Michelle (8/5): - The setting is gorgeous, as is the bay window. So pretty. The motel was in a good location and was comfortable. It had everything that we required. On the whole this was a very nice motel. There were just a few very little things and they were only minor but they do add up, to name a few, the toilet seems to run/refill all the time, the fridge was very loud, the ice box cover was missing, the dining table chairs are a bit unstable, the laundry locked earlier than advertised with our washing in there etc. All very minor details but they did add up. I had enquired earlier checking which room we were getting and i was reassured that it is was not a loft room however we did end up with a loft room. We could have said something at the time but we choose not to as the person i was travelling with took the loft so it turned out not to be a non issue. The only other thing that i would note is that we had two extended power cuts due to an orange weather warning on the west coast. These things happen and cant be helped however it just might have been nice to have a little bit more support. We were told there was a power cut and a couple of places that we could go to for dinner due to having generators which was super helpful, but there was no offers of torches or anything extra to help. On the morning after the two power cuts, one of which was a 6 hour long power cut, i did raise my concerns about the possibility of another occurring the following night as I require electricity for a personal medical device and had an awful night due to this previously. Unfortunately no advice or help was offered in case of further power cuts. I was informed by another local business about a motel that we could go to that had a generator should another power cut occur.

Jennifer (10/5): A pleasant and comfortable stay, thank you. - Everything! Located near to town, this spacious, warm, super clean, quiet, one bedroom apartment, was ideal for us. The two separate outdoor seating areas created greater privacy for our ground floor room. The beds were comfortable, quality linens and a good choice of bed pillows. The large, open style shower was a surprise, but a welcomed change to the smaller showers at most of our holiday accommodations. The exceptionally friendly, helpful lady at reception, Lily is an asset to Punga Grove. The inconsistent temperature in the small, under-counter refrigerator which we reported to the reception staff. The poorly drained, large, open shower caused much water to spread over most of the bathroom floor. Luckily, with a generous supply of bath towels, we were able to dry the floor to eliminate the slip hazard.

We walked to our helicopter tour, restaurants and hiking up the street. This is a very quiet place to stay. We saw 2 kea's across the street in a tree ! I highly recommend the King Tiger for Chinese down the street.

We also loved the gas log fire. It was great to heat the room on the cold days..The room was spacious and very quiet during our stay. No Road noise whatsoever!! Nothing to fault.

Room had loads of space with large living room/kitchen area. Friendly receptionist Lilly walked us to our rooms and gave us fresh milk for tea/coffee.

Brilliant location to be near everything, very quiet in the evening. Nothing, room was boiling hot when we arrived, which for some would be OK as it was a little chilly but it did over power the room, but when the fire was turned off it cooled down quickly, that is just some feedback.

She could not have been more friendly or more helpful. Showed us to our room and started our fire. The view from the patio is nil. You’re right at the edge of the woods. That is a small beef given the rest of the room.

This establishment has the most draconian policy (threatening a $20 charge for any lateness and a full days charge for over one hour lateness) regarding the 10 am checkout which in my opinion is the bane of road trips in New Zealand and Australia. 11 am or even 12 is quite common in US and Europe and .much more user friendly. 2pm checkins which are quite common in NZ but not US are much less useful IMO than being able to sleep in and relax later in the morning. Staff were lovely and did not appear eager to enforce these rules.

Be sure to book a ground floor with small patio — quiet and cozy next to the trees. Bed felt like I was sleeping on box springs. Everything else about the property and staff were exceptional

The room with spacious and kitchenette had everything needed to prepare light meals, including two burner cooktop, microwave sink and refrigerator. Laundry machines were available on site. Our room had a beautiful wall of windows that backed up to the jungle and it was absolutely stunning. The manager on site Lily was extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. Nothing

A very pleasant stay. - Good location very quiet area your own designated parking space well equipped room & spacious compared to many others it was our second stay in eighteen months. Didn’t have a safe telephone shower over bath noisey fan in bathroom that stayed on for about 15 mins after use.
