Guest Reviews
- Mrs. Nicci (10/5): Home in paradise! - The apartment was extremely clean and as described. Convenient to stores, restaurant and bars and is right on the beach. We felt safe walking around the area day or night. The hubby and sons enjoyed having the basketball court as they played everyday. The area can be extremely loud at night with the passing motor vehicles revving their engines and playing loud music but it didn't spoil anything for us. The building is secure as you need a key fob top get in and out including the pool and beach and there's always security 24/7. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Some suggestions, the sliding doors in the livingroom need replacing because they don't really close tightly and you can see the gaps between each panel which allows a lot pf the noise in. The roll up shades in the livingroom needs repair as well because you can't move them up or down. There are pigeons who nest and chill on the ledges so the windows and glass doors could also use a good cleaning. We had to purchase hand soap and toilet paper because 2 rolls would not have been enough for 4 adults for 4 days. I'd also suggest a few more wash cloths. There were only 2, thankfully a couple of us traveled with our own. The beach chairs were a plus except that one of them is broken but useable. Overall it was a great experience and we're already looking at our calendar to plan another visit!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Atea was great. Apt needs more upkeep overall things were good.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - did not get to stay at room booked was occupied they found me another room in a different building up thee street which was not pleasant
- Rebecca (6/5): - No sabian que habia reservado. Le dieron la habitacion a otra familia, pero me resolvieron en 2 horas y obtuve otro cuarto. Gracias!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beach right outside of your hotel door. - We are a family and thoroughly enjoyed the location of the Marabella. We stayed here for a few days prior to our cruise so that we would not burn going to the Caribbean. We were able to walk to the local grocery store and purchase food to cook for ourselves. Wifi and television worked excellent. It was a beautiful clean beach right outside and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool as well. Taco Bell and Walgreens as well as other places to stock up and buy pre-cruise items were easily available within walking distance. Our family would definetly stay here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): horrible 3 nights! - The complex is run down and dirty. The beds were hard as a rock and there was no hot water!!
- Nellie (6/5): Walking distances to Hotels, restaurants - Would recommend if hotel conditions stated would IMPROVED...Better sleeping mattress, Cleanleyness, Better House Cleaning.
Excellent Staff: Shout Out to Antonio, who took care of us and Security were Great.
- Zack (6/5): Nasty - It had potential to be nice but they did not clean the apt. (615) before I checked in... Sand in the bed, hair and soap in bath tub like someone just took a bubble bath and shaved, dirty towels... We had to wash sheets, pillow cases, and towels before use. Thank goodness they had laundry facilities
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not a hotel - Not an expected experience - *While there is a lot negative mentioned in this review, the owners did make things right and discounted our fee greatly, I do appreciate it...
We extended our stay after a 7 day cruise and it's hard to find hotels in Puerto Rico right now because of the hurricane, FEMA occupying rooms and it was a holiday weekend, we booked this "hotel" at 3pm - showed up at 6:30pm to find:
- This is an apartment being rented out as a hotel (similar to AirBNB/VRBO
- There is very few public parking spots unless you have a remote to get in the gate
- They had us go up to the room to get the parking remote to get in
- They didn't receive the Expedia confirmation in time to have the room cleaned
- Cleaners came for 2 hours while we waited for them to finish - finally told them we would make up the last bed after the sheets dried
- Cleaners had to take the parking remote, there was supposed to be a replacement the next day - we never received one and had to hunt for parking for 15 minutes each time we came back
- The cable boxes were missing from both TV's, so we couldn't watch anything
- There is a cable modem & wifi router but the router won't turn on, so no internet - poor cell service in the room we were in, so it was frustrating
- A staff member was supposed to come charge my card before our stay ended, he showed up after we had checked out, and couldn't figure out how to use the credit card machine, after an hour of him trying while we ate lunch I send a PayPal payment instead
- Alice (10/5): Anniversary getaway - Excellent location. Very comfortable and clean apartment, with modern furniture.
- Henning (6/5): Flott beliggenhet. Greie leiligheter, men du vet ikke hva du får.
- Elin (6/5): Nice view, but terrible area - The location near to Carolina beach was good, and the view over the beach was a plus. But we stayed here for 1 week, which was way too long time to spend in this area... We only found one good restaurant Al alambique, all others was only fast food quality. If you were to take a walk, the beach was the only nice walking route, but you got tired of it after 3-4 days. I suggest you rent a car and explore the island instead like we did (e.g. El yunque and the koisks in Luquillo) or take a bus to the nearby Condado.
The beach here is not even close as good as the ones on the nearby caribbean islands.
- Luke (6/5): ok apartment, great location - Con: I have stayed at a number of apartment rentals when I travel, so I know not to expect a hotel room, but this place needed some TLC.The room was in desperate need of a paint job. The front door looked like the door on a jail cell. The sheets were polyester, the pillows were the $5 pillows you buy at Walmart, and they were old and cheap. The dinnerware was all different sizes and styles. There were nice towels, but not enough for the week. They also did not give wash cloths. It didn't make sense.
Another problem we found was the lack of instructions given to us by the realty company. We arrived after hours, so we picked up our key from a lock box. A map would have been helpful to help us find the building. We had to ask a policeman. The doorman had to tell us how to get in to the parking garage. He also commented that the Green Island Realty never gave anyone instructions on how anything worked.
Pro: wifi was great, and everything in the room worked...with the exception of the sliding glass doors out to the balcony which would come off the track making them impossible to lock. The couch was very comfortable. It was also a real nice beach and pool. The parking was terrific.
Would I stay here again, probably not. I think I would look for an apartment in the same location, but from someone that was willing to make it nice for the renters.
- Sandra (10/5): I loved it - I loved every minute. Wonderful view. Balcony. Very nice people
- Anne Sofie (8/5): Fin badeferie - Vi hadde en fin uke før cruise fra San Juan. Alt var trygt og ryddig. Fin strand. Lite shoppingmuligheter i nærområdet.
