• Lauraine (8/5): - The staff and location was great. The improvements I would definitely make would be to have at least two chairs in the room and increase the breakfast selections. Breakfast was pretty awful. One cereal choice one pastry choice, one juice and only coffee. You pretty much had a take it or leave choice. We left it.

Came back to find lights on that I didn't turn on and the window was unlocked(locked the night before), and things out of place. Someone kept jiggling my door handle. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well that night. Only security camera was at the front desk.
• Verified traveler (6/5): As far as comfort it was very disappointing. - We had stayed there once before ( with a nice stay), a few yrs ago which was why when we were going to be in that area I made the reservation there. Unfortunately even though the staff was very nice, even walking us to the room and showing us how the key worked in the door. And the room was very clean and quiet. I did have a problem with the fact that the bed was hard as a rock. I might as well have slept on the floor. My husband was so tired from driving 4 hours that he didnt notice till the next morning when he woke up. Also the way you switched the fauset to shower was strainge and there was no phone in the room so I had to walk out to the desk to ask how to turn it on. Also the cerial we got for breakfast (since that and sweet rolls was all they had ) was stale.

The staff was very friendly. The customer service upfront. He was very friendly, but the hotel itself really could use some updating For that price.

Their cold breakfast was virtually nothing just a pre-packaged roll and some orange juice that was about it. It definitely was not worth the price that we paid need to lower the price by $10-$20 I would say. I will say the staff was very friendly and had no issues whatsoever. The power was out when we were there and they actually let us go ahead and go to our room until the power came back on for us to get registered officially but that way we didn’t have to sit in the waiting room and wait because I just had surgery and wanted to relax

The remote for the tv was missing and lightbulbs were also missing.The breakfast was absolutely ridiculous. The juice was empty, the coffee was empty and the milk was lukewarm. There was cereal and waffle mix, but the waffle maker was very dirty. The breakfast attendant was nowhere to be found. We ended up having to go out to breakfast. Would not stay here again.

• Kevin (6/5): Hot room in Monmouth - On three occasions I went to the front desk for help, which is still behind solid glass from covid, and no one was ever at the desk I had to use a phone on the wall to get help. The first room I was given the AC unit wasn't working and it was close to 100 degrees outside. The hallways were hot as well. I was given another room and the AC worked well. The breakfast had almost no options yet the cost was over $100 a night. Probably will seek a different place to stay in Monmouth next time.
• Richard (6/5): - It’s a friendly place but dated and gloomy. It was clean enough. The breakfast bar is not great… waffles or cereal. Or a danish. Not much to choose from at all. It all needs to be updated. It has an indoor pool but we had no plans to use it. Comfy bed👍
• Verified traveler (8/5): Would stay again - We spent the night after attending a family event. Just needed a clean, quiet room at an affordable $. The staff was friendly and helpful. The king bed clean and comfy. The establishment is older but renovated. Our room provided a tv, frig, microwave, nice spot for suitcase. Bathroom and sink area were set up a bit oddly but clean. Coffee was good, breakfast choices limited but we were ok with that.

• Rocken (3/5): I was sleepless in Super 8 in Monmouth Ill. - The Value and that was all. The location to our event. The service was as if they were there only to take your money and give you a room. Not very friendly, glass partition at desk opening small slot to give out info very hard to hear them and what they were saying because the partition covered the whole opening at the counter. Smoke detector in room was beeping from 1 am to 3 am no sleep could not find the phone to call front desk. Pool area had a sigh posted in case of emergency use phone to call front desk by where the phone was to be but it was gone.

If you just need a place to crash for a night this place is just fine. Room was clean even good choices with Direct TV. The breakfast had just enough to get by for a quick meal which was fine. Checkout only required room cards returned to the front desk pushed under the mirror. Not sure what to think of it. One had to call for assistance if needed.

• Randi (5/5): Just pay the extra and go to any of the other hotels in this area. It is NOT worth saving a couple of bucks to stay here - The owner was the kindest gentleman, until my key kept being deactivated by my phone apparently and I had to have it reactivated. And then heard him talking in his native language to his family members helping him clean the rooms next to us. While he made the stay pleasant at first, it didn’t end up being a place I would ever go again. This is the nicest motel 8 in America. The pool room is locked unless you ask for it to be opened. You only get 2 cheap towels unless you ask for more. The pool was ice cold and awful. The breakfast is dollar store snack cakes, a waffle maker, 2 cereal options that were Raisin Bran and Frosted Flakes. And the coffee was only 3 portable containers. Old and cold is what I would call it. The room had soggy and wet smelling carpet. The air/heat sucked as well. The water turned out electric toothbrushes black with mildew and they were brand new when we arrived. The bed was ok but bring an extra blanket because theirs are a sheet, a fleece type, and then the top covering which never gets washed. We were there for 4days and witnessed their cleaning practices. Trust me they don’t get washed.

The breakfast provided was very sparse, so don't plan on a big spread for the continental breakfast. It worked for our needs.

• Adam (10/5): Quick Trip - Just visiting out daughter at college. Room was perfect. 3 queen beds for all of us to hangout in! Room was very large and very clean! We were able to bring our two dogs, just had to pay $25 per dog. Definitely will stay again!

Blanket had stains of I don't know what on them. Toilet barely worked. Shower had no water pressure. Only good thing was the bed was comfortable and the AC worked great.

When I got home my jacket that I hung up still had the smell. Other than that the bed was ok, the pillows were lumpy, the room didn’t have a coffee maker, but did have a fridge and microwave. The 2nd floor hallway smelled like weed.

• Tim (8/5): - This hotel is good for the price. Good dining is near but nothing walkable. Says more about Modern American road system than the hotel.
• Carla (7/5): overall, the stay was fine location was good and the staff was great - location it’s advertised having coffee maker in the room which wasn’t a huge deal since they offered it in the cafeteria it’s just a convenience of it. Place was a little outdated. Some of the stuff was broken in the room but overall it was OK.
