Guest Reviews
- Heather (5/5): - The check in was easy. The room was dirty. No cups for coffee, They were full size beds I paid for a deluxe room. The.ir was bare minimum. accommodations and no breakfast like advertised..
- Brittany (3/5): -
- briddick (3/5): -
- Gerodias (7/5): -
- Dawn (3/5): - Location No breakfast, unlike advertised
- Jasmine (10/5): Get in contact with the third-party to change my booking - I like the puppy if you say my date December 19 to December 20 To lay my head into the next day
- Amanda (5/5): - They came to clean the room, and left the door wide open when they left. It opens to the parking lot. Anyone could have walked in and stolen our stuff. Nobody was around when we came back! Not sure how long the door is open, but it was very upsetting. Nothing was stolen, thankfully. I wanted to talk to someone, but the cleaning people didn't speak English. So I couldn't ask them why the door was open and nobody was around.
- Marilyn (4/5): - Workers were nice nothing else Beds were sunk in and very uncomfortable, no breakfast or coffee offered even though it was posted in front of the hotel in huge words. Sorry I even went there never again
- Susan (8/5): - Room was good size, bed was very comfortable and air conditioner worked well in 95 degree heat.
- Gretchen (2/5): - Staff was rude, room was not clean and there was trash strewn all over the lawn (I wish I’d taken a photo of it!). Did not have my King room available, instead offered a weak excuse, “there must be a funeral in town.” After the way he acted, I fully expected the parking lot to be full…NOPE.
- Rex (4/5): Taylorville stay. - Bathtub was in real bad shape. Microwave turntable broke. No lightbulbs in lamp.
- Caleb (2/5): - Got this room due to the breakfast included, arrived and was informed “no longer provide breakfast”. I was riding my motorcycle from Florida to Iowa, having breakfast included was essential. The room had previous peoples hair. A grasshopper. Duct tape on the bottom of the door in a failed attempt to keep the outside pests out. Gaps in the floor boards. Overall a terrible experience. I placed the chair up against the front door and a lamp against the “shared door”. No hot water. Terrible.
- Steve (8/5): - No breakfast
- Carolyn (10/5): - The staff was very nice and helpful
- Donna (8/5): - When i booked it , i really thought it was a hotel where you went inside ( i feel a little safer at those kind ) but this did what we needed .A bed to sleep in that was very soft n smelled clean , an a hot shower .
I did notice in the bathroom floor a few small dead bugs along the baseboard ,but nothing too crazy .oh yeah n the fire alarm was open without a battery in it ( that didnt make me feel good , but i was tired n stayed anyway .)
I was hoping for a small breakfast ,coffee n a poptart but that didnt happen either .
- Lydia (4/5): - Did not like the advertisement of breakfast and there was actually no breakfast.
- Eileen (6/5): - Staff we're very nice. The rooms could be a little cleaner.
- Backwoodz (2/5): - Would not recommend toilets barely work room was dirty found mold. Have the lights didn't work in the room. Cleaning staff wouldn't listen came in the room when we were in there
- Sage (4/5): - Bugs, stained sheets, ac unit was crap, bathroom smelled terrible. Won't stay there again, at least not for that price
- Verified traveler (4/5): Had better stays at no name motels - First off front desk door is locked be prepared t9 ring the bell and wait 20 min for someone to let you in. The app said smoking rooms availiable and got there they said all the rooms were non smoking even though some doors said smoking below the room number. Secondly the first room they gave me didnt even have the linens changed. When i brought it up to the desk was told. "My bad that room hasnt even been cleaned and the cleaning crew has already gone home." They gave a different room that appeared cleaned but had a smell. Having a time frame to be at the event i was attending. I figured forget it only planning to use the place to sleep in. Went to event and came back and slept. Went to the office at 8 to have free breakfast advertised which didnt exist. Front desk said "We dont have it right now but when we do its between 6 and 9 am. So we went back to the room just to discover neither key would work. Checkout wasnt until 11. So went back to the office and tried to give me this crap about "putting it too close to your phone will wipe them" when both of us had left our phones in the room and the keys were on the table next to the coffee pot. While we slept and had just worked when we came in.
- Ream (4/5): This was not a great experience. - Bed was comfortable. Shower was good (water pressure, temperature)). TV worked fine. Fridge/freezer was great! Floor was dirty. Some outlets were hanging off walls. Humid in room, even with AC running. No Creamer in room, and office didn't have any, either. Breakfast area was a mess.
- Vergara (1/5): Bad - Nothing The room was absolutely disgusting & dirty....needs to be updated
- Andrea (7/5): Good -
- Forrest (2/5): - The towels were wet. the lights didn’t work or flickered. Was not maintained very well. Smelled like sewage in the room. Mold on the walls. And there was a blood stain on the sheets. Would have been more comfortable sleeping in a car
- Steven (2/5): - There was nothing to like about the property. In order: I was promised a handicapped room which dud not happen. The ice machine was broken and so I had to go to the office and ring the bell then wait for office staff to get ice from the Office for me. There were 7 rooms for people in our group - we found blood on the sheets, blood on the lampshade, black mold in the kitchen areas, black mold in the bathrooms, cabinets in the kitchen with damage (boards of cabinet bottom kicked in and laying under the cabinets), unfinished tile in the bathrooms, LOTS AND LOTS OF BUGS!!!, one person’s shower had black water coming out of the shower. Towels were stained and there was mold on some of the shower curtains. The floors were filthy. Over all, an abysmal experience.
- Gerde (1/5): Bad - The location They had bed bugs
- Andrea (5/5): Passable - Location. Room was dirty. Floors were filthy, unswept and not mopped. I also seen a baby roach crawling on the dresser.
- Moore (1/5): Probably the worst motel experience in my life - Very worn and dirty. Although advertised with free breakfast, there was none. Unsanitary comditions
- Tom E (6/5): - Quiet, but floor was quite dirty ! Nice place to eat within walking distance..
- Sarah (6/5): - Though advertising stated breakfast provided, it was not provided. Not substandard, nonexistent.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wes (2/5): - Wyndham standards have declined.
A place with a big sign advertising breakfast and doesn’t even have coffee was very disappointing,
- Robert (3/5): Poor -
- Jeff (6/5): - It was alright, just a few cockroaches.
- Walter (2/5): Never again! - Stool loose. Door card only had 1 night saved, had to go back couldn't get in room.
Advertised Breakfast, no breakfast.
Advertised Ice machine, no ice.
NO employees with experience.
- Joelan (7/5): Good - Free breakfast was posted in the app and posted outside in the vicinity, but was not available anymore.
- Chelbie (4/5): - The room smelled clean, however the floors were definitely not. There were splatters and spill marks in several locations as well as lots of hair and dirt behind the bathroom door. There was no breakfast available as advertised. I booked a King room but was told there were none available even though it seemed there was only one or two other rooms being occupied at the time of our stay.
- Anna (3/5): Poor -
- Richard (8/5): - ?
- Howard (1/5): Bad -
- Howard (1/5): Bad -
- Gary (4/5): Cold night out - The hot water only stayed hot for 2 minutes or less. Girlfriend and I had to take cold showers.
- Alicea (10/5): Exceptional - Beds were comfortable, spacious. Check in and out was easy. Anything extra that was needed was easily provided to us.
- Marcelo (2/5): I went for work at Taylorville and this hotel was not cheap $100 a night and it didn’t include breakfast and room and ba - When I booked it said it included breakfast and when I went to check in the front desk told me it didn’t. My shower was dirty and had a bug.
- Michael (6/5): Ok for the price but could be better - The bed was terrible it had a dip in the middle and only 2 flat pillows. The pages curtain had mold and soap scum.
- Pilant (2/5): Very poor - Our room was infested with lady bugs so we left the property. The young man on the front desk was the only good thing about the property. Dale Pilant
- Geoff (10/5): - Good
- James (7/5): The room was clean. The location was good. - The location was easy to locate. I didn't do breakfast. The room was clean. The opposite side of the room of the heater was cold And there were not enough blankets. The neighbors next door were talking outside of their room and I could hear their conversation. That was on going past 10:00 pm.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Skip if at all possible - Very dirty and run down. The room had trash behind the night stand and mini fridge (used paper platesand candy wrappers). The freezer in the fridge was frozen over and something had melted into the ice all over it. On top of that, at 8a the morning after our first night, someone just walked into our room while we were sleeping even though we were booked for two nights. No knocking at all. If there was another hotel in Taylorville that was any better, we would have left immediately. By the way, once you check in you can't get a refund. So you won't get the chance to see how bad the room is and then get your money back.
- Elizabeth (2/5): Never Again - The room was dirty, reeked of bleach, no iron, a/c black with dust, we didn't use it. Windowsill full of dead bugs and dirt. Bathtub included hair from former occupants. Chairs stained. While looking for a phone book in the nightstand drawer didn't find the usual bible but a used tube of KY jelly and two unused condoms. The location was quiet, the desk clerk helpful and friendly. The place needs to be cleaned,
- Beverly (10/5): I will stay again - The room was nice and clean.
- Steven (4/5): - Sheets and towels were stained. There was mold in the bathroom and the baseboards throughout were dirty.
- Mark (2/5): - The room appeared clean but there were crickets and spiders in it.
- Marta (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel is very generic nothing fancy
But I wasn’t expecting fancy just clean and bug free
Hair and dirt in the bed looked like the bed was just made up after last person checked out
Shredded cheese in the floor looking back now I guess the bugs needed something to eat no toilet paper and no water in bathtub plenty of dead bugs behind Tv tho
- Kris (4/5): Poor - There was no breakfast like advertised on the sign and online, rooms are dirty, dark outside with no lighting, desk receptionist spoke little english
- Carolyn (4/5): Disappointing - Location is about all I liked about this motel. The price is to high for the small town that is located in and there is only two motels in the town,so the price goes up and down. The office isn't open at all times. No breakfast as advertised on sign and in booking.com app.
- Ricky (5/5): Passable - Clean bed. Working shower. A/C. Very unfinished. Not dirty, but looks dirty. Insulation smashed around a/c to seal it for example. Definitely not nice. But it'll do for a cheap motel
- Rodney (6/5): Not satified - Worst motel or hotel I have stayed at in years and price was high do to local events.
- Thomas (4/5): Overpriced for quality. - Bed was comfortable. Tile floor was very dirty as it made my feet black when walking around barefoot. Otherwise seemed clean.
- Karl (1/5): Don’t stay at this super 8 if you want a good nights sleep - We left for the day and got back to room around. 930 and it was not made up. Called mgr and he said his staff had called in sick and he was sorry but nothing he could do about it.no clean towels, coffee ,cups.
the beds we had the worst mattress that I have ever tried to sleep on . It created a large hole when you laid down and was hard as a rock.
I will never stay at this super 8 again.
- Gary (6/5): - Staff was pleasant. Room had issues that housekeeper could not maintain. Not her fault.
- Deanna (5/5): Passable -
- Mark (10/5): - Overall everything was great great, i was working at the power plant nearby and they totally worked with me on my check ins and outs. I dont even look for anywhere else to stay unless they are full.
- Peggy (4/5): - Parking - ample. Easy to get to off of main road. Clean and quiet area around the building! No carpet in the room so that’s a plus, but there were some sticky spots. I cleaned that up.
Microwave - filthy. Bathroom was nasty, wouldn’t take a shower in there. Smooshed fly on the mirror. They could take a little bit more pride in their cleaning. There wasn’t a lot of rooms being occupied, so cleaning should be a lot better.
I stayed there because it was only 5 minutes from where I needed to be the following morning.
The checkin area, after being “buzzed” in, was dark and not inviting at all. Open boxes were laying around. I’m glad I didn’t pay over 100.00 because it wasn’t worth it.
This was just my experience.
- Stacey (2/5): Drive a little further - Hotels.com offered "suites" for more money. Hotel stated they don't even have suites....mattress was sunken in something terrible. So uncomfortable. 2 towels for 4ppl. Asked for more and he told us not to wipe our mud off with them (we had left a mud fest) we told him we were planning on showering with them. No breakfast available in the morning. Tried running my card at noon but check in wasn't until hours later. It was locked. TV Remote didn't work, had to download an app on our phone. It was clean enough, I guess. I didn't really inspect much.
- King (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sharon (2/5): - shower didn't work sink would not drain and the refrigerator leaked water and tv didn't work
- Lisa (8/5): - Very nice & reasonable
- Alan (8/5): Nice place to stay on a road trip! - Very pleased. The room was clean and the beds comfy. I was able to sleep well. Nice hot shower too.
- Mason (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (10/5): - It's quiet, clean and comfortable. The restaurant down the street had good food and gave us a discount for staying.
- Debbie (10/5): I'd stay here again - Clean and comfortable Wish they had breakfast
- Gary (6/5): - Area was dark. Several burned out lights in the room.
- Rosemary (10/5): - Right off the highway but quiet
- Flatt (7/5): Good - I've stayed here before and it's the better place to stay in town.
- Janelle (10/5): - I have extended family in Taylorville, and I am happy to stay there again when I have the opportunity to return for an overnight stay.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oscar (8/5): Super - Tenia que buscar un lugar por una noche encontre este super 8 me agrado dormi muy agusto y un rico baño con agua caliente
- John (2/5): - Phone in the room was cut. Electricity went out in the middle of the night only at hotel. Door to room opened out not in. No breakfast as advertised
- Petrillo (1/5): Bad -
- Anonymous (1/5): Not happy ,didn’t expect nothing fancy but this was bad. - The room was dirty, it had not been cleaned. The bed sheets had not been changed, it also had dirt on them.
- John (10/5): - quick easy check-in, friendly staff
- Rachel (4/5): Disappointing - We were not offered breakfast No water pressure, shower would not drain .
- Jeanie (7/5): Good -
- J.David (8/5): - The motel can be seen from the street but the driveway in is not well marked.
- Margaret (5/5): It was remodeled room. The beds were nice. The sheets were clean and not too old. Dirt in corners - It had no breakfast. The room was barely clean. There were bits of plaster in the bathtub.
- Nicholas (1/5): Bad - There was no breakfast! Electric went out at 9 and finally came on 3 a. m. Toilet seat was broken. The cable did not work husband had to move it around to get it to work. Shower curtain would not stay closed slides to middle. The staff was cordial, but would not answer phone to tell them about electrical outage! Always rang busy.
- Dawn (7/5): Good -
- Steve (8/5): - A clean motel that is being remodeled
- Lane (4/5): - Microwave did not work, electrical switch in bathroom faulty, bathroom sink leaked. No continental breakfast available. Had to ring a bell to be admitted to the office. Unable to switch out the microwave upon request. The property did reduce the total price on the bill as there was a power outage during one night.
- Jamie (3/5): No Way to Stay - They say free breakfast but when went to check in the breakfast area was filled with boxes. The rooms were not clean. Dead bugs in the corners. Tub had mold on the seams. That is just a few things. No smoke detector. No cord for the receiver part of the phone so good luck calling the front desk.
- Brenda (1/5): Bad -
- Shaquita (9/5): Superb -
- Dale (8/5): - Room was clean. Breakfast was fine for me. Cereal, juice, muffins, coffee, and other items. No in room coffee. Non-smoking but smelled like an ashtray in the hallway. Outside needs yard, and landscaping maintained.
- Eileen (6/5): - hard to find
- John (10/5): - Manager and staff were very nice and accommodating. Appreciate how well they cleaned the rooms everyday.
- Art (4/5): Disappointing - Phone didn't work, mildew in the refrigerator, the bathroom had no cylindrical plastic toilet paper holder. The toilet paper on top of the tank had already been opened & used. In other words, there was no unopened toilet paper roll in the bathroom. My total cost, after taxes and fees, was $95 in a motel that should be valued around $40. EVERYTHING!
- Twila (3/5): Poor -
