- Max Lorenz (4/5): Mehr Schein als sein. - Die Lage direkt in der Innenstadt war hervorragend auch wenn man fürs Parken 10 min zum öffentlichen Parkhaus laufen musste. Auch die Zimmer sind hochwertig eingerichtet. Leider nicht sauber. Stichwort; Bremsspur und fremde Haare im Zimmer. 1. Auf Booking wird der Eindruck vermittelt, dass man den Poll jeder Zeit nutzen kann. Erst im Kleingedruckten sieht man dann, dass es zwei Zeitfenster hat 8-10 und 19-21 Uhr in dem man in den Pool darf. Bucht man eine Anwendung extra darf man auch außerhalb der Zeiten den Spa nutzen. 2. Frühstück inkl. Aber geht man dann Frühstücken sind plötzlich Teile des Frphstücks Aufpreispflichtig. Das sieht man aber auch erst wenn man sitzt und die Karte gereicht bekommt. 3. Sauberkeit allgemein. Es scheint so als wäre es dem Personal egal. 4. Eigenmächtige Servicefee. Auf der Rechnung war ohne Rücksprache plötzlich eine Servicefee als Tipp. „Mann könne diese streichen aber es sei ja fürs Team für den Service.“ Alles zusammen entsteht in jedem Berührungspunkt mit dem Hotel der Eindruck man soll hier gemolken werden. Krasses Beispiel: Bucht man eine Anwendung im Hotel fürs Spa zahlt man 180-200% von dem was man direkt im Spa bezahlen würde.

- Janet (7/5): Nice hotel but, as a person with a disability, staff never offered to assist or advise of an accessible entrance. - Perfect location in city center. Restaurant on property was excellent. Best Caesar salad ever. Free access to the spa but only between 8-10AM and 7-9PM. For 3 days we struggled up and down the entrance stairs with a rollator and someone using a cane. It was only at checkout that we were told about a ramp entrance. The concierge never once offered to help carry the rollator up the stairs. He did at least help with the suitcase when we arrived.

The staff were exceptional and attentive. We used the Spa and that was also a lovely experience. The price of the breakfast was slightly too high and possibly could be lowered?

- Nicola (10/5): Fabulous stay in this lovely hotel, ideally situated in the heart of Bath - Beautiful hotel, large bedroom with great views which was ideal as the room faced a quiet street so no noise. Staff were very attentive & helpful. Also enjoyed taking advantage of the spa facilities.

Nach unser Frage nach den Parkmöglichkeiten, wurde uns ein Parkplatz zum doppelten Preis im Vergleich zu dem direkt gegenüber liegenden öffentlichen Parkplatz angeboten!! Sehr dreist!!!

- Carmetta (10/5): Amazing. Absolutely worth it - You couldn’t be more central. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the Roman baths and Abbey. Everything was really close by. The room was beautiful and we loved the classical music on the radio as we came in. There was a card and cupcake waiting for me in the room too. We had breakfast on my birthday and it was well presented and delicious. Service was superb. Dinner was amazing. We had a wonderful experience at The Gainsborough Bath Spa, made even more special by the exceptional service from Simran, Racquel, and Solange. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The special touches they arranged for my wife’s birthday were greatly appreciated and made the occasion even more memorable. They are a real credit to the hotel, and we look forward to returning. The Spa!! Glorious! The only think I can think about is possibly no Sky to but to be honest we didn’t watch much

- Ann (9/5): Delightful Hotel to experience all that Bath has to offer! - The Hotel is well situated within the heart of Bath. Close to tourist attractions, cafe's & Restaurants. Our room was comfortable, spacious and nicely decorated. The staff were helpful, courteous and friendly. The Hotel was not very helpful when we needed to move our dates slightly because of a delayed flight from Australia. They insisted on charging us for the days we could not use and charged us also for rescheduled days. So, we ended up paying for 5 days instead of 3. All our other bookings with hotels and tourist operators were more than happy to help us reschedule or reservations. We will be able to claim the cost (less excess) from our Travel insurance. However, we feel the Hotel could have been more accommodating under the circumstances.

Thought continental breakfast option was average. Adamant that my friend wasn’t to pay for anything yet they took a £100 deposit on arrival from her card. That wasn’t later reimbursed.

Також нас засмутило зникнення наших продуктів в нерозпечатаних упаковках з холодильника у номері. Персонал обіцяв розібратись, але не запропонував жодної компенсації. Після звернення до керівництва готелю нам подарували чудовий набір місцевих сирів. Рекомендую менеджменту пропрацювати цю ситуацію з персоналом, оскільки у таких випадках комплімент від п'ятизіркового заходу повинен здійснюватись автоматично.

Drinks and actual rooms were great. Will definitely take advantage of the treatments next time. Reception staff were also great The Charges for everything e.g, staying one night but then paying for pre authorisation of £100, breakfast at £40 is extreme and use of the spa when checked out at £70 pp is nuts. Its a posh place and very special but still.

- paula (6/5): Dissapointing. - City centre location. Beautiful spacious entrance hall, extremely comfy bed nice bathroon. spa looks amazing. Very pleasant staff. . The room.003 Smaller than expected for the price and a trek up and down stairs and around corners. Tucked away, dark no view.. £259 for the night. Went looking for a bar to chill out but that was tiny cramped and dark with no outside space for guests. Bar man was however utterly charming. Overall Not a 5 star experience. Complimentary biscuits... More suited to a Days Inn but maybe they didn't want to tempt the guests to actually eat them! Unfortunately the prohibitive hours of complimentary spa access meant I was unable to partake of what would undoubtedly have been a 5 star experience.

- Micheal (9/5): This was a beautiful experience. We're glad we stayed here. - From the moment we entered the hotel we were impressed by the helpfulness, efficiency and friendliness of the staff. I can honestly say that every member of staff we encountered maintained that standard. They were exceptional. The hotel was also beautiful, the room was spacious, spotless and extremely comfortable. The SPA is just a little part of heaven. We knew that we were booking some luxury at the end of a trip, and the price reflects that, but we both felt that we received a premium product and were happy to pay an appropriate price for it. Oh, and by the way, it's only a few minutes walk from all of the Central 'must visit' sites. The fact that it doesn't have a car park can't be helped, given its central location. There is limited space at the front door to unload/reload a car, if that's how you're travelling. The concierge was very helpful in this regard.

The towels were rough and thin and very small. The shower/bath drainage was very poor. It meant showering in a pool of water up to my ankles I could hear people above walking around loudly.

Bed was a bit uncomfortable and the ballot (sp?) rooms are really out of the way and you have to take 2 elevators and do 2 flights of stairs in addition. I got lost a bunch trying to get to my room. Definitely get a room in the main building if you can.

- Stay41nite (10/5): The only hotel to go to in Bath. - The SPA is great. Their High Tea is suburb! Their staff is so friendly! Their house Cocktail is Devine! And location is unmatched. The free access to the free minir waters got guest is great my skin was sparkling like a vampire.
- Laurynamy (9/5): Expensive for the room quality but the kind staff and amazing spa baths made our trip worth it - The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We received an upgrade on arrival including a complementary bottle of wine and some refreshments in the mini fridge. We were also given a beautiful gift box of cheese. The spa facilities were great and as we were upgraded we had unlimited access during our stay. The water leaves your skin feeling so refreshed and again, the staff were all lovely. The breakfast was really varied and included continental and hot options. I have stayed in hotels that were more aesthetically pleasing for half the price, but the staff really were were nicer than anywhere else I've stayed. I don't think the room was anywhere near as nice as I expected for over £600 a night, and we were upgraded to the Gainsborough suite so can only imagine the disappointment if we weren't. Without the upgrade the limited access to the spa would have also meant we were unable to use it so the room definitely wouldn't have been worth the money. Overall the experience we had whilst there, the kind staff and amazing spa baths are what made our trip memorable and worthwhile.

- Mans666 (4/5): Expected so much more, walked away really disappointed - Expected so much more, left somewhat disappointed. Location is great but remainder left us wanting that extra bit to live up to the 5 star standard it clearly strives to be. Small touches within the room, cleanliness, leaking shower seal and blocked drains resulting in shower that soon turned into a bath and a constant leaking tap. Spa at £70 a person is certainly overpriced compared to other spa’s. We used the spa on (Thursday afternoon) wasn’t very busy but suggest most will struggle to stay in and around the spa for 3 hours. A couple of pools, one that has varied jets to message but didn’t seem to work, a steam room lacking heat or steam, a sauna that struggles to get to temperature (lacking a seal on the door) but the ice seems to stay topped up with is good. The infra red sauna for us looked like the only room really working. Breakfast was nice and service was professional and pleasant. Struggle to understand how places can charge £25 a head for continental and £40 a head for cooked. £80 for a couple to have a small fry up and 3 pancakes. In all, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at the price and standard it sells itself to be, other hotels where the price is low, you come to live with such issues, not at a place with this pricetag

Room was very comfortable and complimentary drinks were most welcome. Location is perfect. Very central to everywhere. The bar was a little dull. No reflection on the guy working there, he was very friendly but just no atmosphere.

However limited spa time for guests at a 5* hotel, food very average and overall ve - - Location is excellent. - Staff are wonderful - helpful, polite and professional. - Rooms are very spacious and beds very comfy. - Very exspensive hotel with limited spa use. As a 5* hotel advertised as having a spa I feel it is outrageous that guests are only allowed to use the spa between 7 and 9am in the morning and 7 and 9pm in the evening. If you want to use the Spa either side of this you need to pay £70 per person or pay for spa treatments. This was not clear on booking the hotel and for a 5* hotel I feel this is unacceptable. The rooms are very expansive and as a result I would expect spa to be included 24/7. - Food at breakfast was very average/poor for a 5* hotel, and again at £40pp I wish I hadn’t of booked a room with breakfast included as it was very average. - Please note the car park is £40 per night, which again is very expensive, and I am again very surprised that this was an additional cost or not refunded. I would not stay here again.

- weiyi (9/5): - I almost love everything here. I love the bed. I love the pillow that feels like cotton candy. I love the hot spring. I love the sauna room. I love the lion head that can spit ice. I love drinking whatever beverage is in the fridge at will. The large hot spring pool massage is very comfortable, and it can reach the legs and back. However, they are usually occupied by people at night. There are approximately 6-7 couples, which is around 12 people in total. The other two pools are sometimes occupied and sometimes not. The sauna room is also sometimes occupied and sometimes not. The pillows on the beds are really comfortable. I heard there was an ice room and I thought there would be snow (because all ice rooms in China have snow), but in fact it was just a lion spitting ice. The towels in the iceroom sometimes have a smell and sometimes they don't. The ones with a smell are very pleasant. The steamroom feels like you can't breathe at all. Everything else is perfect! It would be great if they could send me breakfast to eat. The breakfast is too expensive and I can't afford it. Also, the check-in time is too late - it's only 16:00 before I can check in. The client is quite elderly. Also, because the room are so high, feels a bit out of place. Finally, a service fee of 10 pounds was charged (my lamb shawarma was saying goodbye to my wallet).

- Gavin (8/5): Excellent location. Comfortable hotel with great staff but on the expensive side - The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. Our room was large and comfortable although there was quite a bit of damage to the walls that could easily be repaired. Location is excellent for the city being told the mini-bar was complimentary only to find it was only bottled water and soft drinks was a bit disappointing and disingenuous. For the price paid I would expect a fully stocked complimentary mini-bar.
