• Dinu (9/5): Liniste si relaxare - Hotelul este unul foarte dragut si simplu, mancarea exceptionala, personalul extrem de prietenos si dispus sa te ajute. Amplasarea direct pe plaja este principalul motiv pentru care l-am ales. Mi-as fi dorit sa avem si un balcon, iar la baie nu exista nici cada nici cabina de dus, ar fi bine daca s-ar pune macar o perdea.

• Seydou-Sibo (9/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at Batuta Maldives Surf View. Starting the day with breakfast right on the beach was perfect. They also have fresh coconuts available for a small fee and sun loungers directly at the beachfront, which makes relaxing very easy. ​I highly recommend booking the beachfront room with a sea view – it made the experience special! ​A huge thank you to Ibrahim for the great organization. The tours were well-planned, and he was even flexible enough to arrange a drop-off at Dhiffushi for me after a snorkeling trip. I would definitely recommend this place for its unique location and friendly vibe! Compared to newer or more modern accommodations nearby, the price felt a bit high for the overall standard. ​I noticed significant price changes on Booking.com and realized there was no real advantage to booking early. This seems to be a general trend for the Maldives, but it made planning more difficult.

Voor mij is all inclusief dat je kan nemen wat je wilt,eten kon je 3 keer per dag maar wij hebben alleen 1 keer avond eten genomen en dat was ver onder de maat ,hadden ook maar 2 keuzes pfff. Foto's die jullie op je site hebben zijn 10 jaar oud denk ik,ze zijn al 7 jaar aan het bouwen vlak ernaast aan een appartementen complex. Wat overdag alleen maar hak en breekwerk opleverd. Dus zou graag een officiële klacht bij jullie willen neerleggen en foto's willen sturen over hoe het er werkelijk is. The staff picked us up at the port and helped us take our surfboard bag up to the room for free. The daily cleaning is ok. Thanks for your hospitality on our first stop in the Maldives! The accommodation requires a renovation and the addition of some stylish details.

• Mariyam (3/5): Poor - We paid full board for a Seaview room. Dont trust the pictures here, the hotel is run down, old and rusty. We got a standard room with no balconies or sea view. We paid for full board, but we ended up paying for all the drinks that came along at meal times. This place is a scam. And the exchange rate is 19mvr.

The dining area is not too nice which is a shame because the location and views are truly fantastic. The room was very small but had everything we needed. If they work a bit in improving the communal areas the place will be amazing!!!

You can watch the sunrise right outside the door There is a new hotel being built right beside it at the moment which did mean there was some noise during the day. Not a huge issue and there is plenty of space further down the beach if you want to escape the noise.

Always have g - Property gives the insight of a home rather than a hotel , so feels like a home at a leisure place. I liked the sea facing room on 01st Floor . Ground Rooms are not bit airy .

• Ines (4/5): Disappointing - Upon arrival at the guesthouse, the staff asked us to pay extra taxes on top of the original amount shown on Booking.com. When we specifically asked for an explanation of why we had to pay these additional charges, which were not mentioned anywhere, they showed us the total with extra taxes handwritten on the receipt, despite the fact that the original booking clearly stated that taxes were already included in the price. Essentially, they use a lower price on Booking.com to appear competitive and then ask guests to pay GDS and local taxes that they should be covering themselves and that should already be included in the final bill. Very poor understanding of english and absolutely no customer service skills—their approach is simply 'pay or leave'. A friend of ours asked to add an extra person and she was charged $50 per night. She asked for something specific about it but was only pointed out $150 in total per 3 nights, no official extra person tariffs but only handwriting extra on the grand total bill, which is insane. Moreover, the staff barely understands english and the General Manager, who acts like he has nothing to do with the guesthouse, turned out to be the person in charge of everything running around. (Watch out for him even though he play cool and friendly). We agreed through, to do a boat excursion for 50$ on the second day, yet we ended up paying some unmentioned extra taxes on top of the original agreement. To cut the story short, they are used to getting away with extra charges as people on holiday don't want to drama and check the bills properly, they show no mercy, you either pay what they ask you for or you are left last minute without accommodation.

• Anna (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend to a friend. - Good location on bikini beach, they sent a buggy to meet me at the speed boat dock. Really disappointed by Batuta. High price point and not the quality to match. I originally checked into a room filled with damp and the worlds most depressing window - after complaining I was moved to Batuta Inn which was nicer, but off the beach with no view and construction work happening nearby, so not what I had paid for. Everything seemed like hard work for the staff, as if I, as a paying guest, was an inconvenience.

• Rebecca (9/5): An Affordable Slice of Paradise - Ok, I'm going to address the improvements this hotel has done based on all the negative things I've seen in the reviews. First I will say that I have lived in Oman for 14 years, so I'm used to the common building standards of the region (especially in regard to bathroom type) and the challenges posed by high humidity. Here goes.... 1. The breakfasts were varied in some way every day, and we requested our eggs made different ways also. 2. We found no mold in our room. 3. The payment when off without a hitch with no overcharging, room-switching, or lack of awareness of said payment on arrival. 4. There were plenty of sun beds. We were always able to snag a couple at the beginning of the day German-style with our towels. 5. The staff were all helpful, from excursion arrangement to cash exchange (dollars to rufiya really helped one employee out). 6. Our windows had locks, and the aircon worked fine. 7. The bed had a nice duvet with a fluffy comforter inside. 8. There weren't umbrellas, but we prefer being under all the trees in front anyway. Better shade. 9. There were soaps and toilet paper on arrival. The room had even been cooled off with the aircon. 10. Reading about communication issues, I contacted them via WhatsApp (from their website) to be sure we would have a ride when we got off the boat. No trouble there. 11. We booked a room with a double bed and a sea view, and we got that room. The room next door to us, though, had two twins pushed together, so we would have been less happy in that room. 12. The shower was fine once you learned how to work it. There's a cold one for rinsing off, and there's one attached to a small water heater; we learned to adjust that heater's dial to the heat level we wanted about halfway through our stay. We really could have just asked.... 13. Our room was cleaned daily, and the towels changed. Nothing. We wanted an affordable Maldives vacation on the beach with a sea view, and this hotel delivered. The faults mentioned in previous reviews were almost all addressed by the time we got there. We were happy enough, already used to issues like limited wifi and ever-present construction sites. We will be back. One tiny issue: if you eat at their restaurant, paying in US dollars costs you less than paying in MVR. None of the other restaurants nearby did that. The food was good, though, and we just used our card when that issue became apparent. It is worth noting that we got the best room there, probably. So just be sure what you're booking.
• Sophie (9/5): Perfect guest house in Thulusdhoo - Perfect place to stay in Thulusdhoo, on the bikini beach ! Breakfast was slightly different each morning which was great and very tasty. The staff were very helpful at all times also Nothing!

• Joana (6/5): Beautiful beach and good view (first floor). - The hotel is located directly at the beach, thus perfect for your beach holidays! We stayed here two times: The first time we had a very nice room on the first floor and were happy with it. The second time we had a different room on the ground floor, which was less nice since it was wet, a bit mouldy and didn’t have enough hooks on the wall. Water dripped from the roof when it was raining which bothered us a lot because our stuff and bed got very wet. The staff is friendly. The transport to the harbor and back is very good! For maledives its rather cheap also. The breakfast is simple but okay. The room on ground floor wasn’t very comfortable.

• Laky (5/5): Get what you pay for. - The staff were brilliant! So helpful, and friendly. Honestly made me feel welcome. The beach is right outside the hotel, which is fab, and the beach is amazing! The room was big, but it as very outdated, the bathroom was grubby and mouldy. There was a lot of noise from the lobby all night, which made it difficult to sleep. There is also construction going on next to the property, which goes on until around 9pm everyday. The works look like they should be finishing in a few months though.

Great sunbeds available for guests on the beach, right at your doorstep is the ocean and many water activities. We booked the turtle snorkel through them which was great. A bit outdated building and rooms. It’s hard to keep damp out when it’s so close to the ocean, it’s understandable… but overall it was clean.

• Graham (7/5): I grew into the short stay there and found it relaxing and chilled, 4 days was enough. - The breakfast each morning was adequate, what I did like was that we were given a set breakfast each day but it was not the same each day, nice variety. I was in a room opening onto the kitchen and general work area, it didn’t bother me too much but others possibly. Totally understand it being low season and work needs to happen on building infrastructure so had to cop noise from next door . The staff very friendly and the chef specially made me wonderful tuna dishes from a fresh tuna I bought from a local fisherman.
• Thi Dieu Hung (8/5): - The location is excellent. Right in front of the bikini beach and the surf breaks. The staff are all lovely. We also had lunch here twice and the food was so good! The manager was friendly and had a chat with us one morning and it was great as we learned about the Maldives tourism history. We would have given a higher rating but the bathroom we stayed in had a very bad smell throughout our stay. It's probably just due to the plumbing and the age of the room so we didn't mention it to the staff. This is something to consider when booking. Aside from the smell in the bathroom, we would definitely consider staying here again.

The location is perfect, it’s directly on the beach and has lots of seating areas available on the beach such as sun loungers, sofas and swings. The property is also nearby to good restaurants and the trips from here are really really good. The breakfast provided is also lovely, really recommend this guest house:) nothing!
