- Mirabella (9/5): Great location, cosy bungalow, but the bathroom really neads adjustment and upgrading - Communication was excellent! A few days before an email was sent with all the explanations on the house and how to get there. The key was in the door. We felt very welcome coming into the door, so clean, inviting, warm and all the appliances you wish for in a self catering home :D. Location perfect to see all of the highlights of Southern Iceland. The bathroom was very small for a 6 person house. No ventilation unit, so if someone goes to the toilet you can smell it a long time :( Opening the window was not an option because of al lot of flies and the cold coming in as there is not heating in the bathroom. Also the shower cublicle is very narrow and the drain overflows very easily spreading all the water through the bathroom.

Calme, bien insonorisée et très bien située, multitudes d’activités et de sites à visiter à proximité. Tout était très bien.

- Jennifer (10/5): Fabulous stay! - The Icelandic Cottage was perfect for our 3 night stay. It was extremely comfortable, quiet, and in a perfect location to explore the wonders of Iceland. Rosa, the host, was very helpful ahead of time with information, with check in, and even supplying non-feather pillows for my daughter who has allergies. The cottage was well stocked with staples of food, coffee, tea, spices and herbs, and even some foods. We loved our stay in Iceland and the cottage made it all the more wonderful. i would strongly recommend it to anyone.

We very much appreciated fully equipped kitchen (including oven, coffee machine, salt, pepper, herbs, even clear foil for snacks and beer glasses in the freezer ready to be used! 😊😉 So thoughtful of Rosa!), clothes drying rail and electric fireplace which makes it easier to dry outdoor clothes on the rainy days. And a wash machine, if you need it. As we all are used to recycling we also appreciated separate boxes for plastics, paper, glass etc. It was really like from home to home! ❤️ Rosa is a great host. Very thoughtful. We found her book of tips for hikes, food & drink, shopping, driving in Iceland very useful. Nothing to complain about ❤️
- Sandra (10/5): The perfect cottage! - I loved this cottage and was so sad to leave! I have never stayed at such a comfortable and cozy place. We arrived late at night and it was such a breath of fresh air walking into the cottage. Everything was just perfect. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. We were close to the golden circle and south coast so a slow exploration of the area was possible.
- Chris (10/5): Quiet space for relaxation or exploration - The hosts were welcoming and helpful. The directions provided were really clear and it was an easy drive from the airport. It was a great base to explore the Golden Circle and beyond. The cottage was clean, spacious and possessed that rare thing in holiday accommodation - a kitchen that you can cook a proper meal in! We stayed here first. Nowhere else quite measured up.
- Stuart (10/5): - Just came back from a great stay at one of the cottages. Rosa was a pleasure. Met us a minute after we arrived and showed us how everything worked. The cottage is quiet and remote but just a few minutes outside Selfoss which was a lovely little town with everything you could need. It’s a few minutes from Rt 1 so if you’re traveling around, it’s a great location. Would absolutely stay there again if given the chance.

- Klára (10/5): Nice and comfortable accomodation in the middle of Golden Circle - We are family of 5 and the cottage is spacy, well equipped, modern and very comfortable. We arrived very late, but it was not problem at all, everything was ready and prepared. We have received very useful and exhaustive load of information prior to our arrival, thus everything was very easy for us. I really appreciate an efford in waste sorting, everything was clear and super-useful. There is a number of basic foodstuff in the cottage, so you don't need to buy everything from a scretch. We also appreciated the dryer, very useful in October! The ONLY and just a little problem was with fire detector in one of the bedrooms shortly beeping from time to time at night, but we reported it when leaving, the problem should be solved already.

- Jesse (9/5): Wonderful, clean cabins that worked great for our family trip to the South Coast region. - Very clean property with an attentive host. Great overall location in relation to the South Coast and the Golden Circle. While the location worked well overall, the cabins are in close proximity to a somewhat noisy road. This was a mild annoyance, but there's not much the property owners can do about it.
- Dori (10/5): Wonderful experience - We had a great experience, and we felt like every need was provided for with care and attention to details. The facilities are very clean, sleek and homey. We had a wonderful stay, could easily cook dinner and do laundry, everything in the house gad instructions and explanations. We struggled a bit with the 7 different trash bins, but it was worth the great experience in the cottages. We struggled with the recycling instructions.....

- Rebecca (10/5): Super easy and comfy place to stay! - The cabin had everything we needed during our stay, even for our toddler. Plenty of travel trips available! The cabin was nice and tidy, well equipped, plus had an abundant selection of spices for cooking. Bathroom door and some windows' hinges could use a bit of oil because they were squeaky when opening/closing, but that didn't affect our stay negatively.

The playground on the property was so fun and we’ll stocked for our kids - and the basketball court was a nightly spot of fun! The rooms were spacious and so clean! It was five star experience and close to everything! Nothing!

Kitchen was very well stocked, board games, basketball and kid play area, comfy beds, and a washer/dryer in the unit. The location is about 15 mins from Selfoss - it ended up being central for the adventures we were going on. Loved it!!! Not much close by - gas, groceries, etc are all 15ish minutes away.

Many thanks for that! A little overdecorated for our taste. The waste disposal was an unpleasant affair in view of the complicated waste separation system (6 containers)in pouring rain and strong wind.

- Linda (10/5): 100% recommend. Remote and yet easy drive to all the sights. - I loved everything. We looked forward to relaxing at the house after our long days walking/climbing. The house was perfect. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate, beer glasses in the freezer, cooking oil, salt and pepper, spices. The house is ideally placed for driving the Golden Circle one day and the south coast the next. Easy to find and comprehensive instructions on grocery stores, off-licence … etc provided by Rosa. … and a wonderful, peaceful view. Cannot think of anything else that Rosa could have done.
- ARTY (10/5): - There was a ton of room for our family of four. Rosa was easy to communicate with both before the stay (she wrote a very informative and thorough welcome email) and at check-in. We stayed for three nights and it was easily the most comfortable of the five different sets of lodging we had in Iceland.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was an amazing lodge - away from the light pollution of selfoss which allowed us to experience the dancing northern lights for an hour during one of our nights. The lodge was lovely, extremely clean and we had a wonderful meeting with Rósa who looks after the lodges who gave us lots of information. The lodge was full of food ingredients and helped us settle on the first night. We were a party of five and the lodge was definitely big enough but it is a shame that it didn’t have an ensuite to make showering quicker. I have seen that some other lodges have hot tubs and this would truly be icing on the cake considering how clear the nights were.

- David (10/5): - If you are in Iceland, a stay at Icelandic Cottages is a must. A 10 out of 10! Our hostess, Rosa, was very nice and showed us our charming, cozy clean 3 bedroom 1 bath home. The best place to view the Northern lights illuminate the dark clear sky. Breathtaking! It is about a 15 min drive to Selfoss downtown and within close distance to major attractions: Geyser, Gulfoss, Thingvellir national park, Secret lagoon, Kerid crater, horseback riding at Eldhestar...we would stay there again and recommend all our family and friends.

Beautiful, comfortable, and very well equipped - coffee, tea, milk, some food stuffs, and lots of spices so cooking (when we bothered) was very easy. Rosa, the owner/hostess could not have been friendlier or more helpful. She has even made up a binder with maps, local attractions and things to do, restaurant recommendations, etc. The cottages are in a beautiful rural area but only less than fifteen minutes drive to Selfoss. Highly recommend Icelandic Cottages.
