Guest Reviews
- Ralph (6/5): - Pretty place in nice location. Very quiet
- Darrel (10/5): - The staff were incredible, so friendly and welcoming. Each night they served wine, cheese and crackers.
The overall atmosphere and hospitality was amazing. We hated to leave.
- Pablo (8/5): - Nice property, I loved the fact that they have a socializing hour around 530 where they give you wine, cheeses, cookies and other snacks. The owner is super nice.
On the negative the mattress sloped towards your feel but didn’t affect sleep. Rooms are small but charming. Perhaps a bit more expensive than it should be for what you get.
- Judy (6/5): - Creaky old bed, small rooms.
- Kelley (6/5): - Staff was warm and welcoming but never got my check in code. The breakfast was not included, and the restaurant was closed for dinner, leaving very few food options. Fireplace would not turn on, someone kept slamming the door downstairs as well (which is not the mgmt's fault I realize). It was a nice place but would stay closer to town with a proper B&B
- Yinghua (10/5): - Excellent Vintage style B&B.
- April (10/5): - Beautiful property and rooms are modern amenities in a quaint environment.
- Kurt (10/5): The wonderful Jackson - This is an excellent place to stay when visiting Woodstock. The hosts couldn’t be more gracious and attentive. The bed was very comfortable. The daily reception at 5 was outstanding with wine and local cheeses and crudités. Highly recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Adorable Inn - The Inn is adorable.
Our bed was very comfortable and the shower was wonderful.
I was surprised it didn’t come with breakfast since when I read the reviews before I booked it everyone raved about the breakfast.
The caretaker was absolutely delightful!!
- Joyce (8/5): Great stay but be careful of room choice - All was good but if I booked again I’d ask for a quiet room that’s not attached to another room through a locked door.
- Romulo (10/5): - Great stay!
- Gloria (6/5): - The property is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. Our room, number 29, was above the entry to the Inn and restaurant so we had to deal with the door slamming closed quite early and late. Additionally we had no cell service, which would have been ok, but the Internet was down from Saturday evening to Sunday morning and we couldn’t contact anyone and couldn’t find anyone on site to assist. Breakfast is not included, but there is tea and coffee. Pretty grounds. There was no parking available for guests near the Inn when we got in around 7pm on Friday. We had to park across the street and down a ways. Not a big deal, but something to consider.
- Richard (10/5): Great Inn lousy restaurant - The inn was marvelous. The inn keeper and her husband the maintenance man were charming and responsive to our needs and kept the place immaculate. The restaurant was dissapointing. Service was terrible, eggs were over cooked. Toast was slathered in butter (I think it was butter). No salt, pepper or any other condiments were on the table and the waitress was no where to be found so we ate the meal as it was getting cold. We did not go back the next day
- David (6/5): - Quiet and comfortable but old. Food is expensive and breakfast not included. Lots of stairs to 2nd and 3rd floor. Too expensive for what you get.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - A quaint boutique historic hotel with a cool little bar and fine dining. The view from our room overlooking the garden and lush lawn added to the tranquil atmosphere that we were hoping for. The owners were pleasant and friendly.
- Federico (10/5): - Staff amazing beautiful setting and rooms
- Jim (10/5): - The food and staff are excellent
- leslie (10/5): - What a lovely place to stay. The couple that manage The Jackson are absolutely wonderful and made our stay fabulous. I would highly recommend staying here with gorgeous surroundings, charming rooms and lovely hospitality.
- Vanessa (8/5): - Really loved our room. Fireplace, comfortable bed, balcony with a beautiful view of the backyard.
- norman (6/5): - The inn was very clean and well kept and the grounds were very well landscaped. The only complaint I have is that breakfast was the same every day with granola fresh fruit juice and quiche everyday. I think being in VT. Pancakes , waffles and VT maple syrup and even scrambled eggs with fresh pastry. Very Disappointed in the breakfast.
- Pamela (10/5): - The innkeeper, Lea, was excellent! She helped with our check in process. It went seamlessly. And she helped us when we had an issue with our TV. She was also extremely helpful with our breakfast and checkout! I would give her 5 stars! And the home was beautiful!!!
- Marc (8/5): - The hotel is great, the rooms are large and comfortable, the steep stairs are not for the faint hearted.
- Gilbert (8/5): - Very quiet. Nice people. Loved the quiche and coffee.
- Nicki (10/5): - The beds are extremely comfortable. The availability of ice is a nice feature. The flavored coffee machine was a nice surprise. Great recommendations from David. We will be back
- Rebecca J. (10/5): - Beautiful property with wonderful attention to detail and warm, friendly staff — really enjoyed our stay! Woodstock is a charming town and The Jackson staff offered great local recommendations in addition to providing comfortable lodging with thoughtful amenities, delicious breakfast and pretty views. Thank you to Dave and team — highly recommend!
- Linh (8/5): - Great staff and services. Rooms and toilets are a bit small.
- Brad (10/5): Great winter stay - Very comfortable accommodations, and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. It was great to have coffee/tea available anytime and we spent lots of time by the cozy fire.
- David (4/5): - We had trouble checking in because we booked through Expedia and never received our room codes. We eventually just came to the property hoping we could get in and Leah was very gracious and showed us to our rooms.
- Ashley (10/5): - Great stay clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
- Honor (10/5): Absolute Oasis - The Jackson was a winter oasis. They mastered the accommodating in accommodations. I made a late arrival due to severe weather, but the Innkeeper stayed up to 10:45 pm to greet me & provide orientation.
Blissfully peaceful & extremely comfortable room with jacuzzi tub.
My cell phone reception was really spotty, and they very kindly allowed me to borrow their main phone for a crucial call.
Best of all was the custom made scrumptious breakfast of steel cut oats with chopped walnuts, sliced bananas and incomparable Vermont maple syrup.
I travelled from California to visit family & plan on making the Jackson my home away from home.
- Lisa (8/5): - Best bed ever. Charming room. Wonderful service. Charming place. But the various machine noises (heating unit? Fans? All during the night (even after turning the one in my room off) were a real nuisance. That’s my only complaint.
- Bianca (8/5): - The property is quaint and homey. Room was nice but could have had more bathroom amenities, like body lotion.
- Mark (10/5): Awesome stay - Great time in a Beautiful Inn. Staff very accommodating. Great location. Nice and quiet if thats what your looking for. They have a pub but not opened yet. Will be nice when that happens. Heard rumors that they want to go in the direction of contactless everything, I hope not, if i wanted to stay at a hotel i would have. If i pick a B&B or Inn i expect a personal feel. Please dont lose that.
- Philip (10/5): - the manager Lea was wonderful and most accommodating . she went above and beyond to be sure we had everything we needed. The inn is very quaint and exceptionally clean. The breakfast could use more choices if it is going to stay continental. Not what you would expect from a Bed and Breakfast! That would be our biggest complaint.
- Charles (8/5): - Great people
- Verified traveler (8/5): First time at an Inn, would stay again. - My Fiancé and I had a good visit at the Jackson. This is our first time at an Inn/B&B and we only stayed one night so this review is really only just scratching the surface. Our room was clean and comfy, the style definitely fit the overall style of the Inn. The amenities (coffee station, water, seating areas, buffet breakfast) were all great and came in handy. The split heating/cooling units in each room were nice to be able to control ourselves. Our room had everything we needed and expected for our stay. We did not have to use any of the restocking services however it seemed like there would not be any issues. The bathroom was fairly small but had enough room for the essentials. The bed was soft but didn't seem totally flat causing a bit of back pain for the two of us in the morning. Overall great stay with no complaints. Would visit again on our next trip in town.
- Tiffany (10/5): - Fantastic bed and breakfast tucked away from all the hustle.
- Evan (10/5): Cozy Inn - We had a lot of fun staying at the Jackson House Inn. We loved the charm and the landscape out back. What a lovely place to stay.
- Katherine (10/5): - Such a beautiful inn! Breakfast was amazing.
- Michael (10/5): - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Went here to start our honeymoon. The house was gorgeous, and the room was clean and luxious! The bathrooms were very clean and s nice size. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The grounds were beautiful! Five stars.
- Joanne (10/5): Excellent venue - Exceptional property, rooms beautifully furnished and very clean. Bed extremely comfortable. Friendly helpful staff, cannot recommend highly enough. Bit of advice, book well in advance for dinner.
- Cameron (10/5): - Property inside and out is immaculate and beautiful. My room was a nice size. We were greeted promptly. Best overnight facility I’ve ever stayed in.
- Gloria (8/5): - We especially enjoyed the beautifully decorated and appointed common areas and breakfast dining room. The outside grounds are beautiful and the fire pit an added bonus. The manager and her husband were attentive and very helpful. Richard was delightful to chat with and a great cook.
Our room and bathroom was beautiful and clean but very small and difficult to navigate, especially for my 6’4” husband.
- Charmaine R (10/5): Gorgeous inn in a gorgeous setting. - Lovely place with plenty of areas to chill out both in the building and out on the grounds. It being a little further outside of town was ideal as it helped the natural setting and quiet atmosphere stand out. The nightly bonfire was a nice touch.
- Irene (6/5): - Very tiny room and bathroom at a large price. Bathroom door not closeable. Underwhelming breakfast.
- David (10/5): - The staff is extremely accommodating.
- Bernard (10/5): - Beautiful, quiet and well-maintained property.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Fantastic homemade breakfast and cookies at night. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was fantastic! Will be staying again. Book directly and save money.
- Dwight (10/5): - Fantastic Inn
Beautiful grounds
Great Breakfast
excellent room
- Joana (10/5): - Great stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Scrumtrulescent! - Amazing stay! Cozy, friendly and the breakfast was scrumtrulescent! We will definitely want to be back.
- Andrew (10/5): - Such a comfortable, clean, and warm place to stay with a delicious breakfast.
- Timothy (10/5): - The inn keepers were so attentive and the room was an A
- Andrew (10/5): - We had an amazing time at the Jackson inn welcoming and warm friendly staff , quiet and peaceful , very clean and comfortable, the bed was so very comfortable as well ,
The breakfast was included and was very pleasant , overall 10/10
- Donna (10/5): - We absolutely loved The Jackson House. Every inch of the house and grounds was immaculate and beautiful. Breakfast was amazing every morning and served in a gorgeous dining room. We didn’t want to leave!
- Jane (10/5): Excellent in every way - Everything was perfect
- Matthew (10/5): - We spent 5 nights in September at the Jackson House Inn. Nothing but raves for this beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Woodstock. Robin and Chef Jeffrey are exceptional hosts, both in providing personalized service and in maintaining this beautiful property. Room accomodations were lovely and comfortable. An expedia error had caused some confusion, but our hosts seamlessly made it work. The breakfasts were creative, seasonal, locally sourced, and delicious. All served with care, and a beautiful dining room view to cap it off.
We had made our dietary needs known before we arrived, and never had to say another word. They got it right every morning. We explored the house and gardens upon arrival, and knew we chose the right place to relax, and recharge. Location is fantastic, though not really walkable enough for us to downtown Woodstock, a simple 5 minute drive to amazing dinner restaurants and local Woodstock shopping. Lots to visit in this area, plenty more within a 30 minute drive. Overall, 5 star property from us. Robin and Chef Jeffrey get 5 stars as well. We hope to visit you again in the future, and highly recommend to all.
Sincerely, Tami and Matt
- LAURA (10/5): Highly recommend! - The Inn is lovely and the Inn Keeper, Robin, was great, helpful and attentive. Our only negative would be the breakfasts which alternate between “ sweet” and eggs. We do not eat sugary meals, so it was a disappointment. We didn’t know to say anything, or we would have in advance. Otherwise, highly recommended! Our stay was lovely.
- scott (10/5): - The Innkeepers were so friendly. Our breakfasts were excellent. The grounds were so beautiful. Our room was clean and beautiful. I loved all the antique furniture.
We will visit The Jackson House Inn again.
Brenda & Scott
- Daphna (10/5): A beautiful place - The place is amazing and so was the room we stayed in.
There was not a choice in breakfast . You need to make sure in advance that you can get what you like or closer to it.
- William (10/5): - Great, we’ll-maintained place with pleasant and effective staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent place, everything was nice and really clean.
- Thomas (10/5): - A charming return to an era of simple pleasures and hospitality. The Jackson House is a destination - a place to relax and reconnect. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room is chef prepared and varies daily. Highly recommended.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Beautiful inn…fabulous breakfasts and staff, Robin in particular, was delightful and helpful.
- Brian (10/5): - Wonderful old Vermont charm with modern convinces. Warm and friendly, great staff. Great location.
- John (10/5): - Friendly, attentive staff, incredible breakfast and top notch grounds. highest recommendation.

- Jean-François (10/5): - Fantastic property. All was perfect!
- ronald (10/5): - every aspect was wonderful...the bed, the shower, the dining room for breakfast, the staff...all amazing
- Gerard (10/5): - This property and the staff were outstanding. One of the best experiences we have had in quite a while. The Inn Keeper Robin was just outstanding. The guest chef Deb was also fabulous. I would recommend this property to anyone.
- Holly (10/5): - Robin was a gracious host and enabled us to stay a day longer, even though the inn was very busy. The property is absolutely beautiful with spacious rooms and gorgeous furnishings.
- Robert (10/5): - The house is gorgeous and very comfortable and we loved the beautiful area and yard. The breakfast room is fantastic - filled with windows and a double-sided fireplace, nice and cozy. We slept well and enjoyed the common areas (that always had a snack and chocolates). It was fun to explore the library as well. It was a fairly quiet time of year, which was nice!
- Dana (10/5): - Great spot in Woodstock the inn keepers Yuri and his wife were delightful! The rooms breakfast and grounds were amazing wonderful hospitality a must stay!
- Renee (10/5): - The innkeepers were fabulous-friendly, professional, and helpful. The grounds were well kept. They had plenty of staff for breakfast, housekeeping, etc. I would definitely recommend this BNB.
- Reagen (10/5): - I loved everything about this property. It was beautiful and charming, and a short 4 min drive to downtown Woodstock. The breakfast is so yummy and the staff takes pride in serving you. The first floor of the inn is gorgeous and you feel like you are staying in someone’s house. There are multiple rooms downstairs that you have full access to if you want to sit and enjoy a book in the library or have a cup of coffee or tea in the parlor. The lawn in the back is breathtaking and makes for beautiful pictures. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a quant and cozy room with a private balcony. The Jackson Inn did a great job of maintaining the history and colonial style of the house but with updated renovations. We loved Woodstock, Vermont and we will definitely be staying at the Jackson Inn when we return.
- Karen (10/5): - Awesome place to stay and be able to get around town easily
- Barbara (10/5): - The staff was wonderful and the room was beautiful. Breakfast was above all our expectations! Highly recommend this awesome place.
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional Innkeepers - The Innkeepers were exceptionally nice and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The breakfasts were spectacular. We loved our stay.
- Wally (10/5): - Late 19th century inn located in scenic area. Very clean, very green.
Yuri & Loredana are very pleasant hosts and went out of their way to ensure I had egg and dairy free breakfasts.
I highly recommend this place
- John (10/5): - Our spur-of-the moment trip to Woodstock was perfect thanks to the gracious hospitality of the innkeepers, Yuri and Loredana. The Inn is lovely and the grounds, stunning. Five stars would have to be conferred on the daily breakfasts, which were anything but prosaic. A delightful respite from a dreary 18 months of COVID!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the innkeepers were very efficient. the property was beautiful and immaculate. Breakfasts delicious and Lori was very careful in creating gluten free meals for me. Wonderful all around.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - inn appears to have recently been redone. Wallpaper, bathrooms, etc are all new and tastefully done. It was air conditioned, thank God, and the unit was quiet. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast was gourmet. i would love to stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic place. The best that I have experienced in New England.
Wonderful hospitality, fantastic rooms, newly renovated place with an incredible style, and amazing hosts.
- Paul (10/5): Glorious stay - What an amazing stay this was. The house was just spectacular. The rooms were very large and comfortable. They fit nicely with the theme of the building. The breakfast that they served was quite special with a pumpkin based French toast as the main course. We would recommend this to anyone as a perfect stay.
- Lynne (10/5): WOW - Wow. Just Wow. Everything was so perfect during our stay. The location is lovely, the grounds are perfect, the room was so comfortable and spacious, and breakfast was perfection. I'm already planning a return stay. Definitely in the top 5 places I've ever stayed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful. Lovely in every way. Innkeepers are kind and accommodating and helpful! Breakfast was superbly prepared. Thank you for a lovely stay.
- Richard (10/5): Great - Great place. Exceptionally clean and Kayla and Loren make you feel very "at home".
- Marc (10/5): A gem of a find! - Amazing inn with charm! Very clean and comfortable stay. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. Would stay here again and would recommend to all of my family and friends
- John R. (8/5): Nice Stay - Nice plane. Innkeepers we super. Food was average but many alternatives around the area.
- elizabeth (10/5): excellent find - It was amazing, beautiful, charming. Super friendly, personal service. Included breakfast was delicious, interesting & well presented. Great area of Vermont. Highly recommend.
- Peter (8/5): Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway - The Jackson House is lovely. It's gracious and refined, and beautifully cared for. Our room was beautifully appointed, if very small. Our stay was compromised inevitably by Covid, so no maid service. Very few guests, so probably the Inn was quieter than normal. All in all, very nice. Only complaint: on both mornings we were there, the main course at breakfast was unappealing--I craved a pancake or bacon and eggs! And no juice was offered--only coffee, tea or water. Cheerfully presented however!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Chris and Matthew have been wonderful hosts! They make the best and most delicious breakfast ever! The property is an impeccably preserved historical house, the room was spotlessly clean, the bed incredibly comfortable. I absolutely recommend this place! Chris and Matthew made us feel at home, we would love to come back one day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for a couple's trip - The innkeepers have a fantastic feel for good service. The room was comfortable. The inn has beautiful artwork. The library has a very cool collection of books. The breakfast was terrific. I don't often have a three course breakfast. All healthy. 10/10
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Inn is lovely and the breakfast delicious. The beds are very cozy. I haven’t slept so soundly in a long time. Our room was tiny but still nice. I loved how the one caretaker showed us the grounds while the other raced our bags to our room unknowingly. That was nice and stress free. The rooms were always made by the time we returned from breakfast. Loved that! The room always felt put together.
On a different not and perhaps on an off day... The caretakers were kind but easily offended by guests over small things and blaming though they were hospitable to us specifically. Communication was difficult. Prior to our trip we called multiple times with questions as we had never been to the area. We never spoke to a person. We felt a little on our own and blind.
- Christine (10/5): - A great deal of attention is paid to detail. The food is amazing. Matthew and Chris were excellent!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Gorgeous grounds, lovely home, large room w/super amenities. Thoughtfully located access to refreshments, good variety of teas and coffee. Delicious breakfast, presented in a huge room w/views of the well-manicured gardens and lawn. Added bonus: lovely small bar w/artisan cocktails and nice wines. Matthew and Chris were polite, pleasant, most gracious hosts.
- Deb (10/5): - Lovely accommodations, attention to details exquisite. Innkeepers Chris and Matthew were helpful, accommodating, and excellent at what they do. We had a wonderful stay with them, the property is stunning, Beautifully maintained, and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend the Jackson House Inn
