• nadinebongato (10/5): GREAT STAY AT 57 HOTEL - I had an excellent 5D4N stay at 57 Hotel. The location is outstanding, with convenient access to Central Station and key tourist attractions. Surry Hills and Darlinghurst are also within walking distance, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Additionally, Woolies is located just nearby for added convenience. The room was well-appointed and perfectly sized for a solo traveler, with a particularly well-maintained bathroom. Complimentary breakfast was provided daily, which was a pleasant inclusion. I would also like to commend the staff for their professionalism and warm hospitality—special mention to Kaori, Motohiro, Ciara, Lynn, and Mac for their exceptional service. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again and highly recommend it.

• 708angusd (2/5): Poor experience for the price - The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night during our stay which was problematic with a baby. I understand that false alarms can happen, but apparently this was set off by someone smoking in their room. One person smoking should not trigger a building wide evacuation. Booking software was very poor. I originally booked for the wrong dates, but never received any booking reminders so was charged for a night I didn't stay - I only found out about the error by calling up myself to extend my booking, only to be told my booking had passed and there was nothing that could be done but re-book. The room across from ours was clearly using an escort service which was off-putting I would have told the reception all this (I generally don't like leaving poor public reviews), but wasn't asked how my stay was when we checked out

However, the information I received on the phone prior to my arrival was misleading which resulted in some significant logistical challenges related to parking. Had I been given clear information initially, our trip would have been smooth.
• C4078ZVjareds (10/5): Good value hotel in excellent location - The location is excellent, right near the train line from the airport and also near the tram to my company. It’s a friendly hotel, I always find the staff to be very nice and helpful Kaori-san in particular is really great, always with a kind smile and she’s efficient in helping the guests. She has a great work attitude! I like the self serve coffee and pastries in the morning, I can go at my own pace and not wait for service. The rooms are not fancy but they have almost everything and they are clean. The room staff is very thorough. My only two issues are 1) the bathroom floor floods a bit when showering and 2) there is no space to put my clothes other than the hangers. I will recommend 57 hotel to others.

Excellent service provided by Lin, Kaori and Moto-san throughout stay. Room was exceptionally clean and fully functioning. Safe location and very quiet inside room despite the road at front We will be staying here again.

This time I booked through booking.com but next will book direct and ask (and pay) for a late check out rather than paying 2 nights and leaving early if that is possible. Also lovely staff !
• S2800WRhelent (6/5): Good basic accommodation - Great location and lovely welcome when checking in. Room was basic and had what we needed however the shelf in the shower was on a lean so couldn't put any shampoo/body wash containers on it as they fell off, plug in basin didn't stop water draining so couldn't have a decent basin full of water plus the pressure in the hand basin and the shower was terrible when using cold water. Cold water was dribbling out of the basin tap. Unusual bathroom set up with the glass doors and curtains.

• Wanderer38660107287 (10/5): Service was terrific, staff amazing - We stayed at Hotel 57 for 5 nights whilst on holiday in Australia from the UK. My wife was poorly when we arrived and the hotel, we arrived early but the team allowed us to use the room early to enable my wife to recover. From the first minute you could tell that service would be terrific and it really was. The hotel has a disco lift which was fun and also provide complimentary coffee and pastries at breakfast. The decor is really cool, rooms are spacious and the location is literally 5 minutes from Central station. We went to the Oasis gig at the Olympic stadium, having the train station close was really useful. We left our cases whilst we travelled to the gold coast, which was good and we felt very welcomed by the whole team. Thank you so much Hotel 57, if we come back to Sydney, we'll stay again. you really made our holiday special.

• maryM5555HS (10/5): Convenient, comfortable and clean hotel in Surry Hills, steps from Sydney's Central station. - My husband and I stayed at 57 Hotel for the first time for a quick one night visit to Sydney from Canberra. The hotel is a short walk form Central where we had arrived by train, and in the leafy residential Surrey Hills, full of great places to eat. Aside from the convenience of the hotel to Central, the tram, new Metro and train lines that can take you virtually anywhere in the city quickly and easily, the hotel itself is really lovely with quirky, modern decor, clean comfortable rooms and lobby, serving 24 hour tea and coffee and continental breakfast. Staff were all very polite and helpful and we would (and are) going back!

I could leave my luggage, they provided an extension plug and gave me info about how to get to the airport. Lovely, comfortable room, nice lounge with good music. Super!
• Fearless00012642264 (4/5): A disappointing stay due to the room size and layout. - Location was excellent. The room was awful - the smallest and most difficult room I've ever stayed in. Not only was it small but it had a 1 metre square concrete pillar in the room that meant you could only get into the bed from one side or over the end. The bedside table was jammed in behind it. The room was so small you stepped out of the bed, and you were in the glass-walled bathroom/toilet. When the neighbours had lights on in their bathroom it lit up our bedroom. There was nowhere to put your bags to open them other than immediately inside the door or on the bed. Getting the ironing board set up was a joke. The office desk was tiny and had a fridge squeezed underneath it so no room to get your legs underneath. No jug to make a cup of tea etc. The room was clean. The 'rainwater' shower head spewed water from above the nozzle.

• R4273RTbarbarar (8/5): 57 Hotel continues its accommodation with a ❤️ - I’ve stayed here several times..the location is wonderful - close to light rail, Central Station and the city, the staff unfailingly helpful and friendly. The rooms are quite spacious, the fitout funky and fun and with everything you might need. 57 Hotel foyer has two self-help coffee machines 24/7, with a small selection of pastries/muffins offered each morning. So many excellent casual dining options and bars within a few minutes. I find more each time I stay. The pharmacy down Foveaux Street towards Central has everything one might need with great staff, a Woolworths Metro close by covers basic needs.

• 395frankym (8/5): Ideal location to Central station, plus other attractions. - The hotel was close to Central station with a 5 minute walk after flying into the airport and using the T8 train. The room was smaller than we were used to but, kept very clean with toiletries and a magnified mirror as well an over sink mirror. The coffee machine in the foyer was a great addition with a water fountain. In the morning they offered small pastries, cereal bars and boxes of raisins plus a fruit bowl next to the coffee machine.

• natashafP45PV (4/5): Disappointing - Disappointing experience. I was advised that I could not drink out of the tap in the room and there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room. Meaning I had to come downstairs to the lobby to get water or coffee. The shower had no seal around the base and the bathroom flooded when I had a shower. For the $300 a night price that I paid this was not what I expected.

They couldn’t do enough to help us and we had arrived early and wanted to leave late. They stored our luggage no worries and the complimentary tea/coffee/fruit/lollies offered is brilliant! So close to central rail and trams. We’ll stay again!!

Beautifully designed lobby atmosphere, stunning with delicious complimentary coffee machine. Super romantic vibe. Disco lift was hilarious. Our room was intimate, smaller, but that caused zero issues, bed was very comfortable as was pillows. Room was clean and lovely. Had everything we needed. They even gave us a completely upgraded room and bed to a queen which was super lovely. Wonderfully priced and good value. The staff were AMAZING! So friendly, helpful and lovely. We will be back next time we come to Sydney. What a beautiful hotel. We were very impressed.

• kuntamaric2025 (10/5): The quiet pleaser - Hotel 57, is Quirky with a sense of quiet style and impeccable customer service. Its location is ideal for travellers passing through or staying on. It's a short walk from and to trains, light rail and buses. My daughter and I had a sweet stop over. The complimentary pastry, coffee and tea are a considered touch. We would stay at Hotel 57 again.

• simonlA8376FT (2/5): Long story short: There are tons of hotel in Sydney, avoid this one! - I booked this hotel but had an incident that happened in the family so I was forced to cancel, hotel handling was harsh & terrible, I talked to the staff, they insisted it as a non-cancellation policy so they just treated me as a no-show. Agoda informed me this hotel took all the money & did not care about anything after. Agoda is extremely dissatisfied with the handling of this hotel & recommends me to give a negative review so all prospective guests know what is going on. I have booked with Agoda for the past 10 years & this is the only hotel that has been this stringent. The hotel took usd 322 & insulted me over the phone. The hotel also has a tendency for insulting guests who provide a bad review on Agoda.
• leashy1975 (10/5): Perfect gem in the city. - Perfect little gem in the city. Rooms clean comfortable. Shower was amazing. Free coffee anytime in the foyer, free pastries in the morning. Staff were so lovely. So close to the light rail and Central. Charming restaurants and coffee shops all within walking distance. We will certainly be back!

This is no frills accommodation so there's no tea or coffee in the rooms but there is a great espresso bar in the foyer. The only thing I miss is not being able to stream to the TV. The best by far at the price point in the area.

But the hotel room on 5th does not have a window that can be opened so we had to have the aircon on which is not environmental friendly. Organic food scraps can't be composted locally, so we had to take them to Blue Mountains. I will be more likely to stay in this hotel again if those things are worked on.

• Marion (8/5): - Great location if you're taking the train or tram from Central station. The King plus one room was a good size with plenty of space for 2 people. Liked the sunny bathroom of the north facing rooms. However noise level from pipes and electrical system throughout the nights meant we had to sleep with ear plugs. Would always sound like someone was running a bath above your room. It kinda feels like a former office block converted to hotel rooms.

The room was tiny but clean, the bed was comfy and the staff were great! Great value, great location, clean room and excellent customer service.
• 54zuric (8/5): Great staff. Odd layout. - The layout for room 202 is just wonky. I know you're working with the space you have. But the column in the middle of the room and the bathroom layout are just awful. The bathroom is really cramped. There is no space in front of the toilet forcing you to be at an odd angle to sit. The entrance to the bathroom is narrow. It's just a mess. But otherwise the staff was friendly, the hotel was quiet and the locations proximity to the metro was perfect.

• Tina (6/5): awkward bathroom - We loved the location (great Surry Hills restaurants and right by Central Station) and the hotel was clean and the staff friendly and responsive. What I didn't realize is that the bathroom is located by the windows so you always had to close the shades when you used it . That was super awkward and inconvenient. Weird disco balls and overly dark/moody design. Not likely to book again but not a bad experience. Just bad bathroom design.

The complimentary breakfast wasn't impressive, but the convenience and selection were enjoyable. We also found the coffee machine to be a big bonus. At check-in we were greeted by a young British woman and a very punny man (I unfortunately cannot remember their names), who I particularly enjoyed chatting with. My only complaint would be that the morning staff was less chatty and even a bit cold.

• karar183 (2/5): Be aware to lose your deposit for many many days - Be aware they charged me $100 deposit which after I checked out I felt like I had done something wrong. When the staff said they needed to check my room before I could have my deposit returned to me once this was clear they returned my money and has still not cleared. I rang them Two days after as I heave grace for the weekend Monday Tuesday still no money returned. I approach them and then they advise me you can take up to 10 days to return my $100 which I think is ridiculous as I may need this money. When I did call, they asked me if I was charged $100 or a one dollar so maybe they were judging on how I look considering I work right next door within a very premium product. I’m totally disappointed and will not stay there again nor will I put anyone from my company to stay there.

I found that the water was luke warm, even with the tap as far to the left as possible. I arrived via train around 2130, was feeling cold, and was looking forward to a lovely warm shower to warm myself up.

• smklich (8/5): An easy place to stay in a great location. - The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well maintained. It is all rather dark, which I guess is the ‘modern vibe’. Our room had no window. It was large and spacious as it had an extra single bed in it. Rooms are minimalist as the facilities (tea/coffee/microwave) are in a pleasant share space downstairs (so no kettle etc in your room). I don’t like a glass walled bathroom but there is a privacy curtain. It’s in a great location for Central Station and there are plenty of places to eat in easy walking distance. The bed is large and comfortable. If you’re looking for ‘homely’ this hotel isn’t it. If you’re looking for functional, convenient and problem free this is a good spot.

The hotel has a bit of character and charm which separates it from the usual chai hotels. A particular quirk is the disco ball in one of the elevators. The room was finished to a high standard and comfortable.

The lobby is super stylish and gives off a really professional vibe right from the start. Room service was on point—quick, friendly, and really well done. Big shoutout to Apsara and Mitab for making everything feel easy and comfortable. If you're in Sydney for work, I’d definitely recommend this place. It’s comfy, convenient, and the staff really know how to take care of you.

Sierra was so good to deal with and followed up my emails, she is bright and so good for that position. Very helpful with information and a lovely smile Kieran was really good too and interested in the days events and what we had been up to. As i was leaving really early, he arranged the night supervisor to arrange some snacks for me on my way home. I really love the free coffee and tea facilities and think that your brekkie bites is a brilliant little service that markets the place more than you know. I had friends staying at a near by hotel who paid $30 for brekkie each day. I was satisfied with the brekkie bites and it was complimentary. My friends will book with you guys next time too. I was out all day and just really needed a clean room and bed at the end of the day so your rates were really so good compared to my friends who paid nearly double for their room. Thank you guys, I have already told many of my friends about staying with you and how everyone is so helpful and the services like complimentary coffee and brekkie bites just make the decision to stay with you guys so much easier to make :) I stayed 3 nights from 8th June - 10th June Regards Greg
• lokeshkumars2021 (10/5): The best hotel to accommodate near City with free breakfast - Staff were very polite, guided and well equipped with knowledge. The hotel is very near to the Cetral station where we get all Trains, Metro and Trams as well. Easy to travel back and forth for hotel and other locations in City. The cost was little expensive but maybe because I visited during Vivid festival in June.

Multiple restaurants (wide variety of cuisines like Greek, Italian, Japanese, Thai, etc.) and pubs are 5-10 mins walk away. Located on a silent street. Comfortable beds. No disturbances / noise - great sleep. We were on the 3rd floor. Very clean room and hotel. Grab and go breakfast is a lifesaver if you are touring with early start to the day. The 24x7 coffee is incredible. All the staff we interacted with was amazing, friendly and helpful. One lent us a couple of umbrellas on the day we had checked out and left our bags with the hotel. Another gave the kids some chocolate bars. Yet another helped us with suggestions on where to eat, directions to the metro & Woolworths etc. Very warm and welcoming hotel & staff.

I'd recommend 57 Hotel for both Business and personal trips. Located on Foveaux st, its close to nice eateries, nice Bars and some of the best Pubs in Sydney. The location couldn't be better—just steps away from great shops, cozy cafés, excellent restaurants, and convenient public transport links.
