Guest Reviews
- Charles (7/5): -
- Karen (8/5): Nice place to stay, very comfortable - I liked the theme of the rooms They told me the office closed at 10 after I had already received confirmation that I could check in at 11, so I had to rush back from Black Canyon Garrison National Park in the dark to arrive on time
- Denise (9/5): - Enjoyed the coffee. The out door space was nice, the flowers beautiful
- kimberly (3/5): I guess I get what I paid for. - It was very retro. Pretty outside Towels had stains on them, they mattress was dated 1997, bathroom window on first floor was very difficult to close
- Timboe (10/5): -
- Benjamin (10/5): Definitely would stay again. - Excellent rooms, very cozy and rustic. Nothing really, all was great!
- John (7/5): -
- Maranda (7/5): Fine the sign is cool - Location Super old mattress Bed /pillows/ the sheets
- Stacie (7/5): -
- sandy (10/5): -
- Tamera (9/5): - Outside area very nice & very well kept! Pretty small room but cozy!
- Chuck (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nancy (3/5): -
- Debra (9/5): Updated and well cared for old-style motel. - "Breakfast" was coffee and (homemade?) Polish treats - which was more than expected - I knew there would be no full breakfast, but loved the treats. We had a kitchenette which was complete. The room was updated very nicely! Shower head hard to move.
- Bradd (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean...excellent owners..very nice & casual...very quite.... Excellent small motel
- James (8/5): good - no breakfast extra roll of toilet paper, couldn't figure out the tv
- Donald (9/5): Cozy, close to our destination, very reasonable price. - Price was very reasonable considering the competing motels/hotels in the area. Giant spider in the bathroom.
- Stephanie (6/5): - Area was quiet and safe. Bed was comfortable. Staff was not very friendly. It was a bit run down and decor was very out dated. Lots of towels provided, but they were very thin. Price was a bit high for a motel.
- Sonia (4/5): No ev charging station - We booked this hotel because it stated there is a ev charging station.
When we showed up they have no idea what we were talking about.
No charging station at all.
- Michael (7/5): Based on the rate, it was essentially what we expected. Except for the small shower stall and the TV - What Breakfast? A larger shower stall. and a more dependable TV ( acted like a bad cable connection)
- Wendy (1/5): See above. - We arrived before 5pm.and were informed by the Front Desk attendant there were no more rooms, although we had confirmation. She recommended another hotel and said a room was being held for us there. Since it was getting dark and we were 2 females who did not wish to be wandering around looking for a room, we accepted her suggestion. Before we left she told us to cancel the reservaion by phone, which we did. When we arrived at the suggested hotel, we were informed the price was over $60 higher. Naturally, we were not happy at all, but chose to stay since it was dark by then and we noticed other folks being turned away because this hotel was full. I just received my credit card statement and discovered that I am being charged for accommodations at BOTH properties. Needless to say, I am furious. Can you do something about this?
- Kittipat (1/5): Bad - The reception was rude.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great value for a great stay. - Clean room, very quaint and well maintained. We even had deer out front. Felt safe.
- Brenda (8/5): Traveling through on Motorcycle so worked out nice - Nice hosts, quiet & clean Booked King room& got 2 full, beds were hard.
- Mary (10/5): Definitely recommend. - Location ideal.
- R4391CIgaryl (2/5): Refused refund due to staff member cancelation error. - Requested front desk staff to cancel one night of a two night res and she cancelled the wrong night. When I called back was told the night I needed was no longer available (only 10 min later). Got on conference call with Booking.com and front desk staff member and was told I would not be charged by the hotel staff. Charged 153.40 on my cc and was told I would not get a refund by I believe the hotels owner.
- Mark (10/5): - Nicely decorated, cute property. places to sit outside. rustic. beds were ok, firm. shower ok
- Robert (1/5): Unscrupulous and money grubbing management. - Did not stay there as the manager told me I was not welcome when told I would be a late arrival. I spoke with the manager of the property, I think he had a Russian accent, I mention this because he would not tell me his name. I made a reservation but had to cancel because of illness. He would not allow me to push back the reservation one week, hoping for better health. When he refused to move the reservation back I told him that I would come to Gunnison to visit anyway to not let the money just go to waste (I assumed that he would have rented the room anyway because of Memorial Day Weekend). So I called the manager told him I was coming but it would be late, he then told me I would not be welcome. I can only assume that he was disappointed in not being able to rent this room to a second party, doubling his profits. I challenged the charge through my credit card as the manager effectively cancelled the reservation with his "you are not welcome" comment and won the challenge. I believe this manager to be extremely unscrupulous and I would not dream of staying at the Long Holiday Motel in Gunnison.....ever...
- Lori (9/5): Superb - Easy check in- the manager phone's me prior to my arrival and told me which room was mine...key in room. I added a 2nd night and a 2nd room ( for family) and again, very easy to work with the manager. Easy parking in front of room door. Room was clean. It met my needs- no issues
- Ursula (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barnes (4/5): Cost was good. Room below average. - Price, location, hot shower with good water pressure. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the air conditioning smelled horrible.
- Dante (10/5): Exceptional - Great owners took great care of my needs.
- Barr (8/5): Cozy and comfortable - I liked that it felt cozy and had great gardens to sit outside of yr room and enjoy in the morning and evening. I wish they’d offer some sort of continental breakfast with granola bars, pastry, donuts, fruit etc.
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Jayma (10/5): - Very comfortable very clean!
- Tonya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenda (9/5): Will stay again! - The space and location was ideal for peace and relaxation. Thoughtful accommodations with ease.
- Max (1/5): Bad - They basically ditched us. Stay away.
We booked a few weeks in advance and then on the day of booking, after 3 (out of 5) hours of driving, we got a message from the hotel saying they don't have a room for us. And then they disappeared. We contacted Customer Service, they tried to contact the property multiple times within the next hour, but no luck. Had to spend a lot of time and nerve cells and go to bed late because we had to figure out how not to sleep in a car/outside.
- Dante (10/5): Loved it will be back - Lady at desk was super sweet...gave me a new coffeemaker and my choice of room on far end
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Elsie (10/5): This room satisfied our need for accommodations on our route. - Convenient stop in Gunnison, Colorado between Great Sand Dunes National Park and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and a final destination of Moab, Utah the next day. Modest price since most other rooms in town were more expensive. No breakfast. Only coffee available.
- Cynthia (8/5): Very good - I loved that there was a kitchenette. The log decor was cute. It was a bit over priced and they didn't have my reservation in their system when I arrived. No USB ports.
- Roy (7/5): Good - Only coffee was offered. Tried to put a night light in the bathroom but the switched only worked when the overhead light was on so that defeated the purpose of a night light.
- Todd (9/5): Great place to stay in Gunnison with a rustic vibe and good value. - Great location just outside of town and far enough away from the main highway that road noise wasn’t a problem. Room was a good size for the two double beds. Lots of room in the bathroom. Not really the property, but folks smoking at the tables just outside and between rooms takes away from stepping out of a room in the mountains to fresh air. A designated smoking area on the other side of the parking area— it really that far away—would be welcome to non-smokers.
- Frank (10/5): Perfect - Never had breakfast Awesome people
- Chad (8/5): Nice motel - It was an old school motor lodge where you park right in front of your room. Mountain cabin type furniture and decor. Beds weren't very comfortable. Pillows were really thin. I did sleep well though.
- Monica (10/5): Would stay here again. Away from the busy center of town. Very cute. - It’s was aesthetically pleasing. Cute bright flowers all along the front of the rooms. Extremely clean grounds. Log wood furniture decor. Loved it! The bed was too hard and the pillows were flat.
- Oleksandr (7/5): Good - The conditioner was too noisy.
- Teri (8/5): - The cabin was clean and cute. The manager was not as approachable or receptive as we would have liked. Coffee was the only thing offered every morning and some days it was not as fresh as it could have been. My cousin lived right next to it so we were able to get fresh coffee at her place. It was quite expensive for what you get.
- Clyde (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elise (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean room. Freshly painted and well maintained property. Easy to get to and great/ large parking spots. Some road noise late at night
- Candace (6/5): Pleasant - It was in a good location. Was a small room but clean No room had tubs...only showers. The bathroom was too small to allow.a tub. There was only a big heavy table with tall wood chairs in the room to match the wood of the other furniture. I like a dresser. When I stay 4 days to.a week or longer I like a dresser so I put my gowns, and personal items inside a drawer and not have keep pulling out the suit case. The worst thing was there.was no.closet. They put a board on the wall with long slanting pegs to hang clothes on. This made me have to.stack mine on top of each other.. When I wanted something I had to remove the clothes on top to get to them. To defend the owner there was not much else they could because the wall that.could have been used as a closet is where someone had put the AC. THe owners were great and helpful . I feel for a small room and no tub or closet or dresser the price was too high.
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (4/5): Would not stay here again. - Comfortable bed. No coffee maker. Shower water was not hot.
- Denise (5/5): Typical old motel; small, thin walls and dark room. But clean, fixed up Colorado style and quiet area. - affordable. cute property. next to a walking/bike trail. thin walls.
- Joaquin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mora (6/5): Pleasant - Clean and decent priced. Considering it was a very last-minute stay, it was a cozy, comfortable little place. A bit outdated, parking was a bit tight.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lori (5/5): Passable -
- Terrence (5/5): Passable - Clean The proprietors were not friendly or welcoming.
- CrawfordGene (6/5): Old fashioned - This is more like 1955 because this is an old fashioned motel. The rooms are very clean and well kept, though seem small by today’s standards, they are ok for a short stay. The grounds are very well kept. Unfortunately the management turns off the heat when no one is in the room and it was very cold when we arrived and it took until late at night to get warm. This was uncomfortable. We like old fashioned motels because they can be charming and certainly are nicer than the soulless hotels now everywhere. The cold and high price was off putting. The woman at the desk wanted to complain about what Expedia charged her and wanted to increase our bill, but we said we would leave and she then charged the agreed upon price. I never have used Expedia before and will never again, but it was late and I had to make a reservation. Her complaints were also off putting. For a tourist area, Gunnison is not the best place to stay, but sometimes we have to stop there. The people in the next room talked long and were easy to hear through the wall, though we could not make out the exact words which would have made it more interesting. Next time we will look for somewhere else because of the very cold room, the complaining owner and the noise from the next room.
- Todd (2/5): - They did not have our reservation and were sold out.
We had to scramble to find alternative lodging
They had no record of our name our reservation.
- Mike (5/5): Passable - It was a nice single story old time motel. The price for what it was. The lack of amenities. The contential breakfast that consisted of stale store bought cookies.
- David (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Great and comfortable. - A bit tired of the hotel/motel chains, was fun to talk with people who actually are making a family living out of this industry. Would like to have had a larger freezer compartment in the fridge but then didn't expect a kitchen anyway.
- Coleen (7/5): Good -
- Jill (9/5): Superb -
- Beverly (9/5): Superb - They were very nice and made arrangements with us because we were arriving after 11 pm. Overall is was a comfy mom-and-pop type of hotel. Clean too. The price seemed a bit steep for what it was but it was also the cheapest option we could find.
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): friendly owners, good value - very clean nothing
- Sandy (8/5): Very good - Beautiful property, so beautifully landscaped. Location was nice kind of on the outskirts of town. No coffee in rooms, the light fixture fan did not work.
- Kristopher (8/5): Friendly owners, great location, and clean & comfy. - The location on the west end of town was quite nice, close enough to downtown but far enough away that it was quieter. No disappointments
- Ellen (7/5): Good -
- Sean (5/5): Good value, but not something I would stay more than a night based off of the lack of sound proofing - Good value. I liked the amenities Walls were very thin. I had a neighbor that was loud until 1am and probably not something they thought they were doing wrong.
- Lisa76058 (6/5): The owner, Vitek, is quite rude. - Vitek should learn what "hospitality" means since he's in the hospitality business. He is quite rude, to say the least. He doesn't seem to have any concept of polite conversation. The room was nothing fancy, but it was clean. The bed was a bit on the hard side. We only stayed one night, since we were just passing through. The room was very cramped, so anything more than one night would probably be too much. The flowers outside the rooms and the grounds were beautiful.
- Bruce (6/5): Nice people....nice hotel.....reasonable rates - Good location....clean Grumpy desk clerk
- Aubrey (7/5): Good - Hard mattress
- Glenn (6/5): Pleasant - Reasonably quiet, clean. Staff person was not helpful, curt, attitude.
Location not close to downtown. Bath and shower soaps not v good.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb - Grounds very pleasant, well-kept and attractive.
- 1Cajun27 (10/5): Wonderful home style oasis - My husband and I loved the Long Holiday motel! We stayed there 3 nights. The grounds are lovely and there are several nice places to sit and relax after a day of hiking. The owners are hard working and very sweet.
We would definitely stay here again.
- Michelle (6/5): - Location
- Jacob (10/5): - This Motel was very easy to check in and it was exactly what was posted online
- Benjamin1961 (6/5): Yelled at for brushing snow off the car!!! - I was greeted by a lovely Russian woman at reception and pleasantly surprised by a neat and clean room. This could have been a perfect one night on the road stay.
Instead, an angry Russian worker yelled at me for brushing some snow off my car onto the parking lot. After I stopped and said I wouldn't do it any more, he told me that I didn't understand. He came close and pointed to the snow ploughed at the edges of the lot. He told me several times I could take as much as snow I wanted, but not to put any more into his parking lot. I guess he had shoveled the snow himself. Because I had read previous reviews about this guy, it made me feel uncomfortable and threatened.
I stopped immediately when he started yelling at me! I had no idea it was an issue, since I've never lived where shoveling snow is a thing. Perhaps it was mindless of me, but I didn't like treated so rudely by the motel employee.
- Kathryn (10/5): - I liked all the rustic landscaping. It felt like being in a forest clearing.
- shawnkM4241SO (2/5): Cancelled the room we booked with B.S explanation. - Driving 7 hours to stay at their hotel in order to see a game at Western Colorado University where my son is getting recruited for football. The cancelled my reservation, after booking site showed two rooms available. I booked early in the day and they call me at 9:30 at night to tell me they don't have a room. I had to scramble to find another motel at more than double the price. Very poor customer service.
- 984martik (10/5): Awesome little motel - Well, what can I say? The room itself was VERY clean. The furniture was cute and woodsy. The bed was firm. So if you like pillow tops this may not be your cup of tea. The staff was very nice. I tried to make this review with just simple facts but TRIPADVISOR insisted I spend an OUTRAGEOUS amount of space usage and ramble on. What WAS a great experience had now been jaded. So I will stay in this motel again, definitely. But I will use Expedia from now on.
- Brian (10/5): - Well maintained place, friendly staff.
- Anna (4/5): - I was not pleased with the facilities and will not plan to return in the future. Walls are paper thin, can hear the next room. Had a hard time with the shower. Maid service non existent...no cleaning the room, not throwing trash away, no replacing empty tissue box, hand soap disappeared after first use and never replaced, a/c was loud and annoying, ...I could go on an on. Not recommending them at all.
- Eddie (10/5): Great place - Cute place to stay. Only issue is the AC was a little noisy but other than that, I highly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Simple and clean. - Simple no frills motel, clean and well kept. We stayed there because of price and would do it again under the same circumstances.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The grounds were beautiful
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The woodwork of the beds, tables and Motel was beautiful.
The rooms are minimal, but clean and nice. We would have liked to have access to coffee other than from the office at a limited time and amount. Possibly put small coffee pots in the rooms.
We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
- Ron (10/5): Great time skiing in creste butte - Great stay has everything you need
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Arrived for check in, nobody was there. Had to find another place nearby to stay at.
- Danijela (10/5): - Cleanliness, we liked how well facility is maintained also location is very convenient and the price was right
- joancL1112BV (6/5): No More Than One Night - We stayed here last night. The room reeked when we opened the door. I think it was laundry detergent, but could have been some kind of cleaner. We opened the windows and doors. My partner got a headache and I had a wonderful sinus snotty allergic reaction. The rooms was very small with a queen bed, which was OK comfortable, and pillows that might have been filled with sawdust. There was no way to read unless you brought your own light. The owners also seem to live out back and had some chainsawing to do as the sun was setting, so that was a lovely bit of ambiance. You can also hear the highway noise throughout the night despite being a block off of the highway. They have tried to make it cute, but it's not comfortable. Probably worth the ten or twenty bucks to spend the night someplace else.
- alexwest1988 (2/5): Gross - This place is disgusting, the room smelled like pee and mothballs and the carpets were stained and dirty in both rooms I looked at. They refused to give any money back because it was the day of but I can’t sleep in a urine cloud.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great clean motel with character
