- Ngoepe (8/5): - Mothers day special
Games
- Mokgaetsi (10/5): We really enjoyed, we will talk about this place to our friends - Nothing really
- Zanele (9/5): - Kids friendly environment Less breakfast variety on restaurant menu
Restaurant opening late for breakfast
- Khutso (10/5): -
- maphwanya (8/5): Otherwise the stay was good and very relaxing - Great playing area for kids. The chicken strips I ordered for my child was not fresh. The rare game drive wasn't good at all, it was difficult to see any animals
- Van Der Klashorst (10/5): -
- Mikateko Beautitudes (1/5): - I didn't check-in I arrived there at 20:17 and they didn't bored to call me to check my arrival time. When I tried to call it was voicemail.
- Thobejane (10/5): - I liked everything from the guards at the gate who made us feel welcomed to the guy at the reception to the housekeeping ladies who treated us with utmost respect. It rained so hard the night before we checked out up untimely we left the place, we got stuck a few kilometers away from the resort and we got help the resort sent out a bakkie to come and assist us. Waterberg game park will always have my heart They don't have a lot of fun activities for the kids
- Emeldah (10/5): Phenomenal 💯 - I liked everything, from the staff to environment No heater for cold weather 🙆
- Mulalo (10/5): -
- Mathebo (6/5): -
- Nolen (10/5): It was an overnight stay, we enjoyed our stay at a cosy 3 bedroom apartment with all the essentials and appliances. - The accommodation is nice including the view Network perception is not available
- Sibongile (10/5): Everything absolutely amazing except for network but would definitely come again - Terrible network
- Baloyi (3/5): - Absolutely nothing Everything, from poor network connection
- Grant (7/5): - It's a great location and a great property for young families. Lots for young kids to do.
The staff are excellent and really do a great job in matching all requests. The 6 sleeper unit needs more furniture - there is not enough seating inside the unit for 6 people to sit, only 1 x 2seater couch and 2 small chairs, no dining area inside at all. It's woefully under furnished.
We had an issue with quite a few lights not being functional.
It's a really great unit - it just needs a little bit of attention.
- Tlatlane Zebulon (8/5): Fair - Its family orientated Convenient store does not have valuable item, particularly that there there are no shops nearby.
It does not have a bathtub, did not like that
- Charitty (4/5): Hostile stay - Staff was friendly plus the sight seeing of the environment was beautiful The description of the place was not what we got, only showers were available (we wanted a bath for my wheelchair child), the description said it had a sofa bed which was not true one adult had to sleep on the couch for the whole 6 days not comfortable. The beds are too strong not comfortable at all. Majority of the things we broken(the bathroom door handle was broken, all the TV remotes were not working properly, the heater was broken and the manager promised to provide a bed for my daughter but never fulfilled the promise.
- Omphemetse (10/5): -
- Calvin (2/5): - Nothing interesting and wow. The fact that the units, are duplex and your any noise from your neighbor. Again the place should offer the following
1. Golf cart to transport it's clients from restaurant to the units
2. Privacy it is very important
3. Signal is very terrible - 0 out of 10
4. Wifi is priority
5. Not happy with the service at all.
- Masindi (8/5): Fantastic Experience - There is so much for children to do. It was fantastic the staff was all friendly it was amazing There was no internet but they did tell us why and also no one helped us figure out how to use the sleeper couch. The last day we also didnt have water which was a bit of a struggle since we couldnt shower before we left.
- Nape (1/5): - Facilities The fact that I didn't bath my entire stay until I get back home, no water in the toilets😡 no body cared.
- VP (9/5): -
- Mohlake (10/5): -
- Lehlogonolo (10/5): We had a great time as a family, we also enjoyed hiking 💓 - It is very beautiful and very calming
Perfect for family, perfect for romantic getaway since there is no network will be a perfect time to bond💓 The showers are not having doors so that makes it to be messy after showering
- Reneilwe (10/5): - My room Fascilities, the gravel road was bad.No network and wifi. The place looks different from the website
- Hlongwane (10/5): So far we had a lot of fun it is a beautiful place🙌👌👌👌👌 - It is a beautiful place and it is child friendly The gravel road is too long an tiring and also the network is a problem🙆♀️
- Mangakane (8/5): - The facilities, such as the pools and playground, were great—especially the heated pool.
The rooms were good and clean. The shower was great! The sheets were clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed the rare game drive experience with Shanra! The network was bad, especially in our rooms. We couldn't make any calls or even browse the internet
The food options at the restaurants are limited. However, there are numerous drink options.
The food took an hour to be prepared.
The restaurants were short stuffed.
- Bongane Mahlaule (10/5): Weekend with colleagues - The location and facility There's no wifi
- Tlhologelo (10/5): -
- Joao (1/5): False advertisement and disappointment - Nothing Not as advertised, rooms are very far away from activities. Pools are really too small, there is no network nor WiFi in your rooms. There are monkeys that enter rooms so you cannot chill outside on the Terrance/patio but best you stay locked in your room. At night while sleeping the monkeys 🐒 are celebrating on your roof top. There's not much for the children to do, by 2pm they will be bored and tired from squeezing in those small pools. Really what was advertised is truly not what we experienced.
- Nhleko (5/5): It was a great relaxing stay, great facilities and activities. Slight improvement required in terms of the WiFi and the - The location, nature and facilities were great. It created a nice escape from the city. The game drive was also a good experience, with the tour guide making the drive friendly, funny and fun. There was no network and also no WiFi at the property. I probably would not have booked had I known I’d be disconnected to the outside world. Also the service at the restaurant was too slow and not on one occasion.
- Dineo (7/5): -
- Sifiso (8/5): - Pools, arcade and playground for the kids. Bar for the big kids. The cellphone reception is terrible!!! Additionally, there is no WIFI. not only does it make communication to the outside world difficult, it is a safety risk should an incident occur in or near your room. this is something they must urgently address.
- Lauren O (7/5): - Chalet was clean, modern and spacious. Food at the restaurant was very good. Booked 2 chalets but they were allocated far apart from each other. One chalet which was for 8 people only had one couch and no inside dining table and chairs.
- Lauren O (7/5): -
- Matlading (10/5): -
- Tsholofelo (10/5): A tranquil home away from home that I would do again. - The staff was exceptional. The accommodation as promised. The grounds were clean; inviting and what a break from Gauteng required. Truly wonderful property.
(I understand that it is recovering from flooding and some areas showed it - but it was not an inconvenience).
Surprisingly I enjoyed the lack of wi-fi. There were some guests playing music at the pool - really unwanted - I wish the staff would have stopped it. Not all of us go on vacation to be subjected to blaring music at the pool. We could hear it all the way from the multi-courts)
- Amukelani Signette (6/5): It was good, we will be coming back soon. - Had breakfast in our flatlet N/A
- Yolan (6/5): - The facilities were great. The chalet was clean and very comfortable. The staff weren't welcoming. I did not book my 3yr old but since it was the 3 bed, six sleeper i didn't think it was an issue. So when we got there, we were told we were over crowding and needed to pay a surcharge fee of R550 for my child. The signal was so bad we could swipe and was told we could pay when we were checking out. Now the very next day the manager comes to the chalet with a card machine and states the charge is now R550 per day and total was R1100 for two days. So again attempted to pay card machine didn't work. Anyway long story short on checkout I ad paid the surcharge but could receive an invoice as the lady wasn't there and they promised to email me the invoice. Its been a week and still didnt get my invoice for payment. So although I enjoyed the resort but I won't be going back there again. Oh the element in geyser didnt work in the middle of night and needed to replaced. So had to shower at 2am.
- Reaobaka (4/5): - Braai facility Cleanliness
Omission of the fact that the pool area was under renovations
- sibanyoni (8/5): - The rooms are spacious The pools are too small and don't cater for many people
- Albertus (6/5): Beautiful secluded bushveld breakaway - The surrounding bushveld beauty. The size of the resort, not crowded. Upgrades due to the floods lacking urgency. The roads on the farm are in a terrible state when game driving. Can definitely be better maintained by the property itself.
- Heirness (8/5): Lovely Experience - We had such a lovely stay with my family, wished we could extend and stay another day. We were just disappointed that the pool section wasn't functional, my son was heartbroken because that was the one thing he wanted to do. It's not a vacation for him if there's no swimming 😂. We definitely plan to come back again, hopefully the pools will be functional again.
Loved the location and how serene and peaceful it was. It was really a lovely experience. The apartment was so cute and had everything we needed. We didn't even need to bring anything for the kitchen. So comfortable and clean. The games were a nice touch too. Good food served at your restaurant. It was truly lovely. See you next time.
- David (8/5): Always pleasant - Quiet weekend away venue, restaurant and bar on-site perfect if you don't want to do too much self-catering. Only bind was that there was no water on the Monday morning we left, so no shower before heading off to work.
- Princess (1/5): My stay was bad since I had no signal to call home and let them know I am safe - Property is situated in a quite space There is no signal at all,no WiFi ,there is water everywhere even on thr activities where we are supporting to enjoy them, the road it’s extremely bad
- Constance (8/5): It was a lovely stay but the road and network issues got me frustrated - The house and the bedrooms Everything about the property was beautiful but the road to the place was not good
- John (9/5): Great family stop - Accommodation was perfect Restaurant could have been a little better f
- Nobela (5/5): -
- Hlamas (5/5): Good and friendly staff, disappointing facilitators, and the sad part is that I will now watch out for thieves in this - The location was good, parking was fair and professionally marked to enable visitors peace of mind parking. We liked - privacy, nature reserve theme. Peace and quiet. Very friendly staff. It was highly dissapointing to find that the place does not have connectivity, even though the website and books in the rooms suggest there is wifi. We visited the reception to request for wifi password as directed, but was told the old service provider not available the team is waiting for a new service provider. It would have been appreciated if this information was shared while we made our booking because I ended up missing very important work calls.
The pool that was advertised as blue, was empty, the put put grounds were filled with water (not as adverse) and the trampoline was removed off the grounds (again not as advertised).
It was dissapointing that everything that drew us to proceed with this booking was not available. Lastly, our R2500.00 spotlight on the bakkie was cut lose on Tuesday when we arrived but we thought it was along the way and got cable ties to reposition it. Friday morning, we woke up to the spotlight completely removed and stolen, Meaning this is someone that knew we are checking out on Friday. This dampened our experience even further
- Shareen (8/5): Very good -
- Tshego (10/5): 1 night stay - Accommodation ✅
Staff ✅ Road leading to the property 😭
- Thabo (7/5): Good -
- Abigail (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (2/5): Very bad experience - Very friendly staff. Also the beds were very good. The place was completely flooded due to the bad weather. The gravel road to reach the Waterberg Game Park was one long mudslide and dangerous. We damaged our car. The warning message via the management came AFTER the check in time. So much too late. We couldn't use most of the facilities such as the big swimmingpool and our villa's plunge pool. They had to pump it out because of all the mud. Also no putt golf and the kids play area was not accessible. The walking trails were not accessible Also no electricity from 10pm to 6am. And no game drives possible. We reached out to Waterberg Management on the advice of the reception but we got no respons. We asked for an alternative for this lodge or a credit invoice but got nothing. We had to stay one night because we didn't want to drive the road back in the dark. We are still waiting for a decent respons of Waterberg because this is not the right way to treat your customers. So a definate no go for us.
- Craig (10/5): Comfortable. Spacious. Friendly. Accommodating. We will be back. - We loved our stay from beginning to end. We will be back. So peaceful. Staff friendly and accommodating. Accommodation was top notch and comfortable. Seeing the stars at night was one of our highlights. Thank you. The road in was a little bumpy, but that was beyond control of Waterberg. We loved every minute.
- Lulama (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Odette (8/5): Had a lovely family break - The units were very comfortable, the surroundings stunning and tranquil. the floods damaged alot of the facilities so for the kids it was not Soo good. The restaurant could have more options and more specials when they understaffed and not so busy. I feel there could have been some good food specials and the kayaking could have been for free as there were very few facilities working.
- Emmanuel (5/5): Damaged road almost ruined our holiday - The friendly and helpful restaurant staff.
The luxury chalet was stunning. The amenities in the chalet were top notch. The scenery in the resort is spectacular. The restaurant and bar setup is quite charming. I enjoyed watching the Madrid tennis open on their moerse big TV outside the bar. While watching my children having fun in the kids play area and games room. Lack of proper communication by the establishment.
The main road to the establishment was washed out. They could have sent a WhatsApp or email a day before check in. Advising of the road closure. And giving details of the detour.
Our check in was the 26th of April 2025. When we found a barricade at the road closure. We tried calling Charlene le Grange on her cellphone, sadly her phone was off. We tried calling their landline. But, it took us to their automated vr, and went unanswered. It was getting dark, and there was no way of getting hold of the establishment on the phone. Fortunately, my son found another resort next to Waterberg Lodge called Waterbok Lodge. A lady by the name of Karina at Waterbok Lodge was our saviour. She gave us detour directions via WhatsApp. And sent us voice notes explaining the directions to us. Had it not been for her. We would have turned back.
Thank you Karina of Waterbok Lodge. You were awesome.
The chalet itself was stunning. It exceeded our expectations.
The restaurant staff gave excellent customer experience. They were very friendly and so helpful. Their manager Mzwandile and his team made us almost forget the woes that the reception team subjected us to.
Also, when you do the booking on the Booking.com site. The establishment does not advise that most of their attractions are not available. You only see this information was the money is paid and the booking confirmation is sent. I only remember two disclaimers that I had to acknowledge before I could proceed with finalizing the booking. It was no loud music and no pets allowed. They should have added some of our activities are not available. The putt putt, tennis court, swimming pool etc. Were out of order. This titbit of information was under more information on the booking. Com reservation confirmation email. This is basically after monies have been paid.
The email message from the establishment did not mention anything about the damaged road.
- Nkomo (3/5): Poor - The bushes... besides nothing was good! The service, the road, the facilities, the activities almost everything was bad! Everything!
- Rego (6/5): Stay was amazing kids had a blast- hopefully damages to the lodge and the road will be fixed asap - Breakfast was overpriced I ddnt like that most let facilities were not operating due to damage from
Floods and it was not put on the website
- Zodwa (7/5): Good - Scenery Service
- Lufuno (8/5): The stay was very good - Quiet and clean Monkeys
- Irmi-mari (9/5): Family fun in the bush - There is alot to do with the kids. Every day had planned activities. We had fun. The onsite shop is sparsely stocked. A wider variety at affordable prices would have been cool.
- Kotzee (8/5): Really fun short break for family - Really fun time with the kids, swimming, tennis, puttputt hiking etc! Facilities well maintained No braai tongs to braai- even after requesting. Had to braai with my hands.
Still waiting for discount on game drive- not treated well by particular reception staff member.
- Sam (7/5): Good - Apartments where clean Network challenges, they should see what can they do to improve on that .
- Izelle (5/5): Not worth the money - Very good coffee No up-keep and maintenance of infra-structure
Very bad roads
Water slide poor
Linen and Towels in bad condition
Restaurant almost nothing available on the menu
- Ndivhuwo (9/5): It’s a great property with so much to do for both adults and kinds. Wish we booked more days - There’s so much to do in the resort Nothing
- Unarine (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great, we really had a great time as a family and fully enjoyed the game drive, food from the restaurant was great and the room were proper including the bathroom Nothing except the parking was a bit further from the chalet
- Mamogale (8/5): Activities are suitable for every age group - Spacious and very clean Over crowded thatch roof. Asthmatic
- Celeste (7/5): Good -
- Ndaba (6/5): It was a great mid week stay. The kids enjoyed it. - Facilities are good. The food was tasty. Staff is friendly. Starlink internet was great. I think the gardens are left to rain. If they invested a lot in watering the lawns am sure the green will make it s place to die for. Waiting for rain isn’t enough.
- Musa (9/5): Superb - The Games really kept our little one busy chech out time should be 11am
- Kgonyane (9/5): Superb -
- Fikile (4/5): Disappointing - Game drive. Though the guide made us feel so uncomfortable with Leopard story being on the loose and seeing huge snake tracks, we weren't comfortable to continue with the drive. But the information shared was insightful. Lack of internet. Nightmare! Employees kept lying to us. Imagine not being able to communicate with your loved ones for over a week. We only had connection for only one day, and then the rest of the week, it was off. WiFi is only limited to the number of adults that have booked. If you have an extra phone or laptop, forget it. You won't connect.
Swimming pool very small. There are no enough chairs. Facilities are great for the kids, but I won't recommend the place to anyone who has anxiety with living without the internet and the place didn't feel safe at all. Warthog were just roaming around without supervision.
The place it's not for adults, its very boring. But for kids, great. If you want to entertain your kids while you sit around doing nothing without the internet, then it's the place for you.
- Louis (9/5): Superb -
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mathaha (8/5): Very good -
- Tshidi (8/5): Good - The environment was amazing, refreshing and relaxing. The host was kind and helpful, and the food was great, except the eggs were greasy and burnt at breakfast.overnight it was a great experience and i will return soon It would have been nice to find the pool clean upon check in.The shower drain was clogged .
- Tetelo (10/5): It’s was worth every penny, definitely enjoyed our stay - The place is just beautiful and the chalets were so clean and comfortable. The restaurants was serving good food and cocktails . The pool was the only thing that I wasn’t too happy about because it was mainly for kids so as an adult you can’t really take a swim in it. Perfect place for kids, because there are so many activities that could keep them entertained. The game drive was good, we saw all the animals The pool was more for kids, and as adults we couldn’t go on a swim because of that. It will be nice if there was a pool for kids and adults too. And the area it is, just makes it hard for an adult to walk around in swimwear infront of the kids and guest passing along the way going to the restaurants or the playgrounds
- Marna (10/5): Exceptional - It was everything we needed for a relaxing mid week getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene atmosphere and peaceful surroundings.
All staff were very friendly and the resort is beautifully maintained.
We tried most of the activities the resort offers (both hiking trails, swimming, rowing, and the multi court) and enjoyed all of them.
On the next visit, I definitely want to go for the game drive.
The calming environment allowed us to relax and recharge.
We can't wait to return. Nothing
- Graham (8/5): Very good - Good facilities and Chalet was great and well equipped (Although dish soap to wash plates would have been ideal). The beds were very firm.
- Ndimphiwe (9/5): Superb -
- Khensani (8/5): Very good - The area is quiet just what we needed to relax and gather your thoughts and get away from the everyday city lifestyle. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned on our arrival, the pool side does not have enough chairs and don't have cushions especially the relaxing chairs.
- Rebaone (7/5): The stay was ok, couldn’t do much as it was cold. There are quite a number of monkeys everywhere. Very little sitting sp - The chalet was clean and comfortable. Nice play area Poor service at the restaurant. Ordered pizza and it was not edible, could not even take a bite from it. It is remote with not network, no wifi was provided. The chalet could so with landlines incase of emergency.
- Cynthia (1/5): Bad - Nothing at all when we got to the hotel everyone in the reception were so confused gave us key then we were so excited to go to our room then within 3 minutes they came to took the key telling us it’s a wrong room busy asking us where did we book with and also busy coming to us one by one telling us how confusing is my booking I was angry cause my family thought we were at a wrong hostel or we didn’t pay Yey looked at me in a very disappointed eyes to a point that I was telling the reception to cancel my booking we went on and on talking non stop busy promising us a free breakfast for the morning try to apologise to us my family felt they underestimate us like we are nothing they put us ryt on back of the yard nothing was exciting I feel like we deserve a free holiday after this whole situation I’m so disappointed
- Jasiel (9/5): Superb -
- Lebohang (6/5): Weekend of surprises - The facility was ok.
The game drive loved it.
The pool area was nice and clean. Wasn't happy with the wifi not being solved.
The beds were hard.
The room wasn't that clean.
The restaurant breakfast
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): Super weekend ... the on-site restaurant is great if you don't want to self-cater. - The whole facility is very neat. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (5/5): Passable -
- Thopetsi (10/5): Excellent - Professionally packaged The gravel road to the park
- Guybon (7/5): Good -
- Felicia (5/5): Great for family - There are plenty family friendly activities onsite There is not much supervision or guidance when canoeing. We found that monkeys had invaded our chalet even though we had closed and locked all windows and doors… housekeeping people claimed to have found the monkeys in our chalet 🤔
- Ntene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mathabo (8/5): A wonderful place to relax with family. - The chalet was well equipped with all necessities and very spacious. The extra blankets and bedding was wonderful.
The Rare Game drive was also a great experience. The kids enjoyed it a lot. The kids play area is the best. Lots to do. Having no access to cellphone network was distressing at times.
- Leon (8/5): Very good -
- Josephine (8/5): Tranquility - The place is clean and very relaxing! The children enjoyed the activities. Pls give directions from plk side also. We had to navigate and used the 60km gravel road which is not nice on a small car. It was a stress on that loooooong road we nearly gave up our trip coz we did not seem to be Arriving to our destination after 1hour on the gravel road.
It would be nice to have assistance at the canoeing.
Some nets on the windows wil assist in prohibiting the monkeys to get in the house. We can't alway close the windows we need fresh air too.
Monkeys broke the cups and we had to pay.
- Maite (10/5): 95% happy - There's no wifi in the rooms
