The hosts, Ross and Ginette were cordial, friendly and made you feel very welcomed in their home. The breakfast was delicious and tastefully presented. Highly recommended for any traveler vacationing or traveling through the area.

The bed is very comfortable. Love the accents in their house throughout. We really enjoyed our stay with them and it was a very memorable experience for us.

The hosts are warm and personable, and the breakfast is outstanding—fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade bread and jam, and a delicious omelet served in a skillet. The home is filled with antique charm, original art, and luxurious touches like high-quality towels, a deep soaking tub, and a great mattress with plenty of pillows. The gardens are lush and peaceful, and every detail reflects the owners’ love for hospitality. Highly recommended!

- Ausra (2/5): Not recommended - The hostess was kind and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, I was hit with an unpleasant smell that lingered throughout the entire place. The cleanliness was seriously lacking. Everything looked shabby and lacked proper maintenance, with the excuse of 'preserving heritage'. The noise from the street was disturbing and the broken window didn't help either. This B&B was really disappointing for the price you pay. Given the cost, I expected much better conditions.

This turn of the century home is most impressive and the rooms are comfortable and well kept. The art in the rooms and around the home are worth taking time in to soak up!! Their hospitality is absolutely wonderful and we were treated to a wonderful breakfast to start our day on the right foot! The fruit plate was beautifully presented on their lovely china, and the omlette and fresh baked bread were such a treat! We felt very welcomed and will be sure to book again and/or recommend to any friends and viewers alike!

We did not know up front that we will have a shared bathroom, we are not sure if we missed the information or if it didn‘t say. It was easy to find parking spots on the street. There was no key to lock the door to our room.
- Patrick (10/5): Comfy, interesting B&B in a heritage home close to great restaurants - The locations was very handy to some of the area's best restaurants, and we were able to have dinner on the lakeshore at The Boathouse restaurant, two minutes' drive or 10 minutes' walk from our B&B. The breakfast next morning was superb; a bowl of fruit, grain and yogurt followed by waffles (home-ground flour!) and locally sourced bacon. We were also fortunate to have a breakfast companion, a fellow guest who was very interesting to talk with. It is a heritage home, so the floorboards are squeaky, which I found out when a guest on our floor eased out to go for his morning walk at 5:15 AM, and the squeaking floors woke me up briefly.

- Rachel (10/5): Perfect little getaway! - We had an amazing stay at the Captain's House. We were treated so well by our hosts and made to feel so welcome and comfortable. The house is absolutely adorable, decorated beautifully. The room we stayed in was super cute. The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well. We were spoiled with amazing breakfast both mornings, and had access to a fridge, microwave and coffee station. We enjoyed getting to know our hosts and appreciated their suggestions on places to visit during our little getaway. Location is great as we were just a 5-10 min walk to downtown Midland and most shops and restaurants of interest to us. We really had a great time and are so grateful to Ginette and Ross. We would love to stay again and see the area in the summer or fall.

- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - This house is really unique due to having most of the original fixtures, woodwork and other elements retained since it was built in the early 1900s (if I have remembered this correctly from what our hosts said). It is a true heritage site. Ross and Ginette were extremely nice and very experienced hosts. The breakfast was superb! Midland is a great location for access to other parts of the Georgian Bay National Park further north. We would definitely return if we are back in there at some point in the future.

We were surprised that it was a shared bathroom and with four other guests in the house, it was a bit inconvenient but we all managed and had nice conversation at breakfast. The breakfast was well prepared and delicious. All-in-all, a very pleasant and relaxing vacation.

Very interesting and charming home. Window A/C unit provided in such an old property. Since there is no sink or fridge in the room (bathroom is shared), it would be nice to at least have glasses and carafe/bottle of water provided in the room. While the breakfast was tasty and hot it certainly wasn't a full English breakfast as advertised on Booking.com and so fell short of expectations. Furthermore, I don't drink coffee/tea but was only offered water as an alterative, no juice.

Someone mentioned that it was creaky - yep, it was but the house is over 100 years old and had lots of wood. We liked it. Breakfasts were delicious. Ginette shared a recipe with me using rhubarb and I have made it. Loved all the antiques. We were steered in the right direction for dinner which was within a short walking distance from the b and b. Would stay again for sure. Private BR would have been nice but we had no issues.

Breakfasts were delicious and elegantly presented. Some of the rooms are a bit small so choose accordingly but you won't be spending much time in your room anyway! It's a great place to go to get away for the weekend

Only the room was very small, but they have bigger ones. Die schönste Unterkunft: alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und die beiden sind von einer großen herzlichen Gastfreundschaft, die überwältigend ist. Es gibt drei Zimmer, unseres war sehr klein, die anderen sind größer. Im Kühlschrank stehen immer Wasserflaschen für die Gäste. Kostenloser Parkplatz am Haus. Ich möchte unbedingt wieder mal hin.

I had Swedish pancakes and my husband had egg frittata. We enjoyed that beautiful and delicious breakfast with coffee, tea, yogurt, and fresh fruit.
