Guest Reviews
- Pamela (10/5): - The room was very comfortable, a large bathroom, shower had great water pressure. Breakfast is very good, made to order. Altogether a lovely stay.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - A lovely house, in a perfect location and with wonderful friendly staff.
- Kevin (10/5): The place to stay in Dingle - Great hotel with lots of character in Dingle. Beautiful grounds, convenient location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and an amazing breakfast in the lovely dining room (included with the room). A short distance from the touristy areas of Dingle but close enough to easily walk to pubs and restaurants. On-site parking. Highly recommend!
- Robert (10/5): - Lovely hotel with huge rooms and very good breakfast. Well located for exploring Dingle
- Thomas (10/5): - Excellent in every aspect
- Peter (10/5): - Can not recommend Emlagh House highly enough. The room was stunning and the staff were so helpful. Mark gave us amazing information for our stay. The included breakfast as as good as you would expect from any fine establishment. A must stay
- James (10/5): 40th Anniversary - Beautiful property and great location. Staff was wonderful& helpful.
- Porter (10/5): Perfect Dingle Bed & Breakfast - From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by Emlagh House. Easy parking and check-in, friendly host, Mary, to greet us, lovely room with large windows with beautiful ocean views, two sinks in bathroom, high ceilings, comfortable beds, delicious full breakfast…and perfect location…walking distance to town but far enough to be quiet. We absolutely loved our stay
- Brian (10/5): Good B&B style accomodations - Quiet B&B type establishment right on the edge of the central Dingle town. Great sized room and breakfast was also good. Walking distance to all of Dingle town tourist section.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely stay, comfortable, quiet, fine breakfast and made very welcome - thankyou!
- Margaret (10/5): - Susan and staff were very professional and friendly. Hotel was very welcoming and very comfortable
- Deborah (6/5): - This moldering relic of a once luxurious guest house is shabby and in need of repair. The room has a smell to it- decay?mildew? the dust of a thousand travelers?
The furniture is worn (watch out for the staples!) and the
beds are old, hard, sagging, and a bit uncomfortable.
The “luxurious king bed” turns out to be 2 twin beds shoved together.
The windows are falling apart so that opening and closing them causes parts of them to come loose and block other parts.
The bathtub leaks.
There is mildew/mold in a few spots on the ceiling.
On the other hand, the location is perfect - it is extremely quiet and is just a short walk from all of Dingle.
The room and bathroom are very large, freshly painted, and freshly carpeted.
The shower’s water pressure is so strong that it seems to be from another era, and the temperature is easy to adjust - perhaps the easiest in all of Ireland!
The waffles for breakfast are delicious, and the fruit, fresh cream, and bacon are wonderful.
The toffee candies are good and plentiful.
The service, though not warm and friendly, is professional.
If you do choose to book this place and they have trouble finding your reservation, try having them look under your first name.
- Dean (10/5): - The location, cleanliness, and staff were great. The only issue was the mattress was very soft.
- Matt (10/5): Great stay! - Absolute pleasure staying here. Great rooms, great service, and the location is very close to all the pubs!
- Jana (10/5): - We stayed here when we eloped and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and gracious. The rooms are large and it’s a quick 10 minute walk to everything in Dingle. Highly recommend!
- Lisa (10/5): - The Emlagh House was beautiful! Susan checked us in and was a delight. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient and breakfast was delicious! I would recommend staying at the Emlagh House when visiting Dingle.

- Ana (10/5): - Beautiful place!
- edhL6961CL (10/5): You won’t find a nicer B&B in Dingle. - Emlagh Lodge is a wonderful choice when staying in Dingle. It is located on the bay (amazing view) in a very private setting, but it’s only a 5 minute walk to town. Maggie is a very attentive host and awesome cook. Her breakfast offerings are fabulous! The Lodge is squeaky clean and provides a luxurious feel.
- Edward (10/5): - Couldn’t be more helpful and friendly- only place to stay in Dingle!
- Allan (10/5): - Room was huge, clean, airy, nice view. Only drawback was the very hugh
- Mikael (10/5): - Modern but in a traditional style. Room was well sized with a fantastic bay window overlooking the town.
- Christie (10/5): - We regrettably were only able to stay one night. Lovely place to stay, the staff were so kind.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Lovely spot - a short walk from Dingle.
Delightful large room. Beautifully decorated and super clean. Breakfast was very lovely with great choices.
- Anthony (10/5): - Great room. Great building. Great breakfast. We loved the tea room and conservatory.
- derm_tm2024 (10/5): A very memorable sojourn. - Fabulous house just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Each morning we received great breakfasts with an excellent choice and best of all were Mary and Peg who are wonderful people. Always cheerful, obliging and were the secret ingredient in making our week in Dingle very memorable. Thanks again ladies 💚
- John (10/5): - Staff was extremely helpful and the stay was excellent. If you are going to be staying in Dingle, I highly recommend this hotel.
- Peter (10/5): - Great views, spacious rooms and breakfast. I really liked the "relaxation" area also with tea and cakes.
- Tom (10/5): - Everything a Bed and Breakfast should be...Well done!
- Donald (10/5): - Beautiful property. Very comfortable
- Susan (10/5): - The house was magnificently appointed with beautiful antiques. The rooms were large and comfortable. Lovely hot shower in the huge bathroom. Parking out front very accessible. Delicious full breakfast included. Bed was a little hard but it was easily overlooked as the rest of the stay was amazing.
- Tracey (10/5): - Loved the breakfast and all day coffee/tea. Loved the furnishings and rooms. Staff were lovely. Within walking distance to downtown but removed enough to enjoy quiet.
- nic040 (10/5): Welcoming Emlagh! - Hotel is lovely - spacious and big staircase - in a great spot to walk into Dingle. We were greeted with tea and fruit cake which was welcome and delicious. Our room was huge and had everything we needed. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast the night before. Breakfast is between 8.30-9.15am - the smallest window of time! You are also fitting in around the big tour groups they have staying so breakfast was a noisy affair as they all chatted loudly! That aside it was a welcoming homely hotel and I would recommend!
- Joseph (10/5): - Personable staff and toffees and awesome breakfast made for a lovely stay.
- Otis (10/5): - Great location, spacious and comfortable room, excellent breakfast! Our first true B&B experience and we loved it
- Lorinda (10/5): Lovely estate house - There is an elevator (a plus). Five minute walk into town. Very quiet and serene
- Irene (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Emlagh very much! The location and staff were excellent!
- James (8/5): - Beautiful large rooms with king size bed. Lovely and accommodating staff. The breakfast menu had something for everyone.
- CHARLES (10/5): - GREAT location and terrific view. Large room. Very good breakfast. Close enough to walk to town, but a little bit away to be quiet.
- William (10/5): - We really loved the large rooms and king size bed. The water pressure in the shower was insane. The breakfast was just what the doctor ordered. Overall a really great nights stay.
- christopher (10/5): - Beautiful! Within walking distance of Dingle town area.
- Adventurer812050 (10/5): Huge Room and lovely daily tea in beautiful sun room with ocean view - Huge lovely room and large bathroom. Gorgeous facility and easy walk to central Dingle but nice to be out of the pub scene to relax. Plenty of parking. Best part was the hot tea service available all day in the living room with the best fruit cake I have ever had - not usually a fan, but this was unbelievably good and such a treat after a day of site-seeing. There is a beautiful sunroom with an ocean view to enjoy it in and also outdoor patio space. The staff were very warm and welcoming. Really enjoyed our stay and would return if we ever make it back to Dingle.
- Suzette (10/5): - gorgeous B&B, beautiful large room with a view, loved every minute staying here and would highly recommend it
- Liel (10/5): - Beautiful bed and breakfast with a beautiful view, within walking distance of the center of dingle.
- lindakL1127GZ (2/5): No hot water and bad behavior. - Our one night stay at Emlagh House started nicely. We were greeted within minutes of arriving by a very friendly woman who accepted payment and gave us a set of keys. The house looks like an old country estate, but is actually only about 30 years old and was built to be a small hotel, although without any staff after regular business hours. Breakfast was included, but we were told to come to breakfast at 9am because there was a tour group coming for breakfast earlier, which we thought was a little odd. Wouldn’t you allow your paying guests to breakfast during a certain time period, instead of restricting that time because a tour group was scheduled?
Anyway, dinner recommendations given by the woman who checked us in were great and the town is LOVELY.
This is where it ends.
The next morning, my husband got up first to find that the WiFi was down. Not terrible. Yet. Then, he went to shower, only to find that there was no hot water. He went downstairs to tell the only person he could find- an older woman who was busy serving breakfast, I assume to the tour group?
She came up to our room a few minutes later to say that a plumber was being sent for “straight away.” I don’t know where you live, but where we live, that could be hours. We didn’t have said hours, as we had a long drive to Kilkenny ahead of us. While he took a cold shower, I went down to ask if we could get some coffee. The same woman who was informed about the lack of hot water directed me to the parlor, where I was welcome to make my own cup of instant coffee. French press pots were on the tables of the people eating breakfast. I told her that I would rather not have instant- could I have fresh, and she then offered that I sit in the dining room, I showered and in my pajamas. Apparently, guests without hot water aren’t given any accommodations. I returned to our room, washed up with cold water the best I could and we went downstairs to leave. She had the audacity to ask if we wanted breakfast. She then said that the lack of hot water had been fixed “in two minutes” and that this had “never happened before” and “what do you want? I said I was sorry.”
This is absolutely unacceptable. This woman was rude and seemed to act like our expectation of hot water was some sort of insult. Hot water is not a luxury, especially at that price.
We left. That same day, I received a phone call from the owner. I told him what had happen and he said he would “investigate” and get back to me.
That was a week ago. I’m still waiting.
Stay somewhere else in lovely Dingle. I imagine even the hostel has hot water.
- Chad (10/5): - Fantastic service, wonderful room that was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Great location, short 5 minute walk to town.
- Tammy (10/5): - Our room and view was magnificent!
The service provided was lovely and friendly!
We will be returning for several days!
- Gina (10/5): - The cleanliness and welcoming vibe of this property was fantastic. We loved their proximity to the village and ease of parking. We really appreciated their hospitality.
- Lynne (10/5): Great stay at The Emlagh House - The Emlagh House was very nice. A spacious room and bathroom, the shower was a great size with fabulous water pressure (something you appreciate traveling around Ireland) It was very clean, the breakfast was wonderful and the staff very attentive.
We would stay there again if we are ever in the Dingle area.
- carolineq659 (10/5): Cozy Spacious Rooms and Wonderful Staff - Emlagh House was welcoming and comfortable. The house is decorated in the style of an old country estate, with lots of architectural detail, original paintings and antiques; yet it felt very cozy, comfortable and 'lived in'. Our room was very clean, spacious and had high ceilings and good light with a door opening to a small, private patio. Breakfasts were substantial with a full menu and very good food. When our rental car would not start, Susan went above and beyond to assist me in dealing with a very unresponsive Roadside Assistance Service that we paid for with the rental car . She made several calls and advocated for me. I cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful staff and how friendly and helpful they were! Highly recommend!
- Pamela J. (10/5): - What a gracious host and beautiful property! We loved our stay here! We were greeted and given a tour of the home. We had a lovely grand room facing the town. The breakfast was included, and was delicious. Tea and baked goods were always available. We wish we had longer here, and would most definitely return if we found ourselves in Dingle again. This was a lovely place to stay and my husbands favorite bed of a 13 day trip!!
- B2685AWjosephg (2/5): RUDE - HAVENT STAYED, WAS EXTREMELY RUDE ON THE PHONE RE A CANCELLATION yet given 6 weeks notice. their manner in speaking to us was appalling and aggressive. Both myself and my boss spoken to them and shocked with their attitude and response to us. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM, BAD FOR DINGLE
- Ashley (10/5): - This place was lovely! It was extremely close to town, yet very quiet. The view from our room was gorgeous! Breakfast was delicious and we had absolutely everything we needed while staying there.
- Maria (10/5): Great B&B in Dingle - Beautiful location, 5 min walk to the bars and restaurants in Dingle.
Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Spacious rooms and comfortable beds,
We really enjoyed our stay, and will be back !!
- Timothy J (10/5): - GREAT place
- Louis (10/5): - Great location. Great view. Historic house, great breakfast. We would return here when visiting Dingle in the future.
- Marie (8/5): - An amazing room overlooking Dingle . Staff could not have been nicer changing the double bed into two singles. Very very convenient for walking into town where parking can be a nightmare. V clean. Fantastic views. Breakfast was ok. Scones were amazing but rashers too streaky - personally. It’s a beautiful place with tea and cake on tap in the lounge!!! Would definitely recommend
- Stephen (10/5): - You could easily walk downtown. Breakfast was good . Eggs were a bit overdone and scones a little dry. Missed having both fruit and yogurt and a main course. One had to pick. Rooms were delightful and shower was excellent. Definitely would stay again.
- JustEatPlants (8/5): A spacious inn with antique charm. Could be more vegan-friendly. - This was a charming spot in Dingle with the most spacious rooms we had in Ireland. Unique antique furniture throughout and even a tub. Each downstairs room has its own little private patio with a hedge around it (we were there on a rainy weekend so we weren't able to enjoy that, but there are plenty of places to relax inside and tea is always available in the living room). They had biscoff biscuits there with the tea, but it would be good to have plant-based milk and a vegan baked good too, and plant-based milks and more vegan options were needed at breakfast. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The view from the dining room was lovely of the garden and a bit of the sea. Convenient location to walk to town in a few minutes on a sidewalk. Or you could walk to the seaside and down a trail to historic tower.
- KristenN858 (10/5): Perfect from start to finish! - Perfect stay from start to finish!
Our host showed us around this interesting, large home and to our room, which was large, comfortable and clean. We had a very quiet night’s rest.
We had a bag of laundry - dropped it off with reception that evening - it was clean and ready at our door the next morning, which was most welcome.
The breakfast is outstanding - delicious scones with jam and lots of great menu choices.
It is an easy walk to downtown Dingle as well as to the bay just down a quiet road. We visited in July, and the backyard as well as the perimeter parking lot was bursting with beautiful blooms.
We did a tour the next morning, after checking out of the House, and we left our car in the private House parking lot until later in the afternoon, which made for a hassle free day.
We would definitely stay again!
- SUZANNE (10/5): - We stayed for 3 nights and it was fantastic! Large rooms with beautiful decor and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great and the tea room was nice in the evening for meeting people. We walked to town every day and it was super convenient. There is also parking which was nice. Highly recommend this place!
- SKO211 (10/5): Highly recommend - Loved it! A short walk to the city center. The house itself is beautiful, and beautifully decorated, well maintained! Our large room had a seating area and a huge window that looked out over the town of Dingle and beyond, just lovely! The bathroom was large and well equipped, had a heated floor, very nice. We never heard so much as a peep out of the other guests, our room was very quiet. The breakfast and the lovely ladies serving the guests were all excellent! The staff were all very nice, friendly, and helpful. If I could change something it would only be the mattress on our bed, the center of the mattress was higher than the sides, we slightly rolled downhill either way, that affected the comfort level quite a bit, but it's certainly not a deal breaker, I still give Emlagh House 5 stars, we'll definitely stay at this charming place again, hopefully the mattress will have been replaced by then.
- cvillemom3 (10/5): Beautiful Bed & Breakfast - I loved this Bed & Breakfast! It has beautiful large rooms. Many amenities and full of charm. Easy walk to Pubs, restaurants and shops. The people working there are lovely. My favorite place that we stayed in all of Ireland!
- H741LLamys (10/5): Relax and enjoy Emlagh House while visiting Dingle - We spent 4 nights in this lovely inn. The room was spacious and nicely appointed with an updated and large bathroom. Most importantly the staff were phenomenal - so accommodating and always nice. Peggy and Susie couldn't have been more helpful. Missing my very American iced tea, they were nice enough to brew me a pot of tea and bring me ice on multiple occasions. And the breakfasts were incredible - amazing scones, followed by pretty much anything else you could think of - everything perfectly prepared. The dining room was airy and bright so the delicious food was even more enjoyable. The only day we actually didn't travel around the peninsula, we picked up lunch in town and ate it in the lovely backyard. The location was great - near the marina and everything in charming Dingle was walkable! If you are lucky enough to spend time on the beautiful Dingle peninsula, Emlagh House is the ideal place to stay.
- dorieg246 (10/5): Home away from home ❤️ - Just spent a week at Emlagh House. It was our 6th visit staying at Emlagh House. You can walk to Town or take a walk along the water. Dawn, our Host, and her spectacular staff of Susie ,Peggy, and Mary make it a true home away from home.
- jbienst (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Dingle - This hotel was an easy 7 minute walk from “downtown” Dingle. We had a really nice room that was the largest of any hotel we stayed in during our 9 days in Ireland. The room had a king sized bed and a nice sitting area with two chairs and a table and still had plenty of room. The bathroom was also completely accessible (grab bars and lipless shower) if you have mobility issues. Breakfast was very good.
- Barbara Lynn (6/5): - The shower had personal body hairs in it and the tub was not clean. The property did not look as clean and fresh as the pictures on expedia show. That said, the one staff
Member was very helpful and pleasant.
- Kathleen (8/5): - T
- Brenda Huckabee (10/5): Very pleased ! - Wonderful experience. Great location . Beautiful room . Delicious breakfast and hosts .

- Anna (10/5): - Perfect location. Easily walkable but none of the noise or parking issues.
The bathrooms are decandant, worth a trip just for them.
- Terry (10/5): - I loved everything about the Emlagh property and staff. Lovely. On a scale of 1 to 10 ( 10 being the best) we would rate our stay an 11 or 12. 😀😀😀. Will tell our friends to stay there when in Dingle. We would come back for sure. Skip and Debbie

- Rebecca (10/5): - Loved the Emlagh House and all it has to offer. Close to town, yet far enough away for a quiet setting. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Rooms were large and very well appointed. Breakfast service offered a choice of different options to choose from. Great place and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a gem to stay at.
- 357dorothyg (10/5): Still the best in Dingle - This was our sixth time staying there. It's very beautifully decorated and the rooms are very large. It's a five minute walk to the center of town. Dawn the owner and Peggy and Susie who work for her are all great and go out of their way to help you. I can't recommend it enough.

- Martin (10/5): Excellent B&B - Perfect location on the edge of town. Hard to find fault and I would definitely recommend to others.
- boland32 (10/5): Great value - Great location, lovely room with plenty of space and sea views. Breakfast was lovely and lots of parking! Gave extra towels when going for a dip in the sea. Amazing character for the price, would go again if staying in the kingdom. Can’t say anything bad…
- ritan163 (10/5): Tranquil and Beautiful - Stayed for three nights at Emlagh House. Dawn made us very welcome on arrival. The place is very spacious and full of beautiful antique furniture and the house is full of history. Our room was huge and bed was so comfortable.
Enjoyed lovely breakfast every morning served by the very chatty Susie and helpful Peggy and lovely views of Dingle bay to add to the beauty. Scones are delicious.
Will definitely return and I will also recommend Emlagh House to anyone wanting to stay in Dingle.
Rita (Co. Sligo).
- TruthfulTrippersTips (10/5): Immaculate Perfection - First of all location is superb. 5 minute walk to the town yet so far away from the hustle and bustle at the same time. Building itself is gorgeous and so well kept. Inside is amazing. I am a clean freak when away and this place you could eat your food off the floor is Pristine in every part of it. We stayed in the Primrose room its a king room - unreal. Like a big suite. Whopper bed. Stunning views. Seated area. The bathroom has a his and hers area. Gorgeous marble to give the room a modern touch. The bath is divine I had one that night! Breakfast is 10/10. I genuinely fell in love with the place. We are RAGING we had to go after one night. 5 star stunningness. Can't wait to go back!
- Curiosity52977703230 (10/5): Beautiful country home - We stayed here for June bank holiday weekend, when B&B’s were allowed to open up. We were greeted warmly by a very friendly lady, that looked after us very well. Our room was lovely, very spacious and clean and the bathroom was huge. The house is a beautiful and elegant house and the breakfast was fabulous, served by another professional and friendly lady. We will definitely recommend this place to others, thank you for looking after us so well
- smcginley93 (10/5): Amazing stay! Great location, great accommodation & fantastic host! - Myself and my fiancé arrived to Dingle with plans to camp however there was a turn in the weather so we had a last minute scramble to find a room .
Thankfully we arrived to Emlagh which had one room free. Peggy the front of house was FANTASTIC. Nothing was too much trouble , she was so accommodating. Our room was grand, spacious and very clean. The breakfast included was lovely and that evening Peggy provided us with ice and a bucket so we could have some wine while we got ready. The location was super , 5 min walk to the town centre restaurants and bars. The house was grand , clean and had everything you need. Would definitely recommend and will be back if ever visiting dingle again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Every member of staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Linda (10/5): - This was a fabulous location I felt like a Queen I my beautiful room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fabulous room and BED. WONDERFUL STAFF. EXCELLENT breakfast
- Jg (10/5): - Lovely spacious room with a view of the sea. Huge bathroom with heated floor and dual sinks. Warm welcoming staff. It’s not a buffet breakfast but rather to order. They make the most delicious delicate scones.
- Patrick (10/5): Spacious old style charm - Victorian style hotel with modern conveniences
- Sara (8/5): - Great location, and great service. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was filling and tasty. The bed was *so hard*.
- Francis (10/5): Two Thumbs Up. - My family had two room and they were both very big. They had siting areas with nice views of Dingle.
The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was delicious.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was as nice as can be. The facility just so-so. Old, dated, minimal room service during the entire three days we were there. Caulking nasty in the shower. Minimal furniture in the room and in the common areas it was old and worn. Nice breakfast.
- Jonathan (10/5): Absolutely Charming - Throughout the course of our trip through Ireland, we stayed at 5 different places, and Emlagh house was by far our favorite. The staff was kind and welcoming, the room was spacious and charming, and the breakfast was delicious. The convenient location to the city center of Dingle is a major plus. We will definitely return to Emlagh house on our next trip to Ireland.
