 5 minutes to ask me to pay before eating it. Beans disgusting, half a fresh 🍅 1 hashbrown, 1 sausage, 2 bacon 2 eggs. Tea. And you only get 1 tea or coffee. £14 not surprised they ask for the money so quick as I imagine nobody would pay for that. Old building however the out building rooms 31-39 is like the motels you see in movies in USA that he hire on an hourly rate, if you understand the concept.

- Dawson-Nowak (6/5): I’d call this place perfectly fine, it’s great pricing, cheap and servicable. We ate at the hotel on our second visit an - It’s a pretty location in a quiet area but convenient for us to visit family. It’s a little tired inside but for the wonderful price this is something we easily overlook
- Paul (10/5): Great location great value -
- Pamela (7/5): We enjoyed our stay as the hotel is in a perfect location to meet our friends. - Location with river views, and friendly staff. In both bathrooms the shower water pressure was low, and the shower heads needed cleaning and also the shower heads could not be tightened on the shower pole. Also for safety reasons there should be non slip shower mats in the baths, and a grab rail fitted to enable getting out the bath safely. In general the bathrooms need more maintenance.
- Abdul (1/5): Who want to wake up to a bathroom filled with wasps? - There was nothing to like! My worst hotel experience i have ever had in my life! Was woken up by my 9 year old at 4am screaming and trembling in fear as our bathroom had a wasp infestation. You read that right, WASPS!
- Jo (3/5): Not an enjoyable 1 night stay - Lovely riverside location There is no soundproofing between rooms.
- Anouska (1/5): A nighmare. - Awful greeting at the front desk. Not polite, not smiling when they could not find my booking as i forgot i booked it under my stepsons name.
He was rude and I felt quite uncomfortable.
I dropped of my two stepsons as we were staying at my brothers for a weekend party. I assumed we could pay at the end as i forgot my card at my brother’s house after driving 2.5 hrs hours to his house.
The man at reception said no pay now and would not let us pay over the phone,so I drove
to my brothers down the road (15 mins and grabbed my card, my two steps sons were given a glass of soda water while they waited in 30 degree heat.
The room was awful, the bathroom door did not lock and when they complained they did not do much. The air conditioning was not adequate and room resembled a squat.
Don’t waste your money and sleep in your car if you are desperate. The service and awfully dirty room.
- Rob (7/5): - Rustige omgeving, mogelijkheid tot diner Beetje vergane glorie, dunne kamerwandjes, je hoort alles van je buren, beetje stug personeel (Oekrainer)
- Kevin (7/5): I usually stay at the Travelodge in Chertsey but I will be staying here from now - Great place to stay. the best thing I can say is I usually stay at the Travelodge in Chertsey but i will be staying here from now on.
The room was basic but clean, the facilities were great, the staff friendly but the views from the Terrace was wonderful watching the sun set I had a Hornet fly in the Bedroom just as I was going to bed ! LOL
- Helen (9/5): -
- Aimee (4/5): Will not be returning unless it has been updated - Breakfast was adequate in a very dated breakfast room Really!!! Everything a wonderful location so much potential for luxury rooms . Service from the staff was much to be desired they were all miserable. Not even a smile on on arriving.
I have lived in Shepperton for over 50 years I returned for a funeral.
I actually spent my wedding night in the Warren Lodge, Douglas. The previous owner would be mortified how his beloved hotel is now run fabulous location romantic idyllic but not anymore. I’m sorry to be so negative as it is.
- Tyurker E (7/5): -
- John (7/5): -
- Bird (6/5): Satis - Satis Dining tables greasy
- Katherine (8/5): - Great breakfast
- Amran (9/5): -
- Leela (9/5): A pleasant stay, in a historical location, close to shops and lock - The supply of milk cartons, tea and coffee was minimal.
- Robert (5/5): Where do I start? Firstly location. Church Square used to be a beautiful vibrant hub, the real place to be when I was yo - Not much Location
- Melanie (6/5): A Pleasant stay that did what we needed. - Helpfull staff
Good food
Comfy bed
Pleasant cosy room
Pleasant atmosphere generally, in a pretty location. A little refurbishment, just to tidy up paintwork.
A little more thorough cleaning of room.
Dining tables need sanding and revarnishing.
Dining chairs need reupholstering.
Veggie alternatives for breakfast would have been nice.
- Sharon (7/5): Comfortable - The location was great, close to the train station to go in to London, plenty of parking Could do with some TLC and up dating
- Ernest (10/5): Stay there often - Very clean lovely room
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Ernest (10/5): Very nice room - Often stay there.
- Jordan (10/5): -
- PAUL (6/5): -
- Kingston (10/5): - This is are getaway are happy place Everything was okay
- Helen (8/5): - Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. My room, although not very spacious, had everything I needed including a comfy bed and warm powerful shower. Refurbishment is in progress. I didn’t experience any disruption from this and I agree with the management’s decision to refurbish the guest rooms and corridors first. Whilst awaiting refurbishment, some of the ground floor corridors looked a little shabby.
- Shinto (8/5): - Privacy
- Clive (9/5): -
- Leslie (8/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was excellent
- Catharine (9/5): Very much enjoyed stay - and felt it was good value. - Very good value hotel - newly decorated and pleasant place to be, great shower, very nicely cooked breakfast. And helpful staff.
- Grégory (10/5): -
- Jamie (6/5): -
- JCB065 (6/5): Riverside venue - Great riverside location, ample parking and good breakfast. Comfortable bed, spacious warm room and quiet. But some loose fittings and dripfeed shower weren't great. Staff helpful.
- David (6/5): - Suited our purpose for a one n8ht stay. Radiator thermostatic valve was broken so the room was exceptionally hot. Toilet facilities in the bar and restaurant areas smelt badly, so some deeper cleaning and fragrance units would not go amiss. Brown sauce at breakfast was as liquid as water.
- John (6/5): one night stay poss two nights no moor - Nice staff the breakfast was good had plenty The hotel needs a good upgrade by re decorating badly back to bear walls new furniture needed through out
hotel reception needs redesigning
- Will (5/5): Awful care home - Location Tired old furniture TV broken more like a nursing home dirty staff not attentive except guy who started his shift at 3pm when I checked in besides that terrible avoid this place !
- Guest (8/5): - Everything was fine, Only thing which I did report was as I was coming through a fire door I touched edge with shoulder & a screw on fire door plate was sticking out & ripped my lacy jumper
- Robert (9/5): -
- Chantelle (10/5): Superb location.. fantastic value - Complimentary toiletries, gorgeous hot powerful shower, very comfortable bed, two pillows as standard, complimentary teas and coffee, lots of plug sockets, nice dark curtains, Peaceful , warm stay. Little bit of a wait to check in, Small room issue (swiftly corrected) , and dated decoration.
- Greg (2/5): -
- Dean (7/5): Great location.. - Very nice periodic hotel in a great location.
Super friendly staff. The rooms and decor was a bit outdated. Needs to be a little more modern. Old furniture which was weathered and old in room. Breakfast was amazing. 😁 I would stay again.
- Carol (6/5): Was ok for 1 night - Comfortable for purpose Parties going on too close to rooms
