Guest Reviews
- Barbara V (10/5): - The room was nice and the hotel was very clean and staff was very nice A couple colder and windy days
- Mike (10/5): -
- Marlene (10/5): Perfect get away! - Extremely clean. Staff very courteous and kind. The breakfast outstanding . Breakfast area wonderfully set up and the lake view outstanding. Would definitely stay here again. Parking lot difficult to turn around and back out of. Stairs on outside not handicap accessible.
- Donald (8/5): - The breakfast was good, especially the waffles. The location on the shore of the bay is fantastic, with great views and a spectacular sunset. It is a bit of a drive to downtown Ashland, but that's not a real problem.
- Janet (10/5): Will definitely be back! - Clean, comfortable, beautiful location & friendly & helpful staff. Breakfast was awesome!! A little spendy
- Lyon (8/5): Enjoyed my stay very much. - Right by the lake Nothing. It was very nice
- Jim (6/5): Friendly staff and nice breakfast. - Staff and location. A++ The rooms(bathroom) need repairs to the walls. Plaster was crumbling.
- JOANI (10/5): Very comfortable - Everything was just fine! Nothing was wrong.
- Ellen (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - The room was nice and had a balcony overlooking Lake Superior.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Jude (10/5): We are grateful for this beautiful and clean stay on the water. - location on Chequamagon Bay in Ashland, WI close to family. The pool and hot tub spa are great.Breakfast choices, coffee. It is easier for me to enter and exit the pool with steps.
- William (10/5): OUTSTANDING location and staff! - OUTSTANDING staff who went above and beyond! Perfect location, right on the lake. All around wonderful hotel! My daughter left her favorite stuffed animal and the Hotel staff found it and held it for me so that I could pick it up.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Cheyenne (10/5): -
- Bonita (6/5): -
- Lee (8/5): Friendly staff, great pool/hot tub - breakfast was great, food wass hot.
- CAn (10/5): Great stay - The person that checked me in was super friendly and helpful. She made the whole experience great because if the staff is rude or unfriendly the whole staff sucks. So I really appreciate her My only complaint, and it’s really nothing, is that some rooms you have to go outside to get to the lobby or pool. Not a huge deal tho
- Pelzel (9/5): - Staff was so kind and helpful and the building was very clean
- G. Dale (10/5): Wife and I just passing through the area, GREAT PLACE TO REST! - Location, lake view, parking, staff! All were awesome.
- Dawn (8/5): - Very good breakfast-good variety
- Jesicah (7/5): - Everything was great except they should make you aware that if you do not get a pool view room your room will not be connected by an interior hallway to the pool or dining area. You will have to go outside to get from yr room to the front desk/pool/breakfast area.
- Tice (10/5): -
- Anne (8/5): Nothing fancy. But clean and nice - Very clean. Great sheets
- Becky (8/5): overall, nice hotel - Breakfast was fine. Had a variety of breakfast foods to choose from. coffee was available 24 hours, we had a pool side room which was great and convenient. However, a group of construction workers used it as a meeting room. They were very loud and we didn't feel comfortable using the pool while they were out there. their meeting ran past 10 PM
- Virginette (10/5): Awesome - Close to bayfield and see kayaking. Easy to get to. Offer a great breakfast. Enjoyed the sunset from the back patio. This is a great place to stay. Can tell management pays attention to details The goose crap on the patio. There are plants that can be put there to deter the geese
- Marcia (9/5): Slept in comfort, ate well, relaxed in the pool - A.C. was not noisy at all. Pillows and bed very comfortable. Breakfast very good. I used the pool and hot tub. Very nice to have these amenities. Would have liked bagels in the breakfast, and also whole wheat bread instead of white.
- Jeff (9/5): - Everything was excellent. Very happy to be on the first floor. Beds were nice.
- David (9/5): We were very pleased with the whole experience and would come back again. - The breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. The waffles were very good and were easy to make.
- Effie (10/5): -
- Beryl (7/5): Average room, decent price, great location - Mattress and bedding good quality The toilet ! Needs to be replaced
- Clara (8/5): Would stay here again. - Excellent location and value. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Parking was a challenge, very tight space and hard to get a space later at night. There were lots of water bugs to contend with on the outside of the building. One or two would fly in when opening the door at night, but the rooms themselves were otherwise big free.
- John (10/5): - Best service I have had in a long long time. Nothing
- Dustin (8/5): Weekend getaway for me and my spouse - Location, pool, and hot tube. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was good.

- arza (8/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): Beautiful facilities and friendly staff. - The location on Lake Superior was excellent. It was on the outer edge of town, but manageable. The poolside room was a bit too warm. I had to run the AC in my room while the outdoor temperature was close to freezing. The sound of the AC kicking on all night was a bit loud.
- Eby (9/5): -
- Tess (8/5): -
- Kenneth (9/5): -
- Dawn (5/5): - The stairs. They should advertise that you maybe given a room that requires stairs outside and your room door is on the outside. When we wanted to use the hot tub we were required to go outside to go inside! In a wet suit in the late fall this is not pleasant.
- Jon (8/5): - Location. The hotel was well maintained. It had a "lodge" feel.. Nothing.
- Jordan (10/5): We enjoyed our stay! - Right by the lake, good price if you’re looking for something less expensive. Perfect family hotel. Our kids loved. Could use a little updating. The rooms could use bigger garbage cans. but you get what you pay for.
- Judith (7/5): - Lovely view of Lake Superior and nice, free breakfast. In addition to the room heater, there was another free standing air filter? We couldn't figure out how to use it, seemed to blow warm air, making the room too hot. We only stayed one night, so didn't bother to ask how to adjust it.
- Bill (9/5): Great location and clean - Clean, nice location, decent breakfast
- Corbin (9/5): I loved the murals in Ashland! Wish there were more. - The staff was very helpful. We got the perfect room! It was all good. I was even able to get in a swim in your pool.
- Erickson (9/5): - The scenery is beautiful! The price. Way too expensive for a 2 night stay.
- Michelle (8/5): - Great location and view! Would have been better with lunch and dinner
food on-site or within walking distance. Great staff. Comfy beds! Would stay here again. Restaurant next door was closed down.
- Victor (10/5): - Staff was really great!!! Room was clean and of good size! Breakfast was really good! Coffee 24/7!!!
- Cheramie (10/5): Great place for the value! - Pool, hot tub, view of the lake and restaurant. No elevator
- Luann (7/5): -
- Kingren (10/5): - Great location. Could use more king bed rooms
Being next to a garbage dumpster wasn’t amazing.
- Donald (8/5): - Breakfast was very good and the view of the lake was fantastic.
- Giacomo_Indy (7/5): -
- koenig (8/5): -
- Doreen (7/5): Great location right on the water! - Breakfast was very good. Loved the location. Spiders 🕷 in our room. Had the hubby remove them. 1 on ceiling and 1 in the bathroom sink. We arrived late and our room was upstairs and hard to find.
- Ron (8/5): - Hot tub was right outside the window. Very noisy.
- Terry (10/5): - Beautiful Hotel right on Lake superior. Clean and friendly.
- Jeffrey (5/5): Good location and clean but dated. - The location was good. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. The room was very dated and can use an uplift. New carpet or flooring would help. The furniture was very old and had lots of dings, etc.
- CHERYL (10/5): A warm welcome and tranquil place to stay. - The hotel has a beautiful upnorth look and feel. The room was great! Right on the shores of Lake Superior. The Breakfast was good. A very convenient location for travelers.
- Barbara V (10/5): - We always liked the location and the room was very nice. There was nothing we didn't like
- Michael (4/5): - Location on the lake Not worth the price. Felt unclean and in need of updates.
- Christina (8/5): - Great location for what we needed
- Randy (4/5): - Internet/WI-FI connectivity was not good. Very slow with frequent disconnects.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Favorite place to stay on the bay!!
- Chad (2/5): - We had bed bugs in our room ,and then was not compensated anything. We went home. Its caused us to cut vacation short and go home and wash everything we had .
- Gail (10/5): - Very nice! Right on the water with room acc as to enjoy it. Have already recommended this to others who like to travel the area!
- Billi (10/5): - Wonderful stay!! Beautiful views and great breakfast.
- Jesse (4/5): Not great we didn't have many choices. - Overall hotel in poor condition.
- William (8/5): - Beautiful view of Lake Superior. Nice breakfast
- Gina and Don (10/5): - Great staff
- barbara (9/5): - we did not have internet.
- VICKIE (10/5): -
- Bernie (6/5): - The shower side if the bathroom door looked like black mold was on it, The vanity faucet leaked water onto the counter, the bathroom door rubbed on the tile floor in the shower side, paint chipping off walls by the beds. and the toilets are way too tight to the wall that so much so that you are actually rubbing up against the wall. Now outside the east exterior stair stringer is rotten to the core, I took pictures in case anyone want proof. be careful. We had booked for 2 nights and after the first night we tried to check out and were told that because we went thru a booking agency they could not refund the 2nd night. So we ended up paying over $600.00 for one night .
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Our room was comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious. We have been traveling for two weeks and have stayed in many hotels along the way. We commented that the breakfast we had here was the best we’ve had.
The location to our stop to visit the Apostle Islands was great and the price very reasonable.
- timothy (10/5): - Good variety for breakfast. Plenty room for parking with a trailer. A little pricey for our September stay. Enjoyed our two door room, one to the parking lot, and one about 10 feet to the pool
- Marcia (10/5): - Loved the rooms, the lay out, the pool, the breakfast. The property is dated and needs some repair (ie paint) but i will stay there again!
- MIGUEL ANGEL (7/5): - Ubicacion junto al lago Bañera sin plato de ducha. Desayuno poco variado
- Кисленко (9/5): -
- SUZANNE (8/5): - Short toilets in the room. Outside I would think better seating to watch the lake. One photo showed a deck over the lake it was from the second floor and small.
Another waffle maker so guests don’t feel rushed.
- Plamen (8/5): - Staff was very courteous and helpful.
- Nadine (8/5): - The hotel overlooks the lake and offered variety of breakfast items. Rooms where good
- Teresa (8/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Low shower - I'm 6 foot, 5. The shower head was shoulder height for me. The room smelled a little musty. Otherwise it was comfortable and breakfast was good.
- Heather (10/5): -
- Ken (8/5): -
- Kathleen (9/5): -
- carolynz425 (4/5): You can do better. - Down at heels facility with reasonably clean beds and bathrooms. Cheesy Northwoods decor. The room smelled strongly of the chlorine pool. About 5 channels available on TV. "Lake view" was the grotty backside of the building building where two workers lingered over cigarettes next to a drainage pipe. About 2x the money I'd expect to pay for this 2 star experience.
- Brian (8/5): - Very nice breakfast selection daily room cleaning
- Cindy (6/5): - Staff were friendly. Breakfast not stocked quickly. Pool area was wonderful. But in general the property looked tied and worn - much in need of paint and better cleaning. Great beds and linens. Not great for the price point of almost 300.00/night!!!
