• Margherita (10/5): One of my favorite hotels ever! - Seriously one of my favorite hotels ever! So quaint. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully decorated. Self-service breakfast station on each floor was super convenient. And when our group wanted to play a board game, we were sad to find there was no lounge or lobby area but we were graciously provided a staff room that we could play in!

• Explorer66765421551 (10/5): Adorable - This hotel is in the midst of a renovation. The room we stayed in was adorable. Felt like a blend of a high end hotel and a cottage. Little touches like uno and family board games at a family table were cute. I was surprised by how relaxing it was - very laid back. There is a little coffee bar open all day with snacks and drinks. Right in the middle of the village. Really enjoyed our stay! We stayed on the lower floor - fully renovated hallway and rooms.

Splendid location and views, situated in a walking distance of several attractions. Lovely property, gingerly decorated. The building has been totally retrofitted and looks so fresh and inviting that I wished we could have stayed a few more days.

Although we had encounters with only one person (Kim), her attention to our comfort was like nothing we had ever seen before ! The hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect for our anniversary, this being the same hotel we stayed on our wedding night in 1992. and it hasn't slipped "downhill" in the last 34 years ! Can't recommend this location highly enough ! ! Nothing !

Excellent room and though the floors above the one we stayed in were being remodeled, that in no way interfered with or diminished our stay:
• Joshua (8/5): - We really like this area a lot. The only issue is everything closes at 5 o’clock as far as shopping wise and the restaurants close at 10 PM so if you were into drinking and having a good time, there is only one bar.

• jenniferrJ9909GJ (10/5): Charming and clean! - We stayed at the Harbor House Inn in December of 2023 and 2024. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are also super nice and have a spa- like feel. Got the room with a soaking tub and they provided soaps and a fizzy ball. I brought epsom salts too. Bathrobes are provided and a large walk-in shower was awesome. The rooms are very clean and decorated well- feels more like a bed and breakfast- four pillows on each queen size bed and duvets kept was warm and cozy. A large table was perfect for eating and playing provided board games. There was a mini fridge too but down the hall was a mini breakfast bar with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, muffins, bagels, juice boxes, yogurt, cream, sugar, butter and more! Good Fellos an incredible Italian restaurant is next door and other restaurants are in walking distance as are historical sites. They are renovating this hotel but was not bothered by noise etc. We vhoose to stay here because it has a cozy, homey feel, is very clean oh and they decorated the rooms with a Christmas vibe. Convenient to places too.

On booking, it does say that check in is at 3:00 pm. When we arrived to check in at 2:45pm, we were told rudely that we were too early. I also got a confirmation on the booking app from the property that a 2:00pm arrival time would be accommodated because our room was ready. The gentleman at the front desk did not believe my word and was short. After the miscommunication was settled, the rest of the stay and customer service was great. We would stay again. Updating information on booking website to match hotel policies.

The coffee and breakfast items available were a very welcome addition to my stay and as I was only passing through on a cycling trip, I wish I could have stayed longer. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby and being minutes from the lake, means I’d recommend booking this for a stay, long or short. All good

• Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great! Very short walk to the harbor, and huge gazebo overlooking the harbor with so many sailboats docked there. Three nice restaurants are virtually next door. I gave a 4 stars for staff because they were all gone when we arrived, though instructions for our entry were texted ahead of time. Personally were on site early I'm the morning. Each floor has a small serving station halfway down the hallway providing a minimal but adequate continental breakfast, okay for our needs, with a Kureig coffee maker. A nice pub table with 2 chairs was in the room

Once we parked, we never used our car again because there are literally a dozen places you can see right from the marina-based parking lot to shop and eat/drink. We will be back, thank you!
• Beth (9/5): Very pleasant place to overnight. - Beautiful location in a quaint village. Looks like the decor was recently renovated. Nice friendly staff. There are lots of restaurants very close by and we had a great meal overlooking the lake. We were put in a room on the lower level with the windows overlooking the noisy parking lot. It was raining and there was a bad smell in the room. The clerk on duty did move us up to the main floor after I complained. It was a nicer quieter room. I would say just make sure you get a room on the first or second floor .

There is a street light that is blurring in the window and you can’t pull the shade down because the air conditioner is there so you can’t turn over you have to face the wall and it lights up the room pretty good Overall not a very good experience. There were two robes in the room, but they were both size small so I got to wear one but not my friend. I’m not sure why there would ever be too small put in a room, but that is what we had lol the woman that barely had time to check us in because she was leaving Was more concerned about the time. The expensive room was definitely not worth it. Breakfast we were told was not served until 8 o’clock, so for all of us who had to get up and leave very early there was nothing

• Susan (5/5): Horrible first night. Wonderful second night - The location of the main Inn was as I expected. I could walk to every place I needed or wanted to be I expected to stay at the Harbor House Inn, but when I arrived I was taken to the Military Barracks far away from downtown. I didn't feel safe. There was no security chain on the inside of my room door, there were many live spiders in my room, no phone, no WIFI, no hair drier. The view out my window was of a neglected garden patio with a broken table. This was definitely not worth the $325 per night I prepaid. The staff was wonderful about changing my room to the main Inn the next day.

Pictures of the hotel showed pretty rooms and a walk through the hotel were the beautiful rooms. We were on a 3 floor no elevator. Called desk because a bunch of bugs got into the room and it was suggested they can though the window air conditioner. He offered to come up to vacuumed them. Asked why we were given this room and they said we made our reservation on Expedia and it should have been noted the room was being renovated he also complained that Expedia charges 17 percent to which I found off putting since it helped us find accommodations since we didn’t know the area . Feel like we were misled and once there had no recourse as it was late and we lugged our stuff up to 3 floor. During check in no one offered to assist us and the lady checking us in was not helpful or friendly with providing information. Overall meh
• Barbara (5/5): Passable - Harbor House changed my reservation to their other property without notice until the afternoon the 26th. They said I was notified BUT there was NO communications until the day of arrival. I wanted something close, within walking distance to the event I was attending. They were able to switch reservations. The room was adequate but I paid for a suite and didn’t get one. I feel I should get some compensation. WITHOUT IT I WILL NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING.COM

No attention to details in our room. There was so much wrong with this place. Two outside entrances were easily accessible to people not staying at the hotel. Teeny ice machine at breakfast nook had very old looking ice. Really in need of many minor repairs and a good cleaning. A drippy red/brown stain on the bathroom outlet, old in wall tissue holder is empty, so then get rid of it. A strange toilet roll looking soap holder looking thing, I have no idea what it is. Badly painted over items, old screw holes etc. A sign on the inside of the room saying masks are required. It’s 2024, has no one noticed this sign in 2 or 3 years? I’m pretty sure that someone was living in our room for quite a while, there are a lot of personal items under the sink. Food, change in a cup, beard oil, 7 more items. I’m sure they moved right back in when we left. Robes in size men’s L and women’s small. Most women can’t fit into a small, but okay. Soaking tub was a nice touch, but it was filthy and full of dust and many dead gnats. Also, the cold water handle was missing. Two large dead spiders in the bathroom right in view. Like has anyone cleaned lately? Very dusty half wall shelf as you first walk in the room. Dust shot into my face as I turned the air conditioner on. Positives - walking distance to everything in town.
