- Rhonda (2/5): Don't do it! Pricey, filthy and reeks of smoke! - I have stayed in a lot of motels over my lifetime, and this one is hands down the worst I have ever stayed in. Don't do it! The entire motel smells of cigarette smoke from the second you walk in the main entrance. The rooms were not clean. Hair in the sink. Cigarette burns on the comforter, filthy toilet. Also, hotels.com does not specify if the room is non-smoking. We requested to switch rooms when we arrived, but were told no rooms were available. The front desk clerk was very friendly, but unable to switch our room until the 2nd night of our stay. I purchased an air purifier, which helped some, but also was an additional expense we did not plan on. We moved to a non-smoking room on night 2, and it was absolutely no different than the first night. The clerk also promised a suite with a king size bed, but did not follow through with this either. The 2nd (non-smoking) room reeked of smoke. They offered to give me 30% off on my next stay. I declined, as that helps them out, not me. Not only will I never stay at this Super 8 again, I will never stay in another Super 8 anywhere. In our travels home, we stayed at a Quality Inn for $40 less per night, and it is incredible! Super clean, inviting, great continental breakfast, friendly staff. Save your money. Do not stay at this Super 8. It was absolutely disgusting! I wish I would have thought to take pictures of our first room. I did take a picture of the toilet in our 2nd room.

- Amanda (10/5): Staff is amazing, we’ve felt so welcomed! - We’ve been staying at the Super 8 in Bourbonnais for over 2 months now and we absolutely love the staff - Suresh, Jaime, Mary Jane, Michelle, and Nancy are all great people and make great coffee! We’ve very much enjoyed talking to them and getting to know them. I don’t recall ever having an issue with any of the rooms we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in many of them! :) We’ve very much enjoyed our stay at the Super 8 and it’s been a great place to have called home over these last 2 months. We appreciate everything that’s been done for us, and we will continue staying here for as long as we’re needing to.

The pictures shown are nothing like the actual property-nothing shown in the pictures is true and this place is in need of much repair inside and out. The building has a terrible smell of mold. A room nearby had been smoking and we could smell it coming in our room after coming back from dinner. The pool was closed and no prior notice until you get to the front door. Water was dingy when turning the shower on. We wanted to check out immediately but there were no other hotels that had vacancy due to the local Universities Graduation-this the reason we were here-so we were stuck. Breakfast at the hotel was two choices of cereal and that’s it. I went to the front desk and the lady was very unfriendly-rolled her eyes at me and gave me a snotty sorry nothing I can do. This was the worst Super 8 we have ever experienced. I don’t know how the city hasn’t shut this place down!

I stayed for 2 nights but when checked in, it wasn't noted that I was staying over so the room was entered by cleaning staff (do-no-disturb was on the door). The carpet in the halls was so nasty it smelled like dirty feet and didnt look like it had been vaccumed in some time. The tv only turned on to one channel the infomercial channel. There was no wifi like stated online either. The pillows were so small and flat it was like sleeping with no pillow.

- Shannon (2/5): Buggy - We had cockroaches in the bathroom. I complained twice to the front desk & both times they said someone would call me & neither time did I receive a phone call. The sheets had stains & the room smelled very musty. Also the pool wasn't working.

- linda (2/5): Avoid, avoid, avoid this place, at all costs. - I will never stay at his hotel again. There was one staff member who was truly wonderful and I would like to acknowledge her. I wish I could remember her name. The room was filthy. There was no bed sheet on the mattress--they just threw a top sheet on it and tucked it in. Fingernail clippings, beads, the top of a razor were on the floor. It was disgusting. The manager was unprofessional to a degree that astonished me. This place needs a complete redo from management to the cleaning staff and anywhere in between if they have any hope of staying in business.

- Verified traveler (4/5): - The property is really outdated, rundown, and extremely dirty. We were in town for the US Tumbling and Trampoline State finals in Bourbonnais and this hotel was 1.1 miles from the competition, so we booked as things were filling up quickly. Upon arrival, we discovered the lobby was cluttered, dirty and unwelcoming and smelled of smoke. We were given a second floor room. The hallways were dim and dingy, and the carpet was completely filthy. The entire hotel reeked of cigarette smoke, and when we got to our second floor room via the stairway at the end of the hall, the room door had been left open and was unsecured. The exterior door at the end of the hall had a key card lock on it but that was broken so the entire hotel was left unsecured, anyone could have entered from the end of the hotel and accessed all of the hallways and room doors. The room was not clean, the bedspreads had stains all over them, the lampshade was broken and stained, the chairs were stained, the sheets were full of holes and cigarette burns covered the blankets, and we were in a non-smoking room. Best case scenario is that we escaped without bed bugs. With tax it cost me $105 for a 12 hour night's stay but we would have been better off sleeping in the car :(
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed in Kankakee hotel - The clerk at the desk was obviously having a bad day and told us the whole story of booking mixups for the day. She directed us on how to get to our room. The carpet was dirty, the lights were flickering. The security doors needed to be pulled close, which they were not, instead of closing by themselves. When we got into the room, it looked very presentable. Until we walked by the bathroom. The chemical smell was awful. We pulled the door closed and kept the fan on as long as we could. Not enough mooshy pillows on the bed, but the bed was very comfortable for the mattress. I would have to think at least twice before staying at another Super 8. Hopefully all their hotels are not like this one.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Buyer beware - The hotel is very dirty. No smoke alarm in our room, bathroom door did not close, pop caps and old candy on the floor. It smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Someone in another room was smoking pot and the second floor reeked. Breakfast was a package of oatmeal. Cigarette holes in the blanket and comforter. The was a dirty washcloth shoved in between clean towels. So disappointed in the Wyndham name.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Not that great of a stay - Reserved a suite with 3 queen beds, got called the day before stating room was not available. Gave me two rooms side by side. The overall price was not worth it $145 for two rooms. I would have paid maybe $100 for both. The rooms were not in the best of shape overall. And the lobby area smelled of cigarette smoke. I am surprised that there are hotels that still allow smoking in the rooms!
