From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and right at home. The room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared, with lovely views and all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay. The quiet surroundings made it easy to unwind and fully enjoy the beauty of the area. Each morning, the breakfast was delicious and clearly prepared with care such a perfect way to start the day before exploring Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. What truly sets Grafton Lodge apart is the hospitality. The hosts were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, offering great recommendations while still allowing us plenty of privacy. It felt like the perfect balance of personal and peaceful. This was an ideal location for a romantic getaway close to everything, yet tucked away enough to feel serene and private. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Grafton Lodge to anyone looking for a charming, comfortable, and memorable stay in Lake Lure. That I had to leave. 😔

Ken (10/5): Wonderful stay with amazing hosts, delicious local breakfasts,comfortable room, and a resilient town - I had a wonderful stay at The Grafton Lodge in Lake Lure. Kim and Rich were amazing hosts—warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout my visit. Rich’s breakfasts were outstanding, especially with his use of locally sourced ingredients that really highlighted the flavor and character of the area. My room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable, with a bed that made it easy to rest up before starting my North Carolina Mountains to Coast cycling ride the next day. The location couldn’t have been better, offering both tranquility and easy access to the best of Lake Lure. It was also inspiring to see how much the town has rebuilt since Hurricane Helene last year. Even with the lake currently drained for reconstruction following the storm damage, the area remains beautiful and full of life. I was truly impressed by the number of local restaurants and shops that have reopened and are thriving again—the community’s resilience and spirit really shine through. Overall, The Grafton Lodge is a perfect place to stay—comfortable, personal, and deeply connected to the local community. I’d absolutely return. The only downside was that I couldn’t stay longer. I really wish I had more time to enjoy the area and the lodge, but I’ll definitely plan to stay longer on my next trip here next year.

SUZANNE S. (10/5): Charming Renovated Lodge in Lake Lure - This lodge is so comfortable, clean and renovated. The owners have provided everything that other hotels do not such as wine glasses and corkscrew, full length mirror and magnified mirror, overhead shower that’s also a jet spray, small refrigerator, and access to kitchen with homemade cookies, tea, coffee and candy. The grounds are charming with lots of spices for just relaxing. Our bed was very comfortable and room renovated and very clean.

They are so genuine and they communicated better than just about better than - It was casual, but well kept and the room was very clean and inviting. There are a few areas that maybe need paint or touch ups, but considering the Sept 2024 Hurricane Helene damage this community dealt with... it's good!

Michael (10/5): - The Grafton Lodge, and particularly suite #6, exceeded our expectations. The property was well maintained and manicured, and our suite was unbelievable. It was beautiful, well furnished and decorated, and very clean. But most important, the King bed was very comfortable...we slept like babies.

Aaron (10/5): Honey moon at a classy place - So Cozy! Bed is very comfortable and the place itself was very homey and cute. The breakfast served is top notch and made by a very talented chef. Super quiet setting and minutes to the lake ... walking. Not the hosts fault but the lake was drained to fix the bottom from hurricane Helene so we couldn't fish....anywhere.

A drop leaf table in the room provided adequate space for when we wanted to eat in the room. The bathroom was clean and updated. The room we booked was described as excellent and the interior was except the air conditioning unit which was installed under the sink and vanity. It was hard to get the room to a comfortable temperature and the room felt damp from humidity at times. The front door faced a driveway and brick wall. The driveway had deep ruts which was hard on our car to drive over. The gazebo in back of the property had nice seating and lots of games were provided but the seats were dirty and had dog hair on them,
Shelton (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic daily breakfast by Chef Richard. Local farm ingredients used in his professional culinary presentation. The private balcony and luxurious, comfortable linens on our bed. Fresh baked cookies every day. Very attentive to any of our accommodation needs. There wasn't anything I could say that I didn't like.
Randall (10/5): Great Place with Exceptional Hosts and Breakfasts! - Rich and Kim were great hosts and really went out of their way to point out all the great places to explore, restaurants to try and areas to visit. All of their recommendations were spot on. The cottage we rented was very spacious and the breakfasts were amazing! Rich is quite the chef and made something special every morning. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area. We can’t recommend Grafton Lodge and Rich and Kim highly enough! Nothing. Perfect!

Lawrence (9/5): We enjoyed our stay! The room was nice! - The room was very clean and bathroom was spacious. Comfy beds and free wifi were nice. We heard the breakfast was exceptional but we didn't have the opportunity to try it. when you initially pull into the property there is a sign that says stop here and check in. So I went to the front door thinking the door code was for that door and I would check in with someone inside. We found this part confusing...there was no one else on the property and we only figured it out when other people staying there came and explained it to us. They said they had the same problem the day before!

Breakfast was included and it was incredible, they have a chef that comes in and cooks breakfast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, as well as home-made cookies and snacks are available at no charge pretty much any time. They have games available and outdoor areas complete with fireplace. The Grafton Lodge really was the highlight of my trip. There really wasn't anything I didn't like.
