Katie (10/5): We would stay here again and would recommend it to others! - The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They helped us book tours, told us about plants and animals on the property, and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
Mireille Monique (10/5): Great people, location, amenities, food - The Mariposa Jungle Lodge was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and always available. We stayed in the Deluxe Bungalow with Garden View - it was spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of amenities. The pool area was lovely, with places to relax and beautiful gardens - and the pool was very clean and well-kept. We followed the advice of staff and went hiking on their jungle trails - lovely flora and fauna - we were provided a radio to contact staff if needed. We also enjoyed dinner and drinks at the lodge’s intimate restaurant - the service and food were fabulous. The location is great - we explored the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve and Barton’s Cave. We had a lovely visit - thank you / gracias!

Phil (9/5): Beautiful, relaxing, wonderful stay - Well developed facilities nicely integrated in the jungle surrounding. Appreciated the paved roads to the resort. A little farther from the town and tourist attractions than we wanted
Annette (8/5): Overall a pleasant stay - Nice setting, clean and comfortable room. Liked seeing the wildlife and walking the trails. In addition to the pool there's also table tennis, a football table and other games you can play which is a nice touch. There was no tea or coffee in the room. Instead coffee was changed at an excessive rate. The same applies to the resturant: I always expect to pay over the odds in a place like this but this really was excessive! The final thing I thought was harsh is the 10 am check out time especially at low season.

We zaten in het laagseizoen dus hadden bijna alles voor onszelf. Het is prijzig. We hadden graag iets meer variatie/mogelijkheden gehad voor eten. De menukaart bood geen goedkope opties en je heb nauwelijks andere mogelijkheden in de buurt wanneer je geen auto hebt.

Toni (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Mariposa, the tone was set the moment we arrived. We checked in late and I went to go run in to give our information, our server Robby insured that he needed to greet us properly and asked all our guests to come in for a welcome drink which we thoroughly enjoyed, the kitchen was also waiting on to offer us dinner before they went home for the evening. We stayed in blue morpho which was close to the pool and bar. There was accessible parking. Staff was accompanying to all our needs whether it was supplying us with a cooler or packing us breakfast to go for our excursion. Please keep in mind you are in the JUNGLE, there are bugs, they are hard to avoid and they will be in your room no matter how nice. Please watch for ticks, two members of our party got ticks from the hammock. There is jungle noise all night, yelling weasels, curious monkeys. Enjoy these rare moments you may never get to witness again. The property had more amenities we weren’t able to take advantage of such as the bird tower but I recommend you do if time allows. Property is very close to mountain pine ridge park. San Ignacio town is approximately 20 minutes away so I recommend a car if you plan on visiting town. My only complaint is that 2/4 days we noticed housekeeping left our door unlocked after leaving.

Great location and setting. Nice room Food and drink were very overpriced. A local beer cost 3 times what it did in most other restaurants and 50% more than even more upscale resorts nearby. Food was tasty, but simply overpriced, perhaps taking advantage of the “captive audience”

No coffee maker or microwave in the room. Horribly overpriced breakfast ($90 usd! 2 adults and 2 kids— much more than we paid elsewhere in Belize- food was fine but not worth that much.) no free coffee in lobby. location was just ok -30 min from San Ignacio. We were delayed by a day due to a child’s illness and the property wasn’t at all accommodating.

The bartender made the stay very welcoming and crafted up cocktails for us. Fire alarm had battery issues one night but we were able to get someone there to fix quickly.

Suzette (10/5): It’s definitely a hidden gem. - This property was nestled in the mountain Pine Ridge area, very accessible to tourist attractions, and what I liked about it was that it was an ecological lodge. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I have nothing negative to say.
Michelle (10/5): - Excellent stay here. The seclusion in the forest is a major plus. Best mixed drinks I had during my whole stay in Belize, including on Ambergris Caye. Food was excellent and home cooked. When looking back on this trip, I'll remember our great time here. Was very relaxing and felt authentic. Pool was smaller but nice. Staff is small, and very courteous and attentive. Rooms and the restaurant was very clean.. also a small gift shop on site was nice. The bungalos were very neat with a nice fans and air conditioning. Choosing this lodge was the best decision I made on our trip.

Simone (10/5): - Mariposa Jungle Lodge is such an incredible place! Its located near towns and San Ignacio, along with the Pine Reserve. It was a great location to explore the Cayo area from. The staff were very kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Robelvi gave us great recommendations and helped us plan some really fun adventures to a butterfly sanctuary and local swimming spots and waterfalls. The dining option was fantastic - excellent food and services. They made everything really special and the attention to detail was really great. Super clean with everything we needed. The pool was a fun place to relax and we enjoyed the hiking trails and bird watching tower. After being at the beach for several days, I wasn't sure what to think about making a change - but I'm so thankful we visited Cayo and stayed at Mariposa. It was the prefect combination of adventure and relaxing. My kids absolutely loved it!
Verified traveler (10/5): Family of six loved it! - Mariposa Jungle Lodge was a wonderful place to stay and base for adventuring in and around San Ignacio. Blue Morpho Lodge was perfect for our family of six. Two bedrooms, a small but very functional kitchen (two burner counter stove, toaster oven, toaster, mini fridge and basic dish ware), and patio. Easy to get in to San Ignacio, to bidet for day tripping in Guatamala, and easy ride to beautiful outdoor sites like Rio on Pools.
Joel (10/5): - The property is an awesome setting in the jungle with nice hiking trails and pool. The staff was excellent and they went out of their way to help when my wife got injured off site. It is close to many sites of interest in the pine ridge area but not too far from town.
Whitney (9/5): Fabulous jungle setting, would recommend - Exquisite, lush setting! Excellent food (we opted for a la carte but you can also get a 3-meal/day plan). Staff was extremely helpful in setting up great tours for us to enjoy the area. This property is fairly secluded so the only real food option is on site. We loved the food though so wasn't a problem for our stay.

Meghan (10/5): - This was unexpectedly delightful. We loved the quiet oasis of the jungle and the beauty of the surrounding grounds. We felt well taken care of at the small eco-resort with friendly staff. Rooms were clean and had plenty of space, kids enjoyed the space, and meals were easy with their breakfast and dinner meal plan. We were sad to leave and hope to return!
DAVID (10/5): - Mariposa was perfect for our trip to Belize. The staff was terrific! Everyone was super friendly. While cell phone reception was spotty, the property does have very good Internet service. It was also nice that laundry service was provided at extra cost. The Mariposa Jungle Lodge is also ECO conscious. We signed up for the breakfast and dinner plan (or you can order off a menu). Plenty of "home cooked" food and everyday something different. The bar offered beers, wines, and mixed drinks. Loved the "Belizian Tea". We wanted to focus on the western side of the country and see the Maya archaeological sites. The Mariposa Jungle Lodge property was perfectly situated. While we were able to get around in a 2WD SUV, a 4WD is recommended when you get off of the main roads.

Corenne (10/5): Adventures during the day and comfort at night - Amazing jungle experience Jan 2024. Spotless cottages were constructed by local artisans. Every meal was delicious, planned with our food preferences per advance email. Our excursion to Caracol was unforgettable as our guide, of Mayan heritage, shared more than academic information. Paul (10/5): A must visit..No 1 Jungle Resort - A true gem, within the rough.. true natural jungle experience with first class facilities, food and staff.. I have no complaints.. and I will return even if just for a relaxing day around the pool and some 5 star food. My special mention to Norma the chef, Rob the bartender and Glad GM. Well done folks.. Pablo the Canadian Gringo!!! I have Nada, nothing, ziltch.. to say bad, and that's unusuall for me... I'm known to be outspoken in offering my opinion for improvement..

Rebecca (9/5): FABULOUS!!!! - I loved the location, it was very remote, and quite which is what I wanted. The staff was amazing, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the property and the offerings. I would love to plan a yoga retreat there. The room was awesome, the pool was small, but not overly chlorinated so it didn't irritate my eyes. I really got to relax. The property was just beautifully laid out. We even did a medicinal tour of the property with Josh who was wonderful and so knowledgeable. And our Tour guide for Caracol was so amazing!
Hilary (10/5): Jungle Oasis With The Best Staff! - Mariposa and it’s staff were absolutely fabulous. They were accommodating and attentive, making it a great place for both couples and families. The food was fabulous and they accommodated all dietary restrictions. The jungle location was a great spot for bird watching and accessing the surrounding wilderness.

We spent the mornings on our deck bird-watching (parrots, toucans, macaws). The pool was small and refreshing. Drinks were delicious (we did not eat on site, but the food smelled great). Hospitality and customer service was outstanding.

John (8/5): - This place was wonderful and would recommend it! We stayed for one night only, wish we had had more time there. We were welcomed by a friendly face, with a refreshing drink waiting for us. Got a quick tour before showing us to our room. It was a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. One thing I was quite disappointed about, was that they did not have a play pen or crib available for my baby. So that meant a sleepless night for us (we are not used to having baby in the bed) Also the pool was quite dirty (leaves and junk floating on top) so we did not use the pool as we had hoped. Otherwise, everything was great!

The staff were all friendly and seemed to really care about making our experience the best it could be. I appreciated that we could have all our meals right on the property and we could book all our tours through them. I would highly recommend. The breakfasts were delicious and the dinners were always pretty, but weren’t mind blowing taste wise. Belize has amazing food and I didn’t think the dinners quite represented that. I would still stay again though.
