Guest Reviews
- fengler (9/5): - Location Small beds
- Ben (9/5): -
- Beverly (7/5): nice place to stay - The size of our room The closet doors didn't open well
- Sharon (8/5): We had a great stay! - The Village Motel is a cute, privately owned, no frills motel. It is as it appeared in pictures and was comfortable and quiet.
- Teresa (9/5): - The staff was friendly and the room was clean.
- CATHERINE (10/5): -
- Trudie (8/5): Would stay again - Location No hair dryer in room
- Paul (8/5): -
- Laurie (8/5): Clean and convenient . would stay here again. - Location was very convenient with regards to the purpose of my trip. The room was generous and size and was very clean. The beds were very hard. They could benefit from having mattress pads on them to provide extra padding for comfort.
- Sandrine (8/5): -
- NANCY (8/5): NANCY - Spot-on in terms of convenience for this visit, A-1 cleanliness, responsiveness of staffing. Comfort lacking due to my ineptness w/HVAC. Same w/TV-WIFI. Only AAA or AARP discounts would have made the stay more appealing. Guaranteed to stay again --hopefully next year.
- Robert (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Village Motel. Easy check in, safe & quiet area and the room was super clean. The grounds look very nice and you can tell the owners take pride in their property. We will definitely return in the future. Do not hesitate to book a room at the Village Motel.
- glennsracing225 (8/5): - Cozy Little expensive for what it is. Clean but outdated
- Svetlana (3/5): Significantly overpriced!!!! - Proximity to Russian Holy Trinity Monastery Old smell, low quality motel with no cleaning service , no towels change at the price of 3 star hotel with hot breakfast
- Thomas (8/5): - Good place to sleep and shower when we visit the area. Nothing fancy but that's not really qhat we needed.
- Mary (8/5): - This motel was a pleasant surprise. We stayed here 1 night during a visit to Cooperstown which was about a 30 min drive (hotel prices are extremely inflated there). The checkin and checkout process was easy and the owner and his wife were very pleasant. The exterior is dated but clean. Yes, it’s your typical motel layout but the room was very clean and the bathrooms were newly renovated. Bed was comfortable. We could tell that the owners took pride in their establishment. The property was very quiet and felt safe. The owner provided good communication and was quick to answer our questions. We appreciated the complimentary bottled waters in the room. The room was appointed with a (very clean) small coffee maker, coffee grounds, and paper cups. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we are ever in this area again.
- Richard (10/5): - Bed and pillows were comfortable. Not many restaurants nearby, but maybe a 15-20 minute drive.
- Jean (8/5): - Old, but well-kept. Very clean. Good value
- Dennis (4/5): Disappointed - Close to a nice diner for breakfast in the morning. Very small. No amenities! Check in lady not over friendly. One of our beds was hard.
- Lester (9/5): The price was b - The location was fine. There was no breakfast provided, however there is a restaurant practically next door.
- JAY (7/5): It was nice and convenient -
- Anthony (9/5): Perfect experience. No pretences-good value. - Service was good. Management was very accomodating. The price was great for the location. No negatives.
- javier (10/5): - Very clean the owners are very nice
- Debra (8/5): - Rooms though dated had been upgraded with new plumbing fixtures and floors. A/C syruggled to remove moisture and room felt slightly humid. Very clean and nice. Helpful staff/owners
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb -
- Corbett (5/5): Passable - The bed was not very comfortable and pillows are flat.
- Robert A (10/5): - pretty small but comfy beds. Not many restaurants nearby
- Todd (8/5): Very good - I was most impressed with the little details. The shower had a mat to prevent slipping. There were complimentary bottles of water in the refrigerator. The AC was a piece of cake to control.
- Ronald (8/5): - Perfect location for Glimmerglass & very clean.
- Ray (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Comfortable, clean and economical room with no frills. - No breakfast was included in the price. It met my expectations
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (10/5): - The room was spacious, immaculately clean and quiet!
- Barry (10/5): Good value and location for the area. I'd stay there again if in the region. - Good morning breakfast connections in town. Early alert horns testing by volunteer fire department . . .
- Michael Scott (10/5): - Great place to stay for a Cooperstown Dream Park Visit about 17 minute drive. Very affordable and nice and clean and lady running is was super nice and helpful… 10 Stars in my opinion
- Christy (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (8/5): Sweaty in Richfield Springs - Very clean and great location for us. We weren't able to adjust the A/C unit to cool lower than 72 and 73 at night. We woke up sweaty.
- Maryana (8/5): Very good - We stayed for one night. The room and bathroom are small, but very clean and comfortable. This is not our first time here and we always stay at this motel. We recommend it. Queen size bed, not King
- Maria (10/5): - Our experience there was awesome. It was nice and quiet. Close by to food, gas, and groceries. The drive to Cooperstown is scenic and not to far. Clean and friendly service. The water is hot and stays hot, so very relaxing after a day at the ballfield.
- Brian (8/5): - Is not a fancy place, but the rooms are super clean. The person running the front desk stayed to check us in when I called late on a Sunday evening so we would be able to have a room. That meant a whole lot after spending 12 hours on a motorcycle. Thanks so much!
- James (10/5): For the value it was perfect. Especially like the town My son was playing in Cooperstown and it was 25 minutes away - I liked the location and the room was perfect for us
- Jaap (8/5): Very good -
- Irene (1/5): Don’t do it! They are not friendly and don’t believe in reimbursing you when they won’t let you stay there. They blame - Nothing! I was denied a room because the owners lied about being pet friendly. The property has NOT been renovated! It is OLD and outdated as well as 22 miles from Little Falls, NY out in the boonies. No one was staying there when I pulled in.
- Tanja (7/5): Good -
- Anna (10/5): - We had a very nice stay at the Village Motel for our church trip. Would recommend to others.
- Wayne (10/5): The Host and Hostess are always very friendly and accommodating. -
- Carolyn (8/5): Affordable and very clean - Reasonable price, clean, close to restaurants. Nothing fancy, but absolutely fine. People arrived next door around midnight and we could hear them talking loudly. Turned on fan to block them out.
- Nathaniel (10/5): Cutest little motel ever. Nice folks running it -
- Ashley (6/5): - Beds are comfortable. Staff is friendly. Location is good for where we needed to be.
We’ve stayed here twice now. They put the strongest “air fresheners” in the rooms. Both times we’ve had to put it on the outside of the window and shut it out so we can’t smell it. The smell makes me feel sick.
The 2nd time we stayed I also noticed the smell of whatever detergent/soap they use all over the blankets and pillows. It’s so strong that I almost had to sleep in the car.
For all the hotels with unbelievably uncomfortable beds, these are definitely better than most. But the smells are so overpowering that I don’t think we’ll ever stay here again.
- Jake (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tatiana (10/5): Good - It was a nice room and clean and if you want to earm it up it will work. The manager of the hotel was very helpful. Family make sure that it is pleasant to stay Room was nice. What else you nedd and they give water.
- Marya (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (9/5): very pleasant - N/A liked everything
- Laura (2/5): The beds had a bad smell and spiders in the room also not much hot water. Paid way to much. - Nothing Dirt
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - We did not join you for breakfast as we were to attend a family brunch.
Location was perfect as it was close to the venue where our relative got married/reception.
Even though you are close to Rt. 20 it was quiet.
We really appreciated your assigning us the handicapped room when it became available. One of us needs to use a walker to get around and the room was spacious enough to do that safely, with ease.
We were pleased you had four rooms available to accommodate our family group.
Convenient, safe, comfortable and very neat/ clean!
Well done!
Thank you!
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Virginia (8/5): Very good -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bonnie (9/5): The room was ready for our late arrival. Bed comfortable, far enough off toll road to be quiet. - Clean, water provided, check in easy. Ice machine not working
- Marda (5/5): Passable - The smell. I had to keep the window open because there is an odor.
- Michael (5/5): Passable - The fountain across the street made the area smell like a backed up sewer.
- Victoria (9/5): Superb -
- Todd (10/5): Would stay again - The cleanliness was great The beds were hard
- Wayne (10/5): Great place to stay if visiting the surrounding area including Cooperstown, NY - the Village Motel is always clean and neat. The owners are very friendly and have reinvested in the property to maintain a clean and up-to-date facility.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean basic motel, easy check in & check out. Motel is older but well kept. Diner, pizza, Chinese restaurant & neighborhood bar within walking distance. Would stay here again
- Gerald (9/5): Great overnight stay - Freshly remodeled, neat & clean. Great value for overnight stay.
- Charles (6/5): Safe, and Restuarant next door - In the town , stores close by Kind of out dated but generally clean and quaint

- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- walkbassman (10/5): Wonderful Stay. - A wonderful clean and comfortable hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is the second time we have stayed here. The price is right and the rooms are clean. We will be back anytime we are in the area. It's so quite and peaceful at night.
- Jan (9/5): Superb -
- Timothy (10/5): Very relaxing. - Staff was very friendly. N/A
- Peter (10/5): - The owners were very friendly and do all the work of the motel themselves. The motel has the charm of an old upstate NY motel. Very clean, new fixtures in the bathroom, comfortable beds, and convenient appliances such as a useable fridge with freezer that is big enough to put blue ices, microwave. Pretty pots of zinnias outside the rooms and a place to sit. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and would come again.
- Steven (10/5): - Recommended
- Jose (7/5): Good -
- Eugene (10/5): - Nice
- Debbie (1/5): I did not feel safe there - The photo is very misleading, it does not look like this. The building and parking area is in high disrepair. There is no nice “lawn” and chairs as photos suggest. When I arrived two men were sitting outside with door open and commenting about me. I did not feel safe there so I just left
- Marianne (8/5): Nice and homey - Don't be fooled by the plain exterior. It isn't fancy, but I was surprised by how nice it was. Bathroom looked to be recently redone, and everything was very clean. I would definitely stay again! A little continental type breakfast would have been great!
- Tyler (7/5): Good -
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Donna (10/5): Excellent - Clean , comfortable and staff was friendly
- Brigitta (8/5): Very good - Convenient, comfortable, clean room for a stopover.
- Carolyn (10/5): - The motel was very quiet.
- Rowena (8/5): Very good -
- Maureen (10/5): - Old but very clean. Probably the cleanest motel/hotel we’ve been in. Small town. Nice diners to walk to.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- David (6/5): Ok for one night stay - Small motel which served the purpose for a one night stay. Room was clean and quiet overall. The A/C was loud when it ran and came on and off a lot. Room also not real dark to to outside lighting. Convenient diner located just down the street for bfast.
- Mary (8/5): Room was clean and the ac worked. Staff helped hook up to WiFi. - Very quiet area. Close to the restaurant we went to dinner and then breakfast before we were on the road again. Had a minor problem with flushing but my husband fixed it. Not a reason to not stay here again
- Scott (8/5): Older but clean budget motel - Good location
Easy check on
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - The motel was in excellent shape, very clean and well maintained.
- Roger (9/5): Superb -
- Eddie (8/5): Very good - Great location for getting to Glimmerglass Opera.
Very clean but no daily service for three night stay.
Excellent value.. Small room for three people.
- Francis (6/5): Old motel. Updated bathroom - Updated bathroom. Comfortable bed. Outside furniture disgraceful and disgustingly worn. Torn ripped cushions.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Katy (7/5): Good -
- Jody (8/5): Very good -
- William (8/5): Small town motel dated, but well cared for - Owner/manager was very helpful and room was clean. Facility is dated, but bathroom was updated and AC worked great. Beds a bit on the soft side but comfortable. We thought it a good value for a small town location. It's about 15 minutes by car from Cooperstown.
- Gary (7/5): Staff was friendly and helpful - N /A Mattress was a bit more firm than we like
- Alfonso (5/5): Passable -
