Due to seasonal and regional challenges the small store and restaurant can’t staff adequately. Nice if you are seeking solitude, looking at the stars, etc.

Contacted Hotels.com and was told to call the owner, who did not answer that day/evening. We thus booked another accommodation. The following day we did get in touch and were told the cancellation policy was a full week. Spent >$400 without even a partial refund. Owner offered to move the reservation by a day but no partial refund.

Check in was efficient with very small amount of canned goods for sale. Weeds were 2 feet tall all around the cabin. No tv 2 nights in a row until I called. We thought we were getting a view of the bay but got a view of the house across the street. 1 lawn chair for 3 adults.

- Dan (8/5): - Lovely, spacious, clean cabins. The beds were very comfortable. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Things to improve: Stovetop elements didn't work consistently. No laundry detergent was provided. Long-expired pantry items (i.e. vegetable oil from 2023) Communication with the hosts was inconsistent. There were 2 Expedia chat channels (not sure why) but never received any responses from them in either. Perhaps it was a technical glitch (?) Some confusing information appeared in the directions for check-in and location info, directing us to a "Viking Lodge" instead of our Burnt Cape Cabins.

They offered us a room and their son's home in a in a neighborhood a few miles away. We decided to go somewhere else instead. When we tried to get our money back from hotels dot com , they told them we were no show. Luckily we had pictures to prove otherwise. If this happens to you, it could ruin your holiday.Be careful Go somewhere else.

Unfortunately the restaurant was not open, St Anthony is a short drive or the tickle on the way to the meadows.

Despite that the apartment was clean, modern, and well equipped. They should have been able to advise us back in January when we booked and gave us the option to look elsewhere.
- Lexanne (10/5): - - awesome location & views - very well made little cabin, comfortable and pretty - great front deck & chairs - couldn't figure out the Firestick TV - comfy bed & nice linens with lots of bathroom towels - a light under cupboards or over sink wb nice otherwise meal prepping in your own shadow - easy check-in, virtually contactless because the mini-mart never seemed to be open, so don't count on a convenience store - restaurant is closed too, perhaps it will open in high season but for now there's no restaurant in town - right next to Ecological Reserve, a great place to walk, but leave no trace, and to view Raleigh & maybe icebergs - shared shelter w bbqs and laundry building - wifi & cell service good - excellent value accommodations - l'anse aux Meadows 40 mins and Grenfell in St Anthony is 30 - I highly recommend this place, if you're looking for peace & beauty

The only issue we had was they don't sell Laundry soap and their solution was to give me a large bottle (no charge) and "Bring back what you don't use" .... I doubt that would happen anywhere else. The location was so quiet, relaxing and close to the various places we wanted to visit that we stayed an extra night. Great place

- Maria (2/5): - We had booked our stay several weeks in advance, but a few hours before we were due to arrive, we received a text saying that they had overbooked the cabins and arranged for us to have a room at their other property, The Viking Lodge. We drove there instead, but were extremely disappointed. This was a motel that has 2.5 stars, not the 4.5 star cabin we had booked. The room was dark and the bed unmade. I understand that mistakes can happen, but this was not an acceptable substitution. It wasn't even the king bed we had reserved. Since everything happened so last minute, we were forced to drive the 3.5 hours back down to Rocky Harbour for the night. This was so extremely disappointing.

We arrived late, but it was easy to communicate with the host, who made sure we had access.There is a small general store next door for supplies, which deals with minor queries about the property. (They replaced the batteries in the remote control.) Very convenient for L'Anse aux Meadows Viking site/museum and St Anthony's.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Camper Trailer? - Reserved a one bedroom cabin by the water. Upon arrival was informed we did not have a cabin and were to stay in a camper trailer. Was informed this was a hotels.com issue. We informed them and showed them our reservation for a cabin and were told none were available. After refusing to stay in the trailer as a cabin was booked they provided us with an apartment attached to the owners house away from the water. Disappointed we did not get what was reserved after driving hours to visit the area

I may have been there at the hottest it’s ever been there LOL. But it was hot AC would of been nice. Overall I liked the cabin. The lady at the store was really nice.
- Mary K (10/5): - Great little place for checking out the local area. We had a great time going to Anse Meadows Viking museum and on an iceberg tour. It was great to come back to this cute little cabin and have a quiet, comfortable place to kick back. As a bonus, our cabin had stackable washer and dryer. After a week on the road, it was a real treat to have clean clothes! Only downside: Wi-Fi was spotty. Otherwise, great place.

- Michael (4/5): Cabin or travel trailer? - We waited an hour for someone to arrive so we could check in. No big complaints about this, things happen. But once checked in, we were told that our "cabin" was actually an RV trailer. We were not uncomfortable although we did struggle with figuring out some of the strange technology inside a trailer, all new to us and no printed "hints" on basic things like how to turn on the heat. What bothered me was the misleading communication. (Compare the photo shown online to a travel trailer.) I would not return.

- Eveline (8/5): - Our Burnt Cape Cabin was a cosy retreat during a raging Newfoundland storm. Our only complaint would be the lack of comfortable seating in the living room. A two-seater couch and four hard backed chairs for three people.
