- Felice (8/5): Fantastically relaxed cottage in a terrific location - We loved the cottage - it was exactly what we were hoping for. In particular, we loved that it was so relaxed and that we could bring our dogs. We also loved the setting, with all the trees, and the fact that it had a washing machine (we had a baby with us). The fantastic little brewery directly across the road was a wonderful place to watch the footy outside, and the walk down to the Springs and Spa was just lovely. The local cafes and restaurants - all walking distance - were also terrific. We really enjoyed the fire every night, as well as the large tv. The cottage was so cute and cosy and easy to be in. Finally, we were so grateful to the cleaner who helped us getting out of the cottage with a small baby! Thank you so much for your kindness. We will be back! I prefer stainless steel to plastic cooking utensils, and there could have been another large saucepan, but that is a tiny issue overall!

Needing more windows with screens as we only found a small window in the lounge room and it was a warm day. Two light bulbs weren't working. Overall a bit shabby for the price.

- Annette (4/5): Great location, really old property. Do not expect to use the BBQ. - No breakfast, location was good. Property was really old, BBQ was disgusting, dirty and old. Photo shopped to look much better. Gardens were overgrown and trees were hanging over the house and the wind was so bad we were kept awake all night with the tree on the roof. Told the owner but could not rectify the problem for the next night. Asked for a early check-in, there was no one in the property, got a text at 1.55 p.m.

- Tyson (10/5): A cosy, peaceful cottage surrounded by trees, perfect for spring walks, with comfy beds, great wifi, - A small cottage, but one that somehow feels bigger on the inside — warm, gentle and instantly comforting. We visited in spring, when everything was green and alive, and the cottage felt like it was tucked right into the heartbeat of the forest. The log fireplace gave it that extra bit of magic, even on mild evenings. We brought my parents with us, and watching them relax, slow down, and genuinely enjoy the space made the whole trip even more special. They loved the quiet mornings, the easy walks, and the simple beauty of strolling along the lake. The bed was super comfy, the wifi was great, and being wrapped in the trees felt like the world had finally stopped rushing for a moment. Our dog was welcomed with open arms too, which meant a lot — it made the stay feel like home, not just accommodation. A beautiful little place that gave us all a few days of calm we didn’t realise we needed. Highly recommend. Some of the outdoor areas felt a little run down, particularly the BBQ and covered space, which looked a bit tired and weather-worn — likely due to the recent storms. It didn’t spoil our stay, but it was noticeable.

Host initially unhelpful and unpleasant to deal with and unempathetic to our situation travelling with a 93yr old parent with dementia. Took 4 hours before offering alternative accommodation on same site. Accommodation dated, external wooden stairs appear to need updating. Shower screen didn't close dropping out and washing machine in bathroom leaking water onto floor even though we didn't use it presenting some safety hazards

Plenty of kitchen equipment and bathroom supplies. Lovely to see kangaroo family with Joey's in pouch so close to cottage. Responsive communication. Enjoyable stay. Cleaning could be improved in bathroom, windowsills and skirting boards.

Being able to sit by the fire with wine (generously provided by hosts) family and our furbabies was a blissful way to spend the weekend. Lack of kitchen items was a little challenging. A few more bowls and a large platter for a charcuterie board would have made our stay a little more comfortable.

If I may make a suggestion, some sort of grip/rubber on the outside steps, as it was quite slippery with all the rain we had over the weekend. I would also like to advise, there was a tall glass tumbler that has a crack ... we did not do this. It was not noticeable by the way it was positioned; it was only seen when I went to use it and noticed. I left that glass alone

It was clean, warm and comfortable. Potential to waste water due to dripping taps if not turned strongly off. Timber stairs are showing signs of age and slippery when wet - potential for injury if not careful. TV is huge for the space - maybe just too big as it dominates the lounge room.

- Thomas (9/5): A wonderful weekend bush retreat in the peace and quiet of Hepburn Springs. - Nice touch: The host left a complimentary UHT milk in the refrigerator & a complimentary bottle of wine. The soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathroom was appreciated. The kitchen was handy to have as we had breakfast there. I was able to reach the hosts when I phoned him and he was helpful in resolving the query we had. Woodfire heater was LOVELY! A short stroll from the Hepburn Springs Bath house. A beautiful, quiet bush setting away from the quiet suburban street. It was a wonderful weekend away. Our stay was too short. The cheeky possum on the roof during the night.

- Marissa (5/5): Great stay, despite some cleanliness issues. - Location was great, value for money in area, communication was clear and responsive. Wine and Easter chocolates were a nice touch. Did not mind the rustic cottage vibe/furnishings but there were issues with cleanliness - property generally needed some TLC. Toilet had issues of continuously running (needs to be looked at), sewage smell in deck area (may be related to toilet issue), we found ants and worms in bathroom, dishes in cupboards needed a good clean before use (including dead bugs in glasses), dusty throughout -place generally needed a good, deep clean. We would recommend if these issues could be sorted for next time.

The building name-plate is hidden by bushes. A walk way to the Hepburn Springs Spa. After searching for it we found a sign covered by bushes, pointing into the bush. We could make out a very basic, narrow track that was overgrown, with a long broken tree branch and tree debris along what looked like the track. Along with this I remembered that summer is a high risk snake season. We did not use the 'track'. Use of the BBQ on the deck was also suggested in the email. It was obvious that it had not been used in a while and it was not clean.

Cottage provided everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Nothing. No fences for dogs but cottage was off the road with lots of space within property and around the property for dogs to enjoy.

- Nicole (10/5): Cosy and welcoming - We just wanted a little place all to ourselves that felt warm and homely and this place did that for us. The log fire keeps the cottage toasty warm and the autumn leaves all around us was beautiful. The steps up can be slippery in the wet but that was to be expected with where the cottages were and with all the trees surrounding them.

- Melinda (8/5): - Good for our needs. Liked being able to walk to the Springs. Easy access to other towns that we wanted to visit. We are pretty easy going and it suited our needs. Kids enjoyed the large TV!

Very serene, felt very homely However, understanding the age of the property, it needs maintenance - leaking taps, cracks and crevices through which loads of insects discuss centipedes galore due to gum trees around The insects crept into kitchen and bedroom walls too making youngsters worried While going to bed. We did not equip ourselves with lighters hence were unable to light the wood fire for heating but heating was good enough as it was not that cold. There could be extra bins in bathroom but we somehow managed Battery of clock had died down perhaps though it was not a major issue nowadays Provision of coffee / Tea etc was just enough. For two days and we had to get the rest from shops Key arrangement was excellent to operate. Overall excellent and rejuvenating experience ! Best wishes to owner and the Manager Krishnan Family

- Megan (9/5): A lovely relaxing place in Hepburn Springs - I loved everything! The cottage was perfect for my dog my partner and myself! The cottage was clean the beds comfortable and the spa bath was amazing!! The cottage is right across the road from the Hepburn brewery . The owners are lovely and friendly! The beer and gin paddles are amazing! A great weekend away!! Not much I didn't like. Maybe some glad wrap and baking paper and kitchen towels. But honestly I have nothing to dislike

My dog was sniffing under the couch and we found bones there. Long life milk was in fridge, and its “best before” was 2022, expired 2 years ago. DVD player doesn’t work. We came back next day.

- Jo (9/5): Surroundings so tranquil I felt my everyday stresses melting away the moment I arrived. - This was a very comfortable and clean self contained cottage, set in a beautiful and peaceful bush location. My favourite part is that the cottages are dog-friendly and Hepburn/Daylesford is a very dog friendly area. I found lots of things to do very close by that I could do with my dog, in fact I found myself staying right next door to the Hepburn Mineral Springs - a real bonus. (LOL, didn't notice that detail upon booking.) Nothing. My stay could not have been more comfortable, pleasant or easy! I highly recommend Hepburn Cottages for natures lovers who don't expect 5 star accommodation, and/or those with a furry family member.
- Peter (8/5): Great stay, would stay again. - The accommodation was clean, it was well laid out, beds were comfortable, having Netflix was a bonus, it had everything that we needed and was definitely dog friendly which was important to us. It even had a washing machine which I needed as I fell in the mud :-) There wasn't really anything which I didn't like about the accommodation, but there are a couple of things which need to be mentioned for safety reasons. The steps are steep and an additional rail against the house would be beneficial to help guests to balance when going down the steps, in particular, I had to go up and down the steps many times with two dogs, it was very difficult to balance. The boards on the lower landing are rotten and are breaking, this needs to be fixed asap, the sensor light only works sometimes, again a huge safety issue. The actual stay was great.

Would not do a long stay there. - Inside was cosy, comfortable & all dishes, utensils equipment for cooking stated in property description was there. Closeness to Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa was very handy. BBQ was Dirty, we did not use it. Outdoor furniture we also did not use. It was dusty, dirty & missing comfortable cushions. Our doona had no cover. No power points in bathroom for hair dryer, electric toothbrush, straightener etc
