• Felipe (5/5): El alojamiento no coincide con la realidad mostrada en las fotos - Las fotos de Booking no representan la realidad. Primero, la fachada que se muestra en la web en realidad es la parte de atrás (y es el estacionamiento del vecino y no un "jardín interior"). Segundo, el frente es una demolición, con suelo de tierra y paredes con humedad. Tercero, la cortina de la ducha tenía hongos. Cuarto, el mobiliario era todo antiguo. Quinto, al pagar con tarjeta de credito, cobran un 3,6% de comisión. En ultimo lugar, el desayuno no coincide con las fotos, y en realidad es muy simple y limitado.

Es war unglaublich sauber, das Frühstück war sehr lecker inkl. jeden Tag frisch gemachte Eier nach Wunsch und es gab genug Wasser für den ganzen Tag in Flaschen auf dem Zimmer. Frank und Ann sind zauberhaft. Ich hatte viele nette Unterhaltungen mit Frank und er hat mir bei dem ein oder anderen Problem geholfen. Ich kann mich nur bedanken! ❤️

• Kristoffer (10/5): Fantastic way to spend 7 nights in Kamala Beach - Ann & Frank use their separate competences to create a genuine visiting experience, but catered to a westerner customer with the essential needs that we care for. Thank you so much Ann & Frank! I hope we meet again! There is always room for improvement, but that would essentially lead to a larger price tag as well. The way it's set up now, you get an incredible value for your money compared to what's offered in the neighborhood, and with that you get a clean and fresh room, with working appliances. Some aspects of the experience is equally good to match any traditional luxury hotel, and some are plainly good enough to be absolutely acceptable for a couple of nights stay. I think the main thing that I would wish to see The Mareeya Place develop, is their own restaurant where we could also eat safely (because food poisoning lurks everywhere around here), but if i didnt overhear wrong, I think that plan might already be in the works.

Anne and Frank are truly the best hosts. Frank will support you with any questions you might have, and Anne is happy to help you plan your daily tours if you wish. The breakfast is amazing — the omelettes are simply the best! The location is also fantastic, very close to the beach. This was our first experience in Thailand, and we are very grateful for such a warm and wonderful welcome from the hotel owners. The perfect way to start our trip! Nothing! Everything was great!

• Françoise DURAND (10/5): - Nous avons vraiment été très bien accueilli. La famille au complet est très agréable. Nous avons pu être conseillés et aidés pour une sortie surl' île de Raya par Madame. Et Monsieur nous a demandé si autre chose nous ferait plaisir pour le petit déjeuner. Mais rien de plus car le choix est déjà bien avec des petites variantes cuisinées par Madame. La propreté de cet établissement est parfaite. L'hôtel est très bien situé pour aller à la plage et non loin des commerces et restaurants. Le bruit de la circulation dans la rue en soirée.

Vi hade utsikt över en ganska trist baksida och på framsidan ligger en gata med affärer och barer men vi blev inte störda. Vi var absolut nöjda, prisvärt.

• Elizaveta (10/5): - Спасибо огромное Фрэнку и Анне за такой замечательный сервис! Ощущение было, что мы приехали не к чужим людям, а в гости к дядюшке. Фрэнк очень радушный и общительный. Жили мы в 101 номере на первом этаже около кухни. Я сначала расстроилась, но по итогу номер оказался тихий и спокойный. В номерах все уютно, а главное удобно!! Все продумано до мелочей. Очень чисто, комфортно, не брезгливо. Уборка была каждый день. Нам меняли полотенца и белье. Гостиница находится на главной улице, но при этом в номере не громко. Соседей не слышали. Рядом 7-11, но так как это единственный магазин в округе, то там постоянные очереди. Просто имейте ввиду. Рядом пляж, массажки, все что хотите. Через дорогу мы брали байк в аренду. В день отъезда не могли сдать байк - ребята забили на рабочий день. Фрэнк нам помог отыскать хозяев и забрать обратно депозит. Завтраки тоже очень вкусные. Мы каждый день брали скрамбл и допы на шведском столе. Анна готовит очень вкусные завтраки, на выбор есть разные виды готовки яиц. Есть очень вкусные фрукты и главное! Вкусный кофе!!! Фрэнк оставил на ресепшен хорошую кофе машинку с кофе, которая доступна до вечера. И молоко в том числе. Мы в восторге от гостиницы и приема Фрэнка с Анной. Спасибо огромное!

• Olia (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here and would happily return. Frank and Anna are wonderful hosts, and their entire team is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very well equipped with everything you need: soap, shampoo, umbrellas, beach towels, beach slippers, a fridge, and tea-making facilities. Our room was spotless and cleaned daily with fresh towels and linen, which we really appreciated. We also had a balcony, which was perfect for drying clothes. There is in house laundry service available on site as well, which is very convenient. Big comfortable room with good furniture. Had aircon and fan which was so usefull. We had unlimited water supply every day. Frank suggested to stay well hydrated as it was very hot. We are very greatful for extra water, thank you :) The room also had a desk, which was very convenient for my working needs. We would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit and vegetables, toast, cornflakes, and delicious made-to-order omelets. There is a coffee machine too. (A small suggestion would be to have a kettle for tea, as the coffee machine only provides a small amount of hot water and you need to wait each time, and to include green tea and peppermint tea (caffeine-free options). We had a wonderful stay overall. Frank was especially helpful, he recommended excellent massage place, helped us with our heavy bags, and even organised a discounted taxi for us. We are very grateful for his kindness. Kamala is a lovely area to stay in. Everything is within walking distance: the beach, shops, cafés, restaurants, and fruit markets. There is even a Tops supermarket with European food. The only downside was that Kamala Beach water was not very clean/clear during our stay, with a yellowish undertone and some tiny biting insects in the water. Highly recommended. All was good.

They made every effort to make us feel welcomed - the breakfast was wonderful, rooms spotless, and location 11/10! Small touches like the extra water, beach slippers and towels, etc - were so thoughtful and went a long way. There are plenty of great restaurants, bars, and streets around to explore. We loved how close the beach was! Truly cannot wait to return. Thank you Frank and Anne! Your place is a gem.

• KATE (10/5): - Прекрасное и комфортное место! Все рядом: море, кафе, но при этом тихо. В номерах все удобно: вешалок достаточно, постельное белье мягкое, на балкончиках удобно сидеть. Хорошо, что они расположены с видом на внутренний дворик, а не на улицу. Завтрак отличный! Все было отлично!
• Raluca (10/5): Best in town! - We had a wonderful stay! Frank was incredibly friendly and kind. He gave us excellent recommendations for renting a scooter, places to eat, the best beach spots, and even helped us book a fantastic Similan Islands tour. He also assisted with arranging a taxi from Phuket to Krabi, which was quite challenging, but he patiently sat with us and made sure we got the best deal. Ann prepared the tastiest omelette for breakfast, which we really appreciated. The hotel was very clean and conveniently close to the beach. There are also restaurants and a spa nearby, which made our stay even more comfortable. The facilities were great. We had filtered water with daily refills, umbrellas, beach towels, slippers, and more. Overall, a truly great experience. Highly recommended!

Невероятно приветливый хозяин Фрэнк и его супруга Анна готовы помочь по любому вопросу :) Анна утром готовит прекрасные завтраки, все свежее и вкусное. Приятно видеть, как эта пара старается улучшать отель, принимают любые пожелания и предложения от гостей :) Wi-Fi может быть недостаточно быстрым, чтобы работать удаленно, но Фрэнк работает над его улучшением :)

Kamala itself turned out to be our favorite place in all of Phuket – relaxed, beautiful, and full of charm. The hotel is spotless, beautifully maintained, and truly had everything we needed: beach towels, flip flops, straw mats for the beach, and more – every little detail was thought of. The breakfast was delicious, housekeeping was exceptional, and we felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. But what really made our stay unforgettable were the hosts, Frank and Ann. Their warmth, kindness, and generosity made this more than just a holiday – it felt like staying with friends. They shared amazing stories, gave us fantastic local tips, and created an atmosphere that we will never forget. This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at during our time in Thailand – and we’ve stayed in quite a few! We can wholeheartedly recommend Mareeya Place to anyone looking for a welcoming, relaxing, and truly special place to stay. We’re already planning to come back – and we can’t wait!

The accommodation itself has a very cozy atmosphere, rooms are cleaned daily and staff is very friendly. • Mariia (10/5): A Hidden Gem: The Warmth and Charm of The Mareeya Place - The Mareeya Place caught my attention because of the unusual spelling of "Maria"—and since my own name is Maria, I got curious. We booked it for the last five days of our trip — we expected little but struck gold! This small family-run hotel, owned by Frank and his wife Ann, greeted us with warm hospitality from the very first seconds of check-in. The room was even better than in the photos—thoughtfully equipped with slippers, beach mats, towels, and a generous water supply (not just two bottles per day like everywhere else!). The air conditioning worked perfectly, and there was also a fan. We loved sitting on the balcony, eating fruits, and spotting squirrels.The inner courtyard was incredibly quiet—just as Frank put it, we were “living in the hole of a donut.” 😊 Originally from Australia, Frank was a fantastic storyteller. As an English language fan, I felt like he sounded just like a perfect listening task from an exam! We were really disappointed when we realized we wouldn’t get to say goodbye to him—he had been around so much at the start that we thought he’d always be there. He gave us amazing recommendations for local food spots, and the sushi was incredible! But Ann deserves just as much praise! She is such a sweetheart—helping me organize a surprise for my husband and showing me a perfect example of true Thai hospitality. Her daughter even made us a hand-drawn card—so talented! The entire team was incredibly kind, adding to the warm and relaxing atmosphere of the place.They are the heart of this place, and leaving was genuinely sad. We also used the hotel’s laundry service—it was impeccable! Our clothes still smell amazing, and they even sorted them by color in a perfect gradient— WOW! Breakfasts were great, changing slightly each day (egg bar, veggies, sandwiches or quesadillas, toast, yogurt, pastries), and the pineapples were absolutely delicious! If I were to be really picky, I’d say I’d love love to have some green tea as well.

To arrive with heavy bags after a wonderful but tiring day, have them immediately taken off your shoulders by the manager who was more of a super warm, welcoming host uncle and to be asked "what can I get you both to drink?" within two seconds flat made it hands down the best welcome ever.! The room was fab, bed sooo comfy, balcony amazing. Coffee, tea and waters in the room and kettle. Lovely bedside lamps and pillows. The little additions like flipflops, beach towels and mats to borrow were brilliant. The waterfall shower was fab and shower gel and shampoo supplied. The breakfast was great loads of choice and gorgeous coffee. Great location, felt like a village, fab restaurant over the road. 5 minutes to beach, lovely spa a few doors down. Frank and Ann defo win superhosts award if there was one. Nothing was too much trouble.had such a laugh with them. Top people and place. Nothing!

• Al (10/5): Great place close to the beach, with a personal touch - We stayed here for six nights and really enjoyed our time. Frank and Ann are very welcoming and were so helpful with any of our questions about the island and recommendations (which ATM to use, which ice cream shop is the best, etc). The location was excellent, with a short walk to the beach, 7-11, and so many restaurants near by to choose from. The breakfasts that Ann made were very good, as was the coffee. Ann even took care of our laundry on our last day for a very reasonable price. The cleaning staff in the hotel were great as well. The personal touch provided by Frank is very rare in this fast paced industry, and we certainly appreciated it. We'll always remember our time here. Also, shout out to Isaac for our fun chats. All in all it was a very positive experience, and we would definitely book this place again if we return to Phuket. We had an issue with the electrical in our room one day, but Frank handled it quickly and with his typical focus on customer service, moving us to another room to avoid any inconvenience to us. Honestly, I don't think I'd even rate this as a negative. These things happen, but what matters is how it's handled.

The rooms were spacious clean and comfortable and had all you needed. Fridge ,kettle crockery etc . We were given 2 bottles of water each day and also provided with clean beach towels everyday. Breakfast was simple but delicious and cooked to order.situated right in Kamala surrounded by shops,restaurants,bars and less than a 10 minute walk to the glorious beach where we spent most days ( I recommend looking out for the blue umbrella beach team it’s the second hut they will give you a warm welcome and are very attentive the whole time you’re there) I would also recommend Khokees restaurant which is also a 10 minute walk away they serve great food and are also very friendly. Thanks again frank and Ann for making our stay so special we shall see you guys soon 🙏😎

The rooms are incredibly comfortable with everything you could possibly need, and a lovely breakfast. Ann & Frank are tremendously hospitable and knowledgeable arranging local attractions and onward bookings. Faultless and best place to stay in Phuket!

Even the smallest details you may need have been considered. great location. easy check in & check out. close to markets, restaurants, beach. airport about 30 minutes by car. Unfortunately, the internet quality was low, we had difficulty connecting from time to time. Also, even small sounds from the next room enter the room (such as the sound of a dryer or TV).

Clean, spacious, everything worked well ie hot shower, good air con, fabulous coffee machine, good wife. Great location but quiet in the room, always a plus! Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Everything was thought about from beach towels to free water, to toiletries, to organising trips/transport. Nothing at all to dislike
• Eva (10/5): The best stay ever - We stayed at The Mareeya Place in May and had the most wonderful time. Frank and his wife are the best hosts ever, very kind, caring and helpful. The room and the hotel itself is very clean and had everything we needed. There is free machine coffee and bottled water available also beach towel and mat that was super handy. We were fortunate enough to be invited to the 1st birthday party of the hotel, again, we couldn't be more grateful for the great food, drink and hospitality. The place is very short walk to the beach and there are plenty of shops and restaurants around. When you book this hotel, you are not only booking a room, you are booking a full experience. We have extended our stay as we really enjoyed it. Thank you again for having us, hopefully we'll meet again in the future.

Great hotel, spotless & faultless, I would recommend to anyone to stay, and you will definitely not be disappointed. Perfect location, 5 minute walk to the beach & shops. Kamala is an ideal base for visiting Patong, Phuket, and loads of different attractions.

• bradf945 (10/5): GR8 gem of a hotel close to the beach very quiet @ safe. - I have been travelling the World for many years, the hosts are exremely helpfull, and the hotel is very clean and very comfortable, stay a week or a month this lovely little hotel is in a chilled relaxed area. Lots of GR8 restaurants and cheaper food too at the market near the beach. This accidental find prooved a god send and recovered a trip that started badly. My sinscere thanks to Frank, I`ll be back as soon as I can to this little Gem.

The location was really great Very close to the beach It's very close to all restaurants Downstairs, there is a nice massage salon 2. The owners are very nice and helped a lot with all our questions 3. There is a small library (books on the shelves) Several languages It was nice 4. Clean 5. Very quiet at night (it is important in Phuket) - 1. We had a very difficult way from Krabi to Phuket and the traffics in Phuket to get to our hotel, so we were waiting to get to the hotel and take a rest. We arrived and in our room (1st floor) a/c didn't work, also 1lamp was missing in the bathroom . Then they offered us the room on the 3rd floor, but there is no elevator , so we asked to get the room on the 2nd floor. Finally there everything was OK. But it took time and we were very tired 2. The breakfast was really poor It's better not to take it at all and go to eat outside No cappuccino there Very limited amount of food and drinks So it was disappointing for us (We've stayed at several places in Thailand, so we can compare). 3. • Jay_4_u (10/5): Amazing place to stay at Kamala beach. - Amazing place to stay if you would like to spend good amount of time near Kamala and Surin beach. Kamala beach is a beautiful beach to be. Such wonderful hosts Frank and Ann and their sweet kids. Very understanding and genuinely caring. Place is so efficiently designed and managed, and spotlessly clean and comfortable. Close to everything, just opposite there are many bike and car rentals stores, restaurents, bars.. the place is right on the road across kamala beach. We stayed 3 nights with kids from April 6th till 9th, and we were happy that we booked here. Frank helped us with scooter rentals, restaurent suggestions and airport taxi while leaving. Kamala beach is a more peaceful, tranquil beach compared to patong and karon and all. Please note, from here it took us around 15 to 20 mins drive to patong, 35 mins to Kata, and around 30 mins to Big Budha , Old phuket town etc by scooter. Drive is through coastal hilly roads.

• Anna (9/5): Comfortable place for a calm stay. I recommend. - Close to the beach. Enough space in the room. It has fan and also conditioner that is not freezing and not blowing specifically, so we had comfortable temperature to our needs. In all other hotels it was not good with conditioner for example. Coffee and tea sticks and 4 bottles of water in the room everyday. Also you can take water as much as you want. Free coffee machine as much as you need. Free mat and towels for the beach. Place to wash feet from sand. The hotel is operated by the owners and Frank is always there to help you. Beds are hard but comfortable. Just one thing is the breakfast. Cants say its bad but its like a little bit « dry ». I bought some vegetables on the market and took on breakfast . Also i don’t consume milk and meat. So i would be glad to see more vegetables, mushrooms, maybe a little bit potato. Instead of juice it could be water with fresh lemon, like smth healthy. Generally you wouldn’t be hungry unless you are vegan (like i prefer to be when i can). So some slight improvement of the breakfast would make the place perfect 😁 also internet has some problems. So if you work online during your stay it can be complicated.
• Gyorgy (10/5): One of the best guesthouses in the area - The beach is close, the pension provides beach towels. Breakfast also good, the coffee especially good. The bed comfortable and the room large enough. Shops, market are close. There is some extra fee at credit card payment.

• Denis (10/5): Exceptional - My family and I really liked this place. We’ve been there for 5 days on new year holidays. It’s very clean and spacious. Frank and Ann were very friendly to us. It was interesting to speak with Frank about everything)) Ann organized for us great trip to ethical elephant park and was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good with tasty omelet and toasts. Location is very good. It’s not far from Kamala beach (about 5 minutes), its windows look at the silent backyard so there wasn’t any noise. I would recommend this place to my friends.
• Colin (10/5): Highly Recommend - Stayed at the Mareeya for 5 nights over the New Year period and can highly recommend staying here. The owners, Frank and Anne, are so friendly and informative of the area. The rooms are lovely and super clean they have everything that you need during your stay. Breakfast is always fresh, and Anne makes great eggs. Coffee is good too, and also had unlimited bottles of water, which we thought was excellent. Although the hotel has bars and restaurants on hand, it doesn't stop you getting a good nights sleep. A few minutes walk, and you're on the beach. Frank went out of his way to help and assist. Thanks for a great stay. We will definitely be returning to The Mareeya. Nothing
• Mairéad (10/5): Home Away from Home - Frank, Anna and her mother made me feel so welcome and nothing I asked was too much for them. They took care of me so well between organising day trips, airport transfer and breakfast requests. The location was exceptional, 3 mins from the beach. Would recommend for a solo traveller or anyone looking for a home away from home.
• Joel (9/5): A great place to stay with lovely owners. A propert is a great location, and super super clean. Will stay again. - Very clean and lovely owners. Breakfast was great made by the wife. Proximity to the beach was also great. The Internet didn’t work well, most of the time I couldn’t connect to the Internet. Also. it seems that guests are allowed to smoke inside the rooms. We had a shared door with a smoker and all the smoke got inside our room. That was very disappointing. The other thing, I didn’t like was that the TV had no channels in English. No cable or satellite channels. I know the owner is working on all these issues as he is making improvements. Lastly, the lobby was closed at night, not sure the time it closes, but it took me as a surprised since it is categorized as a two star hotel. I see this property more as a bed and breakfast.

Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Big terrace, comfortable bed, etc. Hosts are very charming and welcoming. Good quality breakfast. I would stay here again with no doubts and would recommend it to everyone.
• Kevin (8/5): Great little place with awesome hosts! - Was a very short stay but I've stayed here before and its still great! Very good location but still quiet; nice big, clean rooms; and the best part - lovely hosts!! Make you feel right at home :)) Lack of immediate parking but there is a public one very close-by. No hot water for the short time I was there but not the end of the world.

Frank and his wife made our time in Kamala very enjoyable. They have thought in everything you would need to make your stay a good one! The room was perfect and had all we needed. Daily clean. They helped us also to organize transport from the hotel to the pier. We highly recommend it! And we hope to be there soon again. In low season they have the restaurant closed, but close by are a couple of good places to go :)
