Ramona (7/5): - Perfect location, good price. It is an old, but iconic building, with old style furniture. The personnel is very nice. Great if you just spend there one night before your flight/departure. The smell in the room was not so pleasant. The room was very tiny, so it is suitable for not more than 1-2 days maximum. The insulation was not the best, so there was some noise. The view was to the inner part of the building, and there was only a very tiny window. We did not spend there much time though.

No running water, loud music, stay away - Pros: location in city center Cons: there was no running water during our stay so we couldn’t shower, flush toilets, etc. Hotel didn’t know when the issue will be fixed and didn’t provide proper support besides a few bottles of water. Also, as we stayed on Saturday night, there was very loud music in the park in front of the hotel until midnight. Rooms were small and basic and outdated, with broken chairs in the balcony and overall run down. We would NEVER stay here again.

IGOR (8/5): Very good with some minor shortcomings - Perfect central location, colonial style, noiseless air conditioner, moderate but comprehensive breakfast menu. No refrigerators in hotel rooms (outside temperature +31 degrees), no hairdryers.
Gael (6/5): Peut mieux faire!!!! - Hôtel, avec un certain charme. Il n’est malheureusement pas exploité à sa juste valeur. Emplacement pratique en place centre-ville, avec un Parking payant à côté pour se garer. Petit déjeuner, sympa! L’établissement est vieillissant et il manque clairement d’entretien! C’est dommage! La chambre confort est petite et la salle de bain exigu!

Josée (8/5): Presque parfait pour nous - L'accueil, le décor colonial de la chambre. Le petit ascenseur. L'offre variée du petit-déjeuner buffet et le charme authentique et vieillot de l'établissement en général. Je ne sais pas si le nettoyage du parc en face de l'hôtel se fait tous les jours, mais pour nous le réveil à 4h du matin dû au bruit du souffleur de feuilles et de débris fut des plus désagréables. Il faudrait que la ville travaille de pair avec l'industrie touristique...

Sartorius-Bode (6/5): - Die Lage ist hervorragend. Die Superiorzimmer sind großzügig aber mit 140 cm Betten ausgestattet. Frühstück übersichtlich, nicht allzu üppig aber alles da, was man braucht. Extrem laut. Bis 2 Uhr Nachts Lärm von den Restaurantbuden gegenüber. Ab 4 Uhr morgens Stadtreinigung für rund eine Stunde mit Laubbläsern unterwegs. Schlafen nur mit Oropax möglich.
Christine (7/5): Mitigé - Grande chambre propre, lumineuse et confortable. Situation centrale. Ascenseur en panne et pas d’aide pour les bagages. Très bruyant, se faire réveiller à 4h du matin par le nettoyage du parc en face de l’hôtel à l’eau haute pression et souffleuses durant une bonne heure. Et à nouveau à 6h par la voirie.

Patricia (5/5): I would not come back. - The reception staff were very friendly The room was not really clean and very outdated. We felt so unsafe (2 women) as there is no proper lock on the door (only an old lock knob). We were scared as the area did also not feel safe as there were a lot of loiterers hanging around. Additionally, the door to the balcony door did not feel very secure and the windows were quite old. We could hear all the noise from the street and bar downstairs so loudly. We did not sleep at all during the night. The room also did not look as comfortable as the photos as it was quite run down.

André (7/5): - Bequemes Bett, Klimaanlage leise, die Lage ist gut und die Mitarbeiter freundlich. Wir hatten ein Zimmer nach hinten raus, was gut war, denn zur Straße wird es glaube ich ziemlich laut sein. Für einen Preis von EUR 100,- ohne Frühstück zu teuer für ein kleines Zimmer ohne nennenswerten Komfort. Sehr hellhörig, man dachte, die Nachbarn stehen bei einem selbst im Zimmer. Schlechte Verdunklungs-Möglichkeit, kein Kühlschrank.

I understand the even is out of there control but the loud blaring music from the kiosks was endearing at first but wore thin by day 2

BelgaQueen (7/5): Some rooms nicer than others and staff somewhat vacant. - Good location and interesting architecture of the hotel. The roof top area had a lovely view and the location is very central. There is an interesting local crowd outside the hotel and having a drink and chat with them was lovely. My single room was less interesting and with a view over the rooftops towards the cathedral. The pics I had clicked on for room type, did not correspond to the room I finally got. The door was just next to the head of the bed and noise travelled through very well. I did not feel supersafe and barricaded the door with a chair. The room was crammed and it was difficult to work on the computer from it. It took way too long to be served at the bar, which was not too full.

Eurico102 (4/5): Cherchez un autre hôtel - Le confort du lit et l'espace de la chambre (nr. 11). La sympathie et disponibilité du recepcionniste (quoique le check-in se fait à 16h00 pile et pas un minute avant). Notre reservation a pris de semaines à être confirmée. La temperature du robinet du douche était impossible à regler. Dans la soirée et avant de dormir on a eu droit à un concert de jazz au rés du chaussée de l'hotel (nous on étaient juste au dessus). Les alentours de l'hôtel sont très mal frequentés la nuit, il vaut mieux éviter de sortir. La porte de l'ascenseur ne se ferme pas toute seule, il faut la fermer de l'exterieur. L'ascenseur a visiblement fini sa carrière. 15 minutes avant le check out (précisement à 10.45) la femme de ménage est venu me frapper à la porte pour me dire qu'il était grand temps de sortir, car elle n'avait que 7 heures pour nettoyer toutes les chambres. Hotel à eviter absolumment.

Vincent (8/5): - L’accueil rapide et efficace, la dame au restaurant qui est très professionnelle et très commerciale, le charme désuet de cet hôtel qui a un sacré passé et bien sûr l’emplacement Le bar ferme à 22h et ô surprise à 21h une serveuse pas très aimable et pressée de rentrer chez elle visiblement nous a dit que nous étions les derniers clients à être servis. À revoir !

Jovana (10/5): Fort de France, odlična lokacija - Odlična lokacija. Na par minuta od gradske plaže, parka i stanice za autobus. Sve je blizu. Soba je bila čista, osoblje veoma ljubazno. Krevet udoban. Internet odličan, tv radi, klima kao i kuvalo za vodu. Prijatan kafe je u sastavu hotela. Odličan rum-punč!!

Carole (8/5): Hotel congortable et très bien situé. - Emplacement top, dans le centre ville avec accès au port pour excursions en bateaux et proche de tous les monuments historiques à voir. C'est un des plus vieux batiments de la rue de la liberté, typique avec ses boiseties acajou et son old style. Les chambres sont propres et confortables avec un balcon ou on peut prendre le soleil face au parc La Savane. Le personbel est accueillant et souriant. Le restaurant "le Joséphine" sert un buffet créole chaque jeudi et vendredi. Réservation conseillée car réputé Rien.

Nireen (9/5): I definitely hope to stay at Hotel L'Imperatrice again 👍 - The location was absolutely perfect especially in relation to the cruise ship port. It is very close to several amenities. The facilities were very clean and the antique decor was both calming and attractive. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Whenever I'm in Matinique again, Hotel L'Imperatrice will be my first choice for accommodation. The wifi worked in the reception area but was almost nonexistent in my room.
Tonashia (8/5): - You don't really need the A/C in room because there is a constant flow of fresh breeze from the nearby park which we loved. Despite not being able to speak French, the staff were very friendly. At 5am there was someone using a leaf blower which immediately woke us up. It had been a long day, the day before from traveling and it was a Sunday, was hoping to sleep in but that wasn't the case.

Karin (8/5): Wunderschön - Wunderschönes Hotel, innen wie außen, sehr geschmackvoll Gute Auswahl beim Frühstück. Direkt am Platz, zentraler geht nicht. Durch wie Feuchtigkeit der Tropen schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bad war sehr eng und es gab weder Abzug noch Fenster. Zwei Lampen kaputt.
Mc Henry (4/5): Change check in time to a few hours earlier. Give the rooms a sweet scent - Location Check in too late and check out too early. Arrived in the country for 9am and couldn’t check in till 4pm. By the time I checked in and got comfortable, take a light nap have to pack up to leave in a few hours because check out is 11. Also the room had a bad scent like the washroom was just used and no air freshener to take care of that.

Tomas (9/5): - We liked the location near the port, where we arrived by ferry from Saint Lucia. It is also close to everything in the center—shops and restaurants are all around. We liked the spirit of this old hotel, even the things that others criticize (such as noise from the street caused by local drumming). We take that as part of the Caribbean experience. The room itself was clean, with a balcony where we drank beer that we bought at the bar on the ground floor. Late check-in. The lady at the reception didn't speak English, but we managed with a translator.

OLIVIER (10/5): Hôtel de charme - Excellent hôtel de charme , je veux dire plutôt excellente équipe charmante , oui l’hôtel est vieillot mais ça fait son charme , mais l’accueil est fait par une personne charmante ( le patron ? ) , le veilleur de nuit a été charmant malgré ce soir tourmenté de carnaval !!! , petit déjeuner buffet avec tout ce qu’il faut , salé , sucré, servi par une dame charmante , aimable , souriante , qui fait attention à ce qu’on ne joue pas avec la machine à café sinon elle ne marche plus … humour … chambre confortable avec tout ce qu’il faut , rapport qualité prix excellent , certains clients critiquent comme si on était dans un 5 étoiles , ils n’ont rien compris , soir de carnaval un bruit d’enfer , on nous a donné des bouchons d’oreille , que je n’ai pas utilisé , un bon rhum et je me suis endormi comme une masse , bref un bon séjour , un bon souvenir , je recommande cet hôtel et son personnel , merci , ❤️ Certains clients qui se comportent mal avec le personnel , ils sont restés au temps de l’esclavage où le maître blanc aboie contre le personnel noir , c’était infect honteux , je n’ai pas pu résister à pester contre ce comportement scandaleux , ce qui eu pour effet de réconforter l’excellente et aimable dame du service du petit déjeuner et nous avons échangé des sourires convenus

Petra (8/5): A hotel with character and central location. - Original 1950’s building. I had a big room on the 5th floor (better than the room I had when I stayed a month ago) No USB sockets and reception didn’t have an adapter I could use.
