Guest Reviews
- Stella (2/5): - One step above a hostel. Make no mistake what you are getting here! Staff is great. Rooms brutal, cold water showers, one was ant infested before we moved, beds brutal, restaurant never opened, pool great but swim up bar never opened. Once you realize all that then decide if the cost is worth it. Lots of lies in the reviews btw.
- Jessica (10/5): Small family-owned hotel - Everyone at Hotel Nany was super welcoming and made us feel at home. Especially Luis!
The food was amazing! Especially the tacos de birria and the breakfast. A 10 minute walk from Playa Conchal.
- maribel (8/5): - Es bonito
- Michael (10/5): - A Fantastic Stay at Hotel Nany – One of Costa Rica’s Best!
Our stay at Hotel Nany in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth and welcoming, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. The service was outstanding, with every staff member going above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.
The rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the pool area, which was beautifully maintained and a perfect place to unwind. The pool bar was fantastic, offering a great selection of drinks—many of which we happily enjoyed throughout our stay!
Having visited Costa Rica six times, we can confidently say that Hotel Nany ranks among the best we’ve ever stayed at. The combination of excellent service, cleanliness, and fantastic amenities makes this hotel a true gem. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Guanacaste!
- maribel (8/5): - Me gusto
- Jennifer (8/5): Brasilito Quick Stay - The room was very basic, but ok. The bathroom was a bit dirty with a pubic hair on the toilet seat. I couldn’t get over that.
The staff were very nice and helpful, the pool was nice, the food was average, and the location was good. Loved the music and vibe at the pool!
The restaurant got super busy and was understaffed at times.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was a mistake booking here. Next time I'll spend a bit more and stay in a nice hotel by the water. I hardly slept bc of the bed and a dog barking all night. 2 of the 3 girls weren't good. They only give 1 towel which is unusual for CR. Long walk to Conchal beach. Their restaurant was closed the day I arrived
- Gregory (10/5): - Hotel Nany was very nice for our several nights we spent in the Conchal Beach area. Property is a few years old but very well maintained. Our room wasn't swank but, was clean and efficient. Staff were all very nice and made us feel at home. The hotel restaurant was very good too. JJ was our server and was very personable and gave us some good recommendations for the area.Walking distance to Conchal Beach and, just a short drive to Flamingo Beach. There's a supermarket very conveniently located just out front too. Allison helped us at check-in and check-out was was very helpful.
- Enrique (10/5): - Very nice place
- russell (10/5): - Great little hotel breakfast included. Pool well maintained walk to beaches. Ac worked. English speaking staff. Monkeys in the trees next to hotel.quiet area
- Israel (10/5): - Goog
- Carmen (10/5): - Location and property was incredible! Breakfast was amazing. Room was comfortable, stayed nice and cool. Pool was relaxing, fun to listen and watch the howlers.
- Roel (8/5): - Muy bien
- Cierra (8/5): - Great location and nice/ fresh breakfast. The only thing I did not like was the bathrooms and setup (shower) and wish the room could have been darker. Other than that it was perfect. Close to the beach and stores, but far enough away from the noise at night. Would stay again!
- James J (10/5): Birthday trip 2024 - The stay was exciting, restaurants were good, beach was beautiful..
- katherinepN4274TN (4/5): Opinion - I liked that several beaches. I did not like that some people did not have the same treatment. I recommend putting more decoration in the restaurant, hotel and rooms, Also larger signs to find the hote.l
- tucumanargentina (10/5): Great family hotel. Quiet and tucked away from the busy road. Close to PlayaConchal and other great beaches. - This hotel had quite clean rooms. It was off the busy road. A beautiful pool that was meticulously cleaned daily. The breakfast was wonderful each morning. The rice and beans were delicious. Loved the assortment of fruit each day with cream. Hot showers too. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds.
We stayed there for two weeks and our family dropped in and out. It was a fun experience for everyone. No complaints.
We saw monkeys in the trees behind the hotel one day. We also saw iguanas on the property. This deleted our grandchildren.
We definitely would stay again. Loved the proximity to the beaches. Hope you choose to stay at Hotel Nany and enjoy their small family owned business.
PURA VIDA.
- Roger (10/5): Lo disfruté mucho - Excelente lugar. El personal muy amable, el desayuno rico.
- Gabriela (6/5): - Breakfast was filling and good. Parking and pool area were good, staff kind and helpful.
The rooms were very basic and lacked some cleanliness, bathroom had mold on the ceiling. Bring toiletries.
- Jimmy (6/5): - I'm dont like the staff and insecurity town1
- Greg (10/5): - I really like the pool area with swim up bar and the restaurant area. It is a cabana style open air with gardens and a strong tropical feel. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The play local music thru the day and their quiet time starts at 9 PM
I was pleasantly surprised, their breakfast that is included, is really good. They give you choices and they make it fresh for you.
Their location is great with walking distance to good restaurants and the ocean beach. Conceal Beach, of the most famous beaches in Costa Rica is right there
I highly recommend this place and definitely will stay there again. I really like the pool area with swim up bar and the restaurant area. It is a cabana style open air with gardens and a strong tropical feel. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The play local music thru the day and their quiet time starts at 9 PM
Their location is great with walking distance to good restaurants and the ocean beach. One of the most famous beaches in Costa Rica is right their
- Colin (10/5): - Aesthetically pleasing in ALL ways! Check-in was the easiest, and the room felt very welcoming. Everything went smooth with helping us feel accommodated. Perfect place for a great nights sleep. Beach was close enough to the location for a walk to. Ample amounts of restaurants near by to choose from. The staff was beyond friendly and easy to understand on either side of our language barriers.
The restaurant on site is amazing! Having this on-site was a mega PLUS! Their chef is a true boss and a pro!! Poolside seats at the bar, fooseball and Billiard table. The pictures don’t do any justice, this property is way better than the photos or reviews make it look.
MUST STAY! We will be back to this one! PURA VIDA!
- tokyovoice (8/5): Good mid-range hotel in Brasilito - This is a family-run hotel with comfortable rooms and a nice atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a nice pool, and the hotel is set far back from the road, so it’s very quiet at night. Wifi in the room was a bit spotty at times, but basically all right. The room was spacious and was cleaned daily. We stayed in room #29. The key to the safe did not work, and the window did not lock, but we did not have any problems. I would recommend that they provide liquid body soap as opposed to the tiny bars of soap in the shower. They kept the restaurant area very clean and disinfected; the staff all wore masks (if you’re worried about that kind of thing). Breakfast was all right. They offered a choice of either the “typical” Costa Rican breakfast, or fruit and toast. We requested eggs, fruit and toast, and they were fine with that. They also provided as much coffee as we wanted. Fresh juice would be nice. They organized a taxi to Liberia airport for US $70 which was good value. We paid $75/night as walk-in guests. We think the rooms are worth about $65, but we found everything in Costa Rica to be overpriced in general, so this is not a reflection on this hotel. They made you feel very welcome.
- 188rupertl (4/5): Poor. - We were put into this hotel after the (cheaper) hotel up the road accepted our booking but was full. The place seems half built and no clear differentiation between car park and hotel grounds. Staff were nice enough but this is a 30 dollar hotel charging 170 dollars for a family room. Really poor. I don’t get how in Costa Rica they have the nerve to charge so much for such a poor place. The cockroach waved us goodbye as we left. Cannot recommend. Look for places further along the coast in Portrero which is much nicer.
- Travis (10/5): Highly suggested - This is an amazing family ran hotel with a large pool with a swim up bar. Unfortunately the swim up bar was closed along with the steak house because of Covid restrictions. The family was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The hotel is also a short distance away from Conchal Beach which is probably the best white sand beach on the northern Pacific ocean side of Costa Rica. It was beautiful! Also their pinto rice was the best we've had this entire stay. Extremely tasty!
- ActionAdventure1 (10/5): Great for a Night or 2 - A perfect little getaway for a night or two, while exploring the area with your travel companion! Situated close to beautiful beaches, delicious restaurants and local crafted products by friendly vendors.
Priced accordingly, clean, safe and friendly staff.
- neocode (8/5): Simple nice hotel - Was in need of a place to stay after visiting the beaches and they were very accommodating at front desk
The room is simple but good enough and very reasonably priced.
It has a 15" big TV, beds with thin mattresses but good enough to sleep on. The bathroom is clean and shower has hot water (leave the tap running for little while)
It's very basic but you get what you pay for. The location is walking distance to the beach. There is also a mini-supermarket at the entrance and a rather expensive souvenir shop opposite!
All in all good place to stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, quiet close to town and the beach, good friendly staff, great place to stay
- mary (8/5): great Find - Location great! Easy walk to good snorkeling. Pool with colorful lights and bar fantastic! Cheery room. Saw monkeys in the trees while walking around the pool! Grocery store on site. The only minor inconvenience was that there was no shampoo in the room which when you first shower, is nice to know ahead of time. One younger staff member seemed surly but is the case in the U.S too. Overall great place to stay!
- Jorge (10/5): - In our recent vacation to Costa Rica we decided to stay at this location because it was closed to playa flamingo and conchal. The hotel was more than what we were expecting, the room had a nice space, super clean, nicely decorated. The pool had a bar which was amazing to have some drinks and food with my girlfriend. The stuff were super friendly and helpful. We will most definitely stay here again.
- Adrian (10/5): - Muy buena. Pasamos bien
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom located in the room had a water leak so, the bathroom floor was always wet, which we let the girl in the reception know, but apparently she already knew it and they did not fix it.
Also, the bathroom near the restaurant was dirty.
Breakfast was ok.
- Karen (8/5): Perfect location - Great location! Walking distance to the beach or restaurants. Friendly staff. Pool was relaxing.
Wished they had blankets.
- Caitlin (10/5): Great place to stay! - Awesome hotel in Brasilito! Short walk from the beach and great restaurants. Free Costa Rican breakfast. Pool. Spacious, clean rooms.
- ForesterClark (10/5): Nice hotel - This is a nice place. The grounds are well kept and the room was nice and clean. The pool was very welcome and it is a short walk down the road to the beach. The food was good as well and the desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The area next to the hotel is not the best, but we had no problems. It was kind of like a hidden gem, back off the road.
- Mark (6/5): Could use an update - The staff was friendly and nice, but the hotel itself is a bit run down. The pictures definitely look better than reality. The room was a bit dingy and had a higher than average amount of ants roaming about. Oh, and the mattress was definitely trash.
- Anthony (10/5): An unexpected gem - We made a very last minute booking and were not sure how it would turn out. We needn't have worried because it surpassed our expectations. The hotel is really nice and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was good and the pool was clean. Rooms were fine with air conditioning and hot showers.
Brasilito beach is not popular for swimming or sunbathing but a 10 minute walk takes you to the white shell Playa Conchal which is superb. A short drive in the other direction and you reach Playa Flamingo which is also great for sun and sea bathing.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again next time we visit.
- Michael (8/5): - This property was nicely layed out. Nice pool and swim up bar. Nice gardens
- goingpuravida (8/5): Simple but nice - Stayed for a few nights in the spring of 2018. It was the week prior to Holy week so things in the area were getting busy. Very simple rooms, bed, small old style TV (15 inches or so at best), bathroom with walk in shower, desk with chair and an open closet to store clothes and things. Beds were just ok, thin mattress, but got the job done. Since my trip was so short, I was busy and not in the room much, only to sleep so it worked out perfect. Staff was great and the restaurant served some great Tico food. The pool was very nice with a large swim up bar. For the price point, I couldn't have been happier. Keep in mind though that rooms won't accommodate more than 2 people and there are not any comfy chairs or couches to lounge on. Very friendly staff.
- jessican327 (10/5): Great Spot - We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. We arrived about 2 hours early and they let us check in right away. The room is very basic but it is what we expected for the money. The room had AC and a small fridge. I loved the pool and the swim up bar. The free breakfast was tasty every morning; they gave you two options and we always picked the traditional option. We also had their food for lunch and dinner a couple of times and it was good. The hotel is very close to a convenience store, and was a close enough walk to the beach. We had no issues during our 3 night stay here.
- mateuslongo (8/5): Good bang for the buck! - Pros:
The guys from the front desk were always very friendly and helpfull.
The Pool is nice and always with a good temperature.
The room was in a good size.
The hotel is close to the beach, even though we preferred going by car.
There are good restaurants close to the hotel.
The trees beside the pool were a good place to watch some Iguanas having lunch.
Breakfast is nice. There were 2 options: Gallo Pinto (tipical Costa Rica breakfast) and continental breakfast.
Cons:
The room was too close to the pool/bar, which means it is really noisy because of the music.
The mattress seems to be rather old/used and is not really firm.
Internet connectivity could be better.
- marycU5643AB (10/5): Great deal - Simple and clean room. Small but nice. Included a small fridge for stocking up with drinks from the adjacent store. Very quiet with great pool area. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Great deal for the money and wonderful people. Would definitely return.
- CatherineI_13 (8/5): Lovely spot. Great pool. - We had lunch here three days in a row. The red snapper is a must. The best we had. The swim up bar is a must and it's fun to watch the dog checking out the iguanas. The service is friendly and quick. Put it on your list for a lunchtime visit.
- theinspirednomads (10/5): Great staff, lovely place to solo travel! - This was the first hotel I stayed in upon my solo traveling in Costa Rica. To me, it is the people that make the place, and the staff at this hotel is AWESOME! I got friendly with several people there and enjoyed their company during meals and learned a lot about Costa Rica and their elections and tasted Vino de Colyal which is made from palm trees.
There is a lovely pool, and if you don’t wear ear plugs, you’ll love being awoken by the howler monkeys and birds which are awake before the roosters, lol! The property is surrounded by nature and you might see big geckos. They make great suggestions for tours if you need any, and help getting taxis.
The rooms are large, have air conditioning, and very comfortable and safe. Breakfast was huge, and all the meals were great, I especially loved the fish fingers. :)
Definitely recommend staying here!
- alejandroq2018 (10/5): Great hotel - Very nice place and staff is very friendly and helpful. Had a great stay and would recomend to anyone visiting with family or alone. The restaurant also very nice and food is delicious. Too much food per plate but not complaining about that.
- serialmodder (10/5): Haven of tranquillity, can't recommend enought!!! - Just spent five nights here and we were very happy with this hotel. The pool is fantastic, photos don't do it justice. Room was great and cleaned everyday. WiFi was excellent in all areas of the hotel. Very quiet and peaceful place well off the road with many birds visiting. Excellent location near playa conchal and brasilito and very close to a good supermarket. We especially loved the music played by the pool, very eclectic!!! Plenty of towels in room. Nice breakfast area by the pool.
The staff here are great and very conciseness, Tania at breakfast and Alexander at reception were very nice as were all other staff. A very pleasant stay
- elineo366 (10/5): Great hotel - Jose and the other staff are really friendly and kind. The rooms and the pool are clean and comfortable! A short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. They gladly help you with transportation or activities, just ask!
- MarkoL977 (8/5): Great stay in hotel Nany - Very nice hotel in good location. Rooms were very comfortable and the hotel staff was helpfull. Hotel restaurant served really good food. Pool was nice. If we come back to Brasilito some day we will stay in this hotel.
- Mike (6/5): Ok place near a nice beach. ok to rest your head. - This place is OK to Stay in - the family house, where we stayed was a bit run down and needed a little attention. It smelled a little stale and I needed to get some air freshener to get through our stay.
The houses size was nice - 2 beds in one room, one in another, a small kitchen and living room area.
The other rooms at the hotel, seemed to be kept up better.
The food was ok and reasonable priced. They delivered to our room.
All in all for one night it was fine, but i got this room on whim when we wanted to go back to Playa Conchal before our trip was over - a little more research would have had me try to get a little nicer place.
If it had a fresh coat of paint and little attention paid to it - it would be a great set up for families wanting to be short trip from the beaches near by.
It was nice to have a grocery store right next door.
- John (8/5): Great place for a relaxing beach vacation - Great place to stay.
About 2 blocks to the beach.
- Verified traveler (6/5): prisvärt budgethotel - Trevligt hotel me vänlig personal.
- Marvin (10/5): Agradecido - Formidable mente bien.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The facilities are basic but the swim-up bar and pool for my daughters was fun, and the staff was fantastic.
- Benoit (8/5): Hotel Nany - Mes premiers jours au Costa Rica. À proximité de la Playa Grande.
- tanya (10/5): Great Hotel - Beautiful hotel with pool. Friendly and very helpful onsite owners.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok, but bring your own plates! - In the main, our stay was good - The hotel is attractive and our room was clean. We were meant to be staying in two separate rooms but they offered us an apartment instead which we took. There was a small kitchenette in the corner of a bedroom which was equipped with saucepans but no crockery, glasses or cutlery. When we asked the man on reception about this, he was not very friendly and said we should have bought our own. He finally agreed to lend us a few items, but the plates he bought us to use were filthy! Other than this the hotel was ok, it was quiet at night and only 5-10 mins walk from the village centre and beach.
- KAATEA (4/5): - Not a lot of option in the city...
