Guest Reviews
- Ofelia (10/5): - Staff was kind, room was great
- dr_ganlt (8/5): Simple Accommodation - The hotel is simple but clean and and well maintained. Big bed and comfortsble. Within walking distsnce to food outlets and cafe, massage parlours and shops. Breakfast is good and delicious cooked food. No lifts and be prepared to carry the luggage to higher floors if staffs are not available to assist deliver the bags.
- Ming17 (6/5): Average stay - Average hotel, there isn’t any lift so you need to lug your bags up. You may also get the bell boy to help.
Room was spacious but dated. No complaints for the price paid. Breakfast was okay, sufficient.
Location near to the night market, use the back entrance as it was nearer.
- S5407EVmartinl (10/5): 100% recommend this hotel in Chiang Rai - I like this hotel. The staff are lovely and helpful, and the breakfast is good enough. It is excellent value for the money. My room is spacious, light, and comfortable, overlooking the pool. The location is close to town, making it easy to walk. It has a nice ambience. I would 100% recommend this hotel.
- R3254CGmonikaj (2/5): Mosquitoes and mold in the bathroom - The room was full of mosquitoes, the staff gave us a spray and were not interested in dealing with the problem. The bathroom had mold and mildew around the sink and in the shower. We escaped from the breakfast restaurant in the morning because of the huge number of mosquitoes. Not recommended.
- Alex (4/5): - The pros- clean room, nice employees, walkable to the night market and other key points of interest.
The cons- Rock hard mattress, the bed was on a platform that made getting in and out of bed very awkward, the noise... Oh my goodness, the noise was terrible. I could hear people in the hall, people in the courtyard, the plumbing, the squeaky floors, the beeping door alarms... This was a very uncomfortable stay overall and I was wishing I hadn't paid for all four nights by the morning of day 3.
- Blanca (10/5): Hotel recomendable - Trato excelente
- 336niamhd (10/5): Wonderful - Attended a fabulous wedding last weekend in the Diamond Hotel, Enniscrone, really clean rooms , food was excellent and staff could not be friendlier. The music was great fun especially the entrance dancing! Hope to return soon. Thanks. ...
- racoon71 (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - The rooms are simple and basic. It has the prerequisites. Air con, decent shower and toilet. Television and a closet
My only complaint is the mattresses. They are too firm for me. My Thai partner said they were normal.
Good water pressure in the shower. Hotel breakfast was surprisingly good.
Would return. Would recommend. But wouldn't stay for a week.
- BobC655 (6/5): Marginal - A five minute walk to the night bazaar was the best feature. Not that it was bad, but the restaurant was not open for anything except breakfast unless you were in a tour bus, which seemed to be the lifeblood of the place.
Room was good.
Pool area meh, with no service and few chairs.
Staff was nice and helpful however.
Probably would skip if we were back in CR.
- Anthony (6/5): - Property should be 3 star at best. Fake orange juice and cheap products for breakfast think they are dying as a hotel and trying to cut corners. No lifts. In need of a major refurbishment everything to old and a little run down. I can see it might have warranted a 4 star 10 years ago but by todays standards its not up to the quality of a 4 star or of 4 star service. Leaky bum guns. Lights that do not work. Old aircon systems. Bed was clean but linen marked.
- Joseph (10/5): Good value, and conveniently located - My Thai wife and I stayed at the Diamond Park Inn a year ago and decided to return this year during a short visit to Chiang Rai. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and the hotel is very reasonably priced. It's not directly in the middle of the night plaza area, but still within walking distance, and it's quieter than right in the heart of that area. The pool is nice and the staff is friendly. Our room had a minor plumbing problem in the toilet when we checked in, but a maintenance man came right over and took care of it with no delay. The breakfast area is very pleasant with seating both in- and outdoors. While the breakfast isn't exceptional, it is more than adequate, and the coffee machines brew very good coffees, cappuccinos, etc. All in all, the Diamond Park Inn is very good value for the money.
- Mahmoud (8/5): - In whole all was satisfactory
- Martin (10/5): - Good value …nice pool and short walk to the Night Bazaar.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet and nice landscaping hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value - We had a very nice three-night stay. The double room we wanted wasn't initially available but the hotel nicely moved us to the double after our first night. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel is actually a closer walk to the Chiang Rai night bazaar than the guides indicated. The pool is nice, the staff helpful, and the included breakfast was also better than we anticipated. All in all, great value for the price; we would stay there again.
- Mike (8/5): - Excellent place to stay for the money. Only had one problem. No elevator and I was put on 3rd floor. If you don’t mind walking 3 flights of stairs coming and going, fantastic, quiet place.
- Rhett (8/5): A nice surprise - I nice surprise in the middle of nowhere in Chiang Rai. The “resort” has a number of buildings, a really nice breakfast restaurant and a great pool.
Bathroom was nice, room was ok (bed was a little firm) and couldn’t ever actually work out how to turn the a/c off. All up these are first world problems. I don’t expect much but was pleasantly surprised.
- AMIR (10/5): - The property was out dated and old, but very clean and nice staff
- barryh67 (2/5): Avoid Avoid Avoid - There are so many better hotels in Chang Mai, after 7 visits and 6 months in Thailand by far the worst hotel I have stayed in
Large impersonal used mainly by noisy large tour groups tired facilities and a terrible breakfast
Room was invested with mosquitoes
Our roomon
Our room on the ground floor had a flimsy unlockable opaque glass sliding door, with no safe in room no security for valuables, door let light in from outside, had gaps for mosquitoes and noise came through from tour groups way past midnight
Terrible nights stay
- sorc441 (4/5): Average hotel - Diamond Park is located on a hidden alley, away from the noise, but not that far from the centre and night market. The alley has a lot of small restaurants and guest houses, so the walk to the center is quite pleasant and it takes about 10 minutes.
The room we had was clean but old and dated, the breakfast is very poor in choices for those that prefer a Western breakfast, and the coffee is absolute garbage. I tried all their machines, and coffee had a strong taste of mold. I don't know if it was the water, the pipes, the coffee... but just terrible. Thankfully, there are plenty of cafes closer to the night market.
Is an OK-ish choice for 1-2 nights, but if longer, try something else.
- S3755JVsharond (4/5): Accommodation - Hotel rooms clean and staff are helpful. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. Large hotel that has a high turnover of guests every day. Meaning large buses arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning. If staying more than one night and you would like a sleep in past 6am this is not the place. Beds and pillows like concrete and breakfast great if you like Chinese takeout.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check-in was fast.
Close to a 7/11.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Delicious breakfast buffet.
Super clean rooms and no mosquitoes in the rooms.
- Pai Chuan (8/5): -
- Mike (4/5): - Pictures far from reality!!! The toilet is inside the shower!! And the shower was clogged, everything looks old in the room. Restaurant is clean and has a nice breakfast buffet.
- HuggieSRL (4/5): Not Thailand's finest hotel - Definitely the worst of the six hotels I stayed in on this holiday. The rooms are outdated and have no good facilities. The pool area is not at all nice and the pool furniture is old. The breakfast was pretty bad too. I was quite surprised just how bad it was. The fact that it was clean saved it from a one star rating.
- Claudie (10/5): Top - Très bien, bien placé, piscine agréable, je recommande !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - While the hotel was nice enough and pleasant, the pool was good and the room was cleaned. The breakfast... well the eggs every day were cold. The Asian food was always hot but the eggs where cooked and left out, unlike alot of hotels I have been too who cook eggs on request. Room was ok, had free water, toiletries and fridge. No in room safe though
- Wan Pow (10/5): Comfortable 2 nights stay. - Value for money. Breakfast was good. Down points are, a bit far from shopping mall, night market & walking streets , also no hot water for showers in morning before checkout.
- fishtraveller (2/5): Appalling hotel - Google and Agoda map coordinates are totally wrong, so I wasted 45mn driving around looking for the hotel. "Superior" rooms are old and substandard. Nearest phone charging plug to the bed is 2 meters from the foot of the bed. Bathroom doors are only 1.80m high so you cut your head on sharp metal but they don't care. Room service non-existent. No free coffee or tea in the room, but there is a kettle and two cups. Bed is hard as nails. Front desk staff useless and unfriendly. Breakfast disgusting. Fly in my machined Caffe latte. Never again!
- Robert (10/5): Well rested and a delicious breakfast - My wife and I had been traveling for 56 hours by the time we arrived at the hotel by taxi sometime after eight o'clock in the late evening. We booked this hotel almost a week before. Our journey to our destination was still to continue the next day and we knew we would need a good night's rest after sleeping in airplanes and airports.
We liked the hotel and we awoke the next morning refreshed. Breakfast was included and it was a delicious breakfast buffet. Many choices. Clean. Good service.
If the price is right again as it was when we booked for this night, we will stay again.
- Lynn (2/5): The worst hotel we’ve stayed at! - Read reviews about this hotel and people gave it an excellent. Not sure if we were in the same hotel. The Hotels.com pictures do not match the room we booked. The room was old, dark and worn. There was only one plug that worked with no lights around the bed. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink. That’s just the room! The staff were really poor. No quality customer service at this hotel. They never acknowledged our presence; not even when we left did they look up from their phones.
The hotel catered to large bus tours and if you arrived for breakfast at the same time as the tours it was loud and chaotic. There was no Western breakfast other than a dried up fried egg that looked like it had been cooked days ago.
This was by far the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in! We had pre-paid, big mistake, so we couldn’t leave. We left anyway after the third day and went down the street to a nice guest house. Not worth the price!! Hotel.con should review their pictures of this hotel.
- RaeblevarT (10/5): Very nice stay - Very clean and quiet hotel with helpful staff and swimming pool. Nice room, although the room is somewhat decrepit. Huge breakfast with very large choice of tasty food (Asian and European) and fresh brewed coffee. Worth the money.
- Bbkad (8/5): Good experience - Did not spend much time at the hotel but it was worth it for the breakfast and welcoming staff. Recommend it for overall for the trip ! Visit is surprisingly varied and the ambiance is worth the try. Go and be surprised
- Sa3p (10/5): Great hotel in perfect location! - We stayed here for 2 nights, the staff were fantastic and very helpful! We requested an upper floor room but there are no lifts which is no problem for us but the staff carried our suitcases up to our room for us. The buffet breakfast was very nice. The room was very spaciouds, clean and in great condition. The hotel is in a very quiet street but only 5 minutes walk to the main highstreet, bars, restaurants and bus terminal. We did not get chance to us the pool but it looks beautiful!
- Jonathan (4/5): I wont return to this hotel, better value elsewhere - Very basic room, no info about hotel or ChiangRai in the room.
No lift is a major drawback and why I will not visit the hotel again.
Doormen very friendly, checkout staff poor.
Hot breakfast food was all cold, not worth the money
- ZeeJ2805 (4/5): Standard - nothing special - Good rooms but where we were placed for 3 rooms(2 on ground floor and one above) :( no lifts!
Looks good from outside but view from the room wasnt very nice. Tissue paper in the bedroom is actually a toilet roll :)
Breakfast was basic and staff were scarce. To be fair, it's probably good for a 3 Star. I would look for somewhere else to stay if i go again.
- 937campbellc (2/5): Not 4 star, misleading pictures. - We booked via booking.com for 5 nights but changed it to one once we saw the room, bed was harder than a concrete wall, bathroom doors wouldn't shut (we saw 4 rooms in total) air con units were old and sounded very tired, poor lighting in each room, bathrooms were very dated and had gross shower curtains. Two positive were the staff giving us a refund and the pool was nice.
- David (8/5): Cleaners wait until 9am. It’s our holiday - Nice place to stay and outstanding to bring family to so much room around the hotel to kick ball maybe and the pool was great size. Staff seemed friendly and happy. Breakfast was better than most places I’ve stayed in Thailand. Good location being close enough to walk yet far enough away from all the noise. I have only one problem and it’s seems to occur often is the cleaning staff are not taught to respect the guests with the noise they make. I think 6am in the morning to be calling out joking in the corridors on the two way radios waking guests is truly unacceptable. Seems they want to wake you to get you out so they can clean. They do not try to be quiet. Quite the opposite.
- mogensl893 (2/5): One word : Terrible - Well even though we showed our voucher the reception staff who couldn't barely speak or understand English told us that we had to pay for breakfast for our children. The voucher stated that we had paid already for the family. The staff didn't really care. The just smiled.
Just stay away don't get robbed by them.
- Judy (10/5): Nice hotel, good facilities - We spent a night at Diamond Inn on our way to Laos. Close to Bus Station 1, comfortable room with lovely swimming pool, easy to walk to town centre and nearby restaurants.
Easy check-in process, friendly staff
- Dao1949 (8/5): Good Hotel in Chiang Rai City Area - It's an older hotel but has wonderful grounds and good facilities and staff! The room was dated but very spacious and quiet on the third floor. The bed was big but hard mattress and the room was very clean with a good bathroom. The breakfast buffet was average for western foods but probably better for Asians. Located about 600 meters from the Night Market area that has many wonderful local venues and restaurants! Overall, it was a good value and conveniently located for our 2 night stay!
- Vicki (8/5): Location is perfect - Although the staff on reception could have better English, they were friendly and happy. The location is perfect and everything is very clean. I would definitely stay here again.
- JensN585 (8/5): Ok but starting to feel old - Room is okey but it start to feel some age. Nice swimming pool but dangerous stairs at the kids side. Breakfast good. Reception staff very confused at checking/payment. Got two dubbles instead of family room.
- Mark (8/5): - The hotel was very good and nice to have a pool on the crazy hot days. A little walk to the down town, through the back street / alley but all was good.
- Werner (8/5): - The hotel is a nice place with a breakfast with a big variety. They only had one night lamp and that one didn’t work.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 黑店 - MOB5
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel close to downtown - Excellent service. Nice breakfast. Room is nice and spacious. Mattress is hard
- kaz (2/5): Very old hotel - Very old room and equipment was poor
It room's value was about 500THB level in Thailand
- diamond (4/5): A stay - A bit disappointed
- Gek Neo Agnes (4/5): - The toilet is slippery as no partition it is so wet. The mattress is uncomfortable and the bedsheets and pillow cases worn off
- Ming Chak (8/5): clean and tidy - amazing place
- Kenneth (8/5): - I was not happy with the wardrobe, it was to short to hang clothes and there are no draws for underwear.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - staff was good, but the walk to town is about 15 mins in dark street
- Micheline (8/5): Oasis from the heat. - Hotel very nice. Well kept. Mattresses though we're on a platform so it was not easy to get in and out of bed. But they were firm, which I like. The pool was great to cool off from the heat. They had a restaurant. Breakfast was buffet style. Ok. We had dinner the first night and it was so so. Very quiet neighborhood.oasis
- Gek Neo Agnes (6/5): Our stay - We have stayed here before, nothing fanciful, just an overnite stay is OK. Don't expect to much.
- STEPHANE (8/5): love That hôtels - Very Nice hôtel
Buildings Park swiming pool Rooms restaurant superb
Situation idéale
Price very good.
Wi-fi no good.tv no good: no choice BAD quality
Bathroom:could be better no hot water to shave littlbit too old
- Wayne (8/5): Great value for money - Nice and central location. Nice pool great breakfast. Very helpful staff. Great value for money
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - The hotel is clean, near to the night market.
- John (6/5): Big, clean quiet room + pool in city centre. - Good clean room in a quiet area about an easy 10 -12 minutes walk from Night Bazaar. Plenty of parking and nice pool.Better if you are driving otherwise a little bit out of the way unless you enjoy walking!
- Gek Neo Agnes (6/5): An experience stay - We feel this is a budget hotel so not much can be expected. It was just for one night it is ok, not acceptable to stay more nights.
