- 410bridgetw (10/5): Views and convenience - We were welcomed by Zoe, great employee. Got our room quickly and earlier than check in time. It is a convenient place for walking on and off the ferry. It is located in the heart of the harbor. Great room and a beautiful view. We were in the harbor view on the second floor. I did read a few reviews that said get top floor because you hear the creaking of the floors above. We did hear it, but it was not horrible or anything. This hotel has a magnificent cinnamon roll pancake in their restaurant. I e definitely would stay there again. I will tell you it is a bit pricey, but runs about the same as the other area hotels. Friendly staff and nice rooms.

Little things, we asked for room service, but it wasn’t done. Although the food was delicious, it took awhile. The REC was a nice gym, but it would be nice to have a gym inside the facility included with the stay. Not deal breakers.

- Janet (10/5): Comfort Focused in NW - The staff was very welcoming and the way they handled arrival and details of our stay was respectful and very welcoming. So relaxed. The room had an outstanding view and actually had 2 comfortable chairs to sit in to enjoy the view. Most rooms only have 1 and 2nd person is forced to sit in bed. The amenities accomodated our comfort. The bed was quite stiff and I woke up on my side with a completely numb hip. After 2 nights I was ready to sleep in my own bed.

It gave us more freedom with our travel plans. The restaurant is small but the food is excellent and we had great interactions with all of the restaurant and front desk staff.

The staff are warm, attentive, and consistently delightful. Breakfast is, without exaggeration, the best in town—comforting, beautifully prepared, and served with real care. My room was spotless, deeply comfortable, and quietly luxurious, complete with a cozy fireplace and an in‑room Jacuzzi tub overlooking the water. The front desk sent me a text to let us know our room is ready, they were super easy going and friendly, easy check out and so on! We loved the fire pits outside! Our dinner at the restaurant was the best ever! They lit the fireplaces outside for us and brought us out our drinks and dessert! For breakfast we wanted the mermaid mimosas and they were out of the juice but they made a special one just for us! The attention to detail by all of the staff made this the best stay! We had some unexpected flight delays, and the team was incredibly kind and flexible in helping us move our reservation — such a relief after a long day of travel! We were visiting for our babymoon, and to our surprise, the staff upgraded our room and even made me special mocktails. It was such a thoughtful touch and truly made us feel celebrated and cared for. Those little details made the trip unforgettable — it honestly became my favorite part of our getaway. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations for a whale-watching tour and a perfect dinner spot in town. We can’t recommend Friday Harbor House enough — it was the perfect mix of comfort, hospitality, and charm. We’ll absolutely be back!

The dining experience didn’t disappoint. We are very well seasoned travelers and the Friday Harbor House is now on top of our list. Don’t walk but run to this world class hotel.

- kikiwe (8/5): Great location not meeting all our expectations - We had rooms facing the harbour, one with a little balcony, one without. The view is wonderful, the hotel centrally located. The terrace with fire pitches is really nice too. We had lunch there on our day of arrival, which was nice but nothing special. Our croatian waitress who was there for a student job, was very nice, welcoming and full of ideas what we could do on the island. She was fabulous! The rest of the staff was ok and nice but neither welcoming, nor open. As an example: Neither did someone said a warm welcome or how was your trip checking in. Checking out they simply said „You are all set“. No goodbye or have a good trip. In a hotel of that price class we expect a more professional service. The rooms were nice, with a fire place and a hot tub but facing the harbour also meant hearing the noise of the ferries arriving as the voices from the terrace if you left the window open. The airconditioning unit is very loud. Our expectations for 600 dollars a night were very high and not met as far as service is concerned. However the complimentary coffee, tea, water, popcorn, cookies and oatmeals were very much appreciated. You can eat dinner Friday to Tuesdays there. There was a large group with a tour operator in the hotel and they definitely got a better service than we did. Maybe individual guests are not in the main focus of this hotel. On our tours over and about the island we met a lot of other people from the island who were ever so friendly and helpful and inspiring so we enjoyed our time there very much!

- 41joec (10/5): Best celebration weekend! - We visited the Friday Harbor House to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday for a weekend with family. We had people coming from all over the United States. I must make take the time to recognize two of your employees. Molly was a great resource as we set up and managed all of our guest accounts and rooms. Jaymie was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly supportive, and friendly is an understatement! She went above and beyond for us so many times it would take too much space to list each instance on its own. What made her service so special was it really was heart felt and genuine. She was a primary reason my wife's birthday weekend celebration was a resounding success! Thank you!
- cacsail45 (6/5): Almost had it right - Room had an ac unit sitting on the floor ducted outside and just sat there and roared all night. We got very little sleep. Not what you would expect at 600.00 dollars a night. Which I’m still waiting for my emailed room bill two days later. The restaurant was closed for dinner the two nights we stayed and were told by staff “ they need time off also so we’re closed “ come on.
- 496elliew (8/5): Lovely hotel with very friendly staff - Lovely hotel with breath taking views, very clean and friendly staff, it was our honeymoon and we had a lovely note, bottle of wine and rose petals in our room when we arrived, We ate breakfast here twice and was fantastic and had one light dinner outside which was also lovely, Would highly recommend The only thing I wish was different, we stayed for 3 nights and our room wasn't cleaned or our towels weren't changed, I did ask on the last day and they said it was in the welcome pack ( a QR code) that they don't offer a clean room service unless requested, which I have never had before at a hotel and for the price you pay I just assumed it would be standard, I just wish I was told on check in so that I could of chosen it, I didn't read the full welcome pack online.
- Texasgirl1118 (10/5): Amazing stay at Friday Harbor House! - We stayed at Friday Harbor House from June 23rd through June 27th in Room 32. It was a Harbor view and it was absolutely stunning. The harbor view is amazing and worth the extra cost. The restaurant that is part of the hotel is amazing as well. Their breakfasts were the best we had throughout our stay. We tried different breakfast places. They also provide pour over coffee in the room which was nice since we were up early. They also had instant oatmeal in the room and a hot water electric kettle. Additional coffee station was set up at the end of the hallway at 7:30 each morning. At the end of the hallway, after coffee was put away, they had cold Pellegrino waters and snacks like popcorn and chips available for guests at no charge. Beds were comfy. Hotel is also close and walkable to all the restaurants and shops. Staff was very nice. The only thing that would have been nice to have is either a small microwave in the room or one available for guests at the end of the hallway where the snacks are set up. They come in handy when available. The other thing I would like to see the hotel add is a small recycle bin in the room for cans and plastic bottles. I'm a big recycler and it's important for all hotels to recycle so that we're not throwing so much in the trash. Great stay and shout out to Becca and all the staff. On our last day, our server at breakfast, Alex, was wonderful. She was so attentive and friendly and we had a good conversation.

- c3honey84 (10/5): This is where to stay in Friday Harbor - Beautiful hotel, walking distance to everything in Friday Harbor. Can't beat the views. Comfortable beds, plus AC and a fireplace if needed. Also, can't beat the freshly ground coffee and chemex available in the room!!

- SusanR247 (10/5): A lovely spot, handy to the ferry and town. - Just a couple of blocks from the ferry dock, this hotel was lovely. We had a “harbor view king” room on the 3rd floor, and on a beautiful April evening, it was so relaxing to just watch the ferries and incredible view of the water and mountains! One big positive: the staff were all very friendly and helpful. It felt like a small boutique hotel, which was nice. Our room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. Although I must say, I would have furnished it a bit differently. The 2 club chairs were a bit too deep to be truly comfortable without an ottoman. But they were easy to relocate to watch the tv (which was awkwardly located if you want to watch from bed, or with the chairs facing the windows as it was arranged) or to enjoy the fireplace (which we never did get to work anyway). We really missed having a small dining table and chairs, since we wanted to eat in our room while enjoying the view. And the restaurant does offer in-room dining when it is open, so this was an odd omission (it seemed there would be space for one). We brought the small metal chairs in from the deck to use as tables, and also as foot-rests to make lounging more comfortable. I also didn't love the metal cylinders that they use for bedside tables. A square table works better to keep small items from falling into the corner. And I missed having a drawer to hold chargers and such. The hotel was pretty quiet, although there was a certain amount of noise, mostly from neighboring establishments, and from the ferries themselves. It was not bad in April, but had to wonder how loud it must get on a busy night in summer, since the hotel restaurant's outdoor patio was right below our windows. And it appears several ground floor rooms were right on that level. But that also means they had easy access to the evening fire pits! We were there on a weeknights in late April, so the restaurant was not open for dinner during our visit. And the breakfast menu was a bit heavy for our tastes, so we did not try that. We would happily stay at Friday Harbor House again in the future!

- luzcM7280RD (10/5): In love with Friday Harbor House - This was our first time traveling to San Juan Island and decided to splurge and stay at one of the marina-facing rooms in the Friday Harbor House. The room was amazing, cozy, loved the fireplace and tub, and had ample room for the two of us. The hotel is centrally located and we loved being able to walk everywhere. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. This was by far one of the best hotels we’ve stayed us and it really pained us to leave. We can’t wait to be back and spend more time in this lovely island and at the Friday Harbor House!

- Colo_travler (10/5): Nice Boutique Style Hotel - We stayed in a harbor view room with a fireplace. Everything about this hotel was nice, I would call it a boutique style hotel, so it is better than a 3-star (current rating) in my opinion. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I have eaten here twice once for dinner and for breakfast. In both cases the food was excellent, and the service was good.

- iamaislandgirl (6/5): Not the 4-star establishment we had hoped for - Our room was not the quality of 4-star (sliding door would not open and TV had a white scratch across it) and although the food was good the staff at bar and in the restaurant were not friendly or competent (both our meals were wrong). The view was spectacular however from the harbor facing rooms. I will try a different establishment next time. We took advantage of 2 for 1 night stay. I would NEVER pay >$300/night to stay in that room. It was not that level of quality.

They go above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect. The restaurant's food is nothing short of spectacular, we loved all the food we ordered. We had a lovely room facing the marina and could see the ferries travel 🧭 n and out. A terrific staff. I must give a shout out to the chef, Bryce, who was accommodating to us as n many ways. I really enjoyed our stay.

- Gil (8/5): - Was in room 26 above the kitchen and restaurant... we spoke to the manager and was told this room is filled last due to the noise ... we checked in at just after 1pm hours before check in and there were many rooms empty at the time of check in so filling the room last i don't believe . We checked in the same time as our family we were staying with and they were in room 32 which is 3rd floor and away from the kitchen for The same price i don't think thats fair to charge the same . We have a 1 year old Daughter and she was kept up late due to the kitchen staff cleaning until after 10pm banging plates and blasting music. This is an overall beautiful place to stay but our room experience was not what we expected when our family paid the same and had a far better experience
