Guest Reviews
- Donna (9/5): Amazing place and people to spend time with - The management and staff were exceptional. We slept well, ate well at breakfast and relaxed fireside at the bar. The location was perfect for us to attend the Olympic curling games and to walk into the restaurants and bars. As one would expect during the Olympics, the price for accommodations was inflated in the entire area so value for dollars was not perfect. The only other small item was that the shower fixture location was difficult for washing long hair.
- Roberta (9/5): Hotel con posizione centrale , arradamento tipico e stanze confortevoli - Lo stile è l arredamento molto confortevole.
Stanze ampie e curate . La mancanza del
Frigo bar nelle stanze
- gregnQ6528TB (10/5): What an Olympic experience! - We stayed at the Trieste for 23 days during the Olympics and we LOVED it! The family staff were fantastic, as was the breakfast and bar. Everyone was so welcoming even though our crew could be a bit overwhelming. The hotel is centrally located, an easy walk to shops, cafes and gondolas. The rooms were clean and cozy, the views magnificent. I could not recommend the Trieste highly enough. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

- Cody (10/5): This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! - I couldn't love this accommodation more! The staff were so friendly and helpful, including packing us a lunch when we requested it. The views were unmatched and being able to walk out onto the patio and be looking directly at the mountainside was beyond breathtaking. When we go back to the Cortina, we will 100% be staying here again! Absolutely nothing! This place was so amazing in every way.
- Gregg (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): Great value for money with amazing views - Great location and beautiful views of the mountains. Although on a busy road it is quiet at night. There is a great flat walking track directly behind the property where you can safely walk into town. Breakfast and staff were amazing. Nothing
- Megumi (10/5): -
- Rohaizah (10/5): Warm, cosy and charming - So cosy , charming and I love the warm alpine feel to it .
Host was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was sumptuous. Maybe the room was a little bit small .

- Orlock (7/5): - Location, Breakfast, Staff and cleanliness were all top notch here at Hotel Trieste! Just moments away from the town center and major hiking trailheads, this place was awesome to stay in. The rooms were also updated, WiFi signal was great. The beds/sheets were a little uncomfortable. Both me and my travel partner had issues sleeping soundly. Also, the shower drainage was a problem, I think across multiple rooms - so definitely ask for extra towels when you arrive.
- Ashish (6/5): A mediocre hotel at a good, convenient location. Priced rather high. - Our room had a nice view of the mountain A) the hotel is pretty old
B) we chose to have dinner there. Won’t recommend to others. Over-priced and not at all special.
C) breakfast was just OK.
- Anoniem (10/5): - De locatie en de welwillendheid en adviezen van het personeel, evenals een uitstekend ontbijt. Kamer zeer netjes en superschoon! Niets eigenlijk.
- Kateřina (9/5): - Báječná dovolená skvěle ubytování
- messervy (9/5): Perfect location, stunning views - The hotel is in a stunning location - easy walk in to centre , but retaining amazing views
Very welcoming family owned
Great breakfast in a stunning location with great views all good
- David (9/5): Lep hotel, lokacija - Lokacija, zajtrk Nič posebnega

- Camilla (9/5): Superb - Really good breakfast and a great location for town. Felt very friendly and laid back, ample parking in front of the hotel, and nice views out the front too!
- Péter (9/5): Superb - Staff is very kind and professional. We visited them in July, the blanket was very heavy :) but during ski period it can be perfect!
- Treasa (10/5): A Lovely Place to Stay - Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed the amazing breakfasts at the hotel and a few drinks from the bar in the evenings. The room was clean, comfortable, had a lovely bathroom and an amazing view of the mountains. It was such an enjoyable stay.
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (10/5): Perfect spot - clean, homely, perfect location, super friendly staff - Everything! Perfect location to explore surrounding mountains with the town centre a 5 min walk and 2 grocery stores across the street, gorgeous views over the valley, very clean, really friendly staff. Also great value for money, couldn’t recommend this place more and would definitely stay again! Pillows were super firm
- D'agostino (10/5): This hotel offered everything I needed and was quite central to where I was hiking. I will gladly return again - Wonderful staff and accommodations. The breakfast was also fantastic. N/A
- Marta (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great time in hotel Trieste. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was stylishly furnished and cleaned every day. The breakfast was amazing. We also loved the big balcony overlooking the peak of Tofana di Mezzo. The street in front of the hotel is quite busy, but the traffic calms down at night, so it was not a problem.
- Philipp (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (6/5): Pleasant - Several staff were friendly. Cortina's hotels charge very high prices, so expectations match. Coffee at breakfast was not good, and the juices were poor.
- Katie (9/5): Fabulous - Great location, very clean and friendly The room was quite warm, air con would have been great
- Melissa (10/5): Excellent base for surrounding hikes, with free parking.walking distance into the main square. Hotel and staff were love - Really good sized room, with a beautiful view. Window shutters to keep out the light. Really nice shower & good breakfast. Free parking was also excellent.
- Bradley (6/5): Okay location but staff could be more welcoming - Location was good, close to the Olympic Stadium but a 15 minute walk from downtown. You’ll still need to take a ski bus to get to any ski lifts. The staff were not very friendly to foreigners. The bedroom floors were never cleaned properly and were gritty, otherwise the rooms were okay, but the walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbours.
- Bouthayna (7/5): Good -
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Q4782OQdavidc (8/5): Very pleasant and extremely well run hotel - Very pleasant and extremely well run hotel. A bunch of 6 guys stayed here for one week in January 2025 and were very impressed. It’s a little outside the town of Cortina and it’s a 10 to 12 minute walk into town and it’s not near any of the ski lifts. But that’s its only drawback. It’s very welcoming and Ronnie and his team are very welcoming and informative. Rooms warm and comfortable. The restaurant is very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Ronnie's advice on wine is definitely worth getting. Overall, a lovely pleasant experience.
- Fergus (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (8/5): Great location for skiing the Dolomites - Overall great value and very friendly staff. Ski bus stop almost right outside and ski hire very close.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely comfortable hotel close to the cable car (about 10 minutes walk). Also a skibus stop outside going in either direction to Socrepes or the cable car. The stadium car park, where some express buses arrive, is just down the hill. The room was large and cosy and well furnished. Had a little balcony looking across to the mountains. Good breakfast buffet with lots of choice. A big lounge and bar area. The staff were lovely. All in all an excellent base for a ski holiday.
- MarkN157 (10/5): Wonderful Relaxing Ski Trip - My wife and I spent six nights at Hotel Trieste right before the busy season in February. We skied four of our five days. This was our second stay at the hotel, the last being in the summer of 2022 on an organized hiking tour.
We loved our room (41). The hotel is pet friendly and our dogs were very relaxed there. The town walking/ bike path is just above the property which was very convenient for the dogs. We booked breakfast and dinner in our rate, which really simplified our evenings and made for a super relaxed stay. The bar/lounge is very nice, with a fire place, card playing room, and a fascinating 1956 Olympic video playing.
This is a really great spot that we enjoy more than some ultra-luxury hotels. Plenty of free on-site parking, great ski room, and proximity to the Cortina ski resort. Walkable into town. Truly a family owned and run gem in Cortina.
- Amy (9/5): Cosy hotel close to ski resort and restaurants/shops - Very clean and in the perfect location in Cortina. Restaurants/shops and ski resort are a 10minute walk or a short bus journey.
There are 2 small supermarkets just over the road to buy snacks and supplies.
Would recommend booking the spa room 10/10 Mattresses were a bit hard and we had to pad out with extra blankets but apart from that no other feedback.
- Pickey (10/5): A Perfect Place For The Skiing. - Our ski trip to the Dolomites was made even more incredible thanks to our fantastic lodging. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel like we were in a home away from home. The lodge was not only cozy but perfectly located, just a short distance from the slopes with a city-managed free ski bus. We were able to hit the trails first thing in the morning after the included delicious breakfast and take full advantage of the stunning skiing conditions throughout the day.
The rooms were comfortable, with beautiful alpine décor, and the mountains' panoramic views were breathtaking. And the staff were very helpful in giving lots of information about the region for the skiing.
I highly recommend this lodge for anyone looking for an amazing ski getaway in the Dolomites. It offers the perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and incredible skiing! nothing.
- Xenia (8/5): Very good -
- Taylor (10/5): Romantic get away, beautiful views, amazing hotel atmosphere. - Amazing hotel room views, friendly and helpful staff, good location with a ski bus right outside. Has a ski locker room, saunas etc! Everything was very clean and it was our favourite hotel we’ve been to in Europe. It’s 5 stars in our opinion! Restaurant had great food as well. Nothing at all
- Celine (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (8/5): I would return for another wonderful stay - Cleanliness, location, staff, comfort, breakfast was superb
- Sergey (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel with nice personnel. Breakfast is good
Room is comfortable with all needed facilities.
I recommend it -
- Lone (10/5): We stayed there for three days and loved it. The hotel was great, centrally located, easy parking, very clean and comfo - We really liked the location, it was very close to town, parking was easy, the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t ask for better. We would stay there again. Nothing, it was great
- Jo (9/5): Charming family-run hotel in Cortina with incredible mountain views and helpful staff. We felt like we got a lot for our - Our amazing mountain view from our window, the spa facility, the very friendly staff
- Stephen (8/5): Comfortable and friendly hotel - Very friendly and helpful people to deal with. Organised a take away breakfast when I wanted to be away very early one morning. Minor issue only but my room faced onto road so there was traffic noise- I live in a very remote area so am particularly sensitive to nighttime noise and may not be an issue for others.
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful view from room, easy walking distance to amenities. - Great location, walking distance to town center and Gondola to Tofano. No negative issues.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ofer (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Gregory (8/5): Very good -
- Nisha (9/5): Don’t hesitate to book this place! - The room was great and the location is perfect. The staff here are so accommodating. I am coeliac and we were going to miss breakfast our first morning due to an early excursion. The staff made me and my husband a bag of food to take with us (all gluten free for me) and it was honestly so lovely. I would stay here again without a doubt. None
- Anne (9/5): We loved our room and were very happy there. - Location was good, easy to walk into Cortina, but also easy to get in and out of by car.I would definitely stay at this property again. Coffee wasn't that great and difficult to get a second serving at breakfast. Although the rest of breakfast was great.
- Alexander (10/5): We had an excellent time at Hotel Trieste! - Incredibly friendly staff, great breakfast, very clean. They were very helpful with the area and on top of it with letting us know all the details. Nothing. Aside from having no AC (was not a problem as much of this area does not have it, weather was cool enough), there was not a single problem.
- Emma (9/5): Week in the mountains - Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, great views, and good location. Breakfast could have been better especially the hot food options.
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great and the hotel was very cozy. I first thought my room was to light in the night, but I can just close the windowns from the balcony and it became very dark. Futhermore, the window is sound proof, so it was very silent during the night. I had a great experience. Nothing to say.
- London689 (8/5): Very good -
- Donovan (9/5): Superb -
- Elmira (7/5): It was pricy but clean. - Nice location. Walking to the center. You can’t choose your table at breakfast
- Sharon (9/5): A Great Hotel - Hotel was in a great location being only a 10 minute walk to the centre of town and 5 minute walk to the bus station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel Room was quite warm so had to have door to balcony open and then the traffic noise was very loud.
- Liz (9/5): Superb - Views from the balcony
Sitting outside with a beer in the evening watching the crazy Italian drivers and chatting to the bar man
Great decor throughout, very much an alpine chalet.
Breakfast was good. Needs aircon
Traffic noise at night tends to wake you up
- Walter (8/5): Very good -
- Rosa (8/5): Very good - Lovely hotel in Cortina
- Rosemary (8/5): Very good -
- TotalOfFive (8/5): Book a room on a lower floor. - Our first room was fabulous - very spacious. Our second room after returning from a three day hiking trip was less fabulous. If you stay here - and I do recommend the hotel - make sure you don't get a top floor room. They are tiny, tiny, tiny. The hotel was renovated sometime recently as the bathrooms are all lovely and the entire hotel is charming. The breakfast and dinner were quite good, the employees were helpful and gracious. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It's about a 7 minute walk into the small downtown pedestrian area which has shopping and restaurants galore. Be aware that the shops tend to close midday for several hours. If you wanted to hike in the area surrounding Cortina this might work well as a base. Also be aware that at this time (summer 2024) Cortina is undergoing a city-wide sprucing up to prepare for the upcoming Olympics. Construction is everywhere. The surrounding mountains make up for the inconvenience.
- Roslyn (8/5): We had a fantastic time staying at hotel Trieste! The room is comfortable, the views were incredible, the breakfast was - Great location, clean rooms and excellent breakfast! The views from our room were incredible too. Not much! It was a great stay.
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Soledad (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was very comfortable Breakfast was really good. The location was perfect, we could walk everywhere in Cortina and park in front of the hotel. The view from our room was amazing.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): The stay was fantastic. The property was very close to the ski bus stop. - Rooms were great and very clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Buffet breakfast was excellent and was a great start to a day of skiing. Overall atmosphere very cosy and the facilities such as the ski locker was very convenient
- Ioana-emilia (10/5): Wonderful accommodation, close to slopes and city center - The hotel is wonderful, we had a room on the back of the hotel, therefore it was really quiet and slept very well every night.
The room and bathroom were big and airy, had a lot of storage space and a small balcony that I believe in the summer is very nice.
Breakfast was one of the best ones we've eaten at a hotel in recent years ( eggs, legumes, fruits, yoghurt, many vegetarian options and very good coffee.
The staff was extremely nice, we even received breakfast to go as we had an early flight and could not eat breakfast at the hotel.
It is perfectly located 10 minutes on foot from the city center and 10 minutes on foot from Tofana gondola.
I really recommend this hotel and if we'll ever be in the area, we would certainly book again. -
- Andrej (8/5): Good - The Ski areas Were in very good conditions, Ski lifts are ok… No restaurants on the Ski places
- Christopher (10/5): Highly recommend! Wonderful experience at Hotel Trieste! - Clean, comfortable and convenient location. Excellent service/restaurant/bar. The owning family makes you feel like one of their own. Warm and hospitable!
- Rohdekill (10/5): Charming elegance and impeccable hospitality in the heart of Cortina. - The place is perfect! Charming, authentic, and understated elegance in the heart of Cortina — and a family-run business to boot! The hotel owners know how to deliver a first rate experience. They go out of their way every day to make you feel welcome and ensure your needs and comfort are their top priority. Such nice people and such high standards of hospitality, truly a rarity these days. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

- Ivana (9/5): Superb -
- Yann (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Shelley (7/5): Good value for the area. - Easy walk into town made this a good location. Excellent breakfast. The walls must be quite thin - we heard every word of our next door neighbour’s late night phone conversations. Our room also had light coming in from the hotel sign, which was difficult to fully block out with the curtains.
- Godfrey (9/5): Superb -
- Lucinda (8/5): Very good -
- Dani (9/5): Superb -
- Mei (7/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay - - Very friendly staff throughout the hotel. All were welcoming and attentive 10/10.
- The rooms were decent and clean
- Great location with free parking and shops opposite to pick up water and snacks Just a couple of points-
The dinner menu was just a list of dishes. It wasnt clear that there was a set menu and there were no prices. Simply writing this on the menu would’ve saved the waiter time trying to explain this to us.
Our room was facing the road so very loud even at night. We couldn't close the window because the room was too hot. Would be good to put a fan or aircon unit in

- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Nice, friendly hotel in a great location; just try and get a room in the back for more quiet and afternoon shade. - Location, staff, value Traffic noise in front-side rooms
- Joan (9/5): Superb -
- Ari (9/5): Superb - Nice location and a short walking distance to center, enough parking space, WLAN works in the rooms as well, good breakfast. This was the fourth time we stayed in this hotel and every time we have requested and also had a family room with a separate bedroom for our son. As the hotel is on a rather busy street, motorbikes were quite noisy
- Jenny (9/5): Great hotel, good location. - Good location, short walk into the main area. Really friendly staff and very helpful. Great sauna and jacuzzi area. Would recommend a couple of hours in there after a long hike. Lovely. Breakfast was good, although I unfortunately cannot stomach much breakfast in the morning. I did take two cobs away to eat later and was reprimanded about this at the table (Embarrassing!). I do understand that the hotel makes its money from doing lunches but if it’s obvious you aren’t eating, then exceptions can be made
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
