Guest Reviews
Einfach furchtbar!!!
- Arthur (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (5/5): We found the cost of items were very expensive. - Easy to get to the ocean Condo smelled strongly of mold
Homeless persons resting outside the condo
- Taylor (10/5): This was perfect for what we needed! - The room had everything we needed and the staff were amazing! Parkings a bit tight and scarce but there isn’t much that can be done about that.
- Aaron (10/5): A lovely stay - I liked the location and the amenities
- Gale (3/5): Stressful rather than relaxing. - The location was good. The pool and hot tub were nice. My host was very helpful and helped me with the issues I had. The TV did not work so, it had to be replaced. So, I had no TV the first night. My host installed a new one the next day. One night I got woken up at midnight by someone pounding on the patio door and hollering. I told them to go away but they kept pounding. I called my host and she came and called the police. The police came and it turned out it was someone who lived there in another building and he was drunk.
- Davis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carrie (3/5): It was a little nightmare. - What I did like was the convenience of being close to town to watch 4th of July parade and fireworks. What I didn't like was the lock on door wasn't able to open when we needed to go back in to the condo. Also the front desk person gave us several numbers to use to open the key from the key lock but that didn't work. My husband started getting anxiety and his ptsd started affecting him while he tried to open the door. It was do exhausting. Then the front desk person came and brought us a key, but we already opened the door cause we were able to get the lock to open after trying it several times. The front desk person left a key with us just in case it happened to not work again.
The condo hair dryer didn't work. The TV was not coming on and the person suppose to call for help was not answering or texting me back.
It was a nightmare, but at least we were able to get a goodnight rest before heading home the next day.
- Darrin (3/5): Great location, horrible unit! For the price you can stay in a much better place - Location was great for walking around Didn’t know no elevator, have bad knee from surgery had to walk up 3 flights stairs. Then had to go back to get code from front desk to get into room. Horrible Murphy bed to sleep on, holes in blanket, sign warning you that if you left dishes in sink, or don’t throw trash away you would be fined: isn’t that what the $120 cleaning fee is for?!
- Lucky (3/5): Poor -
- Bethanie (8/5): Great location, good value, reasonable resort fees, beautiful views - Love the location. Love all the activity around the hotel and the gardens. Room was clean and comfortable. They could use some skilled flooring installers and painters to help with the renovations. The cove base was atrocious! I’m an installer and business owner so I couldn’t help but notice.
- Timothy (4/5): Very very very expensive. - Was well located for beach etc but most places are on the island. Apt was comfortable but pool vary small. Staff on site cannot help with queries as the agreement is between you and the rentee. The price was ridiculous when you look at TAX AND CHARGES (they are roughly twice the rental fee) and cancellation non refundable charges. I booked it and realised within literally a few minutes I had made a mistake. I asked to cancel and was told only if I paid the cancellation fee. BEWARE. Other places at more money per night are cheaper.
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - location, nice community
- Robert (9/5): It’s perfect, decient price, convienient, it gives you like this was my home. I wish, thank you - Just peaceful, quite, nobody bothering, it felt like this was the peace I needed even if it was one day Parking but oh well
- Darwin (4/5): Disappointing - Very convenient location just off Ali. Noisy, bongos playing next door at 5:12 am. No coffee or filters. Top of fridge very dirty.
- Barb (5/5): We made the best of it, again, great spot to be and the unit has charm and served us well. If it was updated at all, it - Location great. Old school charm, in general. Pool nice. Desperately needs DEEP CLEANING! Gross. From ceiling to floor. Welcome mat, balcony chair cushions, balcony door screen - REPLACE. All rugs-kitchen, Main room, bath - have cleaned or replaced. Both ceiling fans SCRUB. All cabinets and drawers remove contents and clean, then scrub cabinets + drawers. Replace bed pillows. Condo in general has an unclean odor. It has such potential. That’s my two cents.
- Joel (7/5): Good -
- Geraldine (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (5/5): Passable -
- Joetta (9/5): I will definitely use this property for all future trips. - The property was beautiful. The landscaping is gorgeous.
- Deb (2/5): Disappointing. - I booked an Ocean View and got a back-alley view. It was 3 stories upstairs that were difficult to climb as I have a bad knee and walk with a cane. There was NO coffee or tea for the morning. I was a victim of a switch and bait. This unit was NOT what I paid for or booked. Very disappointed.
- Deborah (3/5): bearable. - Available on short notice & good location. Not as comfortable as hoped for.
- Wallace (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nate (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jeffrey (5/5): Passable - Pretty shoddy unit this time
- Charlotte (1/5): Bad - Ellen
- Kimberlee (1/5): Room was dirty, said sleeps 4, only one bed. - Location Dirty outdated room
- Darlene (7/5): Our stay was very brief, over all the room was very clean and cute. Would have enjoyed staying longer. - The location was excellent! It was difficult to figure out how to keep the ac on during the night, it was very hot.
- Anela (6/5): Pleasant -
- 2 (7/5): Nice place to stay. - Love all the flowers and the view.
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- Owen (5/5): Passable -
- Chad (3/5): NOT WORTH THE MONEY - The condo stunk like mold.. The list of rules took me a lot to read. I'm handicapped and had a hard time finding parking I paid extra for beach view and I didn't have that it was just a Hussle to get more money out of me
- Joe (5/5): OK - The wall bed was comfortable. Outside the window was a very busy street, people had a great view into the room from the street.
The room was listed for $129 and the actual cost was $324 with all the added taxes and fees.
Shower was cramped 30"x30", and the shower head was junky.
- Deirdre (10/5): Amazing - The pool...... hot tub.... balcony... a/c.... Had hip done... stairs were challenging
- Cruz (4/5): Disappointing - The staff and location and price Condo was dirty and dusty, dishes that were in cupboard had stuck on food. Parking was very small but overall we enjoyed it.
- Dr. (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mandie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natasha (5/5): Passable -
- Damien (7/5): Good -
- Janet (9/5): Superb - Location and facilities are great. Islander inn staff was nice. The condo manager is nasty. Pages and pages of threats to charge for just about anything you do wrong. I was super careful and prided myself in following all the rules. Unfortunately the space is tight and there is a coffee table on wheels and I bumped it and spilled some coffee on the bed. I thought I had cleaned it up. When I got home I received a nasty note saying "you bled all over the bedding and you're on the hook for $105 for new bedding!" Upsetting! And rude and gross. I HAD a pleasant weekend spending my 62nd birthday, solo and then to receive this message is unprofessional and was totally unnecessary as well as extremely nasty. I also received a picture of a receipt for things I can't figure, except for the 10oz bag of Carmel corn on there.
Super unhappy with this condo manager (?) Owners live on the mainland and I wonder if they know how unsavory she is, or care?
- Matti (9/5): Superb -
- Charlee (10/5): Perfect - There was anything that you would need for a cozy home made dinner after an adventure packed day. We forgot to write in the journal that was left for guests comments. We loved it. Thank you Leaving so soon
- Katelyn (1/5): Terrible customer service, proceed with caution. -
- Cecelia (7/5): Great place for short stay, everything worked. - location close to the beach, close to restaurants, easy access to main road 3 floors to walk up, no fan in bathroom
Sent email to check out, day before I had to check out. Very confusing and scary!
- Paul (4/5): Great location, thats about it, MASSIVELY OVERPRICED!! - Location, pool, hot tub MASSIVELY Overpriced. The couch was rock hard, the mattress felt like it was from the 1980s. The owner NEEDS to at least get a new mattress. Also, there isn't even enough parking for guests. I had to park on the highway multiple times. The room was "ocean view" and it was on the ground floor/facing the ocean so it wasn't a complete lie but its not what you would think.
- Da (4/5): Disappointing -
- Joe (2/5): Very poor -
- Palmer (8/5): Very good - This was a very comfortable space. I appreciated being able to cook our own food. Induction cooktop instructions would have been helpful.
- Gail (5/5): Loved the location and the property. The unit needs some attention. - The location and property were excellent. The unit itself had a comfy bed, but the ceiling fan did not work, causing us to need to use the very noisy a/c. The screen door could not be put on it's tracks, so we could not close it completely and it was difficult to open and close. Things were a little shabby, but generally clean.
- Andy (1/5): I would have preferred pitching a tent in their yard over setting foot in this room again. - This was an absolute last resort. The reservation was paid for before someone told us the rooms weren’t available for the whole duration. Gayle called as soon as she found out they made a mistake but we still got charged. Rooms were grimy and there was hair everywhere; dishes and coffee makers were filthy; in 1 of the rooms there was only 1 working outlet, the pillows were gross and thrown into a cleaning closet-we had to use our own towels to cover the pillows before using them, beds were old and extremely uncomfortable, there were 2 lamps that had no outlets to plug them into, 1 room had several bulbs burned out, the floor was so grimy you couldn’t tell what color the rug was supposed to be, chairs were extremely uncomfortable; the toilets are ancient and the shower is so dark with hair everywhere; property is 100% Non-smoking and not advertised until the booking was complete. Additionally, this was the most expensive place during our trip. $1,400 for 2 barely functional rooms for one night in this place place is ludicrous. One of worst places we have ever stayed. We would have left if we had any other option.
- Amber (1/5): Bad -
- Arthur (1/5): Bad -
- Piutau (1/5): Bad - Nothing Too expensive for the size of the room
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Eliuzabeth (4/5): Disappointing -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (4/5): Disappointing -
- Henrietta (5/5): Although it was out of the norm for me, they enjoyed concert and checkout was easy. - Workers at Front Desk were Awesome, Kind, Understanding, Knowledgeable and Very Patient with many of those checking in at all hours. Many were disappointed because of No Parking and Not easy to Contact Host or Booking.com or person on grounds. This was my first experience and definitely my last...too stressful. Mahalo!!! btw, Front Desk worker (Christy) made sure she took great care of me (Aunty) while I waited in lobby for 3 hrs for my daughter/grandbebe concert finish. I did not want to stay in room 152 by myself and walk up to lobby (car was parked there) at 10pm because I did not feel safe walking by myself thru torched lit pathway. Other guests were okay but many not happy with process and esp. No Parking. Limited Parking, No Security except for Fron Desk Workers. I'm sure Ellen is a hard worker but she's not friendly at all or understanding...No Aloha!!! I guess I'm an exception since most of the guests are tourists/foreigners. I haven't been to Kona since 1990s, traveled Kona often small kid time...born/raised Hilo/Keaukaha. Many of the guests were not understanding since Kona Islander is not your normal hotel. Even if Ellen was direct with her answers, I can accept her tone dealing with so many guests. Btw, it was very difficult to receive booking.com messages/instructions. It took me three tries to finally get all information. I do appreciate Gayle (Host) for accepting my calls and allowing my 13 yr old grandbebe on day of scheduled stay.
- Shevlin (10/5): it was quite, nice, convient - keep to yourself environment what wasn’t there to like, had everything
- Crystal (9/5): It was a quaint place to stay. - It was clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. There was no elevator. Using the stairs was difficult with suitcases and a handicapped guest.
- Andria (3/5): The owner of the condo tried to hustle me and lied that she could not change my stay. - close to the strip noisy and older property
- Barbara (8/5): Very good -

- Carl (1/5): I requested a FULL REFUND - they declined. - Nothing to like....
The property DID NOT ACCOMODATE me...
I end up sleeping in my rental car Nothing to like....
The property DID NOT ACCOMODATE me... no communication.
I arrived at the Inn but no person at the front desk, called and left a VM - no response or call back.
I end up sleeping in my rental car....They should have decline my booking.
Wasted $305 for nothing.
- Santos (9/5): Superb -
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): Perfect location for soaking up the best bits of Kona! - Location is central to walking around Kona restaurants and shopping. For a short stay its close to everything, you wouldn't need a car. Perfect for a couple, ground level so easy to transport luggage in/out. Refrigerator condenser very loud, air conditioner unit also could be disturbing if you are a quiet sleeper. We ran ceiling fan at night to reduce noise.
