- Becky (10/5): - Lovely chic unique modern hotel. Online check in, restaurant on site, breakfast included. Our room was in the rear of the hotel. We walked a winding pathway outside, past the restaurant and to our duplex room with cute chairs in a covered porch. Clean and bright room.
- Amrutraj (10/5): - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this charming property. The reception and bar/restaurant teams were unfailingly courteous and attentive. The tasteful design and inviting atmosphere instantly make you feel at home and encourage a sense of relaxation. Conveniently located near the town center, it offers the perfect balance—close enough for a somewhat short hike, yet tucked away enough to feel removed from the bustle (such as it is in this quiet hillside town). The short walk to the center is scenic, though a touch steep. An added delight is the afternoon happy hour at the bar—a thoughtful detail that rounds out the experience beautifully. It wasn’t an issue for me at the time of the year that I visited, but some rooms don’t have air conditioning and it could be an issue during warm/hot days.

- Dawn (10/5): - Sibu Lodge is absolutely beautiful. The grounds and common areas are well-kept, and the room was lovely. There was a small fridge and we received a complimentary half-bottle of wine. We had happy hour drinks and food at the restaurant, and a lovely breakfast was provided. The town was about a 10-minute walk, so accessible, but the return trip to the hotel was very steep. The staff at the hotel set up our reservations for a zip line tour and a coffee farm tour, and we were able to include transportation for both activities. This is a lovely hotel, and I highly recommend it.

Room was great, breakfast was great and located close to town for short (but hilly walk). Only watchout would be if you're planning to go to sleep early... walls are fairly thin and easy to hear goings on around hotel - nothing some earplugs can't fix - would stay again and would recommend.

- deanna (10/5): - Staff was amazing, from front desk Hazel's welcome and suggestions throughout, to the servers in the dining room to everyone we encountered. Such kindness. We didn't expect such a pretty walk to our room. It felt like a stroll through a garden, and we loved the little covered sitting area in front of our door (which we never even used). The room was clean and dry (not easy in a rainforest!), the breakfast was great and included a menu to order from a variety of mains in addition to the buffet. And it was not a hard walk to town. Was a great find and would happily stay again if in the area.

The negative is the room has an AC but it would be better to have a heat instead because it was only 17 Celsius in December with rainy weather so everything was damp during the 3 days we were. The wet clothes were not able to dry and we were chilled.

The pictures on Expedia and the word “Lodge” in the name don’t do just to the quality of accommodation and the service level. The decor and the ambience - in the common areas and in the room set this hotel apart. Looks like the property has been completely renovated recently - everything felt very new. We had an issue during our stay but they took care of it very quickly.

- Rao (6/5): - Even though hotel itself is reasonably good, surrounding area is not that good. Breakfast does not have much choices. We were 3 families who traveled together. For one of the families, they charged for 3 nights even though we all stayed only for 2 nights. They refused to refund the extra night charge to that 1 family. So, people should be careful with their billing charges.

- Chardanae (10/5): - This is SUCH a beautiful property. I stayed here as a solo female traveler and I was absolutely in love with my room! It was so spacious, and the property itself is so well maintained and has such a gorgeous ambiance. It’s in a really great location in Monteverde, and I felt safe the entire time I was here. All the staff had phenomenal customer service and went above and beyond to ensure I enjoyed myself. The food was always excellent, too! My only gripe was that the drinks didn’t seem to be strong enough (meaning it never felt like there was any alcohol, even when I ordered the alcoholic drinks) but I still enjoyed everything I had. If I ever travel back to Costa Rica, I will for sure be staying here again. I love Sibū Lodge!

- Li (8/5): Bad sound insulation! - The hotel is newly renovated, service people kept it very clean. However, the room we stay (number 27) only has a small window towards the aisle. It was hot the day we arrived, we had to leave the door open (no AC), but the air circulation was bad, we felt stuffy. The sound proof is awful, our neighbor was sick and kept coughing, it was so loud we couldn’t sleep. The hotel told me they were to check out the next day but they didn’t ( I am not complaining the poor sick man), so we had another night without good sleep. They could have moved us to another room!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful modern stay - Sibu was a wonderful place to stay while in Monte Verde. The hotel employees are very helpful, offering a map of the main town, and the place is wonderfully modern and clean, with beautiful decor. Our only complaint was that our room was off the main courtyard and one of the walls was a window so we woke up to other guests talking outside very early. Otherwise we had a lovely stay and appreciated the modern accommodations and beautiful layout

- Jeremiah (8/5): - The door to our room doesn’t seal so ambient noise is an issue. There are zero hooks for hanging a coat in the room. Also we were below the sun deck and people dragging metal chais on the deck above is VERY loud. Put up a sign. Other than those easy fixes you’ve got a great place! Justin was our bartender and an absolute delight. Hold on to him.
- Praveen (10/5): - Excellent stay! The property is new and very well maintained. Looks very pretty in the night times. Staff is very curteous. Highly recommend this property!
- Vinay (8/5): Okay.. can be better for the price! - The stay here was okay. Rooms are a bit cramped, with hardly any space to move around or keep luggage. Beds are a little saggy with poor support . And when it’s windy, the cold air seeps into the room, rattling the doors all night. Breakfast is average. You have to pre order one day before. Coffee is lukewarm and tasteless. Staff is friendly and helpful. Property is clean and the bathrooms looked newly remodeled.

- MASAYUKI (10/5): recommended eco lodge - Room is clean, bed quality is nice and comfortable. We are served with breakfast that we can choose a day before. The staffs were helpful, and very nice to us. Wifi is available in all lodge area, which is nice.
- Mohammad (10/5): - The staff was very friendly. Shout out to Emilio (spelling?) at the front desk, for all the help. The family loved it. Great breakfast too.
- Yosef (8/5): - It was a pretty okay stay, everything was clean and neat, but it just has a mild feel of a "motel" instead of a hotel. The room has a bit of a cramped feel, and the walls were not so sound-proof; we did hear some noise from a neighboring room at night from a loud TV/music. But otherwise it was definitely clean, and we had what we needed. Definitely fine for a 1-night stay, or more if you are not particular.
- Hector (10/5): - The communication is excellent even before you arrive. The staff were amazing especially the guy at the front desk who did everything to accommodate us! It’s immaculate and the breakfast is delicious and beyond filling. We would definitely stay again if we ever come back to Monteverde.
- Stacy (10/5): - Check in was easy and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a quiet area and parking is easy. The breakfast was very good. The only downside would be that sound travels very easily between rooms so you can hear the conversations in adjacent rooms. This is probably not too concerning unless you are trying to sleep early.
- Nathan (10/5): - Greeted us with a glass of cold ginger lemonade. There was no AC but the temperatures in the Mountain are cooler so the ceiling fan was sufficient. Gorgeous vegetation on the grounds, located in a residential neighbourhood. Very clean and modern. Definitely would stay here again.
- Samuel (10/5): - What an amazing space. They have created a little oasis. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent here, and the staff were incredible in every instance. HIGHLY recommend a stay here.
- Joe (10/5): - Nice, clean, and new. Great for our family of 5.
- Debbie (10/5): - Emilio, at the front desk (possibly concierge), was excellent. He helped us plan out excursions and was so responsive. Breakfast choices were great and the hotel itself was much better than we expected. It was spacious, clean and the bathroom was beautiful. Pictures online do not do it justice. It’s easy enough to walk into the main area of town. I would highly recommend this spot.
- Gary (6/5): It’s a $60 room, keep $60 expectations. - I’m not as upset about staying at this hotel as I am at myself for booking it. Bottom line, this is a $60 hotel for a reason. First the good. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and free parking. Now the bad. No AC so you have to open windows. Well, no screens either so bugs came in no charge. The door opened to the outside but only had a flimsy door lock. No deadbolt or safety chain. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. I could feel every spring in it pushing back on my body. No TV. Not a big deal for me. The worst was the noise. All night, dogs motorcycles and who ever was nearby. Constant noise. So, I got what I paid for.
