Guest Reviews
- Robbin (10/5): - Don't judge a book by it's cover. Yes the property is very old, but the staff makes up for it. Very polite and helpful.
Rooms are very clean beds are fresh and towels are fluffy clean. Place was not at all what I was expecting it was a very nice stay
- Andrew (6/5): - It's a motel only if u truck driver u can sleep that's all what cna i say
- Francisco (2/5): - Change the price
- Kathleen (10/5): - Not the ritz but from the price you should already know for the price it was great
- Cheyanne (6/5): Could have been worse. - When I got to the room the ac as off, there wasn’t any blankets on either bed and no phone to be able to call the front desk.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Trash - Booked this room. Tried damn near all day to verify it thru this trash app. The agents were useless. Then I get to the hotel and they have no power. Like why in the hell did you let me book?. I tried several times to get a good contact number. Even asked the agent to reach out.. Hotels.com is a scam. The next day I got a different motel. Not hotel.. It was all they had.. Get there. He changed the price of the room.. I thought I was a member. I ended up paying more. The only reason I stayed was because I drove over 30 minutes and my daughter was exhausted. On top of that. They had roaches..
- Brian (10/5): - Good lil spot
- itmamul (10/5): - Amazing stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): Somewhat Dissatisfied - Arrived and was told that i would have to pay more without no other explanation except for that its what the manager wanted. There were no night stands in the room and the only place to put your items is below the tv. I had to fight 2 flies off the entire stay, but other than that I got what I paid for I guess.
- Ricky (6/5): - Last minute place to stay
- San Juana (2/5): - Bed sheets very old with cigarette burns. Bathroom very small and holes in the walls. Smells like smoke.
- Jennifer (6/5): You get what you pay for... - The manager on duty at the front desk was professional, kind and attentive. That was the only good thing about this motel. I accept responsibility for picking a $56 hotel room first of all. I expected it to be older but not disgusting and with bad a/c. Mgr had to move us after trying to cool down first room for an hour in 103 degree temps. He was fast to move us, no issues. Second room cooled down faster. It was nasty. Reaked of smoke after I was told whole place was non-smoking. It also had a bad body odor, oily smell in the room. There was a wad of pubic hair and plastic shoved in the drain of the shower. I used a plastic bag to pull it out so I would not have to touch it. There was a dried booger in the sink and a drop of dried blood on the tub. The floors would turn your feet black in a few minutes. Both rooms had burn holes in the comforter. The sheets seemed clean. Towels in both rooms were stained and super worn, thin. I pulled my own towels from the car. No issues with other guests. Again, we were treated well but I did not want to lose the money I had paid. Area is good for fast food, restaurants and stores. Next time I will book for a higher costing room.
- Jessica (2/5): - Was more then unhappy i reserved a room for 1 night for the given price including tax ones at the motel to check in i was charged more! I asked why and was told because tax was not included in my payment even though i had provided the full information which also stated i had paid the tax. Then to add to the theft of money while in the room the next morning before check out house keeping just let themselves into my room. No knock on the door or anything. Again this was over an hour before check out time.
- Tami (8/5): - Vintage remodel with covered parking right by the motel room door entrance
- George (8/5): - A phone to hotel office would have been nice for a wake-up call or a radio alarm clock. No issues with anything else. Room was clean and comfortable bed and quiet area.
- Xavier (4/5): - This property should not be listed in expedia. My kids called it the Bates motel. Not worth the price. We did book the last minute before a concert in Bay town.
- Verified traveler (4/5): A bit disappointing... - The man at the front desk was very kind and helpful. He was also about the only redeeming part of the experience. The pictures weren't totally inaccurate, but they definitely made the room seem much nicer than it ended up being. Though the furniture and appliances were all cleanly, the room itself was in pretty poor condition. There was mold and rust in many places, and we found several various bugs throughout the room. The bed wasn't very comfortable, which wasn't THAT big of a deal for me, but it was incredibly noisy and creaked loudly at even the slightest movement. The door to the room didn't lock, as there was an immovable piece of plastic jammed behind the plate where the lock would go into. The fact that the door wouldn't lock prompted us to relocate to a different hotel. I'm sure this motel would have gladly moved us to a different room, but given the condition of the first room and how late it was; we didn't want to risk wasting time and potentially running into similar issues.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An older motel, but not bad for the price.
- Robert (2/5): - Never will go back
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It smelled bad and rough looking crowd. Loose dogs.
- kryan77506 (2/5): Sucked totally - We were here for over a year. Our a/c in the kitchen leaked all over the kitchen floor. Our door did not lock so we could never shut our door. Harry rents the rooms out hourly for people to screw. No respect for Long-term renters. Harry treats the long term renters horrible and he NEVER fixes anything! WE used our vehicle to do things for Harry over the year and a half we were there and he was supposed to take it off our rent for us helping him because he had nobody else to help him and he NEVER DID. No phones in the rooms, internet and cable sucked. The only man that cared about the hotel was treated like crap from Harry when he worked, he wasn't even allowed to sleep in the bed connected to the office, he had to sleep on a couch and he passed away. Harry doesn't like to take credit cards because he wants the cash. One room did not have a/c for three weeks. There is mold under the cabinets in the kitchen. The rooms run on one socket so everything was run off of extension chords. The only good thing is the maid Daisy - she is awesome but gets the run around from Harry and her helpers are awful. The washers and dryers NEVER work right. If you have to stay in La Porte, TX DO NOT STAY HERE. There are other and better hotels that you can choose from. HARRY is not a good manager and has no clue how to run a hotel - even as small as that one is.
- Y5060WYtonyc (4/5): U get what u pay for - Gave me a room with a broken toilet handle when I checked in. I told the owner and he said he would have to look for a new handle. One week later still not fixed. Had to flush toilet by sticking hand in tank every time. Sometimes you'll get two towels or one. No extra toilet paper and room was just about last room to be cleaned so I got the dirty mop water from the other rooms and u could smell it.
